Super disappointed with the crazy service tonight. I placed an order outside using the kiosk for just a chicken katsu special at 5:52 PM since it was crowded inside and ended up waiting 45 minutes for that one plate. It wasn't just the waiting, it was the service and lack of communication that pushed it over. After placing my order, I entered the restaurant and waited on the side since there wasn't a place to sit and wait. The worker who was stationed at the front soon came back and asked "How can I help you?" and I mentioned that I ordered on the kiosk outside and she walked away without saying anything. Around 10 minutes in I noticed the worker mentioning to every person in line only after they tried to order that the wait would be 30 minutes for anything on the grill since they had a big order. The questions that came to mind every time a person attempted to order was "why wouldn't she tell them that they would have to wait 30 minutes from the beginning before they even tried to order so they could reevaluate if their orders needed the grill?" And "what items are not on the grill?" Every person in line would get frustrated as she wouldn't even show what items didn't need the grill.. They would say "Okay I want to order this instead" and she would keep saying "that's on the grill so you have to wait 30 minutes." Like they were supposed to know.. Who wouldn't get frustrated? Time went on and I found myself still waiting at 6:30 PM. When i heard her mentioning the chicken katsu wouldn't take long since it's not on the grill. No update, just me sitting on those high chairs obviously waiting for my order. It's worse because you don't get a buzzer for using the kiosk. I decided to ask about my order but still had to wait in line to talk to that same worker. When it was eventually my turn, I said "I wanted to check on my order" and showed her a picture of the kiosk with the order number because the kiosk didn't print a receipt for me and rudely responded with "Your order's already ready" and just handed it to me.. Excuse me? No one even bothered to tell me it was ready and she spoke to me like I was supposed to know it was ready. How long was it ready that I was wasting my time waiting there? Also, please fix the option on the kiosk when you select the chicken katsu; it should have the option or be defaulted with "White rice & mac salad" like your app. The kiosk is misleading and doesn't say you don't need to select "all rice" or the other up-charge options. So when she gave it to me and she said all rice I explained to her that I thought it was making me choose an option and she got defensive and said "No it doesn't." She eventually took it to the back to put mac salad then returned and rudely told me "Next time just don't select an option." Wow. It was not my fault that no one called me to tell me my order was ready. It was not my fault there was a flood of orders during dinner time. I like Oh My Grill but please do better with the customer service, especially with the person who's in charge at the front. I understand that it gets overwhelming when it's busy but the communication and customer service was just the worst. No one deserves to be treated like that especially when we come often. After watching Raina win the food eating contest. I said I have to go try their food. This must be one of the best hidden secrets! I took my family here and they didn't disappoint. It's definitely a hidden gem! It is in a plaza with plenty parking. The inside is not huge. It had about 9-12 tables. The restaurant is open concept. It gave a cozy family vibe. We had my mother-in-law with us who has a wheelchair. So we had to wait until a table was available that would be accessible for her wheelchair. We got the table and placed the orders. The menu was huge it had so many options and offered mix and matches. Which was good but the best part was the prices and portions. The candle on the cake was the food was good. Glad we decided to try here for a late lunch after an 11 am movie. There was one large table of 6 men and us. In a matter of minutes lots of tables were filled with people coming to pick up orders and place take out orders. Cute logo on their salt and pepper canisters. They give a free black bag for our left overs to take home. My mini shrimp curry was just right for lunch. The milk tea I asked to have it in a take out cup was perfect- not sweet. I had the fried fish with fries. Also ordered the crab rangoon. My granddaughter had the orange chicken. My son and daughter-in-law had the combo meat plate and my grandson had the chicken katsu with fries. The food is good comfort food. Nothing to write home about except it does seem reasonably priced compared to other spots we've been to. That's a big plus in my book and something that would draw me back. This was probably our third option to eat at but it was the closest restaurant to us that doesn't close at 9pm. So we decided to come here. The restaurant has a pretty spacious parking lot, which is always a plus, especially when it's busy. We came on a Monday night, and it was a little crowded but nothing too crazy. One thing I wasn't too happy about was the bathroom situation. There's no bathroom inside, but they give you a key to use a locked bathroom outside. Honestly, it was pretty old and not very clean, which was disappointing. The menu has a lot of options, but I went with the combo--garlic fish and chicken katsu curry. The portions were massive (definitely will fill you up), but the food itself didn't wow me. The curry was just okay, nothing special, and the garlic fish was really salty. It came with two cups of rice, which was nice, but the mac salad was bland and forgettable. We also tried the crab rangoons, and while they were super crispy, the dipping sauce wasn't my favourite. It just didn't go well with the rangoons, in my opinion. The service was fine. We had to wait a little