The last couple of times I ate at Okinawa I have received the absolute worst service, I honestly told myself I was never coming back!!! My friend and I decided to go back and I am so glad we did because our service was phenomenal! Our server Cantrell was more then joyful and great at his job! He constantly checked on us to make sure we were satisfied and he was so funny and sweet because of him we will definitely be back! I would 100% recommend him to anyone! read more

This is one of my favorite restaurants to go to! Whether I am ordering to go or dining in the food is always amazing. You can't go wrong with sushi and fried rice. My only con is how much the prices have changed since they first opened. I understand that has to open in the restaurant industry, and you do get a good amount food for your money. Good sushi, terrible service. Our waitress was unfriendly and flustered, and not helpful at all. Apparently Tuesday at 6-7 is Amateur Hour at Okinawa. Sure they were busy, but you put your head down and do your best, you don't take it out on the customers. Great food!! Got a few appetizers to sample and they were all fresh, hot, and delicious. Tried a sushi roll was amazing. Only down side was when we got there were told ten mins. Ended up waiting almost 40 mins. The two teenage girls that I guess are hostess we're not very nice. Will definitely order to go or make a reservation. Over all great food!! read more

Unfortunately this place has gone downhill. Tried eating here tonight. Stood at Hostess Station for over 6 minutes. No one came to greet us or sit us. When we drove off a few minutes later waiting for the rain to break there was still no one there. . 1 hibachi table in use by the entrance with a few people. Have eaten numerous times here at the hibachi tables and it is always good. I recently stopped in and decided to give the menu side a try - sorry I did. The food was expensive and very disappointing. I ordered a combination of steak and shrimp (which is what I always order at the grill tables) and it was flavorless. The steak was tough and had absolutely no taste. I must say the shrimp were fresh but again, tasted bland. I opted for fried rice instead of the steamed rice the plate came with and it turned out to be the steamed rice with just a touch of soy sauce (parts of the rice were still white) and for this they charge an extra $1.95 to the already expensive, tasteless entree. The sushi menu is extensive, including classics and choices for the less adventurous (no raw fish). The Caterpillar Roll is expertly done and delicious. Sake is available to pair with your sushi. Two dining rooms; one is Hibachi. There's a sushi bar. There's also a trendy, modern bar in the back of the Hibachi dining room that adults can enjoy...you can eat there as well. We ordered from Door Dash and when the food arrived we were missing one complete meal, and a side of rice. We called Okinawa and they said too bad, they had the order out and our Door Dash driver must have taken it. The door dash driver was so polite and kind and offered to drive back to pick up the missing food but Okinawa said no, they made it and it was door dash's mistake. Aside from the missing food, we ordered filet and shrimp meals. As usual we ordered the steak medium rare. It was so far from medium rare. It was charred and looked like shoe leather and the taste left a lot to be desired. They left the tails on the shrimp which I have never experienced before. When door dash asked if we wanted all food remade and redelivered.... no thank you. Door dash handled it great, Okinawa will never receive my business again and I do not recommend it to anyone unless they are just starving and need substance to survive. read more

My family and I go here at least twice a month and have for years! My last experience was so unsanitary it's dangerous. Me my dad and my two siblings went here two weeks ago and the woman sitting beside us at the hibachi table complained that her chicken wasn't cooked enough after she had already ate rice and chicken off the plate. The cook had not put any food on our plates yet. So he took the partially eaten food off of the lady's plate rice and all then mixed it in with everyone's food still on the stove. Then tried to serve us all food with this woman's half eaten rice and chicken!! My dad asked to speak to the manager and they said it's ok to mix the food because it's hot!! We walked out right then without having ate anything and they still made us pay for the contaminated food. If they are doing this in front of customers i can't imagine what they are doing back in the kitchen! read more

