I read the reviews here and was thoroughly confused with half of the people hating this place and half loving it. I decided to give it a try anyway. I found the service team to be quite professional and courteous. They provided oil change, oil filter, tire pressure, and inspection for less than $45. As is usual at any auto service business, they found some additional items that needed attention such as the coolant, and since this was an older car that had not been serviced in quite awhile I thought their recommendations were sound. However, I declined any additional services and just kept it at the basic oil change and they said no problem and gave no push back on what I wanted. In all, they were done with my vehicle in about 15 minutes. In short, I had a good experience here. Therefore, I do not understand the reviews here talking about rude staff and bad service. I saw no evidence of any discourtesy, but rather I saw a busy, attentive, professional 3-person service team that was working together to get the job done. I think the only issue could be the wait time. There are two service stalls that work in parallel. At best, each car takes about 15 minutes but if the car in front of you is getting additional services like a coolant flush, transmission fluids, etc. it could take more like 30 minutes. Therefore, if you have a couple of cars ahead of you, you could be waiting for up to an hour or maybe much less than that. Since you have to pick one of the two lines (probably the shorter one) to wait in, you can easily find yourself in a situation where somebody who got there after you but was in the other line got service first. This happened to me, I got there early in the morning but there were already 3 cars there. I got in the line with one car already in the dock. However this car ended up getting alot of service with took about 30 minutes, so one of the vehicles in the other line that got there after me got service before I did. I was watching the staff carefully, and they were working just as hard on both lanes so this was just a luck of the draw thing like a super market checkout situation however you don't have a shopping basket to look at to figure out which customers are going to take longer. Also, when the staff saw that someone in the other lane who got there after me was going to get served first, they came out right away to let me know they realized I was there first and that they were working to get the car in front of me out of there ASAP. So, bring a book, a video game, or a mobile phone to occupy your time. Plan to be there for about an hour and probably longer on a weekend, and remember you will be waiting in your car the whole time. Don't be in a rush. Otherwise I can see that some people might get hot-headed and frustrated which might lead to some of the bad feelings. I would go here again, and probably get that coolant flushed out next time. read more

Update (8/1/2016) : I like to be fair in all things. My experience wasn't such that it would prevent me from going back one more time and seeing how Oil Changers did. I've revised the rating from 2-star to 3-star. If I could give 3.5 stars I would but that's just not available. This is mainly due to the fact that the service was expedient, they did check and top off the fluid levels (I later went back and checked myself), and they also threw in a free car wash. As to my interactions with the employees - during the process, I had interactions with two people. The first was a young man who recommended what needed to be done. I was pleased to see that he recommended the coolant flush but said the other services COULD be done now but didn't need to be. Well done. The other man came back and quoted me the price and asked me to sign. It was roughly $77 and I asked if they were pouring in liquid gold. He told me that they used synthetic and that it was more expensive. I told him that I didn't need synthetic and that dropped the price down to roughly $44. I really didn't like the fact that he presumed and didn't bother to ask first. So, to quickly sum up - 3.5 stars (I believe it's better than "A-OK" but less than "Yay! I'm a fan"). Upside, they did what they were supposed to do, the work was speedy, and they threw in a free car wash. Downside, the guy tried to slip an upsell by me without my knowledge or consent. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The Problem Statement: I've got three cars and have been going to Oil Changers for a few years now but have noticed a general decline in the customer service and professionalism. The Details: I'd noticed that the horseplay and joking around increased but they'd slowed down in terms of getting things done. Also, I noticed that in the last 4-5 times, I didn't see anyone checking the fluids and when asked, I was told, "Yep, you're good." Lastly, I always check the receipt which gives you an itemized breakdown of the work. They always check off "windows washed" but they never do it. Finally, on the last visit, I asked if they'd wash the windows. The job was so half-assed that the windows were dirtier and seemed as if he just smeared the dirt around the window rather than cleaning it. I wouldn't say that I have the strong visceral reaction other reviewers have (although I understand their reaction in having gone what they had gone through) but it is enough that I'm now looking for a new shop to take my cars to. Quick Summary: Overall, I'm a bit sad to see this decline as I am big on customer service. I see a several 1 and 2 star reviews (35 out 121 total reviews [or roughly 28%]) with follow-ups from Laura R. @ Oil Changers. I don't envy you Laura. You've got a tough job as no amount of coupons or free oil changes is going to fix the problem of declining customer service. read more

