We have enjoyed the food here a number of times, and it's always very good. They have a nice clean restaurant with good service. It wasn't very busy at lunchtime, but they were having a private event in the back room. I tried a bite of the lobster sandwich and kind of wish I had ordered that. My Korean chicken was very crispy and tasty. The prices are very reasonable. They are definitely worth a try.
We finally got a chance to check out their new location in the former JBs Kitchen on Lower Main Street. They did a really nice job on renovating the space! It's bright and clean with new flooring and furniture. The service is fast and very friendly! We ordered the Korean chicken with drymein and the mushroom wagyu swiss burger. The burger was big and delicious. It came with large, homemade seasoned fries. The korean chicken reminded me of their chicken bites they had on their food truck menu, which I loved! Super crispy! It went perfectly with the drymein. We're so glad we found another great restaurant to go to in Wailuku.
This is a small hole in a wall restaurant in Lower Main in Wailuku, Maui, Hi. It has a small menu but very good food and tasty to the palate. I went twice and each time we ordered appetizers. I love the local hawn twist of gnocchi using taro or kalo instead of potato served in a creamy sauce with luau leaves.it waa exquisite! The pickled pohole fern shoots salad was so good had two servings. The fried salted garlic shrimp was crisp n tender. I actually ate it shell n all! I highly recommend Ogo and the next time will try the dinner menu. Service was fast too. And Btw its BYOB too!
Me and my girlfriend went here on last minute dinner pick, on a quick President's Day weekend trip to Maui. The food is simply AMAZING. We had the poke nachos and sirloin dishes; flavors are so good. This restaurant is really the only restaurant that I've been to so far in Hawaii that innovates asian and local food well, for such a reasonable price along with that. Love the casual and friendly vibes that come from the workers and the others dining. This restaurant doesn't come up on Instagram, and we almost missed this place because of that. Easily one of my favorite restaurants in Hawaii, just a shame I live on Oahu. Ogo's is a must pick if your in Maui!
So stoked for OGO's new location in Lower Main, right next to Made in Hope Café (where JB's Kitchen used to be) and are now open every day from 5-9pm. Wagyu Swiss Burger + Sidewinder Truffle Fries - Juicy wagyu burger stacked with Swiss, plus those addicting curly sidewinder fries drizzled in truffle and sprinkled with Parmesan. Wagyu Skirt Steak on Garlic Fried Rice - Tender wagyu on top of garlicky fried rice that hits the spot every time. Taro Gnocchi - Soft, chewy taro gnocchi in a tasty, island-style sauce. Tempura Pork Ribs - Crispy on the outside, fall-apart tender on the inside covered with smoked guava butter. Lumpia Ahi Nachos - Crunchy lumpia chips loaded with fresh ahi and all the fixings. Oxtail Katsu - Golden, crunchy katsu stuffed with melt-in-your-mouth oxtail. If you've been craving Ogo, or never had the chance to try them before, this is the perfect time to stop by for dinner. OGO is my Go-To spot in Wailuku!
The food was fantastic and the prices are reasonable! It was a great way to finish off our week vacation in Maui. It started with a Hawaii Food and Wine brunch event and ended at OGO. It was definitely a more casual environment but one of the nicer places we went to in Maui. You can dress up or not. There was a full range of seafood, beef and pork options. We ordered three entrees and a couple appetizers for 4 of us and ate family style so we could all try everything and we ate it down to the last bite. We actually started eating it before we remembered to take the photos, so some things don't look like much, but trust that it's all good. Her sauces were amazing too. I remember that the chef had an apron on that had Escoffier Culinary School on it, if that makes a difference if you know the style of cooking at that academy. Service was great too, and the waiter helped us figure out what to eat. The single complaint we had was that our throats were a little sore after eating the taro leave entree, but only 2 of the 4 of us noticed it. We let the chef know so she could check out what happened and correct it for other customers. I personally didn't feel bad and thought it was fine, so it might have been just a leaf or two that didn't cook enough. Overall I still give it all a 10 out of 10! Thanks for a great memory!
