My party of five had a memorable dinner at Old Hickory Steakhouse this past Monday evening. Chris was our server and he was fabulous! We started with some really great bottles of wine and a dozen oysters. The east coast ones were our favorite. We also enjoyed the fresh rolls and butter. Delicious! A couple of us had the Chilean Sea Bass entree and others at the table enjoyed steak. We shared a side of brussels sprouts and a loaded baked potato. This was plenty of food but we ended up also sharing a tiramisu and lemon merengue special dessert. The desserts were not anything too special but everything else was very good. This restaurant is expensive but high quality. If you're in the area (or at the Gaylord) and seeking a steakhouse meal, this is your place. Enjoy!

We recently dined at Old Hickory Steakhouse and left with mixed feelings. The food itself was quite good in many ways. The lobster bisque was delicious, the Caesar salad with anchovies was excellent, and the steak was cooked perfectly. I also enjoyed the baked potato initially, although the inside became quite dry after the top layer. What disappointed me most was the overall atmosphere, especially considering the very high price point. For a steakhouse charging premium prices, I expected a more upscale and elegant dining experience. The lack of tablecloths and the overall ambiance made it feel less luxurious and refined than I anticipated. The service was wonderful! We had a server that knew the menu and made great recommendations. A great steakhouse experience is about more than just the food. It's also about the setting, presentation, and feeling of occasion. While the meal had several highlights, I wish the restaurant's atmosphere better matched the pricing and quality of the cuisine.

My dad was in town for a work trip, so naturally I suggested we hit a steakhouse for dinner. Old Hickory was, in one word, decadent: the ambiance is classy, the art decor on the wall is refined, and the food is incredibly flavorful and satiating. My dad had a filet and scallops, we split an order of Brussels sprouts, and I had a filet and lobster tail. Uncle Britt was funny, attentive, and briefly shared his inspiring life journey with us as he poured us each a glass of Cab Sav. I truly couldn't have envisioned a better meal. Definitely recommend making reservations and trying this place out!

Great experience at the old hickory steakhouse. Went 2 times during my stay, always sat at the bar. Super kind servers and friendly staff, very proactive and quick to bring things out or clean the eating area which I can appreciate. Did the oysters, the Cesar salad the carpaccio and the shrimp. Everything was good. I will say that the dressing on the salad was a bit acid from the vinegar. I enjoyed it, but my companion said it was too much for him. I'm not sure if it's a one off or that's the recipe I like extra dressing he doesn't so for those of you that don't like a lot of dressing. It might be a little bit much. They did bring over some bread and it was sooo good, steaming hot Yumm and their butter had cinnamon and sugar and it was delicious! The ambience is chill I don't recall any music but there is dim lighting which is amazing also. Prices were significantly higher than other places around (in the hotel) but they obviously have a different offering.

This is old school steakhouse vibes, with excellent service. Food was top notch, tasty and very elegantly presented. We celebrated our wedding anniversary with lovely service, care and enjoyment. We both had the filet steak, I had wine and husband had martini with blue cheese olive. He had lobster bisque starter and I had tomato salad starter( easily could be shared) we indulged in a super fancy potato that was full of fancy fixings- this was caviar, bacon, truffled cheese sauce, top with gold leaf and micro greens-high roller- we did share this item with plenty for both of us. Tables nearby were just a little loud, and they removed all the booths that were in this area, the seating was by table, chairs were comfortable enough. This was really only 1/2 star less for overall noise level and comfort. I'm glad they have lifted the valet fee for eating local.

