This was my first time eating at OHSO. I was debating between trying the chicken and waffles or the hot chicken and biscuits. I ended up getting the chicken and waffles. It was pleasant. The meal also came with a monster mimosa, which was a big highlight for me! You can choose between a 10oz beer or a mimosa with any brunch item. I really liked the vibe of this brewery. They had a patio section with mist outside. The brunch menu had some good options to choose from and the place is pet friendly. They also offer complimentary valet parking which is a huge plus in my opinion! This is an awesome place for the mid point of your ride. Pull right up to the patio along the canal & park your ride. They'll even loan you a bike lock if you need one. Super friendly staff and a fantastic menu will keep you coming back. I dove into the short rib taco board and was not disappointed. Great beers on their rotating tap are a must try. I walked in with my two dogs this past Tuesday afternoon. I like OHSO beers but have never been to this location, located right off the Arizona Canal. What a fun place to stop in for a beer after riding a bicycle. I stopped in after hiking a few miles in South Mountain Park with my dogs. The host asked me where I wanted to sit, at a counter or in a high booth? I wasn't sure what my dogs preferred, so I settled for a sunny spot by the counter. This proved to be a busy spot as other dogs and their people were walking by. Perhaps a high booth would have been better for my dogs, sitting out of sight and mind. Who wants to listen to dogs barking while having lunch? I sure don't. I'm a dog lover and dog owner and understand. Anyway, beer and service were, as usual, topnotch. I had two types of their Hefeweizen and a BBQ chicken sandwich. My dogs settled in nicely and didn't mind the little yappy dogs around them. This restaurant has the aura of a busy biergarten, and I like it for that. Kudos to my server who kicked butt the entire time. I will be back. read more

Stopped here after landing in Phoenix for a quick bite and drink. They had just opened and were very accommodating when I asked to sit at the outside bar on the patio which is right by the bike path. We visited this location to visit with friends that were in town. It's smaller than some of the others and was not busy. I think the issue is that the food was not good. I've been to OHSO in Gilbert and the food was fine. I ordered salmon and it was the smallest piece of fish I've ever seen. It was good but not great for the price. My partner had a burger that he asked for medium well and it was raw. The chicken strips we ordered were burnt. Environment was fine but food wasn't great. read more

Been here a few times and I'm just not crazy about the food. Most recently we went and got the cheese curds, pretzel, and I got the salmon tacos. The cheese curds said they were jalapeño but I didn't get much heat from them. The pretzel wasn't much better than frozen pretzels you can made at home. The salmon tacos come deconstructed and with no side, which considering the price for them, isn't worth it. The salmon also tasted more charred than blackened, which was disappointing. I haven't had a meal that has impressed me here yet. Also, it has a tiny parking lot - however typically there is a free valet if your comfortable with that. The ups to OHSO, the service is typically good (unless it's weekend brunch, then it's not the greatest) and the patio is extremely dog friendly (with water bowls and dog treats). read more

I stopped in on a random Monday because it was close to the hotel. I was extremely surprised with what I got. I started with a Kremlin Calling, a pleasant red ale brewed in house. For my meal, I had the PBJ Burger with no cheddar. Oh my. I never go out of my way to leave a review. This was in my top 3 best burgers I've ever gotten from a restaurant. The siracha compliments the jam to make a wonderful sweet/spicy mix. All of it topped with crunchy onions. I ordered extra siracha aioli to dip the fries. Last beer was a 98ale, which was a very solid amber ale. Great atmosphere with other patrons. We all watched a basketball game. The staff was attentive and friendly. If I wasn't traveling I'd bring my dog. 6/5 stars if it was possible. read more

