Enjoyed Sunday breakfast and enjoyed it tremendously! Highly recommend. The waitstaff are extremely friendly and efficient. It was a bit of a wait but well worth it. I had a BLT and it was unlike any I have ever had. Didn't know a BLT could melt in your mouth. Everyone in my family has a different entree and everyone raves about their meal. This will be my second negative review of this restaurant. After patronizing this restaurant for at least 5 years no more. Lettie is a very rude, disrespectful employee. At least every 3 months for the past 5 years a group of us go to brunch and a play. There can be any where from 5 to 10 of us. We wait patiently then even if only a few of us are there were grab a table. Sunday is always a very big day for customers. Twice Lettie had made us feel unwelcome and disrespectful. Even ignoring party. Offer of no refreshments given as we waited. No more I'm done. I even escalated to manager whom I guess will eventually get back to me. read more

My first time there today and my experience was ok. I ordered the shrimp po boy and broccoli cheddar soup. The soup was bland. Almost like eating boiled broccoli in velveeta. The poboy had some amazing flavors. Remoulade, field greens, blackened shrimp, tomatoes, yumm. But honestly four shrimps? The picture attached is half the sandwich. I've been several times and the last time I visited I took my foodie of a boyfriend. He doesn't eat pork/beef so I knew the menu didn't have many options for him. He asked our sever if there was anything special off the menu the cook could make us and turned out the cook on the line that night was the owner. The owner wowed my boyfriend with his dish and made us feel like a celebrity guest. He gave us a tour of the place and talked to my boyfriend though it was late and time to close shop. Not once did anyone make us feel we had to leave which is rare in a restaurant setting. The food is amazing the drinks were good and the employees there are beyond the sweetest! One of the best meals I've ever had. We ordered the Hob Burger + Buttermilk pancakes. I can taste the burger before even taking a bite. The pancakes melted in my mouth. Definitely adding this place to my go to list of restaurants. Plus the service was friendly and fast! read more

First time here. Service was decent. Nice mom and pop feel. I ordered the Wednesday special, Shrimp and Grits. They were meh. Watery grits. They also put some link sausage in it which was annoying cause I don't eat pork... so had to fish that out along with the bacon bits. My buddy got a burger. He enjoyed it (but would eat a shoe if that was served). I always like to eat at local spots. Might go back. Pictures of salads look good. I'll try that next if I'm ever in the area. read more

Brought the daughter in for our daddy-daughter end of school "date," This restaurant is a quaint little joint in old Rosenberg, just down the street from the railroad museum. We were greeted quickly, orders taken, and meals brought timely. I went with the BLT, while the kid went for the Cajun Poboy...sans bread and toppings. So yea...grilled shrimp and fries. Both dishes were very good! The fries were nice and crunchy and we had a ball. The place and food were good enough but I wouldn't make a trip down here just to eat here. What an adorable and charming little cafe right in the heart of downtown. We were quite early meeting up with friends for karaoke nextdoor and decided to have an appetizer. The fried Mac-n-cheese was ok, but it definitely didn't mesh well with the cranberry jam. I mean, really destroyed the whole experience. I'm not counting this against them, however, because it's an opinion & everyone is entitled to one. I'm just not a fan and neither was my boyfriend. The real winner here was the pot roast. I ordered it to be given to me in the room nextdoor along with the pork chop ($27!!!!!) so we could enjoy the music. The food was excellent (my mouth is watering just thinking about it). The pot roast was quite affordable, the pork chop was ridiculously expensive, but he said it was good. Not Perry's good, but better than most & with the $27 price tag it should be. Service was amazing until we went into the room nextdoor. They're connected and we were encouraged to go on over, but the service was absolutely awful. That's where the point was deducted. We had to wait on ourselves with no drink refills, ordering through the connecting window. I still had a great meal and a fantastic visit. There's so much to do in such a pretty small space. They were doing a Golden Girls murder mystery upstairs and karaoke nextdoor. We're definitely returning for the murder mystery. read more

Rosenberg isn't a big town, and unless you saw the TV show this restaurant was featured on (The Texas Bucket List) you probably wouldn't know it exists, tucked away in the back of the historic downtown. Ol' Railroad Cafe is your classic, small-town diner: park on the street nearby, walk in through the squeeky front door and grab a seat at one of the many tables. The lunch menu isn't large, but the food is good- mostly hamburgers and sandwiches, with a daily lunch special to choose from as well. I had the Santa Fe Grilled Chicken Melt and it was fantastic! Service was great, with an attentive waiter who kept our glasses full and was never more than a step away when we needed him. If you're here with kids, be sure to stop by the Railroad museum on the other side of the block after lunch for some family fun, or check out their online events to find the best time to visit the restaurant. They often have murder-mystery dinners, holiday events, and kid events that can make your visit even more enjoyable. Good food, great service, and classic small-town Texas charm? Located in the historic Rosenberg Vogelsang building which is home to the BR Vino Wine Bar, Vogelsang Heritage Hall & Second Floor Gallery and of course, Ol' Railroad Cafe. As you enter into the rustic Ol' Railroad Cafe the dining room is a long and vertical with the bar in the right back and open kitchen to the left. Exposed brick walls, large windows and open beams greet you as you enter on the hardwood floors. I ordered the very tasty Santa Fe Grilled Chicken Melt; Tender grilled chicken breast, warm and gooey pepper jack cheese, grilled onions, avocado, mixed greens on a super soft sour dough bun. Served with one of 4 choices from fries, seasonal fruit, chilies or side salad. I selected the extremely fresh side salad with field greens, red onions, cucumbers, mangos and Cheddar cheese. The service was excellent and I wanted for nothing. They carry two soups; a daily special and the house soup is JJ'S Baked Potato Soup with bacon, chives, cheddar cheese and sour cream. The menu consists of 6 salads ranging from $9 -$12, 5 burgers at $10 or $12, 2 wraps of blackened chicken BLT or classic club wrap at $10, or 8 sandwiches ranging from $10 - $12. Something to satisfy everyone I would think. They have a gorgeous full bar with all the spirits and only serve Texas Beers. 10 bottled Texas Beer ($3 -$4) and 5 Texas Drafts ($5 a glass). They also serve 6 wines by the glass or bottle; Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Merlot, Moscato, Pinot Grigio and Sauvignon Blanc. Desserts offered today is a brownie with ice cream, bread pudding, coconut cream pie or cheese cake. All looked scrumptious but I was stuffed. I now wish I'd ordered dessert to go. Next time! Went here in the middle of the pandemic and was really impress on how clean the establishment was plus it's connected to an antique shop/museum were I found some amazing decor for my home.
