We were regular customers of this place for a while. We have 2 family members who cannot eat any gluten at all. We were told by the staff they can make the sushi safely without gluten. What a lie. Cross contamination is rampant in this place, and they will literally lie to you about it. The owner doesn't understand they are poisoning people? Anyone with celiac and any other food allergy needs to avoid this place. They are not to be trusted. I know this because one of the people in my family worked at this location for a few weeks and got into trouble with the staff when they tried to let customers know of the cross contamination going on. Also, the tea machine is loaded with mold. To think we ate this sushi that was made on the same cutting board as gluten items really is horrifying considering the damage this must have done to their gut. We've dined in and ordeeed delivery from this restaurant before. It was alway more positive, u til yesterday when we ordered delivery last night via Uber Eats. Perhaps there is anew management or change of chef?!! We are bummed about the quality of the food recieved yesterday. We ordered three special rolls- all had cooked protein and with with no crunch factor despite having panko and tempura ingredients. Unfortunately the rolls tasted like ingredients were pre-fried ingredients or even pre-rolled ahead of time. Spider roll was soggy, barely any soft shell crab fillings. Dancing eel roll was mushy with soggy and overcooked rice. The Sweet Heart Roll is supposed to have lobster, but somehow it tasted like shrimp. Lastly, my salmon teriyaki bento box ended up being teriyaki shrimp, NOT what we ordered. We also paid extra for brown rice but recieved white rice. We won't be reordering anytime soon. read more

I was searching Yelp for the best fried rice nearby and stumbled upon Oishi Sushi, easily one of the best decisions I've made. I ordered their vegetable fried rice and was absolutely blown away. It was so flavorful and perfectly cooked that it didn't even need a protein to pair with it. I swear I ordered three in one day, came back the next day for two more, and then again the day after . Talk about obsessed!!! I also tried their sweet potato sushi, which was just as great fresh, delicious, and well prepared. Everything about this place exceeded my expectations. On top of the amazing food, the restaurant itself is cute and very clean, making the dining experience even better. Service was excellent. Atmosphere was excellent. But most importantly, food was excellent. My fiancee and I get the same rolls at every restaurant (he gets a salmon roll, crab roll, and shrimp roll; I get an avocado roll and sweet potato roll). The quality of the sushi was wonderful and fresh. Not a lot of rice (which is a good thing) on the rolls as well. Plus, the price is affordable compared to other sushi places. I've only ordered delivery from this place twice, never actually been to the restaurant. Both times, orders have arrived quickly and with a free appetizer that resembled a mini quesadilla which I've come to learn is a blue crab fajita. It's fine, kinda mushy. Sushi fulfilled our cravings. Some rolls were skimpy with rice which I actually don't mind. Much prefer less rice than a ton of rice that out balances the actual filling. We ordered the Any 3 Roll combos and the Roll Combos which are decently priced for three rolls - some regular, some special - and a salad/soup. My only gripe would be the salad- the lettuce pieces were huge! Maybe give those pieces a cut or two. read more

This is a go to delivery spot for my family! The rolls and specialty rolls are delish and taste fresh. Their main courses are great as well and come with a decent amount of food. They are a little pricey but it is usually worth it. The only items I've ever really been less than satisfied with were tofu based. Okay people listen up. This review is two months in the making. During COVID my family and I have been on serious quarantine. We were not even eating out, until the need arose (random Friday night). We ordered a bunch of items from the menu and hoped for the best. Not only did the order arrive quickly, it was fresh, tasty, and the driver was very friendly. Did I mention they gave us several additional items on the house that sent our tastebuds on a rollercoaster of gratitude? Strap in folks! My sister and brother-in-law ordered chicken teriyaki bento boxes which I will not review because I didn't eat them. They seemed to like it, however, since they left no trace of even rice in the container. I had the sushi and the salmon bento box. I admit I wasn't a fan of the bento box and that is only because I realize I just want sushi which was delicious! It was fresh and the spicy mayo I asked for was the icing on the cake! We have since ordered several times, my family orders their sushi and bento boxes I just order extra sushi which works out perfect for me! I gave a five star review, although I wasn't a fan of the bento box, because we always won't love what we order but a quick delivery, friendly staff, and nice gestures for your customers is exactly how you earn that extra star. Oishi is a good sushi restaurant in the Hackensack area to fulfill your sushi cravings. I've ordered from Oishi a few times during quarantine. I haven't had any issues and they prepare your order very quickly. The rolls are okay but appear to be a bit smaller for the price and compared to other places. I would recommend opting for the sushi or sashimi options. The sashimi is cut pretty thick and it seems fresh. I've really enjoyed the sashimi and sushi options I've ordered from here. On my last order, Oishi gave me a free crab quesadilla appetizer. Think "soft crab rangoon." Delicious! These are dangerous. I could probably eat these all day. read more

This is a tiny little place my husband and I decided to try randomly. I had the beef negimaki dinner box with veggie gyoza and it was delish the beef was fresh and flavorful the gyoza was the best I've had to date. My husband ordered the demon roll he said it was fresh and one of the best specialty rolls he'd had in a while. For the drink I got a yuzu sweet tea and I would totally recommend.
