We had breakfast here - full buffet. The options were good and mostly fresh (sometimes pastries were a bit stale, maybe our late morning breakfast). Cereal bar, porridge station, dumplings, pastries. There were 4 hot items: fried rice, bacon, potatoes, waffles/pancakes. There's also an omelette station. Overall pretty decent, food tasted pretty average, but good selection. Service was net neutral for us. One day we had a great server who was very attentive, and the next day we had someone who didn't seem like they wanted to be there. Solid selection of breakfast foods, but limited on fruit and we pulled a peach that had mold on it .... When we told one of the servers he just said okay and didn't grab the rest of the peaches or anything ... that was off putting and why they only get a 4. So your onsite and you want a buffet, here is where you want to go... maybe for the hefty amount of $30/adult and $16/kid you may want to try other options, let me break down everything they have to offer Buffets are great when done right, this place is a pass, I do not recommend you eat here unless your going thru 2 plate minimum with the party that goes with you. If your kids eat like canaries and your spouse this is not the place for you haha. Why are the eggs so runny, scrambled eggs are more wet then the cereal my kids have on a daily basis, why so runny? selection of breakfast goods, here is the plus in my book, omelette station is where everything you want is, add, bell peppers, mushrooms, peppercini's, bacon, sausage, etc and what kind of cheese, properly made and delicious. The waffles precut in 4 portions, piping hot, premade not self made (have one see if you like it), my kids one said it was to dense (11yr old) the other said it tasted funny (6yr old), sampled I thought it was fine, slightly dense outside and softer towards the middle, slap some butter then syrup softened it up real quick. cereal options - fruit loops, fruity pebbles, cherrios, honey bunches of oats, I believe 2 others were out there but I passed on all of these options. Best breakfast buffet I've had! They had so many options, and all of the food was great! I made sure I tried some of everything. Sticky buns: Show stopper, a MUST HAVE. I had like 3 of these my first day there, and had no regrets! They're warm and have just the right amount of cinnamon. I can't even find the right words to describe this heavenly dish. French toast: Perfectly cooked, another must try. Waffles: Were a little cold and not crispy at all. I didn't even finish the quarter piece I took. Scrambled eggs: Great! Bacon: Crispy, soft, you can have your pick! Smoked salmon: It was really good the first day, but didn't seem fresh the second time in. Omelette bar: I don't think its possible to go wrong with a build your own omelette place that has about 15 topping options! Pasties: The cheese danish was good, buy my favorite was one that had a sweet filling and powdered sugar on the top. Probably had a hint of cinnamon too. I couldn't stop having them. Located on the bottom floor of the main resort building, the view is fantastic! We came here because we had a breakfast voucher for the breakfast buffet. The buffet is from 7AM - 11AM so you have plenty of time to fill up before heading to the slopes or whatever big activity you have planned for the day. The hosting staff, the lady and gentlemen were wonderful and made our dining experience special. I didn't get their names but it was the morning of 10/25. I've enjoyed many breakfast meals over the years at Cascades. On September 10, 2022, many of our wedding guests, as well as myself, enjoyed a delicious and leisurely buffet breakfast. The array of selections, quality and quantity of food was excellent. In addition, the servers are so friendly and attentive. This review is for the breakfast buffet only, but...oh, my, what a buffet. We've done many a breakfast buffet over the years, but Cascades had potentially the best we've experienced. It's not huge by any means, but had the kind of extras that make it a winner. Example: Squaw Creek is a family-friendly resort, and instead of simply providing the 3 or 4 cold cereals you typically see -- they had 9. But don't be deceived -- this is not Golden Corral. The baker/pastry chef was a maniac -- such a great variety of breads, pastries, etc. The omelets and other made-to-order eggs were excellent, there were two kinds of dumplings, excellent waffles and French toast, oatmeal -- you get the idea. Everything just seemed to have a little extra touch to it. Had to force myself to stop. Honestly, if I was only doing one in-house meal at Squaw Creek -- it might be here (and that's not a knock on the others). Definitely worth a visit. read more