Yesterday as I was trying to decide what to have for lunch I came across Ogo's lunch special on my social media feed. He posted a delicious ahi katsu sammie with housemade tartar sauce on a potato bun served with their sidewinder fries. SOLD :) I ordered their lunch special to go but when I arrived, I decided to sit down and eat half of it while there. They had just opened. Their hours for lunch are 11am-2pm Monday- Friday and dinner is 5pm-9pm Tuesday- Saturday The ahi katsu sandwich hit the spot for this hungry working mama. It was crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. The sidewinder fries that I've had before at their food truck was tasty and perfect with their sandwich. LOCATION: They are now located at 331 Ho'okahi st. #201 across from the Maui food bank on the second floor in the middle. Hard to miss. Down the road is Dani's catering, TJs and many other businesses. SERVICE: Service has always been fantastic. They are so sweet. Support local always. OVERALL: Love their new spot and I keep hearing so many great things about it. I cant wait to go back and have dinner there. Make sure you stalk their socials when you're hungry to see what kind of specials they are having. I know I do lol Check them out.
Loved visiting their new brick and mortar spot for their dinner service! You have to have their venison lumpia, their dipping sauce with it is peak! Aside from that, I also love their oxtail katsu! Once a popular mobile food truck in Maui Lani, now a 2nd Floor brick & mortar restaurant in the nearby Kahului Industrial area above the 7 Pools Lounge. Reservations and menu selections are convenient on Open Table through the website. On a busy Friday night Servers double as hosts. You'll need to catch their eye and they'll ask if you have a reservation then seat and drop water and menus. ATM you can bring a few cold beers to sip while waiting for dishes. So many great descriptions of products, we settled on Tempura pork ribs, Hamachi sashimi, Crispy Oxtail Katsu and Lobster Crusted Fish. The wait wasn't too long but our Akamai server let us know food was coming out. The novel tempura ribs were attractively moist and tender with meat falling off the bone and had a contrasting crispy texture. Loved the flavors of the smoky-sweet guava glaze. The Hamachi was refreshingly different, with slices of fish under a course textured shave ice of ponzu so it wouldn't melt too fast. Entree of Oxtail Katsu was a great idea. The tepid meat with hints of star anise was tender and had a crispy crust that was sliced. I imagine lots of labor for that dish that could also be considered to use Braised Beef Brisket or Shank. The Lobster Crusted Fish I think was Mahi and impressive. Maybe it was an imitation style Lobster (seafood sensation?) but was tasty, nicely garnished and generous in portion. Bothe entrees were served with fried broccoli and steamed rice, and were moist with sauces, the fish had poi which I love. Although we were pretty full we chose the Guava Cake for dessert. It was a simple attractive presentation, and generous portion. Academically, the layered cake was very nicely baked and constructed. A bit more guava concentrate, syrup or pool of sauce would elevate the expected flavor for $10. We'll need to return to try out the other specialty dishes like Poi Gnocchi, Korean Chicken Noodles, Oysters, and Uni Carbonara. Keep it up Ogo Crew, we need fun restaurants like this on Maui!
One of the better restaurant options for Maui dining that's NOT in a hotel/resort. It has the potential to be an absolutely amazing upscale eatery. I was excited to try this place while visiting with friends on Maui. It's located on the second floor, the stairs to get up there is located on the left if you're facing the building. There's not a lot of seating, definitely make reservations. The dishes were quite pleasing to the eye and taste was pretty good. I was excited to try the whole fish ta'ape but found out they didn't have any when we went. It was substituted with a different type of white fish and topped with something like a crab Oscar. It was fine, I was just REALLY looking forward to that whole fried fish. My favorite new try of the night was the taro gnocchi with bacon cream and stewed luau leaves. The photo and presentation looked kinda drab, such is the nature of poi, but the flavor was amazing. I could have used a little textural change, maybe some very small crispy lardons or a bread crumb gremolata. The osso buco was beautifully presented, I didn't try it but my friend said it was good. We also tried the sashimi with the ponzu shaved ice. Great idea, needs a little more flare to it. Overall, I'd come back, I can only see them getting better.
The owners of this food truck sold it and moved into a 2F location on Hookahi Street 9n the Wailuku Industrial Park over a year ago. The restaurant serves upscale appetizers and entrees. We started off by sharing their house sale with beets. For our main course, I had the boneless pan seared ribeye and my wife had the miso glazed fish. Reservations are recommended, as they can be busy on some nights.

