I was introduced to these gentlemen by a friend of mine who swore that they were the best !... So I tried them out about 15 years ago.... and I should say have NEVER been disappointed by them ! Not once..!! and thats saying a lot for a car mechanic..!! Always accommodating with my busy schedule they are always prompt with the repair and Never make excuses... VERY good Customer Service !! I couldn't wait to get my Volvo XC70 off the Dealer warranty and took it to Sami ever since.... The guys at OTG have maintained it to better then dealer standards and with the lowest costs and Best Value.... !! We Needing another car and so we discussed it with Sami... ( a true gentleman) and he went off and looked for a car based on what we wanted... he told us to come by and take a look at it and so we bought a BMW from him at a great price and have been happy with that too. Sami has maintained our cars with great care and we couldn't be happier.... We have recommended Sami to other friends and family and they all say the same thing about him ..... Every one seems to praise his price/ value and most of all honesty about whats wrong and what it may cost.... So its not just my impression. He even recommends sometimes to not to fix small things that would be inconsequential to the repair or working of the car and being upfront about all things is a great plus and we have never been surprised by anything so far..... .... The thing we consumers count on most about the garages we take our cars to is that we can TRUST them. Let's face it, most of us have no idea what the mechanics are doing to our cars when we take them in with a problem. We have no idea what happens behind the service garage door. The thing that distinguishes Old Tyme Garage, in my mind, is that I can trust them to provide the right, most economical solution to my car problem. We have also bought several used cars from Old Tyme and had great success with them. But here's the thing that really makes them stand out as honorable business people. One of the used cars we bought from them once had a problem with consuming too much oil. We brought the car in a few times and solving the problem seemed elusive. it didn't take Old Tyme long to realize that in this case, the car they had sold us was flawed, and they immediately rectified the situation by taking the car back and getting us another one -- the same model but in even better condition than the one before. Absolutely outstanding does not even describe how pleased I am with their work and this company. I drive a Toyota which I took to Wellesley Toyota for an oil change, which was a big mistake. Upon arriving at Wellesley Toyota, it took me forever to get checked in, and then I sat in the waiting room for 2 plus hours for nothing to end up getting accomplished. The mechanic ended up approaching me after 2 hours with a list of work that my car needed, which did not please me. I then took my car to Old Time Garage where they looked at the list I was given and told me I never needed any of that work done. They got me right in immediately and took care of me. The men that work there are very helpful and kind, and all their mechanics are hardworking and very friendly. After my experience there, I will never go back to Wellesley Toyota nor do I recommend that place for service. It is rare to buy a car from the first dealer that you drive by. Old Time Garage has a wide selection of vehicles and they had the Mini Cooper that I always wanted- with low miles! They also have have reasonable prices and are willing to work with you. As far as maintenance is concerned, I haven't gone anywhere else to have my car serviced and maintained because Old Time Garage has been nothing but reliable. The service is extremely timely and they are willing to work with you if you need to leave your car overnight. On a personal level, the owner and staff at Old Time Garage truly care about the satisfaction of their clients as well as finding a vehicle that fits their needs. They are caring and compassionate and always do their best to solve any issue as quickly as possible. After researching multiple dealers and online car brokers I contacted Old Time Garage and spoke with owner Sam Hurwitz. I told him what type of vehicle I wanted (2016 Acura RDX), approximate mileage I expected, and finally what price I could afford. The next day Sam provided me a list of 8 RDXs available and we discussed the options for each one. He helped me select the perfect 2016 RDX that looked in showroom condition. He then had his highly trained mechanics inspect and detail the car prior to my pick up. Three weeks after purchase I detected a slight noise when driving and Sam said bring it right in and provided me a loaner car for the day. It turned out the noise was caused by the tires. We're from Michigan, and I'm really cynical about anybody fixing my car save my own mechanic back home. We broke down on the highway, and were directed to Old Time Garage. I had prayed for God for His care, and He really blessed us! Immediately felt like I could trust them, and they repaired the car while we went on with our plans to visit Downtown Boston. Called me twice, first with letting me know what was wrong/estimate, then to let me know it was finished. We drove all the way home with zero problems! Incredibly courteous, all around tremendous experience (unlike our encounters downtown - these guys should be hired as ambassadors for the city)! I have a 2007 VW Rabbit that I brought in because of a fan noise. Initially the problem was not completely resolved and I was a bit upset. I was concerned I had wasted my money, and still had a car problem. After speaking with a trusted Sam supporter, she advised me to speak with Sam, "he is a fair guy". So I did, and she was right, he is a fair guy and he resolved my problem in a very fair and efficient manner. In the end... Sam is stand-up guy, and has well deserved reputation. I would hope to earn the same reputation myself someday. My father used to be an industrial caterer (catering truck driver) for OTG. For, I'd say, over a decade, my dad and I would go to the Newton location where Sammy, Billy, Dick & the rest of the guys would be working on cars non-stop, rain or shine. There wasn't a problem that these guys couldn't handle. Honestly, good or bad news with what may be wrong with a vehicle. They'd let you know if there was a problem that they couldn't handle or if it was going to be costly. They even worked on a few of my family members cars. I had a problem with my car on the way to work this morning. It was making an awful sound as I was driving down the highway, and I was lucky enough to get off and find this place. When I pulled in I was agitated because I was late for work and there was something wrong with my car, but the mechanic (I think his name was Phil) kindly said he would take a look at it for me. He put my car up on the lift and was able to figure out/fix the problem within minutes (I had something in my brake). I moved to Boston a year ago, but have been driving back to central MA to my old garage that I had been going to for the past 8 years. I think I may start going here. read more

I needed to know whether my very old car could survive a 1000 mile trip. They could have recommended some repairs but instead told me it wasn't worth sinking money into the car. I was about to leave when I noticed some used cars I might like. They didn't suggest I look at their cars; it was totally my idea. Cory Clement showed me the cars and took me on a test drive. I didn't like any of the cars but he and Sam went above and beyond to locate the car I wanted. I recently purchased an '03 Toyota Corolla LE with a 5-spd. manual from OTG in Newton. Even though I am 17 and was unaccompanied when I went to OTG, Sam was very helpful and eager to put me in a good car. Thanks to him, I now have a fun, fuel efficient, spunky little Corolla that I wouldn't give for the world (granted, I would five it if I had to chose between that and my '74 Fender Duo-Sonic). Great Peoole. My tire popped from a pot hole and found the closest machanic I was around (Old Time Garage). These guys were closed but I asked for help and 3 gentleman inside helped me out with my tire when they were closed and it was puring out. They really helped me when I needed help the most (or wait for AAA for 3 hours at 7pm) and the best thing is that not only did they fix my tire they didn't accept any cash from me. Very impressed. Stopped by the garage today in a panic and without an appointment. I was on my way to take my 16 yr old for his road test when the brake light came on in our 1997 Land Cruiser (190,000 miles). 5 minutes and $5 later, the light was off. Sadly he wasn't able to take the test anyway as the emergency brake didn't pass the inspectors test. So tomorrow I'll be making an appointment at Old Time Garage. read more

They were getting ready to close but took me in anyway, replaced my tire in under 10 minutes, and got me back on the road--and charged me a nominal fee for taking care of me in no time flat--I'm very grateful!
