    Baked potato & cabbage

We are kicking ourselves for taking so long to try this adorable restaurant! It's like walking into your favorite hole-in-the-wall Southern beach calabash place. Everything we had was off-the-hook good! Fried Shrimp and Flounder with fries and clam chowder for Husband. Clam chowder is included as a side option and they even brought it to him before our entrees. That's Southern hospitality! They also brought terrific hush puppy rings right away. I prefer my seafood broiled or grilled and they even put some good seasoning on them. For my sides I had a baked potato and cooked cabbage. All terrific and I loved all three sauces that were in squeeze bottles on the table. Service was also great! Those Gals couldn't have been more charming or helpful. And you can't beat the prices for this kind of quality! Note: it's a small restaurant. We went at an off time on a Sunday so it wasn't crowded, but it was sure picking up by the time we left.

We were given a GrubHub gift card as a sympathy gift and decided to order takeout from Off The Hook. My family and I have enjoyed their food over the years, despite a few hiccups. This evening's service and food quality negated all of our previous experiences. My order was thirty minutes later than the original promise time, and nearly one hour after I placed the order. I checked in when I arrived, so they knew I was there and waiting. My daughter's shrimp meal was lukewarm and soft. It was inedible. The green beans were all lukewarm and the grease was solidifying. My son's salmon was not cooked evenly. I ordered fried chicken - also lukewarm - and a salmon patty. The salmon patty was undercooked and had been sitting in the styrofoam so long it was a mushy mess (see picture). The restaurant is filthy these days, the floors look dirty. There was a silverware container sitting on the counter where customers were picking up to-go orders. The staff did not offer an apology for the wait, they never updated me on why it was taking so long. We will never, ever return here again.

Big Disappointment We have been looking for a good seafood restaurant since moving to Franklin County from Little River, SC a few months ago. Discovered Off the Hook online and could not wait to give it a try. WOW! What a letdown! We approached the dinner with a lot of hope, expectation and really wanted it to be good. With every dish we tried hard to convince ourselves that it was at least OK, but it just went from bad to worse. The Hushpuppies are those skinny little doughnut kind. Not so bad, and we could have accepted them if the rest of the meal was good - which it wasn't. Next up was the Clam Chowder and Brunswick Stew. The Chowder did have a good amount of Clam bits, but it was not close to being a chowder. It was thin and weak and tasted odd. The Brunswick Stew was as bad as any I have ever had. I was also thin, but it did have a lot of flavor - unfortunately, the overpowering flavor was just plain weird - no other way to describe it. There was one item that we really liked - the fried Oysters. These were tender and juicy on the inside, tasted great, and had that wonderful Calabash style breading. A definite winner. But then came the Deviled Crab. If it were not served in the crab shell, I would have thought that I was eating turkey stuffing. It was mealy and pasty with little or no crab flavor. The Potato Salad was unremarkable - potatoes with a little mayo and virtually no seasonings or anything else to bring it to life. We finished our meal with a slice of Key Lime Pie - another disappointment. The pie filing was OK, but the topping (not sure exactly what it was) was gooey and sticky. I tried to figure out why the food was so underwhelming. The only thing I can come up with is that it must all come directly out of a can or freezer (with no additions or embellishments by the cooks). It was all so very institutional. The dining area is roomy and comfortable and the staff friendly and helpful; but, the food is not good. We truly wish it were better, but we won't be back.

I ordered Jumbo shrimp, but I received popcorn shrimp instead. Moreover, I requested my catfish to be fried hard, but it turned out soft, undercooked, falling apart, and even pink inside. It was so displeasing that I had to put it in the oven to finish cooking it. Overall, the experience was disgusting and very unsatisfactory.

Endless supply of DELICIOUS free hush puppies before your meal! My Father in law said "I don't even like hushpuppies and these are amazing"

We went here with a fairly large group on Easter Sunday. It was overall an okay experience but definitely not something I'd go out of my way for. The stuffed salmon was stuffed with seafood salad, not the regular crab I was expecting. It was the fake stuff. The salmon itself was good. Everyone enjoyed their meals but catfish wasn't that great. My father in law said it was salty. You get endless hush puppies. Huge plus considering most places charge for this. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. It wasn't a bad experience, but wasn't much better than most seafood places.

