This is a "nobody's perfect" review with an excellent outcome due to customer service above and beyond my expectations. While in San Francisco, I had my oil changed at an Oil Changer's store.  All went well until my oil light came on, indicating "very low," during my drive back to the Concord area.  I stopped at the rental store and noticed a puddle under my vehicle.  While driving to my office, the rental store called and said that there was a huge puddle of oil on their lot where my car had been!  When I arrived at my destination, oil was flowing onto the garage floor from almost the entire bottom of the vehicle.  I immediately called Oil Changer, who's Concord store was just across the street, to complain about their companies service. Mark, the company Manager, came himself and investigated the problem.  After a few minutes of looking around, he suspected that an oil filter "O" ring must have been damaged during installation.  He went back to his shop, picked up a new oil filter (for the "O" ring) and was back within 10 minutes. He replaced the "O" ring right there and put oil in the engine to check for leaks.  Problem solved!!!  He, however, did not stop there.  He had me drive my vehicle back to his shop and performed another oil and filter change to assure the correct fill.  He then cleaned the entire undercarriage of the vehicle with grease remover, rinsed it with water, and blew all the moisture he could find off the underside of my vehicle!  That's not all.... After confirming that no leaks were present, he surprised me with another benefit, which I will not state so as not to unreasonably raise expectations! (I was very pleased with the outcome regardless!!) Mark's promise of complete customer satisfaction and the extra effort to deliver on his promise turned what could have easily been a nightmare situation into an extremely impressive interaction with his company! One last note, not only was Mark incredible to work with, all of his employees had an excellent attitudes and were also very helpful.... I'd recommend this business in a heartbeat, and would have given 6 stars if possible! read more

BEYOND THE CALL OF DUTY Today was a very interesting day at Oil Changers but what happened afterwards was beyond the call and very cool. I was driving west on Treat Blvd and my car started to act up. It eventually died in the left turn lane at Treat and Winton parallel to De La Salle HS. I'm a wheelchair user and I was stuck. I threw on the hazard lights and called Oil Changers. Much to my surprise within 5-10 minutes the Regional Manager showed up and he was under my hood trying to figure it out. Yes the Oil Changers Regional Mgr...a cool guy who I thought was named Monty. So we were both out of ideas when he went back to the station to get some spray. After returning and still not figuring out what the problem was he finally said, "I think I've found something". It turned out to be a little airborne dandelion with a feathery sort of head (we need a botanist here) that was perfectly lodged in the mass airflow sensor. So Monty performed surgery on the patient with a paper clip and successfully removed it. After the 45 minute ordeal, she was running properly and we exchanged thank yous, phone numbers and a fist punch and I was on my way home. I told him I was going to write a YELP review and texted him to get the correct spelling of his name, I said like "The Full Monty". He replied no it's Amani...ooops so now he goes by "The Full Amani". Thank you for your help, it was BEYOND THE CALL! read more

I went in for a simple oil change, and the experience was ruined by one of the employees, a fat guy with an awful attitude. From the moment I arrived, he seemed annoyed and uninterested in helping. When I asked a couple of questions about my car's oil needs, he rolled his eyes and gave short, dismissive answers, like he couldn't be bothered to explain anything. Not only was he rude, but he also seemed to take his time, dragging out what should have been a quick service. It was clear he wasn't trying to help customers, just going through the motions. I'll be taking my business elsewhere from now on and would advise anyone looking for decent service to do the same. Terrible experience. read more

I am the owner of OnTime Transportation--a local transportation business. We have been using Oil Changer for few years with our fleet's basic maintenance. I would recommend them if not for what happened yesterday. One of our Cadillac sedans completed the oils change at 4:05 pm and caught on fire only 5 miles from the oil changer. The regional manager refuse to accept any responsibility. PLEASE KEEP YOUR CARS OUT OF THAT PLACE IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO END WHERE WE ARE. We as a reputable local business has been operating for 10 years. We have never seen something like that. read more

Went today on my lunch break, not a long wait at all. Rene was the attendant and as written about in other reviews was extremely helpful. $79 after taxes for a synthetic oil change, great price. They didn't try to upsell me on anything, which was nice for a change. Gave good advice, and one of the attendants used to work at Toyota and was able to tell that my truck had previously been at the dealership for service. Nice to know these guys really do know about cars. Great price, friendly, helpful, will be going back. read more

The Oil Changer business model is geared towards upselling at every turn. Ideal customer is my wife. They can pull out all kind of doohickies to indicate fluid failures are imminent. Flushes galore, and she comes home from an 'oil change' (for which I pay $28 in Emeryville) with a bill for $323. My take is that they are designed to prey on the female of the species. Its just my take, but their upsell approach is designed to take advantage of less-than-informed consumers. read more

**Rating: 2 stars** Had a frustrating experience I was told the service would take two hours, but it ended up being almost four with barely any updates. When I got my car back, some of the specific issues I'd asked to be checked, like brakes and alignment, weren't addressed. Staff seemed dismissive when I raised my concerns, which was disappointing. I went to the Oil Changers on 7th St. in Hanford, Ca. Tino, JC, and Elias at this store did a awesome job with the service they provided my truck!!!!! ("Big Ups!!!") I was in and out of their in less than 15 minutes. Awesome.... One thing. I was not given my Veterans discount. I forgot to ask but they should have that info already. I waited in line at oil changers on Oak Grove, and just before I pulled into the bay. Another car came around me and pulled alongside me. The two guys working there told me I had to back up and allow this guy to go ahead of me even though he just got there and I've been waiting in line 20 minutes I would advise you to avoid this oil changers location read more

Upsell factory, especially for women. I want an in and out $30 oil change and this shop wants to sell me flushes and more expensive services. No, I don't want that today... Great service that can't be beat. Last time I drove in with my beat up car that needed an oil change since the beginning of history. They were able to take care of it and I was able to slide in a coupon I found in the Entertainment Books. Really good folks in my opinion. I'll come back again next time. read more
