Tonight was my first night doing yoga. I joined my aunt in the "slow mo" class. I had a tough start as this was an entire new experience for me. I jumped into it not really knowing what to expect. Luckily, the staff was so nice and tried their best to make me feel comfortable. Thanks to Ohana Moon, I overcame mental and physical challenges class. I probably looked like a total goof, but thankfully the staff was there to help me through it. P.S: they have the cutest boutique shop in the front lobby! So bought some yoga classes as a gift didn't know there was a catch....what kind of gift card expires isn't that illegal if anything it's a scam. If it's paid for who cares when they are used. Do not go to this place they will find a way to rip U off. No class at all. What a shame. read more

I arranged for a private class as a team building event. We had a range of different experience levels with Yoga and Gretta expertly put together a class for us to help with stretching, breathing and stress relief. The class room was clean, and welcoming and she was able to find something for all of us. I was concerned that it might be a bit much but she helped give direction and support for my coworkers to make them feel comfortable. We all felt so relaxed after the class, that one of our teammates who couldn't participate instantly noticed a difference in how relaxed we looked. Such a wonderful studio. They have a variety of classes, inclusive of all degrees of experience. Everyone who works there is so friendly. Dana at the front is so sweet. She always says "Have the best day" as you leave which in turns makes me have the best day!! Greta and Joyce are my two favorite instructors. I had a wonderful and challenging experience here. This was my first time attending at this studio and I did the Slow Flow class with Sara. She was amazing to say the least. It'd been at least six years since the last time I did yoga and this class was perfect with plenty of opportunities to take a break if you needed it. Challenging for major muscle groups, stabilizer muscles, and plenty of great stretches. Sara was a blast and I will definitely attend one of her classes again! P.S. prepare to sweat! read more

I've been coming to Ohana Moon Yoga for just over 2 and a half years! This place has changed my life for the better in more ways than I can count! The atmosphere is so peaceful, and the instructors are AMAZING! I've met great people and made some phenomenal friends here. Before I came here I was in fair to poor health (at best), and I lived an extremely sedentary life. I had never taken a yoga class, and was constantly depressed. Now I regularly attend at least 5 yoga classes a week. I've lost almost 30 pounds and am in the best shape I've been in over a decade. Such a great studio! My first class a few weeks ago was with Greta - and her energy is fabulous! I enjoyed it so much I've been coming to classes almost daily ever since. All of the instructors I've met have been great, each with a different style and pace but all are engaging and relatable (something I find very important to my practice). The studio itself is lovely, quite large with a nice entry room, and the staff are always kind and inviting. There is a good balance of power, flow, and yin classes offered, making for a very well rounded experience. Only good things to say so far! read more

They just opened and I have to give props to my mom and brother who told me about this gem during my holiday visit. First thing I have to mention is they've got a ***$30 for 30 days*** deal for new students. So if you're anywhere near Folsom / El Dorado Hills, you gotta get in on that! I absolutely adore this studio; it is warm, friendly and reminiscent of a select few of the cozier studios that I've practiced in San Francisco. The young owners (a Hawaiian man and his lovely wife) are so friendly and made me feel right at home as a new student. I've had the pleasure of trying a few of the power flow practices, which, to my delight, were far from the super duper he-man power flows you find at other studios. No, they're not trying to pack in these crazy sequences, or a gazillion chattarungas in one session. The best way I can describe is a flow that makes YOU feel powerful. Definitely advanced, but nothing cray cray. Warm, friendly, and good vibes all around. AHHH, SOOO refreshing. read more

I wanted to go get a workout in while visiting Mom from the Bay Area and she came along, too. It was a nice mother-daughter​ day and she's continued to go and LOVES it! That was a year ago and Mom still goes on a regular basis. I love how many payment options they have. It makes it easy to get a feel for it before deciding on a class by class basis, monthly, or annual plan. I've practiced in places all over the world and have to suggest this to everyone; from beginners to those with more experience you'll get a great workout in a fantastically positive and nourishing​ environment. Love this place! My friend Gabby introduced me to their $5 Drop in on Fridays which is easing me into working out. The owner, Gretta teaches the Power hour class and it kicks my butt! I have been noticing a change and I do look forward to coming each week. She has such a positive energy and makes you feel very welcomed no matter what level of yoga you are! This yoga studio is amazing! I am new to yoga and already hooked with the power vinyasa class! It has a great flow from being to end with a nice amp up! Gretta is a wonderful instructor and owner! She makes you feel confident and comfortable! The feel of the studio is comfortable and beautiful. They have any amenity you could need.. there's extra mats towels and changing rooms. There is also a comfortable waiting area if you have older kids or someone waiting for you while in class. If you are new like me or a seasoned yogi this is the place for you! I'm not a hippie tree hugger type, so I usually don't feel like I fit in at most yoga studios. I go in, get my workout in, and leave. I don't stick around to talk with others about kale or incense. But I feel so at home at Ohana. Which, by the way, means family. The owners, Brian and Gretchen are so friendly and helpful. They remembered me by name from day one, making me feel like more than just a paying customer. My only complaint would be for more heated classes. Yin is so much better in a warm room, where your muscles can stretch easier. read more

Love Ohana! A friend invited me to a vinyasa flow class because I needed a new workout. I had no idea what to expect. My exposure to yoga was PBS and the lady in a pink leotard stretching. Not my idea of a workout but my friend is no slug so I said I would try. That was three years ago. Now I go three to four times per week. I am much stronger than I have ever been in my life both physically and emotionally because of Ohana. You truly learn what you are made of. Yoga is tough just like life is. Yoga with Gretta and the other instructors can help you deal with uncomfortable situations in life both in and out of the studio. I have never been to any other studio to compare but I have heard this place is exceptional. Other studios are nothing like it. I dread the day I move and will need to find a new studio. read more

There is just a great vibe at this studio... I've been to other studios in the area and nothing compares. The owners are very welcoming and beyond helpful. There is a class for everyone and I mean everyone. The best part is not all the classes are hot which I personally think is amazing because sometimes I just want to focus and improve my practice instead of sweat and try to keep up. I really appreciate that the teachers at Ohana are more on the spiritual side and really help and encourage you make a connection with yourself. LOVE this place. I'm totally new to hot yoga. I've been going to their power vinyasa classes with Gretta on Monday nights. They make you feel like ANYONE is welcome and able to do hot yoga but they never push or make you feel obligated to do anything that doesn't feel good with the poses and stretching and such. Gretta will encourage you to keep going and don't quit with the conditioning so you will push yourself, but fitness is one of the main reasons to go! The people working the front are super nice and easy to talk to and everything is really clean. Those things are so important to me! read more
