If you can dig your fish out from the rest of the bowl, it's actually very fresh tasting, and I appreciate that. Some places are just nasty. They also give a good amount, so at least you dont have to feel like you're being taken for. Went during lunch, and the damn line was so long. Moved slow too. Most of these places are pretty similar, but this one has a few more options than most poke spots, and this is my first time at this one, my sons like it the best locally. I also like that they mix up the different fish and sauces in a bowl before adding on the rice. Not everywhere does that. I'm probably not the best judge of poke, as I've only eaten it a handful of times. I ordered a poke bowl with five scoops of protein and a Watermelon Dole Whip. The fish seemed fresh, the portion was generous, and the person who prepared my bowl was not only friendly, but also helpful in guiding me while I selected what ingredients to add. The Dole Whip was sweet and refreshing on a warm day. I'd recommend sharing with another person! The one thing that would have made the experience more positive is if the staff had been wearing masks. Never mind COVID -- the employees are very close to the food they are serving to the customers, and their germs likely get over much of it. There's a reason food service workers wear gloves; they should also wear masks while handling food. read more

You can also ask for doubles of some items (they charge extra for doubles for a few items, but not for most of them). I've had poke 3 times in the past week (dontjudgeme) and 2 out of the 3 times were here, so I guess it's time to write a review! I've only been here 3 times total and have heard that the generosity of the portion sizes can be hit or miss, but I've had pretty good luck so far! My standard order: Bases: spring mix salad + brown rice Add ons: avocado, cilantro, crab, cucumber, edamame, ginger, masago, pineapple, scalions, seaweed salad, sprouts, sweet corn Proteins: salmon x3, ahi tuna, spicy tuna Sauce: crunchy garlic (garlic, honey, ponzu) Toppings: roasted sesame seeds, crunchy onion, fried garlic, furikake One of these days, I may try one of their other sauces (they have a number of em' that sound pretty awesome), but thus far, I've been super happy with my orders! (Also super happy that they don't charge extra for the seaweed salad or the avocado!!) They offer "sushi burritos" here as well, and the desserts (they have Dole whip + Hawaiian shave ice) they have also sound amazing. Maybe next time! We usually do curbside pickup since there isn't anywhere to sit outside and parking can sometimes be a pain. I'm rating my experience 1 star because I drove from San Ramon to the Walnut Creek Oke Poke to get Dole Whip. I ordered and paid for it and I was waiting for it for a few minutes. A man came from the back and opened the cash register, counted out money, and gave it to me without saying anything. When I asked what the money was for, he said the Dole Whip wasn't ready to be served and he was giving me money back. I asked to speak to the manager and he said he was the manager. Ordered to go and was surprised by the size of the bowl and how much fish was given. I got two scoops of salmon, one tuna, one spicy tuna, and one octopus and all the fish were really good, none too dry. Avocado isn't charged extra. The only slight negative is that the rice is hard to get to because it's at the bottom but it's not a huge amount because you can have a lot of other toppings. Given the weekend deal, the line was out the door. I'm at a bit of a standstill because while I appreciate how every detail can be customized, it exponentially slows the already long line when you're asked if you want something mixed in or on the top for every. single. add-in/topping. This doesn't bode well if you're having a special during peak days/hours. It took us almost an hour to get in and out with 5-6 ahead of us in line. We got medium bowls, which came with 3 scoops of protein. While the fish was fresh, the ratios were completely off. Both bowls had one thin layer of rice, and they go heavy on the sauce, so after a few bites, I knew I wouldn't have enough rice to be satisfied or complement all the fish and add-ins. I ended up making brown rice at home to add to both bowls *facepalm*. I may give them another shot in due time, but definitely not during a special or weekend. This is my favorite poke place in Walnut Creek/Pleasant Hill/Concord area. The ingredients are always fresh and delicious, it is a great poke spot. They have an extensive menu so you can customize your bowl to your liking. I think that my favorite thing about this place is that avocado is not an extra fee (only unless you want extra scoop of it). Also the portions that they give you is worth the price you pay, it's pretty inexpensive compared to other places. The staff is always so friendly, this place is worth the stop by. I haven't had poke in a while so I decided to give Oke Poke a try. You can order take out through DoorDash or you can order in-store. I parked a couple blocks away and was happy to see a line of customers patiently waiting for their poke. I waited about 10 minutes until it was my turn to order. I ended up getting a medium bowl, which is 3 proteins; I chose salmon, tuna and scallops, with my base being sushi rice. They give you the option to mix the toppings with the fish or to put them on top. I went with the mix and I got carrots, corn, cucumber, spicy crab, edamame, seaweed, and cilantro. For my sauces, I chose spicy mayo and sesame oil. The staff were also really friendly and inviting! The girl taking care of me was very patient in describing the different sauces they had since I couldn't decide on which ones I wanted. If you need utensils, be sure to ask them when you are paying or afterwards. The poke bowl itself was delicious! The ingredients were fresh and the portions of fish and toppings were plentiful. They were both customized to my specifications. The young woman who helped me was friendly and cheerful, and very generous with the scoop.