Was excited to try the Lechon Sushi "Burrito." Not sure why "burrito" since it was just a sushi...maybe because it was little bit big? More like maki sushi than burrito status though. Overall it was okay. Didn't really have taste. Some Patis or even just salt would have helped. Shoulda gotten the oxtail katsu...next time. read more

Im so glad that I had the opportunity to try this place out. I had the fried chicken wings which I really enjoyed. It had a really good taste to it. It came with a huge scoop of rice and pesto mac salad. Yummers. We also got the kobe burger which was really good. It vane with sidewinder fries which we really enjoyed. We were in the area so we called in our order and ur was ready within 5-10 minutes. Great service. Delicious food. Gotta support local restaurants/food trucks.. read more

Just thinking of this food truck makes my mouth water. The quality of their food rivals a lot of restaurants. I will go out of my way and stalk out their Facebook to see if they're open when I'm craving OGO. Here's what we've tried (and none of these dishes have disappointed). Prime Rib with Pesto Mac Salad and Rice Lechon Sushi Burrito Oxtail Katsu Lemon Chicken Katsu (special) Kobe Burger with sidewinder fries Kobe Loco Moco Prime rib was tender, juicy and came with au jus, scoop of rice and pesto mac salad. Great meal at a great price. Lechon sushi burrito smacks you right in the mouth with flavor from the lechon kewali, tomatoes and onions. Both the oxtail and lemon chicken katsus leaving me wanting more or wanting to return and ordering again. Really nice breading and the accompanying sauces put these dishes over the top. My husband has tried the Kobe Burger and Loco Moco. Hamburger patties are cooked just right and the gravy hits the spot. We are OGO fans and have and will continue to refer people to their truck. Tip- Lunch can get a bit busy, so if you call your order in ahead of time. You can pick up your food in a breeze. read more

Went on a Tuesday this time to take advantage of their generous bogo offer for Kamaaina. Great deal but menu doesn't match offerings. Short rib came with taro puree not the advertised ulu. Hamachi sashimi with shoyu shave ice came smothered in creamy aioli (not mentioned on menu) which ruined the delicate texture and flavor that was so clean and refreshing with the shave ice. Out of multiple items - including oysters which we specifically came for. read more

We went back to Ogo for another date night and tried some of their new items. They did not disappoint in the flavors! We ordered the hamachi sashimi with ponzu shaved ice, taro gnocchi (our favorite starter), lobster crusted fish (ahi), and miso broiled local fish (ahi). Each dish had so much flavor and we ate everything. Everything was cooked to perfection and well balanced. I highly recommend you try them out. This is our second time at Ogo's restaurant and we are now making it our go-to date night location. It's fine dining in the heart of Wailuku. The staff are attentive, welcoming, and always have a smile on their face. read more

