Sadly, the overall visit was very disappointing. House salad was great, Sicilian garlic dip was great. Beef spiedini tasted charred and was overcooked enough to be dry. The amogio tasted imbalanced and was finished with a soggy wad of parsley. My side of Capelli D'Angelo was actually great. My wife's Chicken Spiedini Garozzo was also overcooked. The 2 end pieces were dry and crusty. Before tonight I've never had a bad meal at Garozzo's. We know the recipes are great. The execution was the problem. To make matters much worse, our waitress was not good. Would disappear for a 10+ minutes at a time. We saw the neighboring table's waiter over twice as often. She started off our visit by bluntly interrupting my wife while she was talking to me. She took away my Old Fashioned without confirming I was done. I wasn't. Usually the service and the food are fantastic, so tonight was a surprise and a disappointment.

You may go back and forth in your mind on what you want. Look at the pictures to this review. My friends and I each enjoyed our food! If you can't handle spice don't worry about the Chicken Vincenzo being too spicy. To me was more on the sweeter side. My friends had the Chicken Spiedini (Samantha) and Eggplant Parmagiano. I will definitely go back and order different dishes! The ambiance is nice.

Laura, the owner, greeted us as soon as we walked in and was probably the sweetest and most welcoming person we've met in Kansas City. She immediately made us feel at home. We started with the meatballs and burrata, both of which were delicious. The meatballs were especially well seasoned. My wife had the bolognese and absolutely loved it, and she really appreciated having gluten-free options available. I had the cacio e pepe, and the pasta was cooked perfectly. All in all, the food, service, and ambiance were outstanding. One of our favorite meals of the trip. Highly recommend for both locals and visitors alike.

Great upscale Italian atmosphere without making you feel like you need to pronounce every menu item with an accent. The menu has a nice variety, and our waiter was fantastic. He took the time to explain the dishes and even gave us a heads-up on which items took longer to prepare. I always appreciate the honesty--nothing worse than wondering if your entrée is being handcrafted by Italian grandmas in the back. The drinks were delicious and surprisingly reasonably priced. We did find out they have a happy hour at the bar...right after we missed it. Rookie mistake on our part! The lasagna absolutely stole the show. Rich, flavorful, cheesy, and worth every bite. If you're on the fence, order it. The appetizer was tasty but felt a little small for the price, so I'd probably save room (and money) for more pasta instead. Overall, I'd definitely come back to work my way through the menu. Next time I'll aim for happy hour, order another pasta dish, and try not to let the lasagna set unrealistic expectations for everything else.

It always feels like a special night out. Ashley is usually our server, and she's an absolute gem. She offers thoughtful recommendations, knows the menu inside and out, and provides the kind of warm, amazing service that keeps us coming back. The food is consistently outstanding. On this visit we shared the ceviche, the tagliatelle Bolognese, and the Campo Lindo chicken breast. It was all delicious. We love that the menu is always being updated, but they continue to offer some of our favorites. The ambiance is just as memorable as the food. Whether you choose the oyster bar, the cocktail bar, or the dining room, the experience always feels elevated. They also have a great private dining room. We recently celebrated a friend's birthday there, and it was the perfect setting. Farina continues to deliver one of the best dining experiences in Kansas City. From the exceptional food and thoughtful service to the inviting atmosphere, it's a restaurant we find ourselves returning to again and again. Highly recommend for date night or any special occasion.

It's justifiably difficult to get a booking, as befits the best restaurant in Kansas City. Beautiful dishes in a great atmosphere. Start with the ambiance: it's usually busy in an enjoyable uplifting way. People watching is at a peak here as smart diners move between elegant and tasteful furniture while friendly, professional (and invariably handsome) wait staff glide through it all. If you recognize and appreciate good Italian design, this place will delight you before you've even glanced at the menu. Talking of the menu - it's a revolving tableau of Italian inspired deliciousness that will cause you to pause after each first bite - and look up at your dinner companion with a smile that says "wow"! Last night I had a lobster roll that defied gravity in its lightness. And the taste and texture was just perfect - what an appetizer! It was a moderate eating evening so I only had the pasta. A Carbonara of homemade thick noodle pasta with a deeply seductive cream sauce base. Paired both with a selection from the other great feature of Farina, its wine list. My selection was a minerally dry sparkling rose (I know, but trust me!) from the slopes of Etna. The wine selection is itself a wonderful experience - I'd recommend sticking with the Italian options - of which there are many, and they are quality examples some of which are rare finds in America. When you add great service and - as always - a brief check in from one of the two owners (he chef, she sommelier) you can round out a top level dining experience right here in KCMO. One to rival any other eatery in much bigger markets - or even Italy itself.

We really enjoyed our lunch here the other day. We had always heard how great the fried chicken is,…read moreso we went for the Tuesday lunch special (they do have fried chicken for dinner every evening too). The fried chicken is very good. Well seasoned and not greasy. The lunch came with 3 pieces of chicken, a scoop of green beans (has bacon and onion in it fyi) and a scoop of their delicious mashed potatoes with white creamy gravy (no pepper, more cheesy, so good). I do wish they gave you a bit more of the sides, but it was a good amount for the $ at lunch. Appreciate the bread and butter as you wait for the meal. Our server and everyone we interacted with were so nice. The space is very cozy and comfortable. We definitely plan to go back for dinner soon, as we hadn't been here for many years?

We shared a wedge salad before out entrees arrived. The salads are huge, sharing is definitely the correct path. For dinner i selected to Lemony chicken Picata. It was light and flavorful. The pasta was a great accent to the chicken and the citrus was the dominant flavor, in the best way! My friend loved the gnocchi. The potato Dumplings were large and fluffy. Dessert was exquisite. We shared a huge piece of the Berry Cream Torte.
