This place is amazing!! I honestly cannot believe how much food they were able to pack into the box, that's their niche. When there's no room in the tray, they pack it into the lid. The orange chicken was delicious - beef and broccoli was pretty good too. I wish I lived closer so I can come more often, unfortunately I'm about 6 hours away. I try to stay away from places like this. However there comes one of those days (like today) where I feel like pigging out. This place obviously doesn't serve authentic Chinese food. But if you're reaaaaaally hungry and want the best bang for your buck and don't mind greasy food come here. $5 for 2 item combo. The food is acceptable and tastes good for what it's worth. Good selection on food unlike most places where they are either almost out of food or it's been sitting out all day. Here they restock trays all day with fresh food. Fried rice, chow mein, beef & broccoli, orange chicken, teriyaki chicken, fried chicken wings, egg rolls, some veggie dishes I don't know the names, some potato..thing?, you get the idea. Ok Chinese is the place you wanna come to when you don't give a sh*t if you eat 5,000 calories in one seating. Or when you're on your period and you're craving really greasy food. This is the place you wanna come too. Honestly the portions are ridiculous. I ordered: -chow mein (really good!) -mushroom chicken (good but ask for freshly made!) -spicy jalapeño chicken (same as above, ask for freshly made. Great spicy kick) -beef broccoli (taste was ok but there was something missing. They also don't mix the broccoli with the beef. I imagine it's so the broccoli doesn't become soggy) -egg rolls are cheap 2 for $1 but they lack flavor. Btw, don't save left overs. Customer service was very good. The lady behind the counter was very kind and was patient being this was my first time there. The serving portion was amazing!! The traditional white Styrofoam to go box was packed to the top. I ordered the chow mein with beef and broccoli and spicy chicken. Unfortunately the food just wasn't that great. There's multiple places to get Chinese food in the San Fernando Valley I wish the food was better because they definitely give a lot! Yeah... No. I was totally mislead by some of these reviews. If you like loads upon loads of cheap, greasy, food then by all means give them a try. I thought it was going to be equivalent to actual Chinese food but it was not. I got orange chicken and broccoli beef. If you are looking for tasty Chinese food, this is it. A "must try" spot. Food is fresh, hot, and flavorful. The biggest portions I have ever seen. My sign of a good spot is a long line, so be prepared to wait in line for 5 to 10 mins. It is a Hidden Gem, I almost five starred it but the area and customers that walk in are shady. Whenever my family is hungry for Chinese food, this is our go-to restaurant. It is just past the Panorama mall so it is fairly close to where i live. It has a moderate large parking lot. On the weekends, the lines do tend to go out the door but the servers serve the food quickly so the wait isn't long. The restaurant is small but it is still pleasant to eat there but the decor isn't anything to look at. The plates that the food is served in is Styrofoam that can hold three items: rice and/or noodles and your two entrees. The portions that is served are rather large so people will have leftovers. The food is very flavorsome and the pieces of the meat are huge. The Kung Pow Chicken is my favorite out of all the entrees. People can choose either rice, noodles, or both with their entrees but i recommend both. Because of the sizable portions, people can buy one plate and share thus saving more money. The servers are friendly and can serve two customers at a time to decrease line waiting. The grade for that the restaurant has is an A even though it might look a little dirty instead but i haven't detected an problem. They do not accept credit cards, only cash and that might be a nuisance to some customers. I have been visiting this restaurant all my life and I never had a problem. The prices are great for the quantity that is given in the plate. The food is truly scrumptious and will fill up people's stomachs. The parking lot is not creepy but might be prone to crashes because of one of the very slanted exits so be careful. The leftovers are fantastic when heated the next day and do not taste soggy, just maybe crunchy. I definitely recommend trying this at least once because people might be passing up their next favorite food place. It's a great place to get a bite to eat on the weekends. read more

Finally home from San Diego!! and I think I should've stayed there another day. Why did I choose this place?! I have gone to this place many times in high school and I was hankering for some Chinese food made by Hispanics. I think I am going to throw up now...... Well, the parking lot is almost full because of the Asian medical center. Well, I found a parking spot and others took two parking spots. Shame!! I walked in to see many Hispanics even the cook. Well, its cheap..No Chinese Overhead. I ordered food for my family. Two-Chow Meins, Two-Orange Chickens, and Two-Beef Broccoli. All for $10.38. They stuff the Styrofoam containers until they explode. Generous Portions is not the term, but truckloads. They separate the broccoli from the beef. I like the idea. Not many people like broccoli, but I do. Caveat: Don't eat A-OK's Chinese Food fast. As of right now, I am getting a stomach ache. Feel like throwing up. I think this is a once-in-a-year type place to go or you are on a budget. I was scared to walk in here...I actually walked in and then walked back out to check and see what their rating was. I was relieved to see an A. I stood in line behind a bunch of hungry people. This place was bumping at lunch time. I could not believe how much food they packed into the containers, ridiculous amounts of food. Fried rice and chowmein were crammed into those to go boxes, then they somehow managed to shovel in two meat items to go along with everything else. When I walked up to order I asked for all veggies, instead of the rice/noodles, which confused the server a bit but he offered me a bunch of steamed broccoli. I then picked the least sauced items that I could find which were the fried wings and the mushroom chicken ( trying to keep my lunch low carb, not too sure I did...) Me and my friend walked away with our meals and only paid about $11 total for our meals which produced tons of leftovers. First things first. This is not authentic Chinese cuisine. This is Americanized Chinese fast food. You have to understand that when you go in or you will be disappointed. That