I have always serviced my vehicles through the dealerships service department. My Trailhawk is out of warrenty and needed to have the engine oil changed but I did not want the hassle of setting an appointment at the dealership and then waiting 90 minutes for a simple oil change. I Yelped oil change for Walnut Creek and Oil Changers came up with 4+ stars. I drove down and was 3rd in line. About 15 minutes pass and I was in the garage with a team of mechanics tending to my Jeep as if I was in the pit area at the Indy 500. They worked quick and as far as I could tell without mistake. All of this happening while I remain in the car. The technicians were friendly and let you know every move every step of the way. Within 10 minutes they were taking my credit card and guiding me out of the garage. So, with such a stellar review why only 4 stars and not 5? They forgot to reset my computer on the jeep to let me know when to change my oil next and therefore I had to go back. And, although I got $5.00 off for checking in with Yelp, it still cost me around $47.00 for the full service oil change. It cost less at the dealership and they rotate my tires. Will I go back? I called to ask about wait time and was told 10 minutes. As I was close by, I drove in. There were already 5 cars waiting. I sat for 30 minutes without anyone asking how they could help. If I could give this zero stars I would. My boyfriend and I recently moved to the area and my boyfriend works in concord and came to them before, he said that they had charged him $200+ dollars and all he had asked for was an oil change. 2nd time around I came with him and as soon as we got there one of the workers was yelling at him to turn his wheels so he can get on the platform right, he was annoyed because we had showed up maybe 25min before closing im guessing. He was rude and had an attitude the entire time, one of the other workers was talking and my boyfriend thought he was talking to him so my boyfriend asked what he was saying or if he was talking to him and he said no. That same worker came over and started to clean the car windshield and my boyfriend thanked him for it and the worker spoke Spanish saying "let me clean his windshield before he tries to fight me" in Spanish, i was SHOCKED and the worker who initially was being rude in the first place told him "dude i got your back". I was disgusted and once they realized I was hispanic and knew what they had said they both went down the stairs and never came back up and left us sitting in our car for 10min and someone else had to come up and help us. The service was horrible and if my boyfriend would have known what they had said he would have been PISSED. As I have gotten older, I have realized that my time is more valuable. So I now would rather pay a little more money to get things done faster. I hadn't been to Oil Changers 3000 in years because of the price but got tired of how long the Shell station down the street would take, even through they were only 20 bucks. PROS: * you don't even have to get out of your car, takes about 15 minutes (once they start) * they actually do the extra inspection that other places say that they'll do (but don't actually) * 4 oil changes for the price of 3 (at the time I paid $125), you get a plastic card like a gift card (back in the day you used to get paper coupons!) CONS: * I went one time after work and waited about an hour until it was my turn. I suppose that was my mistake, there is often no line at other times like lunch. * It's not 20 bucks! But that's ok, I am paying for convenience. read more

I usually change my own oil but I needed one because I was heading down in SoCal. I came in today around 2pm at the oil changers and surprisingly, I saw their gates closed down but there were still some employees inside the shop. Online and at their door states that this shop closes at 5pm on Sundays. So I waited until Terence came up to my window. He claims that their shop closed at 2pm. Jokingly, I asked if they closed 3 hours early because of the Superbowl. He answers "Yes, we actually are". That right there shows what kind of business they're running. I love this place. LOVE THEM. Such a great group of guys who are helpful, kind, respectful, and damn good at their jobs. I started going to them for quick and efficient oil changes since they are just around the corner from where I work, but will go to them for pretty much anything I can now. At my most recent oil change they gave me an estimate for some regular maintenance since I'm at 140K miles, and the estimate was very affordable and far more reasonable than if I were to go to a dealer or many other shops. I had just paid rent and couldn't afford it all at the time (the woes of a 30 year-old non-profit employee), but I had a few of them done including a much needed air filter change! They got everything done fast and I told them I'd return on pay day to finish the rest. When I was paying they had me check-in on Facebook so I could use a $5 off coupon. Then, the following morning while pulling into work, the bottom of my car hit something in the parking lot which caused what I think is the plastic guard to partially come off. When I was leaving that night I realized how bad it was - I couldn't drive without it dragging on the pavement, with the most awful scraping sound. It wouldn't be safe to drive the 40 minutes back home to Berkeley, so unsure of what to do I carefully drove down the street to Oil Changers with a look of terror and begged, "HELP ME." And help me they did! Mark quickly got to work putting everything back where it was supposed to, and in under 15 minutes. When it was all done and I pulled out my credit card to pay, he told me not to worry about it and that he'd see me in a couple weeks when I had planned to come in so they can finish the regular maintenance work. He easily could have charged me for that - most places probably would have. I think it speaks to the kind of business they run and the kind of business I want to support. I have been going to Oil Changers for most 20 yrs to the San Pablo location. We moved last summer and I and my wife have gone to the Concord location 3 times. This was my second time and I will NOT be going back to this location again. The were very uncaring of the customer. They didn't check my fan belt, they didn't check any of my cables nor top off any other fluids other than just changing my oil. They did not go over my print out to discuss any future needs with the summer months starting. They did not at the end do a visual of my radiator, no windshield wiper fluids. They never clean windshield and when the guy came for me to sing the paper he didn't even say thank you he put the clipboard at my stearin wheel and pointed when he wanted me to sign it. CHECK YOUR FLUIDS IMMEDIATELY AFTER SERVICE. For some reason, they....forgot....to flush the transmission fluid I paid to have done. Verified by 3 reliable mechanics. Also didn't flush or even top off coolant. Even washer fluid was bone dry and cap was off. They did do the service with no charge when I brought it back....but I have been trusting them for years with my oil changes and light maintenance. No longer. read more

