We have gone here about 3 x in the last few months. The kids love the show the chef puts on. We have decided that lunch is better because less crowded and a lot cheaper for the same thing. They put a lot of oil and butter in it....I asked them to put none and it's better. A bit of a language barrier with chef and some wait staff. Not a lot of options in this area, so I'm glad that we can add this place to our rotation. read more

Their food delicious, more authentic then we imagined. A nice change especially after eating only BBQ for the first few days. The staff are friendly, professional and quick. My husband can eat BBQ every day so this place was a fun and Super Yummy change! They have a full bar & lots of Sake cocktails and happy hour. Their YummYumm sauce is too good to be true! read more

This is my favorite restaurant in Ellijay and my favorite place to eat Hibachi. I've eaten here countless times over the years and it's consistently delicious and high quality. Last night we ate there again for hibachi and sushi. The scallops tasted amazing and were cooked to perfection. The California roll was fresh and tasty. The fried rice is always great. The hot green tea was refreshing. The chef was friendly and fun. I was also so excited to see they use compostable straws now! My only little hang up is I ordered one thing to go and there were no noodles like you get when you eat in person. Not sure if that's normal. And, the salad dressing was ranch instead of ginger as requested. Not a deal breaker. I love this place and will continue to eat here. read more

The food is pretty good here but for lunch it is incredibly slow!! Over an hour spent and I am still waiting on my check! No refill for my empty glass, either. It is no wonder that the restaurant is empty on a Friday at noon, who has that kind of time at lunch? This is my second visit here and a duplicate of the first one. Definitely a gem of Sushi and Hibachi place in Ellijay. The restaurant is very clean from outside to inside. The interior is smartly decorated with a nice vibe. We ordered sushi rolls, roasted eel bowl, pork noodle soup, and shrimp tempura. Everything is tasty and with generous portion. Highly recommended! read more

This is a decent Japanese establishment for the area. I've had pretty good sushi here twice and tonight was my first hot table here. My daughter enjoyed her sushi again and shared my salmon and scallop meal. Monday nights has 9.95 deal for the hibachi tables. The cook was very very late coming to the table and we waited a half hour to start. The cook also cooked rice and noodles first. Then we waited for the meat or protein to be cooked. My scallops were ok and my salmon was decent. Very skinny prices sliced thin. My dad is vegetarian so waiting til the end to cook veggies kept him waiting to eat what he ordered. My daughter waited until the end to see a in show that never happened. No flipping, diving, jokes or tricks at all. ZERO! Not even the famous volcano or Choo Choo train! Mediocre food, good sushi, and a boring prep of an expensive meal on a Sat night. Three stars is fair! Maybe our cook was new and not trained yet. Oh and he is not Asian at all. read more

I had the Bakery Roll and my husband had chicken teriyaki. Both were delicious. Service was spot on. They never disappoint.

I had dinner here with my fiancé's family and, for the location, it's a real lifesaver if you're hankering for some sushis in the north Georgia mountains. The miso soup was good! That being said, the quality and cut of the sushi atop the nigiri was average and its presentation was so-so. They do have a wide selection of both nigiri and rolls however, but no escolar! Can you guess why? ;) we got the lemon roll which was surprisingly good with a thin piece of actual lemon on top to bring the flavors the fish and citrus together in a nice crunch. It is so fantastic to have a restaurant like this in this type of rural vacation area. read more

This place was great! Certainly never would have expected it in Ellijay! The food was fantastic and the service was great too! In particular the sushi chef was outstanding. His name is Neil. He took such great care to create a positive experience... I thought he was the owner! Stopped by during our meal to make sure we were happy ... even sent over a taste of something special and delicious just because. If I had a restaurant... I'd want the whole place filled with people like Neil. So good we went 2 nights in a row!! read more

We had dinner here on Christmas Eve. The food was very good. Not much of a sushi menu, but the roll I had was very good. We ate at the hibachi grill, had shrimp and filet, it was very good. The bill was about half of what we normally would spend having a comparable meal in Florida. We will be back the next time we go up to the cabin. read more