This is by far my favorite OHSO location and honestly my favorite "go-to" place for a casual bite to eat and/or a drink. The back patio is very spacious, lots of seating there, a good size bar, and STUNNING views of the mountains. Also conveniently located next to the Arizona Canal Trail so you can ride your bike here or walk. I also love brining my pup along with me and OHSO is super dog friendly (it should honestly be part of a tagline for them, OHSO- where the dogs go, just kidding I obviously am not a copy writer! They don't have any dog menu items but they have free homemade dog treats! This is also usually where my friends and I come to celebrate dog birthdays as well! Onto food...there really not much you can go wrong with on their menu. I'm loyal to any of the boards, salads, and anything on the brunch menu. I also love their Buffalo chicken dip but I will say sometimes it's more buffalo-ie (heat) some days than others, but that just tells me it's made special each day. Drinks...being a brewery they're of course known for their beer which is never a bad choice. If you're not feeling that they offer a decent selection of wine and cocktails too. You also cannot beat their Happy hour- open-6pm Monday through Friday, $8 for a beer pitcher/wine/ or cocktail along with some select menu items for $5 and $10. read more

He steps away and puts in the order. I look straight ahead and caught him mid conversation with another server literally complaining about the exchange he had with me. I would never expect servers to not have anything bad to say about exchanges with customers, that's unrealistic. Super convenient for bicycle riders, walkers, joggers and runners since they have an entrance right of the canal path and plenty of bicycle parking. The menu had a great choice of items and they do happy hour from 3pm-6pm during the week. They patio can be a little loud but not too bad and the music was good. Had a good time at this place. Went on Friday night and it really wasn't too busy which was nice. They have a great outdoor area that is cooled with lots of fans so can sit outside comfortably. The beers and wine were really good and served in a frosted mug! Great prices. I also really appreciated the charitable donations to mental health services. Food was just okay. Tasted somewhat bland and my sandwich bottom bun was so soggy I actually thought they had forgotten to put one on. Overall would come here again! Oh and the service was excellent. read more

Good place for beer and they have some vegan options. We came here for the beer, which is solid. We also saw online that they have some vegan options, though their in-person menu does not clearly specify this. Online, the hummus plate ($14) is listed as vegan, but it does not come default vegan (there's dairy in the pesto, and apparently the pita isn't vegan), so they can sub the pita for tortilla chips and omit the pesto -- fine. The hummus was good and they gave us extra veggies for dipping. The hummus also comes drizzled with a little honey, which is a nice accompaniment. Pretty solid snack item. Service is a bit slow, but friendly enough. Not primarily a food destination, so I don't recommend it on those grounds. One of AZ's better breweries. read more

The food was great, staff was kind an amazing, I just wish there was more staff to take care of customers. We were not attended to until about 10-15 minutes after being seated. I've been to OHSO quite a few times and am always impressed! They have plenty of parking and seats. Service is excellent! I am gluten free and ordered the chicken salad, which was delicious. I already ate some of my salad in the picture but the portion was huge. Tried some of my husband's burger which I realized was also gluten free with a potato bun. OHSO is...so-so. Ok, seriously, it's just OK. There are definitely pros, and equally, cons. The pros: Location, location, location (Arcadia, duh...). (Small) Dog friendly! The view of Camelback. Generally a good selection of draft beers. The attempt of a vegan and/or gluten free menu. Cons: Not the best for large or XL dogs; there simply isn't any room or cozy space unless allowed to sit at the table and counter surf (our greys are NOT allowed because the have manners!) This is a bummer for large dog owners. A poor selection of truly gluten reduced beers. While Omission Pale Ale is great, Omission IPA, Stone Delicious IPA, or Stone Features and Benefits are better choices. It is also unfortunate the lines are not truly flushed between gluten reduced beers so those with gluten issues can enjoy the local selections. The food is nothing special. Also, I ordered the vegan buffalo cauliflower, which I clearly specified MUST be vegan, and it was brought with butter because the bartender didn't know the difference. Fortunately, another server ran out and stopped me before I ate it. When it was replaced, it just OK. My husband ordered the pretzels and said they weren't very good either (and how do you mess up a soft pretzel?!). Anyway, OHSO is usually pretty busy and can be a fun time. I just don't find it that remarkable overall, but I do enjoy going once in a while to sit on the back patio. read more