Usually it is not a bad restraunt. however, don't go there when it is busy, the waitress forgets what you want, the appetizers came after the main course. I asked for no rice, I got rice, the bill came, they deducted my entre's costs, which was good but my night was already ruined.However, they gave me th e bill and never even asked if we wanted desert, which we did. e left anyway.'Ah well.. I just finished eating with my family at Okinawa. First off I don't normally leave reviews and I certainly try not to complain about less than satisfactory service. I understand that the service industry is often a difficult field and those that work in this industry are often very hard workers that are blamed for issues that they have no control over. That said this was by far one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. We arrived at about 2:56pm on a Saturday afternoon. There were three of so I arrived first and went in to the restaurant I was greeted at the door, which was great, taken to a booth beside the window, also great. The rest of my party arrived a minute after I did so the waiter comes to take our drink order. We were ready with the entire order so he take the whole thing, Ali's great. So one member of the group can't eat teriyaki sauce so he orders the hibachi without it being cooked in teriyaki sauce, we've done this before no problem. The other member of the group and myself order the chicken hibachi but cooked normally, we even say we want it cooked the normal way. We also order two appetizers for the table and our three drinks. Everything is still going good. So we wait a few minutes and our salads are brought out and the waiters says "oh I forgot the drinks I usually get those out first." He then leaves the salads and quickly returns with the drinks. Again all is okay. A few minutes later the appetizers come out, still all good. We get our soup which is one of the best parts of the meal. Then our food comes out. This is when the visit goes down hill. To their credit my friends chicken that did not want teriyaki didn't have his chicken cooked in it. The problem is nether did the two of us that did want it. Our hibachi chicken looked as though it had been cooked and then had teriyaki sauce poured on it. We did not say anything about it, see the beginning of this where I try not to complain if possible. Had this been the end of the problem I would have simply taken my food eaten and gone about my day. The waiter asked if everything was good and I responded it was okay, again I try not to complain if I don't have to. So my companions and I eat. The waiter returns once and we request two, to-go boxes for what we have left. We finish eating, box up our leftovers, I have a large dog and he appreciates when I bring him leftovers to go with his dog food. Then we wait and wait and wait some more for our check. No waiter no check. We are looking around and there is nobody in sight. So I tell my companions I will go over to the bar area, there is usual someone there so I can pay or at the very least have them to find either our check or our waiter. Get to the bar and find, hay our waiter taking and order from patrons there. I totally understand so stand at the end of the bar and wait. It seems as though he has finished as he turns away from these two individuals and I think "great now I can pay my bill and get out of here." Nope, instead he turns and begins making a drink. To his credit he does acknowledge me and says he will be with me in a minute. So I'm still standing at the end of this bar waiting. Another waitress comes to the bar, calling the waiters name and says "there's nobody at that table." It's at this point I realize that these people maybe think we have just eaten and left because my two companions are waiting for me at the door, still inside the restaurant but at the door. I speak up and say, "that's because I'm standing here trying to pay my bill." The waitress responds, though I don't recall exactly how, hands me the bill and walks away. So now I'm holding my bill and the money to pay it but there is no one to give it to as the waitress has left and the original waiter is still making a drink. I consider simply leaving the bill and money at the end of the bar where I have been standing but think better of it as the total was $59 and some change. So instead I'm like ok I will just hand it to this waitress that is walking back this way with a group that she is going to be sitting. This was the same waitress that handed me the bill so I'm thinking "why not." Well I walk up to her and hand her the bill and the money, I gave $60 not thinking about change just take the money and I can leave. Will this waitress says "he will have to take care of that for you." In response to this I said I'm not waiting on him any more and walked past her, she did take the money and the bill. I found my companions at the door waiting on me and we left. We did end up leaving a small tip on the table for the waiter, though that was because we left on the table before I went over to the bar and began my waiting there. I began this when I left the restaurant at about 3:55pm. So a little over an hour we spent and I can promise that we did not take that long to eat. read more

Finally! A great sushi restaurant in the North GA mountains....oh, they serve cooked food too. We moved here from Ft. Lauderdale, FL and have been waiting five years for sushi up here. They also have a full bar, hibachi grill and a great staff. There is a separate room full of tables for sushi eaters as well as a sushi bar if you want to be right in front of the sushi chefs! Great fresh fish. We eat there about once every couple weeks and love it! read more

The restaurant was freezing cold... Even though it was very busy. Our poor cook.. Must have been the first night he ever cooked on the hibachi grill. He dropped several utensils and when he tried to do the "volcano" it all fell apart. The two lady waitress were laughing at him and it was obvious he was embarrassed. I give this place 4 stars due to the great quality of the food. The sushi and rolls are terrific-- try the Florida roll It is fantastic! Also good are the Fantasy Roll and the House Special Roll. Tempura is fine. The service is pretty bad though and if you do take out, DON'T do it on the $1 sushi night or you will literally wait an hour or more for your order. So, it's a mixed bag but we keep going because the food is really wonderful. read more

Great food, but terrible, terrible service. You will love the food here, especially the sushi, but don't expect to get your drink refilled or for your food to come out at the same time. There isn't really another sushi place around the area so it is better than nothing but I wouldn't say that the food is worth the headache of dealing with poor customer service. read more

We have always enjoyed coming here, but lastnight it was short staffed, the hibachi chef was not that good and very in experienced. The food didn't taste the same, and we got very little food for the price. They didn't refill my glass, or even ask, and charged a 18%gratuity for for people. I normally tip very good, but this service only deserved a 10% tip. Won't be going back for a while. read more

We have been long time visitors to Okinawa but their quality has been lacking and when we ate there New Years Eve for our wedding anniversary it was the most disappointing anniversary dinner I have ever had. The young Asian lady that took our order reached in front of another diner and took her salad and placed it in front of me. I was disgusted! I have never had a restaurant give me someone else's food before! The soup was served with no spoons an when we called out to another servers, she brought us plastic spoons and said there weren't any other spoons. Our order was messed up and the calamari wasn't seasoned and tasted like hard rubber pencil erasers! The steak was not cooked, it was literally browned and then raw and still COLD in the middle. For the price we paid we could of had a better meal at the Burger King in the same parking lot. We won't be returning which is a shame because we love Japanese food. We will travel further to eat somewhere that respects their customers. Thanks for the worst anniversary dinner I've ever had! read more