Despite reading a few negative reviews here, I decided to give this place a try since it's at a convenient location for me. While everyone there was very nice and friendly, I am disappointed that I was led to believe that my car "had" to take synthetic oil and thus resulting in a much more expensive oil change than I expected. I live in the apartment complex across the road from this car wash, so I decided to wash my brand new car as the location is very convinient. After the wash I saw two long scratches along the hood! The wheels were not washed at all. I used similar car washes many times and never had any problems until used this one. Don't use this car wash if you want to save your car's paint. read more

I have gone to oil changers a few times but I decided after the last visit I wouldn't go back. The guys are very nice, but I was quoted roughly $85 for a basic oil change and when all was said and done I paid nearly $110. I was told they needed to use extra oil so they charged me more. As soon as got in the car the oil light was still on and they didn't know how to reset it. Then as I drove away I had an error message that began flashing stating "too much oil" (or something along those lines). Anyway, if I spend that much money to have my oil changed I expect it to be done right. I'll go elsewhere from now on. read more

How did I not know about this place?! After a bad expirence at Jiffy Lube I don't trust anyone with my car other than a dealership. But after I could not get an appointment at Serremonte Ford, and checking yelp, I decided to give this place a try. It was fantastic!! All the guys were very friendly and super helpful when I didn't know how to pop the hood or manually turn on the lights. Embarrassing, I know! They were quick and I really appreciated that I could sit and wait in my car. When I pulled up there were 2 cars ahead of me and I think I waited for 30 minutes or so. The carwash was fantastic too! I had my oil changed yesterday and was so happy with the quick and friendly service. I usually go to the Oil Changers in San Francisco on Valencia as I have had great service there as well. I happened to be in the area and overdue for an oil change. Everyone was so friendly, courteous and quick. Also I informed one of the gentlemen that my husband works at a wrecking yard and I'm not looking to be up-sold on anything. I told them to just list the issues on the receipt so I can show my husband. They were great about this and did exactly what I asked. I did not feel pressured for extra purchases which is great. We flip cars constantly and my hubby usually does a lot of the work. I will definitely be back these guys were great! read more

I've been going to this Oil Changers for years; I have a 2007 CR-V with 107k miles and only once had the oil changed elsewhere. The guys here are polite and efficient, although they do try to sell you other things you may or may not need--that's their job after all--if you refuse, even with no reason other than "No" they're fine with it. Customer service is really good, they answer questions, make suggestions, and don't push too hard. I can't name those who helped me yesterday except for Joe, but everyone did their jobs very well. Imagine being in that pit hours at a time draining hot oil, that can't be fun. They have a routine where they yell as things progress and list things as they are done so you won't drive off without a completed job. A strong recommendation from me. read more

The next day I sent my daughter to get my coolant flushed and fill, tell me why they did my oil changed as well when I don't even need it but they told my daughter that's what I wanted when I didn't even made a reservation for it. I've gone here twice and my most recent experience was disappointing. I definitely feel like I was taken advantage of due to being a female. I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt so I agreed to have the services they recommended done. I originally went for just an oil change but apparently my air filter was "really bad" too and it ended up costing a little over$100! I asked my dad for his opinion afterwards and he said the cost was ridiculous and the air filter wouldn't have needed to be changed based on how long I've had the car. Lol I've seen 20/20s about asshole mechanics charging women more because they don't know any better and I take some responsibility for not educating myself prior but damn... This is regarding my first review - I was told I was going to get a refund on September 10th sent directly to my home and even got a phone call that same night confirming the owners will be sending a check out which should be received within a couple days. It is now September 25th and I have been calling the business but there is no answer. There was a major issue that arose and came to my attention from my main mechanic regarding the services that I received from Oil Changers. They admitted they were in the wrong which I completely understand that it was a certain employee who is no longer with the company. So I'm trying to get my oil changed mind you I've since moved from Daly City but when I take it in to get my oil changed they tell me you should really get in contact with who did your oil change last. So hence why I'm writing this review. The guys at this place where nice. It is nice to stay in your car while they change the oil but they left oil fingerprints on my hood and when I got the invoice it was to pricey for an oil change and basic one at that. Also on there check list it said they wash your windows and top off the fluids but the only thing done was the oil. My window still dirty and now oil prints on my hood. I might give this place another try but I think I'll just do my own oil change and fluids. read more