Called to make a reservation for Christmas Eve dinner. You do have to put a card down when confirming the reservation. I was happy to be able to dress up for dinner, the inside was lovely and decorated holiday themed. My family was staying at the Gaylord for the Christmas Holiday and this steakhouse looked amazing. It did not disappoint. It is much larger than anticipated, and we were seated by our lovely waiter. I waited two weeks to write this review so I can't remember his name. But he and the other gentleman helping were amazing. He will know who he is, he wore a different name tag also loves the massive pepper grinder, always makes a joke of it. (best part of the night!) Any who, I was very impressed with the food. The appetizer portions are large as well as the sides, so keep that in mind. The fresh bread was unreal, I could eat 5 of them. The true star was the steak, and whipped potatoes. The medium rare steak was cooked to perfection, and I shared it as well as shared a few sides. It was more than enough food! I recommend a started, and then two maybe three sides for the table. Well, depending on how hungry you are. The price is what you would expect for a nice steak house, around $80-100 per person depending on if you get drinks. Overall, great experience and would love to celebrate a holiday here again.

Good steakhouse. Great? In my opinion, no. First the good stuff. The baked potato was pretty good. Heaviest baked potato I've ever had, but also really good. With crème fraiche and caviar, and good flakes, it's decadent, an indulgence, and one of those things you get once in your life. I liked it! Now the bad. The steak and service. It took about 45 minutes from the time I ordered to get the main course, and my first bison steak was well cooked and tough to eat. No pink at all. I haven't had a steak that overcooked since in at least ten years. With how restaurants cook steaks these days, it was a surprise. Now they did provide a second steak, which was to specification, but even that one took a while. The steakhouse was actually not that busy either so it was clearly understaffed. Maybe I caught them on a bad night, but not my type of steakhouse.

This restaurant recently opened at the Gaylord Rockies Hotel. Made my reservations 2 months ahead and glad I did. The experience was excellent from start to finish. They start your table with their in-house baked rolls OH MY YUMMMY! we started with some nice cold drinks and then our entrees and sides. AMAZING MENU AND SERVICE! I ordered the Filet Medium that was cooked perfect with sides of Sweet potato , added a lobster tail but that was really Salty ate it anyways. We were so full but dessert was a perfect. Will certainly return again and Thanks to the wonderful staff.

Still my favorite BBQ in Atlanta, though this is the last one standing. Come for the Brunswick Stew, try everything on the menu. If you're around for Breakfast, you'll feel like you've eaten at your Grandma's

Came here for dinner; started with the house bread & butter, which just melts in your mouth; followed by the steakhouse wedge salad & a bottle of wine. They have a good selection of wine with price points ranging from acceptable to pricey. We shared the 14-ounce wagyu ny steak - might have shrunken while cooking ‍, a side of the crispy sweet potatoes, just scrumptious & an order of the Brussels sprouts. The Brussels sprouts felt as if they had not been trimmed up enough; i.e., too much stem & needed a tad more peeling back. The service: Orange & Scott were stellar. Scott made great suggestions, knew the menu forwards & backwards. Loved the high energy he brings. Orange was attentive, she noticed when water was needed or plates removed. The atmosphere - loud, we were seat by a back door & it was windy outside to the point that the door would occasionally stay open, burr! We'll definitely be back as there are so many other things to try.

We couldn't have had a better dinner last night! Manny took care of us and he was amazing. Every dish we had was so good and their wine room was perfect for our small party. The timing of all our food coming out was great. For a fancy dinner this is a must

Came here for dinner with a friend. He got the filet and I got the bison strip. What was most impressive was the ambience as well as the fantastic service. Koto was very attentive and made it a point to ensure service was to our liking. The steaks were cooked to order and delicious. As far as the food I was incredibly impressed with the lobster Mac and cheese. Especially since I never order this. My friend wanted to share and it was a great choice. We also got the harissa carrots which I though were cooked quite well and brimming with flavor. Definitely recommend Old hickory if you're looking for a quality steakhouse.

Despite this being inside a resort, the food and service were great. Our server Scott was so nice and lively. He gave us some awesome recommendations and none of them disappointed. The whipped potatoes were so fluffy and buttery. The brussel sprouts had a delicious glaze to them and were perfectly cooked. The winner was definitely the lamb. So different from new Zealand lamb, tender and full of flavor. For dessert- the creme brulee was huge, and every bit was so delicious . The Ambiance was pretty casual and it was a nicely maintained restaurant. I definitely recommend giving this place a try.