BEST PLACE IN TOWN! I'm not taking my car anywhere else for a nice quick oil change ever again. Service staff was quick and extremely professional, you could even hear them going through their checks with one another working as a team should. The courtesy "Top Off Policy" was also a nice surprise considering I had been out of windshield wiper fluid for several months and was actually planning to go to Oreily's right after this stop. 10/10 will come here again! I've been here twice. The first time was a few years ago when I had a Toyota. I have a different car now and I've forgotten how everything works at this location. All I could remember was it didn't take very long to get an oil change. So when I pulled in, (there was a car ahead of me) I got out of the car. I saw the sign to stay inside the vehicle. Yes, I did! Plus I know it didn't pass as a state law that you can't get out of the car when getting an oil change. I wanted to clarify if they were still taking customers or if I have to prepay etc. The manager was coming out and he was sarcastic and rude. I told him that I didn't know the system and he then gave me a straight answer. I guess this was the clown that the other reviewers were talking about. I came in closed to 4pm. And I didn't know if they had a cut off like some other places do. I went back to my car and after a few minutes the staff came up to me with a clip board and asked me to fill out my name and address and he said he could probably figured out the "rest". Well I filled out the "rest". He was apologizing and much nicer to me this time. He was saying he was the only one doing the input and the computer wasn't working. In other words, he was having a bad day. And I get it. The way this place works is you get in line with other cars and you wait until someone comes to you with a clip board. FYI, there's two lanes. Then you drive into a car bay where they would do the oil change while you're still sitting inside your car. A staff on the ground will fill the oil reservoir and top off the other fluids. He would also check the tire pressure and clean the windshield. He'd also ask you turn your engine on and to signal left and right as well as step on your brakes. Then the staff below the ground would drain the oil and replace the oil filter. After everything is done they'll give you your receipt and take your payment. If you're lucky, you're out of there in less than 30 minutes like I did. I was on a bind and really needed an oil change. My mechanic couldn't do it because it was a last minute call. I left work an hour early. And indeed, this place met that need. The rude experience would've made this a one or a two star review but I understand and he apologized. And he was nice to me the rest of my time there. One thing though was that the other staff that helped me, even though he was nice he seemed not very competent. He moved around like he was lost. When he asked me to turn my lights on etc, I couldn't hardly hear him. He was too far from me. At times he was mumbling. Why was he telling me this while he was away from me? He should've told me first what he was going to do and then yell it out to me after. Then when I asked him to reset my oil change warning light, he didn't have a clue. I've never had to reset a light and I don't want to look at the manual. This is why I came here. He then called a second guy who just gave him a look. Then a third guy, he was nice but had to google it on his phone. And after he figured it out I was happy to get out of there. Very happy. This is my unique experience with this place. Yours might be different so give it a try. It's not that bad. I just don't go thru the above stuff with my mechanic and I'm confident that when I get my car everything was done accordingly. One good thing about this place is that they take the $5 Yelp check in coupon and I didn't experience any upsell of other services. So $41 for an oil change that's quick and on a first come first serve basis. It's very convenient. I just hope that they improve on their customer service and craft. Consistency is the key and treat everyone with respect just like you want to be treated regardless of how the other person was treating you. That's what you call professionalism. read more

So I went there yesterday , and first thing I notice is like a drive thru oil change you don't have to get out of your car , so I was like something new to me. One of the worker walk up to me and ask to turn off the engine I guess is for safety than he offer me a cold bottle of water than I got good feeling of this place hmm nice customer service.