said, i can't believe the amount of food i got yesterday for $7. I ordered a 2 item combo, all chow mein with broccoli and beef and kung pao chicken. The lady put so much chow mein inside the to go container that i couldn't figure out where she would put the entrees...but sure enough, she piled in a boat load more food into that container!! It was so full she could barely close the lid and that's not an exaggeration. It was a literal mountain of food. I paid the lady, who offered me all kinds of sauces, of which i took some hot sauce and picked up a bag that easily weighed 3 pounds. When i got to work to eat it, holy cow. So much food. I was afraid to take it out of the plastic bag, so i just ate from inside there. I was able to contain the fall out so i could stuff it back into my face. It was really good. Not amazing, but tasty and plenty of good food. The meat was good, no nasty pieces and i really like how they cooked the beef separate from the broccoli. It guaranteed that the broccoli wasn't hard as a rock. After i stuffed my face 'til i couldn't eat any more, i put the rest away and ate it for both breakfast and lunch today. I'm stuffed again. I went to this place for take out, as I wanted to make my own broccoli dish for dinner, but wanted to have some kind of rice and meat dish to go with it. I arrived about 10:45 am, (they open at 10:30 am), and the food was pretty fresh. I got the fried rice and Kung Pao chicken. Business Hours are the same as Oriental Kid Chinese on Sepulveda: Mon-Fri 10:30am-9:00pm Sat 10:30am-8:00pm Sun Closed The fried rice was not impressive - too oily, very light on the egg and used what looks like previously frozen vegetables, but it will do. Add more scrambled egg and garnish for a makeover. Maybe a touch of oyster sauce or some fish sauce, something to distract from all that oil! It will be passable anyway. The Kung Pao chicken was really fresh I could tell because the carrots and celery were still crunchy and I got the very first scoops out of the tray. Both dishes were light on the onions and no cilantro that I recall, but that's OK, it's not for everyone. Fresh minced green onions and cilantro will freshen both up. The people were friendly, they asked me if this was my first time there. And it's true, the two item combo is about 2.75 pounds of food. Lastly, I don't mind Hispanics making Asian food. I'm Asian and I make some pretty exotic Mexican foods like Cochinita Pibil, and Pollo con Mole Pipiàn. Good eats recognizes good eats. read more

I love this place. It was my go to when I was a poor college student living in Northridge. Huge portions for a cheap price, and it really hits the spot when I have a craving for Chinese take away. It's what it's meant to be. My favorites are the orange chicken, Kung pow, chicken wings, and broccoli beef (even though the beef is sometimes tough) because of whatever sauce they cook it in . We went into this place expecting to get some okay Chinese food. What we got was a LOT of Chinese food. Boy, they don't skimp on the portions here. The food was great, too! When I stepped up to the counter, the server asked me if I wanted fried rice or chow mein. I asked for half and half, so he piled in a full serving of chow mein and then another full serving of fried rice on top of it. The container was just about full by this point. Then he asked what entrees I wanted. I asked for broccoli beef, so he completely filled the container with a massive portion of it. For my second item, I asked for kung pao chicken, and he piled it on so high. It was a mountain of food towering out above the walls of the styrofoam container. He folded it, but it could barely close with all of the food spilling out of it. I ended up with two full meals for the same price I'd pay for one meal elsewhere. Two grown men could easily share a two-item combo. We'll definitely go back to this place. By the way, OK stands for the owners nickname, the "Oriental Kid." I dislike the parking lot. It's always full and crowded. I hate that the restaurant itself is tiny and crowded with lines out the door. I hate that this place is cash only. I LOVE that the food here is cheap and they pack the to-go boxes to the max! The lines move very fast because there is virtually no wait for your food (think panda express but tiny), more affordable, and bigger portions. They have an ATM machine inside so you can still pay for your food if you didn't carry enough cash. The food is consistently good for what you're getting. Nothing gourmet, nothing authentic but everything I've had here is tasty!!! The service is too fast to ever be bad. You line up tell them what you want, the pack it tightly in a container you pay and are good to go. Basically, If you don't mind super oily and greasy food, then come on down to Ok Chinese Restaurant. They definitely do give you an abundance of food, as stated by numerous other reviews. However, you get what you pay for: You get quantity, not quality. If you're trying to be healthy (yes, I understand that Chinese to go food isn't necessarily healthy to begin with), then stay away from this place. I felt kind of sick after eating here. I don't think I was used to the greasiness of it all. That chowmein was a slow killer. What was NOT OK: I'm not sure how this place got an A on their restaurant grade thing. I would give them a B or lower because they don't wear gloves when serving you food. Excuse me, but I don't want the food that goes onto my plate to touch your hands, especially when I've seen you wiping the counter with a dirty rag. One of my favorite places to grab a plate of Chinese food. It may not be authentic as other people state, but in my opinion it is very tasty. I usually get the 2 item plate, Orange chicken and beef and broccoli (mostly just beef and a like 3 brócolis lol). The orange chicken is definitely not orange chicken, but it does taste good. The beef is very tender and not tough like other places and the chow mein is really good. I've tried other fast Chinese spots and this one still stands as my favorite!! Best of all is that you can not beat the price and portions!! With the 2 item plate, 2-3 people can easily share ! What's not to like about this place ? It's literally O.K. Chinese Food. My fiancé is obsessed with this place and on a whim decided to try it. The pros are definitely the quantity you get for your $$$. I eat lunch and dinner when we get this and that means I don't have to cook for the night! I like their noodles as well, and if you ask double noodles, pray for that styrofoam. Cons, is the meat dishes. They all taste the same to me! No spices, nothing that sets flavor and distinct taste for each dish.
