So glad we made a reservation here! Our food was delicious, perfectly seasoned and appealing plated. I had the fish special and the savory spices were perfectly complimented by sweet roasted root veggies and Brussel sprouts. Hubs had the tomahawk pork chop which was seasoned well and very tender. This is the place my brother's family chose to have the rehearsal dinner at on the night before my niece's wedding and it was wonderful! Her uncle was in the restaurant business so I knew it would be good if he chose it and we certainly weren't disappointed. We went through a cafeteria-style line to choose our food--my mother and I got a steak or prime rib that had a rich flavor and was melt-in-your-mouth tender. It was so good we didn't have any leftovers. The atmosphere was very comfortable and friendly and we all had a great time. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. Bon appetite! I came for lunch because they're not cheap and I'm on a budget but I enjoyed my lunch very much. It was $10.75 for the main course and one side. I got the shepherd's pie and they didn't ask me what I wanted as a side but they gave me some delicious sauteed vegetables so I was fine with that. On a whim I ordered one of their delicious looking desserts, The Salted Caramel cake. It was Heavenly. The only negative issue I had at all was that it took forever to get a to-go box for my leftovers. There just didn't seem to be many waiters wandering around and when they did they shot through the room fast without looking from side to side so there was no way to catch their attention without yelling, which I preferred not to do. Bar tender Dustin was ask if any peanut oils were used in food prep as a person in our party is highly allergic. Response was that it was safer to eat at home. The is a "go to" when in Amarillo. It's in the heart of downtown and near several hotels. The broccoli appetizer is amazing! Traveled all day and first time in Amarillo. We were recommended to Ohms by a local whom we asked for recommendations for an excellent steak and amazing wine. We were not disappointed!! I ordered the Seared Organic Elk Tenderloin and my husband had the Beef Filet au Poivre, both excellent! But our favorite part of the evening was finding 3 wines on the wine list from our favorite wine maker, Kirk Venge (Calistoga, Napa Valley, Ca)...Scouts Honor, Silencieux, and Croix. Our congratulations to the Sommelier on their excellent taste in wines! Can't wait to come back to Ohms to try the Lamb Lollipops and more Venge. read more

Definitely save this place for a special occasion since it is very pricey but perfect for birthdays or anniversaries! The outside of the restaurant is nothing fancy or special but once you go in you will see flowers and candles on all the black tablecloths around the dining area. There is a nice bar as well if you prefer to just come in for drinks. If there's only ONE thing you get here try the Barbecue Duck Steamed Buns! They only give you 2 for $10 but it was totally worth it. We had the Elk Tenderloin as our entree and we only thought it was OK. The duck steamed buns greatly overshadowed it. read more

How did I not know about this place earlier? OHMS is located downtown Amarillo. You walk in and it isn't a big place at all, you're welcomed at the front and have a view of the bar. We were seated rather quickly and our server was great. She knew the menu front and back and was able to tell us all the details of the specials. We really enjoyed our time here and had 8 people. Choices ranged from the elk tenderloin to the ribeye steak. We also tried their take on an asian inspired beef tartare which was amazing. Now I have had a couple of steaks in my life but their ribeye steak was amazing. Perfectly seared with nice crunch and flavor. I think there was even garlic butter on top. The mac and cheese that came along with the plate was delicious as well. This place would be a perfect place to take someone out on a date and have a nice glass of wine. read more

Great food but not the place during a pandemic even for takeout - Ordered our takeout via the phone and set a pickup time. My wife ordered the blackend salmon rare and I had the elk also rare. We had the crostini appetizer and the cashew chocolate cake. The salmon and elk were prepared perfectly and very tasty. The crostini was more like a bruschetta but delicious. The sweet corn risotto with my elk was so salty (and I love salt) I couldn't eat it. The cake was very unusual and extremely delicious. My issue with OHMS was when I walked in to pick up our food the bar was PACKED with no one wearing masks. And when the hostess came up to me to ask why I was there she pulled down her mask and leaned into me. The restaurant seemed packed. I know this is Texas and many in this area don't seem to believe we have a pandemic but first time getting take out I felt extremely uncomfortable. read more

