Our sushi, entrees and drinks were really good and they did a great job at flipping tables. -Appreciate : They effectively separate the hibachi section from the dining area that would usually make the environment "louder". We couldn't even hear their section. -Areas to consider: They're a popular spot (rightfully) and so it's best to make a reservation ESPECIALLY if you'll have a party bigger than four. There was a significant amount of people waiting as we were leaving but they do remind you of your dining time because of this. So this may not be a place you would usually sit and sip after your food. We didn't ask for a booster seat for our toddler, but it also wasn't offered so it's something to consider if you're bringing little ones. read more

We have been to the big, national, hibachi restaurant many times but OKKO really was a MUCH better experience. Starting with the hibachi menu pricing. We could not believe how much less it was than we are used to paying (and expected to pay for being in Hilton Head). It still came with Miso soup (loaded with mushrooms) and salad (with a really good ginger salad dressing, that was more like a buttermilk flavor than ginger). Our server was very attentive and kept us hydrated all throughout the meal. Franko, our chef, was fun and efficient. The amount of fried rice you get is double what you'd expect and we were very happy they have Yum Yum sauce. All in all, this was one of the best hibachi experiences we have ever had! read more

Food good. I had rolls, family had hibachi. Chicken, filet and chicken, filet and salmon. All tender, good size of fried rice (surprisingly standard), vegetables, and meat. Our chef was boring compared to one at next table. Waiter service good. Parking easy. Negative is hibachi closed from 3pm to 430pm. We made online reservations for 4pm, and found out hibachi closed when we arrived. They need to fix that. read more

S U P E R B Asian cuisine and excellent service. Our first visit to Okko was a enjoyable and delicious Valentines Day dinner out. We made our reservation (off season aw few weeks out) and had a great romantic two-top table near the Sushi raw bar. Okko's decor is very posh and they played great relaxing background music. We were quickly seated and started off with Eggrolls with duck and a spicy tuna roll both were delicious. They have good wine and cocktail list - we went with a bottle of Prosecco. We enjoyed a tasty house salad and a bowl of hot soup. For our entree's (which were served well spaced without a rush) we enjoyed Pineapple Rice with Chicken and Cashews as well as the Hibachi Combination dinner with shrimp, chicken, and beef. Both entrees were huge, steaming hot, and wonderful. Our server was excellent and we can't wait to go back to Okko. Be advised during summer season - the reservations are difficult. We ate in the regular restaurant, not the hibachi side. Menu is a mix of Sushi, Thai and Chinese.....basically a little bit of everything and our group covered each area. Sushi was fresh and tasty, The drunken noodles was good but a bit heavy on the sauce and lacked any spice so had to ask for some chili oil to put some heat into it. The Red curry dish was the best dish at our table. The lo mein was average and the soups (miso and wanton) were okay. Service, in general, was good although the server only ran through one round of drinks. He never pressed us if we wanted another round and he was moving so fast we never got a chance to ask. Was not a big issue as we weren't in a big drinking mood but if we were I think we would have been more annoyed. The hibachi side seamed busy and noisy meaning the people seamed to be enjoying the show. Would definitely recommend a reservation for the hibachi side. We would likely try other choices on the Island for Thai before coming back but if we were in the area and wanted Sushi we would probably come here again. read more

It's kind of a cool looking place. Very modern and inviting looking. However the food was far from inspiring. Did it take out order there with a combination of sushi, soup, entrées, and a couple of appetizers. The order was correct but the soup was not that tasty. Neither were the entrées. The sushi itself was a little tough and dry. To top it off they add a gratuity to takeout orders which I challenged the hostess about. All she did was shrug and move onto the next customer. I will not be back because the food is not that good and I don't like it when they tack on gratuities for carry out orders. A solid candidate for the the notion that f you've been to one hibachi restaurant, you've been to 'em all. For that matter, if you are out for a hibachi dinner, it's more likely because you're in a group that is out for a more social/festive/celebratory reason, rather than for the finest gastronomical experience. Add in the "tourist tax" and other modulations because it's in Hilton Head (slightly higher prices, slightly smaller portions, slightly lower quality, significantly higher saltiness), and well, there really shouldn't be any surprises. It was a bit humorous to see how much they skew from "traditional" Japanese food (e.g., hibachi, sushi, yakitori) to nearly the entire Asian continent (all kind of Chinese, Thai, etc.). But again, chances are that if you're here and you are serious about your food, this is a night to lower expectations and just enjoy yourself and your friends/family...it's what I did during this once-a-year thing where our family comes from all over for summer vacation. read more

I would never imagine this place is so good if I was just walking by and saw it from the outside. It is located at a very simple and not very popular mall area but I'm so glad we took it a chance on it still. The volcano roll was the best I ever had. Octopus salad was incredible, fried calamari was delicious and my lemon drop martini was also great. Sup folks.... Do I recommend this place? Absolutely. First time here. I ate like a pig and everything was good. Got a Big Mac, Perfect Naruto, and 3 more and were all great. I know the Big Mac is expensive but "it's pretty big" (that's what she said). Probably one of the best places in Hilton head for sushi. The service was super fast and the waiter supper sharp. This place is popular!I There was an hour wait to be seated and a 44 min wait for to-go orders. We opted to get a to-go order. We ordered the fried calamari and tempura shrimp/veggies appetizers. My husband ordered the Crazy Friday roll. I ordered the following rolls for myself and my daughter: Sweet Potato, Alaska, Shrimp & Avocado, and Shrimp Tempura. Everything was very good. My son ordered the Spicy Tuna, Spicy Yellowtail, and Spicy Salmon rolls. All were requested to be gluten free. Unfortunately, when we got back to our resort we realized they had messed up on his orders and included the non-GF crunchies. Thankfully he noticed and alerted us before eating them. We called the restaurant and they promptly refunded our card for those rolls. But it left my son devastated and with few options to eat. I also was a little disappointed that the 3 gluten free rolls were not all packaged together, risking possible cross-contamination. I really wanted to give them 5 stars. But the gluten-free mix-up was too big of an issue to ignore. I would definitely be willing to try them again, especially if we are able to dine in. I tried the shrimp and my husband tried the bolgoki korean beef (spicy) and chicken hibachi and both were delicious- would definitely say that the bolgoki beef is our new favorite. Salads were great, miso soup was a little bland but still okay. Had the watch man roll to go and it was great as well. Our waiter was having a busy night and had us as his last table for the day and brought us out some fried doughnuts and chocolate as a little treat- super nice of him! read more

I had a great time here for a family dinner on vacation! We sat at a big hibachi table with a very large party, and the chef took great care of us. I also tried a California roll as an appetizer, and it was great! I'll come back here next time I'm in Hilton Head and craving sushi. The food was delicious ad servings were plentiful. My only complaint is that when my family called to ask for any dining specials, the person on the phone told us they didn't have any. Then, we show up and there was a lunch menu that we would have used.
