In the wake of our 6-month anniversary in working with the Carpet Center, my wife & I decided to…read moreshare some additional insight (from our experience) Since there has been no resolution, nor restitution (from the $1000+ in damage the Carpet Center caused to our home), we continue to want to inform & tell our story. Besides to the damage (which is well documented, via pictures on Houuz, Google + and yelp), my wife and I wanted to tell story of in lack of customer service, lack of professionalism and verbal accusations. Outside of the lack of customer service, my wife and I came to understanding when (and this was our case) the Carpet Center asks for a deposit/ down payment of +10% is technically illegal (and against California State License Board policy) The CSLB told me directly that is highly UN-professional, not to mention, you generally do not want to engage with companies who conduct such behavior. It typically means that the company (in this case) the Carpet Center does not have enough cash flow to fund current jobs (I wish I had known this) We ended up paying in full and would have regardless, but Aida and Nick Budetti sure know how to take it to their customers. In addition to that... and this is more of the issue, but when Aida and Nick came to inspect the damage the Carpet Center caused, Nick repeatedly (numerous times) decided to imply my wife is a liar (and right in front of her) I completely understand that this my story, but I will remind you that pictures do not lie, so you can see the damage and decide for yourself. I for one, would just like to educate and inform (from our story) so that others do not get hurt by the Carpet Center. If anything, I truly hope someone can be assisted by our story. DO NOT TRUST THE CARPET CENTER.

Went to a few carpet shops to find something that would work, and the Carpet Center staff were the only ones that cared to walk us through their leftover inventory and choose something that looked good and worked perfectly for our application--and the cat is happy too!

The reason I gave them 2 stars is the dishonest way they conducted business. I wanted to give them the benefit of doubt as honest mistake, but the chances of the incidents just seems too coincidental. Here's the account of the story, u be the judge... Issue #1: We turned down other bids to go with NAF. But when David came for final measurement and to collect deposit, he informed us that his initial measurements were incorrect and raised the final price significantly higher! Issue #2: Now the above incident by itself would not have brought any alarm, but what happened next did. I made the mistake of referring them to a relative before our own quote/job started. An older gentleman from NAF (probably David's uncle or his dad), DID THE SAME THING!!! Except it was even worse, he informed my relative that he quoted too low *AFTER* the deposit had been taken! Who does that?!?! Issue #3: When the job was completed, I promptly paid the rest of the balance as indicated on the contract. Five minutes later, David came back to the house and told me that he calculated wrong on his original contract and that the balance was actually more!!! I was in total disbelief and asked him, "do you rather stand there and ask me to write a new check for more after what you initially did?" The answer was "yes"... Needless to say, this is the last time I'll ever do business with them and for sure tell everyone I know to NEVER use NAF!

He talked us through our options and we setup an appointment for an estimate. He showed up on time and gave us a great quote. We decided to use NAFD and were very glad we did. David installed our blinds on time and they look fantastic. Since we just bought our house, I was worried that our floors or walls would get scratched or damaged but that didn't happen. I'd highly recommend David - he was a genuinely nice guy, gave us his honest opinions on blinds choices (wife and I were very indecisive), and never tried to oversell or up sell us at all. This is after viewing and pricing hardwood and installation services in San Jose. I knew upon meeting Gene that he was a good man who could be trusted, and I felt confident from the Yelp reviews that his execution and guidance would be top-notch. When you have high expectations, it is easy to be disappointed. NOT the case here! I am happy to report. Gene worked with me on finding the right wood, which in my case was 3" tigerwood, for a price that allowed me to do the nursery, as well as our priority rooms, the master bedroom and living room. He also was able to get the work on his calendar within a few weeks, and he and his crew worked hard to finish the complete job in 3 days, just in time for company coming, not to mention a baby getting very close to coming! I am especially grateful that Gene and both of his really professional, hard-working, polite, capable, and timely crew members were courteous and considerate to my 8 months pregnant condition. They helped with moving furniture, and really going the extra mile in making the floors nice, taking care of a little varnish issue for me that would have gone undone for a few days as my husband was traveling during the work.
