Yesterday we went to eat there and everything was very delicious. We ordered wings, pizza, which on the menu says pie, and a lemon cookie that comes with a raspberry gelato. God, it's delicious. Very very good pizzas, I have the White pizza because I am a total cheese-freak, but all are exceedingly awesome and tasty and seem to end too soon... I also really like the Meat and Cheese plate, it's meant to be shared (I think that's the idea), but I've gone there alone and had it with a pint or two of Cider and picked at it while listening to live music. It is delicious-the bacon is sooo good and cured in-house-and they rotate the cheeses depending on what's new, or on special, or can make the plate with your preferences. They have some wonderful salads too, local greens and tomatoes, meats and cheeses, chicken or steak. Today i had the beet salad, with pine nuts and goat cheese and a lovely lemon vinaigrette. We got there a bit before opening time so got to be seated first, the breeze was great sitting outside and couldn't have asked for a better lunchtime get together. Service is always good , even great; since some long tables are shared it can get a bit chaotic for the help but there's always a smile from them. It would be one thing if they ever answered their phone--they don't!--but since they refuse to do so, I figured I might as well just drive all the way down from Happy Jack to pick up a pizza. Takeout was "closed." What do you mean takeout is closed? Is your restaurant not open? Meanwhile, the place was beyond packed--good for them--except there's no way to circumvent this issue because they refuse to take reservations. To top it all off, it was my 30th birthday, so thanks for ruining my 30th birthday dinner with your notoriously shit service! We were here before but we took the pizza to go this time we decided to dine in. Very disappointing they were short staffed which I can deal with but when you have your only waitress cleaning tables before handling the guest isn't right or fair to her. The drink Tickle Pickle which I was looking forward too was not worth the price it was barely a drink. The drink itself taste more like Pickle juice and water more than anything and the size was ridiculous. Pizza was so so and the famous beer cheese wasn't all that. Best pizza in Arizona. I live over 2 hours away in the valley and will make the trip for their food. Definitely a great spot to get away from the heat, take in the beautiful mountain views and the fresh air with all the outdoor seating. Despite the fact that they're always busy, the service is fast, and the food comes out pretty quick. We stopped in for lunch right as they opened. It was empty but filled up as we ate. Some of our food was disappointing. The buffalo cauliflower was soggy. The AZ Greens salad was huge but only came with one tiny black cup 1/2 full of dressing. Not nearly enough for the size of the salad. They charged for additional dressing (even when it's for the salad). The roasted veggie pizza was bland. The green chili beer cheese was runny but tasty. My husband loved the Meat Pie. Our waitress was super busy and never had time to check on us so we had to find someone to bring us silverware, refills on our drinks, etc. Overall, it was disappointing. This is our third time visiting this location. There is always a lot of people here. In the summer you may have a weight. They are not open all days of the week. Mainly weekends in the winter. Their pizza is very good and their wings are to die for. They are the full wing and they are big. served with sliced carrots , sliced radish and a dipping sauce. We was seated quickly and one big plus is since it is outside on a patio it is dog friendly. Our dog is very quite and well behaved. She enjoyed the outing as much as we did. I am super picky, and most other pizzas suck. This is one of these reviews to hesitate to write because they're already so busy. My good buddy hit the lottery- he lives walking distance from here. We absolutely devoured and Arizona Greens salad and a Pancho pizza. Both delicious. Plan your Payson / Pine / Strawberry visit around at least one meal here, ideally mid-week at off hours to ensure that you get seated and fed promptly. Parking is tight for 23 foot long vehicles but they make up for that by having a dog friendly patio. Parmesan shakers did not equal the number of tables, a common problem for restaurants. Severely disappointed. My husband and I saw the great reviews and were looking forward to trying the pizza and wings. We ordered a pizza and wings at 5pm and was told it would be an hour and they would call us once our order was done. It was cold and rainy so we decided to go back to our cabin and wait. By 6:30 we still had not heard from them. Me being hangry and pregnant decided to go down there to see what was going on since no one was answering the phone. When we arrived they said "oh it's ready I haven't had time to call". If you are up north visiting the payson/mogollon rim area you have to stop and try this place. I saw the good reviews and was a bit skeptical because of the location but wanted to give it a try. I was visiting pine with a group of friends and decided that this was the perfect time to give it a try. After a hike we stopped in at the tavern for a beer. Great vibes in there I can't recommend enough. My buddy had a great conversation with the bartender about the local sasquatch lore. Because of this great interaction we decided to come back for dinner. A bit skeptical we walked down to eat. We had a large party of 8 and it was a 30 minute wait. Usually this would be an issue but with a beautiful patio, cornhole, and bar access we enjoyed a beautiful sunset waiting for our table. Once the table was ready we sat down swiftly and were ready to order. The waitress was great accommodating a large group. We ordered 4 pizzas for the table and they were all amazing. The clam was the best pizza and is a must try. Pesto, lemon, calabrian chili is a party in your mouth convo. The crust on the pizza is well structured but still has a flop. 40% half chub vibes. The whole group agreed that it was a great decision to eat here. Great food, great drinks, and great vibes. Overall I would 100% recommend coming here if you are in the area. We adventured to pine Arizona to old county inn just to get one of my favorite pizzas (pepperoni, this time for a simple pizza . Also, the meat pizza is amazing as well) and the green chile beer cheese dip with breadsticks (it has a little kick, but i, who can't handle much spicy, loves it, you will too). The dip is also good for dipping your pizza crust. It's all so fresh and good! Joyce, our server was great! She seemed to serve for many tables but was so attentive to all that we never seemed like we waited long for anything. It's such a cute little restaurant that has a small bar and indoor seating area with the majority of seating outside with heaters/fireplace for winter and fans for summer. It's also dog friendly, which is a bonus for us while traveling with dogs. The only downside it's a one bathroom stall type restaurant, which is kinda crazy when they are super busy and on the weekends they stay pretty busy none stop but don't let that stop you from trying out this amazing little firewood style pizza place in pine Arizona. I absolutely had a time, the wait was long but that's expected for a Saturday. The staff were super friendly and prompt. We did wait a while but when I spoke to the staff he was FULLY apologetic about the long wait an competed us some of our food since we had ordered at 2:01 and didn't get it until 2:40ish. The ticket didnt go to the kitchen. But we were not upset because they were upfront and honest. The food was delicious, came out hot and fresh. The pizza toppings were pretty good and the mixtures were delicious. We got chips, breadsticks, also the chicken strips but it was all good! I would definitely recommend trying out the hawaiian pizza and the chips they were seasoned really well. The dipping sauces were good too! We sat outside there were fans but there is a fireplace. But it was super clean, I noticed people brought their dogs to the outside patio which wasn't thay bad. They were very well mannered. Although it was pretty busy, we were sat within twenty minutes. Pizza took a bit, but it was understandable given the fact that it's wood-fired. My wife and I split the Pancho pizza and it was delicious. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and the establishment itself was pretty family friendly. There was music playing, but was at a volume that you could easily converse with those at your table. We came at night so the string lights were turned on - giving a relaxing mood.