Big props to my Yelp buddy - Maria P., as she really knows her grindages on Maui!!!! Last night, while doing one of my favorite past times (looking at food photos on Yelp), I came across some glorious foodie photos that Maria P. had posted. Quickly I sent here a compliment, and I had to ask her where this food truck was, and quickly Maria gave me da 411!!!! Ogo food truck - is located on an open grassy area, just behind the Wailuku Federal Credit Union (at least that's where the food truck was parked today). Didn't take me to long to find it, but I guess you just gotta drive around the Maui Lani Village area (it's basically an Industrial area in Wailuku). Upon walking up to the food truck, I was amazed that the offered 15 delicious items off of that little menu, granted I came here for just one thing.........the Miso Buffalo Wing Plate. For just $7.00 smackaz, my Miso Buffalo Chicken Wing plate had 6 plump & crunchy miso wings, with a single scoop of white rice, and mac salad. I have an ANNOUNCEMENT gang!!! Let me climb up on my soapbox to tell you folks........ BING! BING! BING! Bruddah Fran actually ate all of his mac salad today!!! Yes, believe it or not, I actually ate all of my mac salad!!!! (Sorry, forgot to get da pic for proof. Aiyah!!!) Why did I eat it???? Well, the mac salad was actually really good, and I'm not sure if the mac salad had mayonnaise in it, or not (Bruddah Fran hates mayonnaise), but it appears that this mac salad was made with some kinda pesto sauce??? The Miso Buffalo Wings???? Man oh, man.........what you do to me dat Miso Chicken Wing!!!! Aiyah, I should have bought (2) plates, as I could have easily polished off 12 wings all by myself!!!! The wings had a very nice crunchy texture, wings were plump, and the pungent smell of that miso paste really put me over the edge! Ummmmmmmmmmm, Nom! Nom! Nom! There's another food truck in town and man oh man does Chef Grant have such a good thing going! I was thinking about what to bring to a friend's house for snacks and I remembered OGO just opened and had lechon sushi burritos (I had pork belly on my mind that day, haha). Oh yes, lechon sushi burritos!! Got there later in the evening and the girl ahead of me had ordered the "last" one. Luckily they were able to squeeze out just one more for me. YAY! We also ordered some Miso Buffalo Wings & Sidewinder Truffle Parmesan Fries. Our food came out quickly and didn't wait long at all. The fries didn't quite make it to my friends house because it was THAT good and we were haaaangry. We did share the other 2 dishes though and I must say, the miso buffalo wings were winnnaaaahz! This girl sure loves her chicken wings, but I've ever had anything quite like it and it was delish! Our friends concurred and really enjoyed the lechon sushi burrito too. The following day I still had OGO on my mind and managed to hustle my whole office at work to order take-out from here. Hehe. I put in a phone order and was able to pick it up quickly. This is the way to go if you're in a rush or don't have much time during your lunch break. I got the short rib plate. It looked small at first, but it was at least 2 meals worth for me! Super generous serving for the price in my opinion. Everyone in my office enjoyed their meals as well from the miso baked fish to the hamachi won ton tacos. The best part about OGO are the prices. $7 for a whole plate lunch is pretty unheard of these days! Everything is priced so reasonably without sacrificing any of the flavors. Legit good and definitely worth a stop. You can usually find them at the Maui Lani Village Center near the gas station. They're parked in an open field and can be seen from the main road. There's street parking or you can just drive up on the grass and find a spot. There's no set schedule yet from what I could tell. Today Yelp decided to let me know that a new truck called OGO opened. Well, theyre a little late to the party on that one as I've already tried it! Walked right up to the front as the person I front of me was just finishing up. Would say that everything was very reasonably priced. I didn't want a plate lunch as it came with sides & I wanted to try more then one thing in one trip. Went with the side winder fries & lechon sushi burrito. Yes, I know carbs on carbs, but those just sounded too good to pass up. Didn't wait to long & mine was ready. As much as I wanted to try the burrito as soon as I got to the car, the fries seemed like a much more convenient drive & eat food. Very tasty with lots of parmesan flavor. Some might say that it was mild & needed a sauce or ketchup but to me it was fine as is. Got home & shared half my burrito & what was remaining of the fries. Oh, the crispiness of the lechon, yummmmm & add the shoyu provided for that extra punch of flavor. Will definitely have to come back to try more! read more

Happened to be in the Maui Lani area doing errands and wanted to try out Ogo Maui. I ordered their special of the day -- Rice Noodle Pasta tossed in a Black Garlic Cream Sauce, Bell Peppers, and Mushrooms. Topped with Chicken Katsu, Parmesan Cheese and Green Onions. It was pretty good and the chicken katsu was so crispy. Kobe Hamburger Steak - 1/2lb Patty, house-made gravy, white rice, and pesto Mac. Not sure if it was an off day but the hamburger patty was overcooked and a bit dry. As for their gravy, it doesn't have that "classic" taste. It tasted a bit like oxtail soup. Their pesto Mac was really good and the fried onions on top of that were a good addition. If you're looking for a good value and something different than your average plate lunch, this is your spot! Next time, I'll try out their Truffle Fries and Lechon Sushi Burrito! read more

We had the most fantastic dinner last night at Ogo in Wailuku. Their brick-and-mortar restaurant is delicious. It has been a long time for my husband and I to have enjoyed dining like we did last night. The food was all done well, presentation was beautiful served by friendly and attentive staff. We had the osso bucco with risotto and the surf & turf (a short rib with crab cake) both meats were tender and sauced perfectly. The risotto was perfect and whatever the chef did to the broccoli was outstanding. The starters of gnocchi and a beet salad with goat cheese set the tone for the rest of the meal. We will definitely be back, a great date night restaurant or any time restaurant. Maui peeps where are you? We must support local restaurants or we will end with only chains on Maui. Mother's Day is coming next week, take your Mom for a fantastic dinner bring her favorite wine they will provide the corkscrew and glasses and Mom will thank you for taking her to Ogo! read more