Tucked away in a funky, historic building, this place does a brisk lunch business, especially to the business crowd. Dinners looked really unique w/items like elk tenderloin and various risottos, but I came for lunch, and it's "cafeteria style," where you wait in line at the counter and select from various entrees for $9.75 (add fresh mixed green salad for $1.50 or soup for $2.50). Everything looked great, but finally decided on the chicken Marbella (w/ a wonderful Spanish sauce of capers, olives, plums, garlic and red wine vinegar), side of sautéed veggies (excellent) and side of pasta w/ pesto and Brie - incredible. We went here as a date night while my honey was in town and I was living here. This is probably one of the nicest if not nicest place to dine out in Amarillo. It seems to cater a lot to out of town guests staying in the hotels in the area. It is a in a bit of a strange area, but the ambiance is very dim and intimate. We had excellent service, and the cocktails weren't too bad but pricey. Everything here is pricey as with any fine dining experience. They have quite a bit of interesting art scattered around. We split the fried egg salad which I really enjoyed and also got the sesame crusted oysters which were pretty yummy. I got the fish special of the day which was OK but not very overwhelming. The ribeye was also OK but their mac and cheese that came with it was very good and had a nice twist with the green chiles. Overall, for the price it was just OK. It seems like Amarillo is about 10 years behind the times with everything, which might just be indicative of the panhandle. I think it is a very nice out for those that live here, but if you are from out of town then don't expect anything mind blowing. read more

We ordered the fried egg salad (because of other yelp reviews), ribeye, and their pork tenderloin. Fried egg salad - nothing fancy about it. It's a regular salad with an egg that was fried. Tasted like a normal salad. Not worth it Ribeye - pretty good. Tender meat and cooked medium rare just right. The Mac n cheese it came with was also good. Had a spicy kick to it, but delicious nonetheless Pork tenderloin - Some pieces were tender, some were dry and tough. The potato hash side it came with was too peppery. Took a long time for just the salad to come out. Then even longer for the main dishes to come out. And after the waiter brought out food out, we didn't see him til the end of our meal. This family-operated fine dining establishment has been a long-time favorite of mine mostly because they offer a variety of fresh, hand-crafted dishes that just can't be found anywhere else in town. The service is excellent, every customer is treated like a VIP, and the wait staff is very professional and well-trained. If there is one point that I can't stress enough, the food is phenomenal. The menu changes seasonally based on the freshness of the ingredients available, but year round one can expect to see the freshest seafood, elk, duck, and so much more. This is a pricy establishment, but one that is definitely worth the money for any foodie. Absolutely wonderful for an intimate date night, or any occasion worth celebrating. Tip: Make reservations! Walk-ins are almost impossible to accommodate on busy nights. This restaurant doesn't exactly have a kid's menu, and at $30+ per plate it would probably be wise to get the little ones a snack beforehand... Unless they're little foodies in training! read more

I have fallen in love with this place! I have been here twice in a month. I do however have one small issue. It is the reason for only 4 stars. First trip, service was fine. Nothing too bad happened. This trip, ordered drinks. I got Coke, husband had to wait 10 minutes for his drink. So when he was halfway done he ordered another. We got our Tuna Poke (out of this world amazing), my husband's drink empty. I again asked about his drink, was told it was coming up. Finished the Tuna poke, and mine without a drink. When she came again I asked about it. She was like "Totally my fault" and went and ordered it. He got his drink and then our food came. My coke is now empty. After 15 minutes she brings another drink for both of us. I didn't order desert for fear we would never see her again. I will go back, but hopefully will not have the same waitress! read more

Well I had high hopes based on the other ratings. Asked what the best item was on the menu as I was going back and forth between the lamb and the pork chop. The polenta cakes got me to my decision. Ordered the chop and a Caesar salad. The lettuce was soggy although I liked the dressing. As I was eating my salad I was notified by my server that they were out of the polenta cakes. OMG.....that is what was calling me .....so I ordered the lamb. I asked for medium but got well done. The smoke sweet potatoes sounded interesting but were underwhelming. All in all....a miss for me.
