We agreed on a price and I was ready to go but he suggested I get it just before leaving so I could enjoy the sun and the beach as much as possible. (I hadn't even thought about that even though it was my 13th tat) When I went back for my appointment he had modified the War God Tiki I wanted to include some Polynesian triangle designs above and below the Tiki. I loved his suggestion and he did it for the same original price. Took just over an hour maybe 1-1/2 hrs. Very clean shop and very sterile conscious! Cool place. Thanks as always Yelp for the recommendation and message features! I was contacted immediately and set up for an appointment the next day. I was running late and had no issues. They were patient and accommodating. They heard it was my bday and gave me some cake! There was also a practice penis prop they let me play with....that didn't sound right...whatever see the pictures. Lol. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because my turtle isn't as clean as I wish he was AND the price was confusing. I paid a $42 deposit at least I thought it was a deposit because when it was time to pay that amount wasn't considered in my total. All together I paid $210 including tip. I'm not tripping off the total as I know it's a vacation spot and tats aren't cheap. The price communication was just off which is very important. read more

Location good for Waikiki tourists or folks who live in town: Shop is tiny and the vibe was not fun or welcoming. I'm pretty sure they are not looking out for your best interest (especially if you are an annoying tourist on limited time and desperate to get that ink souvenir to show off back home). Based on our experience, I'm wondering if their tactic is to collect deposits to get scheduled and then tell people on the day of appointment why they should reconsider their tattoo...when the staff could have just done that before agreeing to do the tattoo, collecting the deposit, and continuing to schedule. Kamu was helpful, patient and didn't rush us, unlike the other artist we booked at the same time for our couple's tattoo. The other guy just grabbed his things , answered that he was going home after Kamu asked, and he walked out of the shop. I recommend next time the artists do a better job in coming inside and talking to the inquiring clients directly before a deposit is put down, instead of having the office girl who doesn't know anything, relay messages. The tattoo artists were just hanging outside anyways. We are not even tourists and I can't help but feel like they did us dirty like that. I hope they enjoy our deposit, we wasted our time, decided not to get ink that day, and will not come back here. This shop is not for us. read more

This place is a new shop, and was the only one in the Waikiki area that had a short time for walk-ins when my fiancé and I wanted to get a tattoo the same day. I got mine done by Karl and my fiancé got a matching tattoo from Matt. Both were small tattoos (see photos attached) and the artists were extremely professional. Since this was my first tattoo, I was a nervous wreck and the whole shop definitely knew and worked to ease my fears about the pain (which, by the way, is really not too bad). Karl not only accurately explained to me how the tattoo would be feeling when getting it done, but answered the hundreds of questions I had about it in a very calm and patient manner. The guys were also really funny and joked around with me a lot, which also made me a lot less nervous! The process itself was really not too bad and everything was sterilized and handled in a professional manner. After-care was discussed at length and I walked out of there a very happy person. Interesting experience. Went to get a small tattoo with my siblings that took less than 30 minutes and they charged $200 each. To make matters worse, the tattoo was wrapped in a paper towel and tape? What an incredible experience made only better by Daniel. My first tattoo and I am so overjoyed about the piece as well as the journey. A little history, my tattoo is an edelweiss flower which is cherished by my family - my mother's favorite flower and song. So, when my mother passed in 2020 - I decided to finally (after 25 years of consideration), get a tattoo. I have a couple of friends that are tattoo artists that no longer live on the island, so I asked one of them for a reference and he said to see Daniel at SAS. I stalked Daniel on IG for a bit - looking at his art - and was super impressed finally sending him a msg. He responded quickly and was so positive! After sending him photos of the flower we made an appt. Fast forward - I walk in and we discuss the flower - I'm not even sure where to put it, but have always wanted a foot tattoo. Daniel was really cool and did a small water test - since I was told this area is painful - sold. Foot tat it is...and I am so impressed - Daniel literally took my messy thoughts and pics and translated that into a piece of art that I will cherish forever. September 2023: The vibe of the tattoo shop is regular. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The lady who gave us the forms, etc was super kind and prepping us.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I was the only one that had Kaina. The rest of my friends had someone else. During the prep, he had to reposition my arm. The template of the tattoo where it peels off and it shows the ink. He redid that 3 TIMES! I got worried and didn't want to do my tattoo anymore at that point. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Kaina insisted that's he's "trying" and I shouldn't worry. His demeanor was rude and just off. He seemed upset. No smile or anything.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] After it was done, my friends told me it looked nice but one pointed out that it looks crooked. I stood by the mirror and she was right. I couldn't redo it at all. The over all price though for a small/mini tattoo was ranging from $200-$250. My friends and I both got mini tattoos. It was ridiculous. We never went back here again to get our tattoos. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I DM the girl the next day explaining what happened. She apologized and said that Kaina was going through some stuff due to the Maui Fires so his pricing maybe a little different.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I explained how all of us paid $200 or over for a mini tattoo and she even agreed it's ridiculous but out of her control.