How far from Gaylord Rockies Resort? Do you take reservations?

Old Hickory is on site at the Gaylord. Reservations really depend on day of the week. Even though we stayed at the Gaylord Rockies we still made a reservation.

The banh mi was a solid 7/10 (good!) even with substituting the pork for tofu. I really liked the sweet potato fries and the sauce options that came with the sandwich, one was curry-ish and the other ketchup-ish, both unique and yummy with the fries and sandwich! Guest Experience Feedback -- Denver Centurion Lounge, Concourse C…read moreI would like to share feedback about an experience my sister and I had at the bar in the Centurion Lounge at Denver International Airport. My intention is not retaliation or revenge. I am sharing this because I believe American Express has a responsibility to ensure that every Card Member is treated with dignity, consistency, and respect. My experience with the bar attendant, Lindsay, was particularly concerning. I felt that I was treated differently and unfairly in a manner that appeared to be related to my accent, language, or background. I am an American citizen who was born in Europe, and I am proud to be an American. Because of this experience, I was left with the impression that I may have been subjected to linguistic and/or racial discrimination. I recognize that I cannot know another person's intent, but the way the interaction occurred made me feel singled out and unwelcome. During our visit, my sister and I were apparently restricted to a very limited number of drinks over a period of hours, without what I understood to be a clear or consistently communicated explanation. Later, after a male bartender, Jessie, served me during the last call before the bar closed, Lindsay followed me to my table and removed the drink that I had in my possession while I was tasteful savoring every drop of the exquisite ambiance in my slow nocturnal travel after a long day driving and morning flight with consecutive another overnight flight. I found this interaction humiliating and inappropriate. I want to make an important distinction: Jessie provided excellent service. He was professional, courteous, and respectful. In my opinion, Jessie is a top-of-the-line bartender and deserves recognition for his professionalism and bartending skills. His service demonstrated exactly the type of hospitality I would expect from an American Express Centurion Lounge. After I raised the issue with Jessie and with the lounge supervisor just asking what is her name due to missing name tag, Lindsay subsequently came to my table and handed me a piece of paper apparently intended to make sure I knew how to spell her name correctly. Regardless of her intention, the way this was handled felt unnecessarily confrontational and added to an already uncomfortable experience. My recommendation to American Express I am not asking for revenge or punishment. I would instead encourage American Express to review this interaction and consider additional training for lounge staff regarding: Consistent and transparent communication of alcohol-service policies. Equal treatment of guests regardless of accent, nationality, ethnicity, or language. Appropriate ways to address a guest when service is being restricted or a drink needs to be removed. De-escalation and respectful communication when a guest raises a service concern. Maintaining the high level of professionalism demonstrated by employees such as Jessie. The Centurion Lounge represents the American Express brand, and I hope that future guests--regardless of where they were born or how they speak English--will feel equally respected and welcome. I am providing this feedback in good faith and with the hope that it can be used constructively to improve the guest experience. Revenge is not my objective; respectful treatment and better service are.

So after my husband ordered a $23 sandwich and a beer, I bought a burrito to go from the adjoined restaurant. When I came back over, the host stared at me but said nothing. I sat down and watched the host go talk to the server before the server came over and said they did not allow "outside food" due to being a health code violation. So I sat with my wrapped burrito while my husband ate lunch. After seeing staff from the adjoining restaurant go into the kitchen next to where we were sitting, I asked the server about it. He informed me that both restaurants had the same owner/management. So I asked why there was an issue with bringing my wrapped food over and he snarkily replied, "Are you kidding me?" And then said, "I don't make the rules; I just enforce them." He literally could not explain what the violation was and offered no one else (I.e. a manager) to help answer the question. On the food side, the Italian Hoagie was just okay so I would skip Bar Dough for a meal and go to the Mexican spot next door because the burrito was (eventually) delicious. Staff at Mister Oso was friendly as well!
