Cha-Su Ramen: Broth was on the saltier side (even for a Japanese ramen), but it was decent. Noodles were overall decent as well. Nothing special about the dish, but nothing horribly wrong. Meat was sub-par at best. Price is the real killer here. We paid $60 for six dumplings and three ramens. Take my advice and put $20 in your gas tank and drive 25minutes into Chinatown philly. Had a few items delivered while sick- their noodles are an excellent choice for a sick day... or any day! They separated the broth from everything else in the noodle bowl (chicken, fried seaweed, bean sprouts, green onion), I really appreciated that, as well as the option to make your own bowl. Wait! What? How is this place not rated higher? A coworker recommended this place and after work drove through thunder, lightening and rain to this place cause 2 words- sushi burrito! The menu is a 5 step process, pick how you want your burrito prepared with an abundance of fresh veggies. The sushi burrito came out picture perfect and I noticed they also had Baos- which are pork belly stuffed between two soft buns. Sushi burrito was impressively fresh and delish! They also have a "frequent flyer" program, every $10 you spend gets you a punch towards a free burrito. It's only my first time here and I'm already thinking of the ways to maximize towards my free burrito! Lol. The Bao appetizer was good on flavor but realistically, the pork belly was razor thin. I would not get it again unless they fix it to a thick cut like most establishments make it. I thought about knocking off a star but the burrito was such a star highlight, it is still deserving. I stopped in here with friends over the weekend, and on a Saturday afternoon it was completely empty. We all ordered ramen, I got a thai tea, and a friend got some crystal dumplings. The tea wasn't bad, but I found the lightbulb bottle more than a little annoying to drink from, and rather overpriced for how milky it was. The dumplings were very tiny, maybe the size of ping pong balls, had a very thick wrapper, and again, were about twice the price of going to an actual dim sum place and ordering har gow. The ramen itself, for being in a small town, was adequate at best. The portion was appropriate for lunch, but was much smaller than ramen places you'd find in a city, and about twice the price. The broth was very salty, and tasted boxed rather than like a slowly cooked and highly seasoned stock. Overall, if you're looking for a stepping stone from instant ramen to visiting chinatown, this place will do, but be expected to pay way more than you would just going into the city. You may be better off waiting for a trip to the city to pay less, and get more than you would here. read more

Right next to NoodleBowl, you can find Oki Maki at Eagle Plaza. How to order ramen: If you want ramen, you just walk straight through into the back seating and sit down by an ipad and order. When you get your order, there's a receipt taped to it. After you get your meal you can move around to another table (not all tables have ipads for some reason). After you're done, you leave your stuff and walk up to the cashier (who seems to manage both ramen and sushi) and hand him your receipt and card/cash. Tipping: To be honest I'm not sure how tipping works... I left some on the table before I left, but I overheard someone else say there was a button for tip when he paid for his meal... I never used anything when I paid with my card, I just handed the cashier my card. Also, in front of the cash register/pos system there's a mini trough that is labeled tips... so idk. Food: On yelp there's a menu thing where it looks like you can pick out what soup base, toppings, and add ons you can order, but I didn't see that on the ipad system... maybe I just didn't look hard enough. I ordered a crystal shrimp dumpling, cha so ramen and tai tea light ball for 5.95, 12.95, and 4.95 respectively. A lot of the menu items on the ipad system don't have pictures, so I ordered the light ball thing to see what it was. I thought it was supposed to be tai, but it ended up being some sort of thick matcha green tea thing. The food was a solid 4, not super amazing or surprising, but it was certainly filling. Both the soup base and light bulb drink were so thick, I felt absolutely stuffed halfway through. There's free water you can get up and get yourself, along with plastic utensils and napkins on a trolley in the back area. Ambience: It kinda had a fast food type of vibe going on in the back, very relaxed, not so much 'you have an assigned waiter who will be serving you tonight etc, etc'. I think it's probably comparable to Yoshinoya. Because of that, I'm not really sure if I was supposed to tip or naw. I did anyway as the servers (I think there's only two) made some brief conversation with me as they were cleaning up others. The lighting was a bit dark, probably from the dark wood floor, red booths, and red and penny-copper tables. It had an almost bar-darkness to it. I think that made it pretty comfortable though. Solid place to go try, probably wouldn't order an appetizer or drink next time - it was too much food. Either or would probably be okay. read more

Dont go for the ramen ill tell ya that. The noodles were all clumpy and the amount of cabbage they put in there is unreal. I asked for no bamboo shoots half my bowl was filled with it. Instead of nice thin sliced pork that you can easily chew it's basically pieces of steak you gotta cut. You order from an iPad which is kinda annoying but i guess okay. Service was a bit slow both times I went, but I was there opening week so I can't complain too much. They restaurant itself is very inviting and quaint, the dining area is spacious and well lit, but the area for sushi and the register is a little chaotic. Hopefully, in another week or two they'll smooth this out. Both times I went I had a variation for the tonkatsu with variations to either shoyu or original, both bowls were very flavorful and cooked well. My only issue is take out can be a bit of a wait, though again this might of been because of opening week as well as it being the weekend so movie goers filled the establishment. Setup is a little strange, when you first walk in you can get a sushi burrito made for you kind of like chipotle and other like burrito restaurants or you can sit down and order some ramen. I opted for the ramen and it was pretty cool how you order. You can make your own, which I did , and picked everything I wanted via ipad. Nice and easy and you do not have to sit there for 5 minutes listing out what you want to your waiter. Ramen took a bit to get to the table but overall I was satisfied with the experience. The ramen was awesome, I ordered the shrimp ramen with thin noodles