I really enjoyed my dining experience at this restaurant. At first glance is very simple but is clean and has beautiful outdoor seating. The staff was very nice and the food was good. It is a family owned restaurant and they make their own seafood sauce which is a plus. It was reasonably priced under $20 for a nice portion of food. I have enough for two.. So when you're inside of town please pay them a visit

This little restaurant, located in a rather new strip mall about 4 miles from I 540, used to be Fitzgerald's but changed ownership and names in late October 2016. The original restaurant had some nice reviews, but the owners sold it several years back, and the wheels kind of came off. When it was available recently, they bought it back, and renamed it to put some distance from the last several years. This place is primarily about fried seafood, though there are some other items worthy of note, some broiled items, crab legs, and even pork BBQ. Can't speak about the non-fried items, a situation I often find myself in, but the fried seafood, the HPs, and the Clam Chowder are excellent. Alice chose the Fried Shrimp with a House Salad, and a cup of Clam Chowder. I ordered a combo of Clam Strips, Oysters, and Trout Filet, all fried, with Slaw & Fried Okra. The shrimp were not the popcorn ones we prefer, but these were excellent, very fresh tasting. The Clam Chowder was very, very nice, with a good mixture of clam, potato, and onion, and a nice amount of black pepper. The clam strip were very plentiful, and reminded me of the one's we loved at Howard Johnson's, a million years ago. The oysters were small but exploding with taste, and nicely fried up, and the trout was equally as good. This is not an inexpensive place if you stray off the specials ($17 for the 3 item combo, $11 for the Fried Shrimp, and the diet sodas at $2.25 - Raleigh prices in a bedroom community!), but the food was good, the service excellent, I'd stop by again when in the area.

For a local seafood place, it's fine, ambiance is kinda old. Food is decent and prices are ok. Staff is friendly.

That's Italian…read more Pie-Zano's serves a Pie that's as close to a Brooklyn Pizza as you will find around here. The New York Style Crust and savory Tomato Sauce come together to make the perfect hand-held, foldable Pizza. The expansive lineup of Pasta dishes are also right out of the Big Apple. Calzones, Strombolis, Hot Sandwiches, Cold Sandwiches, Appetizers, Salads and Deserts are all on the menu. If it's Italian, this Rolesville trattoria probably serves it. The one negative is that there is no inside seating. We were fortunate that the weather was beautiful on our first visit, and we were able to enjoy a bright sunny day at one of their outdoor tables. Otherwise this is one of the best take-out Pizzerias in the area. We enjoyed an 18" Pepperoni Pizzaand 10" Individual Pizza with Onions and Bell Peppers. Both were delicious - with just the right amount of savory Tomato Sauce and melty Mozzarella Cheese. Another favorite was the Penne Arrabiata Pasta with Black Olives and a Spicy Tomato Sauce. The Penne was cooked perfectly, the sauce tantalizing and the portion more than enough for two meals. My favorites are the Italian subs. Pie-Zano's sub rolls are everything a perfect roll should be: slightly sweet, slightly crispy on the outside, enough texture to provide a satisfying crunch when you bite into it and king-size. Any filling would taste great when stuffed inside one of these beauties. The Special Sub is crammed full of Ham, Salami, Provolone, Cappicola, Lettuce, Tomato, Onion and Banana Peppers and seasoned just right with classic Italian flavors, Olive Oil and Vinegar. A complete meal on a roll. The only item that we did not particularly enjoy was the Baked Spaghetti with Ricotta and Mozzarella. We found it to be rather bland, but were able to bring it to life with some oregano, basil, red pepper flakes and a drizzle of olive oil. This would be a perfect dish for the kiddies - and enough to feed two or three of them.

Honestly the best pizza we have had in a long time! Would go weekly if we lived close.read more

A happy surprise in every bite…read more Artisan is a bright, cheerful, almost whimsical eatery located in the rapidly expanding Cobblestone Village in downtown Rolesville. This mini-deli serves up a variety of specialty cheeses, cured meats and beers. There's also a wall-size cooler loaded with a wide selection of canned craft beers, ciders and seltzers. The decor is warm minimalism, the vibe is neighborly and the staff cordial and accommodating. Signature sandwiches are my personal favorites, but there's also a variety of Small Plates, Salads and Boards. The sandwiches are huge - like the ones found in the best of New York's delis. One special, the Sweet Heat Seoulwich, was truly special. (Be sure to check the specials which change often.) The Toasted Hoagie Roll is piled high with Korean BBQ Glazed Pineapple, Mortadella, Mozzarella, Pickled Fresno Peppers, Gochujang Aioli (spicy Korean-inspired mayonnaise), Lettuce and Tomato. (Bet you can't eat all of it in one sitting.) The traditional Turkey Club is another monster that includes Hickory Smoked Turkey, Pesto Aioli, Spanish Jamon (ham), Lettuce, Tomato, and Vermont Cheddar on Sourdough Bread - a gourmet delight. Add a pint of Salty Turtle Kölsh Style Ale and you have a delicious, filing and refreshing meal. On the lighter side we recommend the Small Salad & 1/2 Sandwich. We paired a Caesars Salad and Mortadella (traditional sliced Italian Pork Sausage, Calabrian Chili Aioli, Gruyere Cheese, Balsamic Caramelized Onions and spicy Arugula on a toasted Hoagie Bun) - really good. The Whipped Ricotta Plate is another winner. The velvety Ricotta is topped with a rich Fig Jam, crispy Prosciutto, Yuzu Oil (refined citrus peal oil), Citrus Zest and Chives. The accompanying toasted Sourdough Bread was airy, tangy and as good as you will find anywhere. What I appreciate the most about Artisan is its creativity and imagination.