Sad I couldn't get the poke tacos because they sold out so come earlier if you want them! The OGO experience was great! I enjoyed their food truck and the restaurant is even better. We made a reservation which they kindly adjusted for 2 more late additions the day of. The servers and chefs did a great job with presentation and providing details around the preparation of the dishes we ordered. We had the oysters, eggplant tortang, hamachi/ahi sashimi, tempura pork ribs, short ribs and OGO cioppino all of which were fantastic. The Korean chicken and dry mein were perfect for the kiddos. They are very well priced and you get great value. The ambiance was fun and welcoming with tables full of conversation and laughter. We had a great time and recommend to anyone looking for a great meal and experience. read more

You gotta GO GO to OGO. Seriously, this place is legit delish. Just like many of you, I was debating between the oxtail katsu and the kobe loco moco. I decided to try them both, and they were both amazing. Oxtail katsu was so flavorful. Loved it. Creative and different in a very good way. You want to try something inventive and savory, this is it. Portion was a perfect size too. And the kobe loco moco? Mmmm. Loved this too. This was straight-up hearty, mouthwatering comfort food. If you are hungry and want something super tasty that is rich and filling, this is it. Portion was big with 1/2 a pound of burger smothered in gravy, fried onions, and topped with an over medium egg (which was perfect, because I'm not a fan of super runny, over easy eggs). Overall, two thumbs up, y'all! read more
Had the pleasure of tasting this food truck today. I had the Miso buffalo wings and the tako poke salad. Both were well executed and the taste profile was amazing!!! The truck is located in the maui lani parkway area and has a huge empty lot that the truck sits in and you can also park. You can't miss it. The miso wings came with a side of rice and pesto Mac salad which was AMAZING. You could really taste the pesto flavor. The tako poke salad was so good that you didn't even need the dressing that came with it and the poke was FRESH. I could eat this salad every day. It's a healthy alternative to typical "local food". Would definitely eat here again. read more

Truffle Parmesan Sidewinder Fries ($5) - This ain't yo regular fries my friend. These are like a fusion between potato wedges and curly fries, yeah I know pretty complex stuff right. The truffles just intensify the experience; you can definitely taste the truffles. It's not too salty, oily or greasy. Kobe Burger ($11) - came with fries +$1 for cheese. Although I can't tell the difference between a kobe beef and a regular beef burger; this one was pretty good to the taste. Now if you ordered the truffle fries I'd say stuff them fries in the burger and boom, you got yourself one of the best burger on the island. Beware kanak attack is inevitable. Just thinking about it makes my mouth wattah. (image attached) Lobster Maki Roll ($14): At first I was hesitant to order this because sometimes the lobster flavor is masked or the meat is just not there. OGO does not disappoint, they're not stingy and you can see the lobster meat if you haven't already devoured the whole thang. Went around 5p and there was no line. The food truck is parked behind Wailuku Federal Credit Union. Definitely give the Truffle Fries and Lobster Roll a try if you're around. read more

Ordered the Kobe beef loco moco plate for $11 and truffle parmesan sidewinder fries for $7. I absolutely loved the truffle parmesan sidewinder fries! I'd probably eat it with buttermilk sauce if I had some... it also reminded me a lot of Umi's truffle fries. I got my boyfriend the Kobe beef loco moco, he really likes it but I wasn't a huge fan of it. It didn't have a classic loco moco taste, the meat wasn't as tender as I thought it would be. The gravy tastes a bit like ox tail soup to me... very nice flavor but not what I was expecting for a loco moco plate. My boyfriend absolutely loves the fried onions on top though. Pesto mac salad... yummy!! I don't really care for pesto too much but it works so well for mac salad. It's definitely interesting, I'd have to try the oxtail katsu and lechon roll next. read more

Had lunch here. Had oxtail katsu. The breading was nice and crispy. It came out hot which I always appreciate. It came with a generous scoop of white rice and a scoop of pesto Mac salad. The oxtail meat was tender. Everything was bland for my taste. Even the katsu sauce was bland. We also tried the lechon sushi burrito. Definitely very bland. Not enough filling. Would not order these two dishes again but if I'm in the area, I will order something else. There's plenty of parking since truck is on a big empty dirt lot. There is no place to eat so it is all take out. read more
