Apple strudel
Su S.

Best local polish bakery in greenpoint! Each cake and cookies are very classic and very fabulously done. If this is your first time visit I recommend the carrot cake and apple strudel. Of course the poppy seeds rolls are amazing. And here is why--- Carrot cakes are so moist, good amounts of carrot balanced well with roasted walnut and a layer of chocolate ganache frosting on top. Apple strudel has excellent apple chucks and apple FLAVORS which is hard to get. Also the fun part for eating apple strudel is that you can actually taste each ingredient individually. Each bite you get some apple and some crumbles! Try to pair it with some vanilla ice cream! Cookies also have excellent texture soft moist and melt in your mouth. You can tell this bakery does not take any short cuts. They keep everything fresh and all ingredients up to the high standards. Best bakery is not for going viral but instead is where you trust their food! A 10 out of 10 solid bakery. Very proud for them, you must come by and try.

3.5 stars I came to…read moreFarmer in the Deli cause of the hype it has on social media for thier viral chopped sandwhiches. I arrived and of course thier was a line. I waited for about 45 minutes, while waiting I picked up my chips and a white peach ginger ale. I also talked to the girl in front and she explained that you can get your sandwhich on a hero or roll. I ordered a chopped honey turkey with onions, pickles, lettuce and mayo. The guy who made my sandwich was soo friendly and patient. I just put my trust in him to hook it up lol. He also asked if I wanted to add the chips and I did. Overall my sandwhich was better the next day after it firmed up. The flavor was good but the texture was soft, mushy and just not what I want in a turkey sandwhich. It ran me about 12.00 and it was worth the experience.

The original name was called laurose and tuna salad chopping has been happening for over four decades. My fort green family really know what it is. My cousin and I stopped by yesterday and picked up a couple of heroes. I had to get my beef salami and 3 pepper colby jack cheese, extra mayo, lettuce, tomatoes and pickles, on a whole wheat hero (10.99) . Much love to a family staple for years. Definitely a place for you to pick up a sandwich that won't break the bank.

Brooklyn stays undefeated. Went to David's Brisket House -- a Jewish deli run by Yemeni Muslims in…read morethe middle of an Afro-Caribbean neighborhood. If that's not the most Brooklyn thing ever, I don't know what is. Same sandwiches, different blessing. Everybody says order the pastrami, so I listened like a grown man should. Pastrami on rye with spicy mustard absolutely slapped. Smoky, juicy, perfectly stacked, and messy enough to ruin your shirt with honor. Then came the beef brisket on rye with a cup of au jus for dipping... and brother, that dip should be studied by scientists. Pure perfection. Washed everything down with a Dr. Brown's root beer like it was 1957. No fake trendy nonsense. No deconstructed sandwiches. Just old-school deli greatness that punches you directly in the soul. Great food doesn't care where you come from -- it just brings everybody to the same table. That's New York. That's Brooklyn.

I…read morefirst heard of this place featured on Diners Drive ins and Dives, the place looked super old school and a classic sandwich shop, more recently I heard of this place from George Motz talking about the roast pork sandwich. I went with two friends so were able to try three different sandwiches and to be honest, they were all just alright. The food: Roast Pork Special- Fried Eggplant, Provolone, Broccoli Rob- The texture of the pork came off a bit dry, the eggplant was good but kinda gets lost in the sandwich so if I literally had it on it's own I would have appreciated it more but who eats fried eggplant by itself? The rob was nice it added a nice crunch but didn't offer that much flavor. Giuseppe Special- Eggplant parm, meatballs, melted mozzarella. I couldn't get over how soggy the bread was. It was like wet paper towel to me. Soggy bread and everything kinda tasting the same made it underwhelming. Nicky Special- It just tasted like salad in between bread. There was so much veg, that was the main thing I remember in that sandwich.