bit because we were a party of six, but the staff was friendly and didn't take too long. Inside, the restaurant is bright and clean, so it's a pleasant place to eat. The food is inexpensive, and you'll definitely get full. But honestly, I'm not sure I'd come back. 4 adults and 2 children. We just flew in from California and we were hungry so I looked on YELP (of course) for a restaurant with great reviews, family friendly, with Hawaiian BBQ and boba. Here we are and so glad! Seated immediately and brought menus and water. The menu is pretty extensive and so many wonderful choices. Prices are excellent so that didn't factor in when making our choice. Every got what they wanted. While we waited we enjoyed the ambiance. We took out our cameras and took lots of pics. I was in the area and wanted to get a relatively fast dinner. The menu is a mix of local foods and barbecue. Prices are what you would expect and the inside was clean and bright. Workers were friendly and service was fast. I decided to get the BBQ mixed plate which comes with kalbi-style ribs, beef and chicken. The ribs and beef were thin cut which also means it was not tough. The taste is your typical local style teriyaki sauce that is on the sweeter side. We walk-in at 11:05 pm and we were greeted to "are you guys planning on dining in"? We answered yes, the employee informed us that the dine in area is closed. The chicken katsu plate is a good deal... but it didn't come with katsu sauce. Nothing was said about adding sauce so maybe they forgot? I'm really bummed to write this review because we used to really like Oh My Grill. The last time we came we had a bad experience but was willing to give them another chance because of the previous times we've came and enjoyed the food. We chose Oh My Grill to cater for a party we had this weekend. Placing an online order wasn't any issue at all, and we could do it the day prior which was great. They kept advertising this delivery service they had but when we put in our address they said they couldn't deliver to Kapolei. But it's fine, we didn't mind driving a little bit to pick up the food. We were lucky enough to get a parking stall right in front of the restaurant. Our pick up time was at 10:30AM. When we arrived to the restaurant, there was ONE party seated and waiting to be helped and two DoorDash drivers waiting to be helped. I'm talking about entire place empty and the workers standing around probably counting how many panels were on the ceiling. From the doorway, I could see our five party trays just sitting out and it was already 10:45. I was irritated at this point because nobody even acknowledged us when we walked in or asked what we needed. I went up to the workers that were hanging out by the kitchen and asked if we could be helped because we were just standing around for 15 min when our order pickup was 10:30. They weren't apologetic at all and I just showed them my receipt so I could get my order. Another thing that bugged me was that we had five LARGE party trays and we weren't offered any help at all. I know that's not an obligation but it would have been appreciated because there was only two of us and had to walk back and forth with these huge, hot large pans. Btw, the people helping us was Eugene and Jao (not sure about spelling). When I asked their names they were mumbling and I had to ask again. Don't give customer service like that and be afraid to tell me your name. The trays we got were: char siu fried rice, spam fried noodles, garlic shrimp, beef broccoli, and mochiko chicken. Everyone liked the food for the most part and for ~50 people we had a good amount of food and everyone was able to bring home leftovers. The mochiko chicken was a hit with everyone and we actually had no leftovers of that. The noodles were pretty dry and the char siu rice didn't have that much flavor. We had all the food on warmers and refrigerated it after cooling off, so we were surprised when the beef broccoli, noodles and rice spoiled literally the next morning. So that was a major waste. Overall, MAYBE we would come back. I think we still have hopes because of the previous times we've dined in. But every time we come back, the experience tends to get worse. We've been here a few times but our last visit was not up to par. We waited to be seated and were told to take any table. The closest table was near the door and I had to wait for someone to finish using the condiments table next to it to sit down. Shortly after I was able to sit, a server dropped off menus, water and utensils. She returned Shortly after to take our orders. I ordered the Pork Chop Katsu with a ice coffee float. This seemed to throw the server off and she looked at me bewildered. I then said "Iced Coffee Gelato Float" thinking she would recognize it from how it's written in the menu. Still she had a blank stare so I opened the menu and pointed it out. As she prepared to walk away, she informed me that they only had Kona Coffee Ice Cream and I said that would be fine. Then she inquired if I ordered the Pork Chop Katsu. Kitchen seems to send out the meals as they do them. Appears they are unable to time the cooking so a tables order comes out together. My Katsu arrived well before my wife's Seafood Chicken Combo. I also noted that it was the same for other tables. A couple of large parties had some of them almost finished with their meals before the last one was served. Our table felt like we were in a sub-zero freezer. The ceiling AC unit just dumped down cold air. By the time we were finished, both of us were shivering. We never saw our server after she brought out our meals. We attempt to get any ones attention but it was not use. I ended up going up to counter and asked the cashier for our bill and a box for my wife's leftovers. Good food, good service and an impressive menu. You could eat there every day for two weeks and not order the same thing twice.
