This was my first time going to this place and let me tell you I was very pleased! It was about that time that I needed to get an oil change, and I remember the last time I got the service done at Jiffy Lube, I was not a happy camper. So I put on my big boy pants on and tried somewhere new. Super fast service. I was there for about 20 minutes. I pulled up and waited inside my car while they washed my windows, put air in my tires and gave me lots of positive knowledge about my service. They have this deal that if you get 6 oil changes, the 7th is free. I used to take my Lexus IS 300 here all the time for oil changes and smog check. They even did a repair the transmission. The repair was pricy but needed as told by another mechanic who trusted this place. He even told me the guy to ask for. After u get 10 29.99 oil changes the next one is feee. This however was 13 years ago I don't remember the mechanics name but if he was there then yes I would more than likely take my current car I have there now. If my husband who was a mechanic could not do it. In my opinion great place. I believe his name was Tom. I currently have a new car so my services r under warranty. AMAZING service!! Seemed like 5 minutes in and out. They told me what I needed, gave me options, explained it all to me so I could make the best decision. They were extremely polite. And I paid less than I expected to pay. jiffy lube down the street on the other hand cost me almost FOUR times as much!! And jiffy lubes service sucked and i was there almost 2 hours. All I wanted was a simple oil change... It was the day before Easter around 4pm on a Saturday. I pull up to get my oil changed and one of the guys tells me that I'm leaking oil from the drip pan. He said that he wouldn't do the oil change because he was afraid he'd strip the bolt and worsen the leak. I was pretty certain that I didn't have an oil leak, which I didn't, but i took my car home and checked for myself. There was no leak. I understand that you're ready to get off and I'm rolling through with under an hour before closing, but to tell me that I'm leaking oil and that I need to see my mechanic about it...pathetic. read more

I Bought the Groupon and waited an hour to get my old changed. Then I find out that I have to pay taxes and an extra $14 because they said I have a specialty filter. After taxes and the filter fee, I should've just gone to Jiffy Lube. It would've been the same price. I don't mind paying the difference if my filter is a little more money, but a factory VW filter is only $10. That is a German filter for $10. They were trying to give me a regular American filter for $14. Assuming a regular filter is five or six dollars, and mine was $10, I wouldn't have minded paying an extra five bucks. But trying to charge me 14 is a complete rip off. So I left, now I have to call Groupon and try to get a refund. And I wasted an hour waiting in line. IM NOT HAPPY. I even gave him an opportunity to call his boss and he wouldn't. read more

I pulled into the bay not knowing that I had purchased the wrong Groupon item for conventional oil when my truck takes synthetic. I reached out to Groupon right then and there and they would not refund my purchase. I spoke to the owner and he did me the biggest favor by still accepting that coupon and says "I'll take care of it". WOW. This was my first visit here and they have earned my business. Rarely do I ever run into shops with this much class and that definitely turned my crappy day around. I rated this place 4 stars awhile back and felt the need to update it. I still only come here for any oil changes on mine and family's vehicles. Today I went in and got my usual oil change, I went in later to take my mothers car that she never drives and instead of getting an oil change they serviced my car by topping me off on fluids and air pressure my tires and they informed me to come back in oct/nov for an oil change because it was not needed at the time. These guys are a rip off and if you're a lady that looks as if you are wealthy, they will try to say that there are numerous complications with your car and if they can get you to believe their b.s. you will end up paying them for a lot of uneeded work. I came in for an oil change and tried to say my cap was broken, I needed a new ac filter, etc. I went to another place to have all those things checked and my car was fine. Rip off. Don't go here. The owner should be sued for falsifying unnecessary work in order to gouge customers of their money. Again, came here twice. Never coming back. Should have given better service at those times. Saying you have been in business for 30 years does not justify your poor service. I came in for an oil change and nothing more. I repeat will never come back again. read more