and a few other things in there and I thought it was great. This will definitely become my go to place for ramen. The bell rang another few times still nothing one of the girls went and got water in a pitcher for the customer. She then went and got a boy out of the office and tells him i need you on register and finally gets our soup. So i started to eat my soup and realized there is no shrimp. So i immediately walk up to the window and tell the girl she says ok i will get it for you so i waited. Meanwhile my bf is half way done his soup i then get up and walk in the back ro ok m to the manager who is ordering stuff for the business i stood there and waited i then explained to him that his staff was too busy to help me and i never got my apps or shrimp in my soup he says ok your apps are coming out and i asked but what a bout my shrimp he said i will take care of it love i said ok walked back to my seat. He brings it all out and i thanked him. Now my problem here is that i am a server i have been doing it for 10 years so i feel as if i have enough experience to say this. As for the cooks how in the hell do you forget the shrimp in shrimp ramen its the main thing in the soup. As for the severs/staff if you are slammed all of you should be out on the floor especially in a dinner rush. Not sitting on your ass in the breakroom/office. You are a team you help each other get your shit together. Secondly water can wait a customers food is more important. Was craving sushi on a Saturday for lunch and decided to stop by. The place is pretty cute, it's located in a shopping center by the movie theater and has make your own sushi on one side and ramen that you order from and iPad on the other. We ordered the sushi burrito with salmon which came with 4 toppings and you can add additional protein for an extra $3 and avocado for $1 as well as the sushi don with tuna which is like a burrito bowl. Also, noticed these green tea and Thai Thea drinks by the register, that came in light bulbs! Needless to say, I added that to my order as well. Sadly, no longer caters to people with soy allergies. I have a relative who has been eagerly waiting to eat here again, as she fell in love with their ramen, and they offered soy-free broth. Today she learned their new management got rid of the soy-free option. She is absolutely devastated- we planned on eating here frequently during the summer. I realize soy is a staple in Asian cuisine, but that is precisely why this was Our Place. She is allergic to soy and felt safe eating here, and only here, for ramen. My personal opinion is that sometimes theres too much rice in the don bowls but that's just me, my boyfriend thinks they're perfectly proportioned. Sometimes during peak hours it can be a little bit slow to move through the line but I always think the food is worth it. The raw fish is always of super quality, weve never had a problem. Soooooo I am not sure why I have never been here before or heard about this place until recently. I decided to go today as I have been dying to try this place out. It's a make your own sushi dish per day as not only is it maki (burrito), you can also make a bowl, seaweed cone or salad. I was under the impression it was just a sushi burrito place. WRONG! So I built my own sushi Maki as that is what I was dreaming about all day. You get there you choose was option you want then the rice, protein, sauces, veggies, toppings and bam you have your finished product. My husband and I both got Makis his with crab stick and mine with shrimp tempura. At first I was lost because I am not sure what sauce is what it if this would taste good with that. I did a mix of sauces and made it my own and boy was it delicious. I am trying to think why I went so long without hearing or eating here. They have some apps and it seems like there is a different restaurant attached which was a little odd. My husband did not like the texture of the seaweed being on the outside, but it did not bother me. He ate the whole thing so it couldn't of been that bad -haha. The service was great you get in line kind of like if you have been to chipotle or MOD pizza and order what you like they ask for here or to go and bam your done. Sitting area for this place is small we sat at a window seat in which I thought would be awkward and uncomfortable, but it was not. My only complaint I guess would be that it's a bit pricey, for 2 sushi burritos and 2 canned sodas it was 29$. At my favorite sushi place I can get 3 rolls and an appetizer with that. I came in unsure of what I wanted to eat. I was very politely greeted when I came in and everything went downhill from there... I saw different types of dumplings and opted for the Crystal Shrimp Dumplings ($5.95) and the Curry Chicken Dumpling ($4.95). It was right there in black and white that each variety of dumplings came with 4 pieces... When I finally got my bag of food to bring home, it was sooooo light, I wondered if there was even anything in the bag!! When I got home,there were 2 tiny clumsily packages with the 2 types of dumplings...they both tasted good but I was MORE hungry after I ate them than I was before I even decided on going here for lunch at somewhere I had never tried... When I drove by a few months and saw that this place was coming, I was over the moon excited. I live so close and it is on the way to work so this is super convenient for me. I have since been twice since opening and I think my boyfriend has gone without me a few times because he is obsessed with it... My first visit I indulged in the seaweed cone filled with chicken tempura, rice, lettuce, spicy mayo and cucumbers. I really enjoyed it, not super filling but a good light meal. My second time I got a sushi burrito which is something I regularly enjoy from Sushi to go in Voorhees. The burritos here are on the larger side which makes for great value and everything tasted great. They also offer sushi bowls, salads, ramen, and assorted appetizers. I look forward to trying the ramen next. The place is beautifully renovated and sets a great vibe to enjoy your food. A few iPads are located in the "Ramen Room" for you to order without human contact...I enjoy this option at times. Pricing is the only reason its not a full 5 stars for me because I would say its on the pricier side but not outrageous. If they run specials in the future it would be wonderful. Service was OK but no explanation of their "version" of ramen. Pricing is OK at approx $13 for ramen but appetizers were over priced and clearly not made in house or fresh (paid $4 for two small spring rolls). Ramen flavor not anything to rave about. Also extra spicy was just extra red without much spice. Finally you need to wait in line to pay with the adjacent sushi takeout place.
