It's hard to find good places to eat unless you are willing to brave the tourists to go to the more crowded areas with longer wait times. Even on Easter night, my husband and I had no issues with getting spots at both a table (and then we changed our minds bc we both wanted hibachi isntead!) and then the grill. The waitresses were dressed in your stereotypical costume kimono, and were very nice and quick at serving and taking dirty dishes off the tables. The hibachi chefs were a lot of fun and cooked/distributed food well and in a fair manner. Good portions too! Hibachi included salad, soup, your choice of rice, yakisoba style noodles, your choice of entree, and vanilla ice cream as dessert. Bathrooms were clean, and parking plentiful. read more

Amazing. I wish I took pictures of my food it was so good. A little pricier than normal hibachi places but you get hibachi entree, rice, noodles, soup, and salad with the added experience of watching them make it in front of you. Stay away.............This is the worst place I have been to in a very long time. wait staff absolutely the worst. I understand places are short staff that was not the case here. Okinawa's is your typical teppanyaki steak house. I've only been here once for the flashy theatrics and I wasn't all that impressed. To give them credit, I'm usually never impressd at teppanyaki restaurants. I don't care if they make a flamming volcano or can slice a raw egg in half while doing a back flip or whatever; I just want good food. And like most teppanyaki places, the food isn't all that great. Their sushi is OK but I suggest Harbor Docks if you really want good sushi. Their waitresses all dress up in kimono's and speak with Asian accents. I don't know if that's fake or real, but I should probably be offended on some level being Japanese myself. I think they just try too hard and miss the mark. read more

Took my son there to celebrate his 14th birthday with Hibachi grilled food. What a wonderful experience. With 6:30 reservations we went right in and was done eating within an hour. 3 1/2 stars but my phone doesn't let me do half stars. Let me just start by saying the food was NOT bad and this place WASN'T dirty. I got the chicken teriyaki box which comes with, you guessed it, teriyaki chicken as well as a soup, salad, 4 California rolls, 3 fried wonton type food (gyoza), a few pieces if vegetable tempura and fried rice which was hands down the best part of the combo. The main reason for the lack of stars was that when my wife and I ordered the soup, we didn't know we had the option of choosing miso soup which comes with this type of lunch at almost every other similar restaurant I've ever been to, so I wasn't a big fan of the house soup....get the miso soup. The other minor issue I had was that it ONLY included veggie tempura. Again, most similar restaurants I've been to offer a piece or two of shrimp tempura as well instead of only 3 pieces of veggie.....I like to eat, what can I say!? Like I said, the food was good...not great, but better than average. I just wish I had known about the other substitutions I could've made and wish there was a little better mixture in the combo boxes as that is always what I get at hibachi type restaurants. read more

First time here from Georgia for a vacation. Had such an enjoyable dinner. Prices are good for portion sizes. Had the yakisoba meal. Comes in a bento box which was a pleasant surprise because i was expecting just the noodles itself. But the extra sides are most welcomed! Waitress was pleasant and quick and informative. A+! Sister ordered the chicken teriyaki meal and she said teriyaki sauce was very good. So must try as well. Ordered a New York roll and it was hot and fresh! God, I wish I could say I really love this place. I was regular there, it's a good date night place to go. The decor is wannabe Japanese and the staff is a little rude, but no big deal. Got recommended this place by a local while asking around at an aquarium. The ambiance was nice and the staff were friendly and attentive. The thing that blew us away was the food. It came out quickly. We ordered the hibachi filet mignon and the tonkatsu bento box. Both were exceptional. We both got clear soup which was delicious and flavorful. The steak was tender and perfectly cooked medium (a rare occurrence, even in steak houses) , the vegetables were delicious and the rice is amazing. The waitress kept pushing for us to sit at the hibachi grill even though we kept saying a table is fine. When ordering she admitted that she didn't know how to pronounce certain items on the menu. We arrive at 6:45 on a Sunday night and the place was packed. This is the 3rd or 4th time I have been here and I have never had a bad meal. I usually eat vegetarian but tonight I felt like trying meat so as a flexitarian mostly not meat eater, the meat better be tasty and they did not disappoint. I had the filet mignon hibachi. I'm not sure what has happened at this restaurant. I am actually still in dismay from tonight's dinner. I have been going there for over ten years. They have consistently prepared sushi above the average sushi bar. Today's visit was the first in the past year. The prices were ridiculously high $9 (most restaurants $7) for a salmon skin roll and $16 (typically $13-14) for a rainbow roll. This is not a 4 or 5 star restuarant in the first place. The decor is worn and old. There was a small piece of salmon skin and the rainbow roll's fish was not soft nor fresh. Most shocking was a sushi rice that was dry. Someone at my table ordered eel sauce on the side which should be thick but was the consistency of soy sauce, vinegary and not very sweet. It clearly had been watered down. She had them bring her another one and it was the same. I was very perplexed. I assumed the resturant is having financial issues and ordering poor quality sushi ingredients, watering down ingredients which I know it has been hard the last few years, but this is all unacceptable. I was going to let it go as a bad night UNTIL I got the check and saw the added 18% gratuity (they would had recieved 20-25% because the wait staff were very attentive and nice people. There was two of us at the table and our bill for 4 rolls and vegetable tempura for $70.00 in a run down restaurant that's quality was poor. I will never go there again. I purposefully did not go to the new thai and sushi restaurant up the road becuase I believe in being a loyal customer. I will not be return here and now will go to the new place to give them a try. read more

My husband and I both got a dinner bento box and a green tea. Our bill came to about $40.00. The reason I took 2 starts away is because the restaurant is hot and there needs to be air conditioning! Also, my husband and I both don't eat seafood. We asked if we could replace the California rolls with an avocado roll or a cucumber roll and they said no. While pricey, I've always enjoyed the food (generally get the chicken hibachi). I can certainly take or leave the"hibachi experience", though it was fun to see once. I've recently discovered their lunch service, and it's a great deal since you get almost as much food as the dinner but for much less (sometimes as low as a third the dinner price!) And the lunches come with tempura veggies! So as I read the other reviews, on some I wonder if we even ate at the same restaurant. Highly recommended. read more

My only go to spot for Hibachi Steak around FWB. I am the guy who asks the chef to cook the fat with the steak instead of throwing it away and if any of the other guest doesn't want theirs, put it on mine. Flavor wise it's a typical food chain Hibachi. Their nigiri sushi is pretty good and slightly bigger size than others around. My favorite roll is the Play Girl Roll. I think inside decoration could use a little more brightness/light. read more
