Had some time to kill and wanted a delicious bagel sandwhich so stopped into this chain. I had a basic breakfast bagel with sausage, egg and cheese on a jalapeno cheddar bagel. It was tasty. Nothing spectacular but still good. The egg part is kinda weird and tastes a bit spongy and fake but the deliciousness of the jalapeno cheddar bagel made up for it. I also tried a white chocolate mocha and got the big one because the girl at the counter said it has 4 shots of espresso in it. I'm not sure about that because it did not give me that much of a buzz. Who called these the best bagels in Oklahoma and who said they were old school? When you do a hand rolled, boiled bagel, the outer shell has a glossy, egg shell texture. In this case, the outer shell of the bagel is soft. The flavor is okay but if you take a plain bagel and just eat it as is, it doesn't have that specific flavor that a true NY bagel has. Toppings are sparse. There is nothing wrong with these bagels. They beat buying them at a grocery store or Dunkin Donuts. If you are in OKC and want a bagel, they will suffice. I wouldn't declare these the best in Oklahoma. There are a couple of places in Tulsa that are better. I would actually drive for that bagel. read more

I've always loved Bagel Cafe. It's long been a favorite of my family and friends. However, my experience today was beyond disappointing. Not only was my entire order incorrect (ordered 5 bagels), but my food was inedible because the bagels were burned so bad. I didn't even want my bagel toasted to begin with! See attached pictures. The staff at the time were incredibly young and incompetent. I could barely understand the boy who answered the phone. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone with the current staff. When I went to pick up my order, there was a customer yelling at one of employees for messing up his order. Another lady complained that she had been waiting on a bagel for 1 for over 30 minutes. Decals in the floor ensure people will keep their distance instead of breathing down your neck, because that crap STILL happen in December during a pandemic. I couldn't bring myself to finish it, and for me, that says a lot. The bagel was just ok. I like bagels with a nice crispness on the outside and fluffy on the inside. My bagel was all fluffy, almost mushy. The egg portion was gross. It was worse than mushy, it disintegrated in my mouth, and NOT in a good way. It really threw me off. I went to college in NYC and lived on the Upper West Side around corner from the original 24-hour H&H and a big Zabar's. Old School is as close as you can get to these classics in OKC (for that matter, outside of NYC). Don't bother going elsewhere. I had the pleasure of meeting the owner recently outside the shop, and he shared his family's close ties to NYC which led to the recognition OKC needed a really good bagel place. Went today for a sooner club and an old smokey togo. Asked for no tomato on my sooner club. Shouldn't be too big an issue right? I get home and it has no lettuce and quite a few tomatoes. Also, it has no bacon on it. It's a club. Bacon is one of the main ingredients in a club! Wife opens up her old smokey and it has maybe and I say maybe a teaspoon of cream cheese. Why does your computer system demand a tip when you can't get an order correct. Too Insure Proper Service. That's what tip stands for. Definitely didn't get that. 23rd location is still great. Over the last year, the service at this location and quality of product has been abysmal. Today, I went in for a Bricktown that I frequently order and got fatty, slimey, awful meat.