My dad always said, "Take care of your car, and it will serve you well." He also used to say, "never ignore the brakes or tires." Okay, so those are two rules that I have always lived by.... the thing is, though, it's with the help of honest and knowledgeable car mechanics to help me when I am questioning these things. Enter, the problem with Texaco Express Lube. Bear in mind that I have always gone to trusted, tried and true mechanics that my dad found, and that place has been DeYoung's in the San Fernando Valley....and while MY better judgment was to just go there, along with the inconvenience of getting there, what to do once there, etc. etc, I opted for a recommendation that my husband made.... he had a place close to our home, it was on the weekend, and well, it was sounding like a good idea, albeit against that little inside voice that said, "Go where you know you will get an accurate diagnosis." Then, the other little voice said, "Yah, but it's JUST a lube and oil change.... what could go wrong with that?" I've lived over 50 years and KNOW the answer to that.....and ignored it anyway. :) I should have known (yes, famous last words) that when my husband said, "Oh, they're really fast about getting them done" that that meant they don't do a thorough job. I do know things like that..... yet, I had a brain lapse at the thought of convenience. So, the lube, that is SUPPOSED TO INCLUDE a 16-point or however many point inspection, could not have possibly included a brake inspection because within one week of getting this lube job & alleged inspection, I started hearing and/or feeling this grinding sound in my brakes. Yet, it was intermittent...... so what do we do with intermittent sounds? We tell ourselves it's just our imagination. Yes, that's what we do. See, I know cars well enough now to know that the grinding sound is likely metal pressing metal on my brakes, and I'm ruining the rotors.....or about to do that. Yet, I once again said, "It's just my imagination" and guess what else I said? "Oh, the lube place WOULD HAVE TOLD ME IF MY BRAKES WERE GOING BAD." Except, fast forward now 3 more weeks to this past week, and my car is doing the grinding sound more frequently, but now, I'm hearing this bell-like rattling under my car that I have NEVER heard on this or any other car I've had, and my husband said, "That's just the little indicator that you probably need brakes. I thought to myself, well, why am I just now hearing this sound? I've had brake/rotor problems before, so even though I'm still not hearing the grinding sound all the time, something is up with all this, and I'd better get it looked at. Today, we brought my car to DeYoung's where I KNOW they will be thorough, and guess what, I not only need brakes, but I need BOTH FRONT AND BACK brakes, and yes, they need to reshape or whatever they do to the rotors because the metal was pressing on the metal. Now, why didn't Express Lube tell me that my brakes will SOON need replacing? Well, I actually called today to find out..... apparently, they don't do this type of thing in their inspection.... which neither I nor my husband knew... and I've gotten them done at a number of places before, and everyone else has told me about brake issues when getting a lube, so my error was ASSUMING they do it here, too. Always wrong to assume..... and I know that one, too. So, while I cannot knock this place for not doing a job they never perform, I will knock this place for not making it part of their inspection. I can't be bringing my car to a place that leaves out a very vital part (to me) of making sure I have good brakes. That's just not the kind of service I want.... or expect. read more

They call it XpressLube because they want to scam you and get you out of there as fast as they can. These dudes wanted 90 bucks for a basic oil change. They said the oil for my car costs more and added in all these random fees so they could charge me an extra 45 dollars from their advertised price when the difference in parts is only $10. So, what they're basically saying is it costs $35 worth of labor for the worker to reach over and grab a different bottle of oil. If they are this dishonest about charging you, would you want to trust them with your car? I went to another spot and got my oil changed, car washed and waxed with interior cleaning all for less than what XpressLube wanted to take from me. Edit: in response to his comment. The difference in parts for conventional oil and the synthetic blend 0w20 oil my car requires is only about 10 dollars for 5 quarts not 45 dollars you yelpers can look it up for yourself. XpressLube was just trying to squeeze as much money as they could from me. I understand running a business requires you to turn a profit, but what you guys are doing is straight up scamming people. When I told the guy trying to rip me off that even the dealership quoted me a lower price, he said rudely, "Well you should get it done there then." Almost as if he was mad I knew he was trying to scam me. Will tell all my friends and family to not go here. read more