I took my honda accord for a oil change a month ago at this location and just noticed my car starting to smell like something burning so I looked under the car and noticed oil everywhere so I inspected the oil plug and the oil filter and the oil filter was full of oil so I checked it and it was very loose it was not tighten all the way so had to do another oil change to replace the oil filter and the lost oil that has been leaking for more than a month, I will never bring any of my cars for a oil change at this location or any where else I'll just do the oil change my self since I can trust any shop with my car, read more

Came in earlier today after delaying my oil change for too long. 1st encounter: an employee comes out to get my car's license #, then asks if I've been there before (I have), and takes my name. Then a different employee comes out & writes down my VIN number. Then she asks how many miles are on my car. I told her, "You don't need to know that. I just need an oil change." Then *another* employee comes out, asking for the mileage on my car. I told him that I wasn't going to give it to him. He told me that if I don't give him the mileage, they can't work on my car. "You have GOT to be kidding me! OMG!!," was my response. Fine. Mind you, no one had asked me *anything* about what kind of service I wanted. The people I dealt with were far more focused on getting detailed information about me than they were about changing my oil. Way too freaky for me. I won't be back. I'm looking for an oil change, not a relationship, or to have a bunch of things sold to me. And for those helpful reminders that I need an oil change? Ok where to begin with this place ... First I took my Toyota Tacoma here for an oil change 4 or 5 times. The last time I ended up with an oil slick in my driveway. Ok no biggie stuff happens..But when contacted about it.. These people had the Audacity to suggest my oil pan bolt was stripped upon arrival, however never have I had a drop of oil before or after an oil change. They obviously were suggesting the place before them had done it. So I checked my records and they ironically enough were the last place to touch my car. The Owner offered to pay for the repair as he should however upon trying to set up an appointment I was given the run around by the manager who continued to suggest they did not do it in an annoyed and defensive manner. I talked to the owner about this as I did not want to deal with this attitude and he assured me he would correct it . This led to a few more days of no manager available and thinly veiled attitude from the employees who answer the phone... It was like good cop bad cop game between the owner and his employees... clearly contrived. So eventually I decided to have it repaired myself and never return to this place. A Year has gone by with no problems and no oil slicks in my driveway from getting oil changes at the oil changers in Redwood City or Firestone in San Bruno.. my last oil change was at Firestone ..oil change tire rotation and inspection , all was well and no oil slick in my driveway ...Today my girlfriend had my car and I asked her to get an oil change and guess where she went. Yup! This place and guess whats in my driveway. Yup an oil slick. Guess what they wrote in the notes. Yup . oil pan bolt threads stripped or damaged on arrival ..unbelievable . . So I called them and guess who is not available. Yup the manager!! I informed the employee who answered what happened and that it WAS NOT like that when brought to him ... it WAS NOT done by the last place... there has not been a drop of oil leaked from my car so don't even go there .. I received silence .. I asked if he had anything to say he replied ... nope...... :/ seriously that's what he said . If you go here you go at your own risk . They have no ethics, or customer service other then a polite smoke screen coupled with a run around that only leaves a worst taste in your mouth when all is said and ( not done ) . This is the best oil change/car wash deal in town!. I bought a package deal including 4 oil changes and car washes for $124. However when I cane for my oil changes on two ocassions the car wash was being renovated. I was told I would still get those car washes. I drive interstate 5 regularly and my car gets plastered with bugs. So I needed these washes. When I came to use ny last oil change, I was told those car washes expired. I asked to speak to the manager. Anthony the manager gave me a free one today and one when I come for another oil change. Plus I got a five dollar off coupon for that on yelp! Since I've moved to the area this has been my go to for my cars oil change. I have been to the same chain in a different city and there services were super slow and they asked me to wait in the lobby for almost an hour. So, I lucked out with finding this shop that's conveniently close to where I live. They always get me in and out within 15 minutes or so. I highly recommend there services, very professional & enthusiastic and they actually look like they enjoy what there doing. You don't see that very often anymore so kudos. Overall a great atmosphere, and even greater attention to detail. They took care of my oil and topped off all my fluids, cleaned my windows all while I sat in my car. Remember to check-in and get $5 your oil change! That's definitely a win in my book. I got there with 2 other cars in front of me and waited just under an hour. No big deal about the wait, it's your own darn fault if you get there and there's 3-4 cars ahead of you, plus you have the right to wait it out or leave. From what I've experienced in the several times I've been here, they're real courteous, suggest other services you should or can have done, and don't force you do add on other services, they just ask. If you want to know how much more it would cost, they'll flat out tell you. Not bad at all for the price since I'm too lazy to change my own oil. read more