No......If you've had traditional Japanese food before you won't like this place. The Maki and Sushi was good and fresh, but everything else wasn't close to what it should be. The fired rice was especially disappointing. It's literally rice thats fired. No sake, no oyster sauce, no ginger, no garlic, just rice and oil. If you go here and stick to the Sushi bar you'll do fine, venture away though and you're on your own. read more

Yes, hibachi in Ellijay. Not exactly what you'd expect to find, but we had a delightful time. I'd forgotten how much fun hibachi can be. Can't complain about the portions; frankly the steak/chicken portions were so generous after soup and salad, that I really couldn't even eat the sides. Let me start off by saying the food was really good! There is a nice variety of rolls and everything we ordered was really yummy. Staff was friendly and prompt. The atmosphere was not as good. It's located in a strip mall. My husband and I sat at a regular table, although a hibachi table was offered. The lighting in the regular table room was flickering. Every light! Tried calling and was put on hold for over 15 minutes. Not really hold - just put the phone down (could hear them). Called from another phone and the line was busy. The dining room was not open so we were not able to place an order. Drove down and went in. Placed an order and it was ready within 30 minutes. Food was ok - a little on the greasy side. Sat quick, then was ignored for a half hour after ordering drinks...and the drinks never even came. The same waitress continued to serve her previous tables and to even seat new customers that were still coming into the restaurant...movie plans are shot now all to her...customers that came in agter us even got their alcoholic drinks and we only ordered pop. Very poor waitress. Ordered lunch, asked for NO onions on anything... onions in salad dressing, onions in entree. Other order was to be scallops and received shrimp. Ordered appetizers they forgot to put in the order, when they came only 1 person at a time had them. Specifically asked for white rice on one entree and fried on another, both got fried. Family vacation we stopped to eat for a birthday dinner. We had a large group and they accommodated without a problem. Only setback was that they only had 1 hibachi cook and so our wait for cooked food was over an hour. The staff should have advised us of this before seating us. Best Japanese food and Sushi you will find unless your in the Pacific Ocean and less expensive. We ate here 4-5 times in 12 days. Should have gone more. So many restaurants, so little time. Seriously, give this place a shot because we want it in business when we return in a few months. Maybe I'm spoiled with so many solid Hibachi/Teppanyaki restaurants in my home town (Kobe, Japan Inn, Nami, etc.), but Okinawa was terrible. The Monday night $9.95 special is intriguing, but it doesn't include a lot! They say "add this for $1" or "add that for $4, and then it started to add up (extra for soup, extra for fried rice, extra for a different kind of meats/fish) - before you know it, you're eating bad quality food at the same price as the aforementioned name brands. Our server was obviously new, and very confused by the menu - she couldn't answer questions, and didn't seem happy to be working there either. The hibachi chef did some fun fire tricks (better than my last trip to Benihana), but the food did not quite measure up. The amount of butter placed on every item made my jaw drop! I am all for the occasional "butter-fly" hibachi trick, but we're talking like a stick of butter for rice, half a stick of butter for the chicken, half a stick for the salmon, etc. The chicken, fried rice, and noodles tasted fine - but the salmon was ATROCIOUS. Possibly the worst salmon I have ever had in a restaurant - fishy tasting, hard, and lots of brown spots. No amount of butter could fix that salmon. Another hibachi staple for me is "yum yum sauce" (also known as Sakura sauce or white sauce), and I was happy to hear that they had it (also missing from my latest Benihana experience), but it was pink, a bit too sweat, and almost artificial tasting - the prepackaged squeeze bottle in the Ethnic aisle at my local Publix tastes much better. When it came time for the check, all three parties at our table were charged incorrectly. Our server had to correct our bill THREE times - so make sure you check your receipt before paying. Very disappointing. Salt and Pepper Calamari was terrible... So bad we sent it back. Tony had the steak and noodles which he found tasteless even with their yum yum sauce. I ordered the Lemon and Ocean roll. The rolls were small and sushi grade was sub par. Overpriced and barely deserving of 1 star. read more