While we stayed at Squaw Creek, we were lucky enough to have a breakfast package that allowed us a morning meal at Cascades each day. We were able to enjoy made-to-order omelettes, fresh fruit, pastries, yogurts, cereal, granola, eggs, bacon, and a variety of other breakfast foods as part of a package. Because it was included in our cost, the breakfast was totally worth it, lasting until 11AM each day. Unless we were skiing, we would go around 10:30, and weren't generally hungry again until dinner time! The service was wonderful, and our waiter remembered us each day, proactively bringing us drinks and asking about our stay. The views of the mountain are unbelievable, and you can watch skiers reach the bottom and take the lift back up the mountain as you eat. If we hadn't had the breakfast package, the meal would have cost us $60 ($50+ $10 tip) for two people each day, which is a LOT more than is reasonable for what you're getting. While the food is great, I'd be hard pressed to pay that for a daily breakfast... that said, if you can get the package, go for it!!! It's super convenient and the selection is great. read more

Delicious breakfast buffet to send us off from our Tahoe weekend. Originally advertised as the buffet at the Six Peaks Grille, it's just a short stairway downstairs to the Cascades restaurant (though it doesn't open as a regular restaurant, nor is it listed as one of the dining options on the Resort at Squaw Creek website). Anyway, as it is Easter Sunday, a special buffet was being offered in another area of the resort. No wait to get a table at Cascades. Made to order omelet station, hot area with pancakes, french toast, roast potatoes, and the biggest mound of sausages and crispy, crispy bacon I've ever seen. Another large table of fruits galore, yogurt, cereal, even smoked salmon. And then yet another table of buns, toast and bagels. Stuffed ourselves silly before our long drive home. Great way to start a day, and to end a mini-vacation. Service was good. Coffee and beverages offered before we even sat down. Dishes cleared as soon as we emptied them. NOTE - they add 18% gratuity to the bill, so make sure you read it before adding on additional tip. read more

Then you get up to put together -a simple green salad with field greens, cakes, radish and fennel shavings, croutons and 3 dressings. -there's also a chef's choice of soup(today's was minestrone. Not bad but the celery and carrots felt like freeze dried and rehydrated -Then you select from a decent assortment of desserts. (Strawberry filled eclairs, colorful layered cake, Apple squares, chocolate dipped strawberries, and a tiny dessert of a thin chocolate thimble filled with custard and topped with a raspberry, etc) -this all came with dinner buns and salt sprinkled butter , and coffee and tea. We chose to come to this buffet for Christmas dinner. The food was good, a large selection, not much for a vegetarian to pick from which was a tad disappointing. The desert table was filled with ice cream, cookies, cakes, pies, and it was pretty good! My favorite was the salmon and the dinner rolls. They had a lot of meat and seafood dishes along with a nice salad bar and a kids bar filled with french fries, mac and cheese and chicken fingers. The staff was decent, not extremely polite.....We were not impressed when we got the bill and the waitress told us the tip was included but we can giver her more because she has to split it with the rest of the staff. First off, we are good tippers if we think you deserve it, but if you have to mention to give you more money, then something is off. Best thing about this place was the view. This was our 2nd time here on our annual Thanksgiving trip. The hostess was wonderful, but the waitress was awful. She needs to write stuff down or something, because she just kept forgetting everything we asked for and then bringing stuff we didn't ask for instead. The coffee was not good and the buffet is $24 and the only thing I liked was the waffle. It was amazing, but not worth $24. The only reason we keep coming back is it is conveniently located inside the Resort at Squaw Creek where we stay and with the Groupon you get a daily $25 dining credit. We always end up having to wait about 15-45 minutes for a table depending on the time of morning. It's a bonus if you get seated near the window. The view is beautiful. read more

Waffles and pancakes tasted like they'd been under the heat lamp for a week and my wife's omelet had a hair in it.
