A tradition of excellence continues !!!! I've been a customer of Auto Systems since approximately 2007. This is an excellent place to take your car or truck that is in need of repair. I've owned four Subaru wagons over the years and had 1,000's of dollars worth of repair work done at this shop. I should've written this long ago. I'm here to tell you that these people really know their stuff and provide a great service for those in need of auto repair. They're completely honest and they have the tenacity to figure out tough fixes. They basically treat you as if you were part of their family. Whenever I go there, I meet people that have been going for a long time too and see the same thoughts. My brakes were making so much noise you could hear me coming from a mile away, and I'm not exaggerating. I kept putting off getting my brakes done because I just don't lie going to car garages. My sister recommended Auto Systems, saying that the owner is incredibly nice and prices are beyond fair. I dropped off my car, spoke with the owner, who showed me the part that may need to be replaced because I had waited too long to change my brakes (there was zero judgment on his part, which I greatly appreciated). A few hours later, he called, and it turned out all he needed to do was a simple break change, no extra part change needed :) I highly recommend them. My car was making a growling and rattling noise. Came in on a Saturday around 11 am with no appointment. They called an hour later to let me know what was wrong and how much it would cost. I ended up here because of a mystery flat tire on the way to work. I am more than capable of changing a tire but in work clothes, rain, and a flat spare I was not about to change it myself, plus Hess across the street had a broken air compressor.....awesome. I pulled my crippled car into their lot and was greated right away and helped very quickly. They were VERY fast and efficient taking off my bad tire, finding & taking out a nail, fixing the hole and getting me on my way with record speed. AND they proactively pointed out a minor issue they noticed on my brakes that should be checked in the future. Every mechanic that walked by said good morning and they seem like a happy crew there. The amount they charged me was SUPER low and more than reasonable for the effort & work. I will be going back to see these guys for car repairs again. Most repair shops love to take advantage of people in my position and charge crazy rates but this place seems honest. Highly recommend! read more

Need to give a shout out to this place. It was a long time ago, but I had an exhaust leak on my Infiniti and these guys were able to fix it (most shops can't weld, apparently), but not only that, they got it done on a Saturday without an appointment. The fix was affordable and they were totally honest and didn't try and upsell me. It looks a little scary from the outside, but the guy made me feel comfortable and got it done quickly. I stumbled upon this shop several months ago when I had what I thought was a major muffler problem. The owner, Guillermo, checked out the problem, showed me what was wrong and gave me an estimate. At first I thought the guy was crazy; only $85 to repair a muffler? Other places, like Midas in Watertown, told me that I had to replace the entire muffler system and it would cost nearly $400! Guillermo showed me that there was only a small hole near the end of the exhaust pipe, and it was otherwise in excellent condition. Auto Systems did the repair quickly and efficiently, and they only charged me a fraction of the cost quoted by other places. My car is in perfect shape now, thanks to Auto Systems!! Auto Systems is unquestionably the best and most economical garage that I've ever used (and I've been to a wide range over nearly 25 years). Guillermo is a friendly, very knowledgeable, and helpful owner and mechanic. He always has time to take my car, he has been able to fix issues that other mechanics haven't, and he and his mechanics fix the both problems quickly and inexpensively. Even if my car breaks down somewhere (not close), I'll have AAA tow it to his garage, he is that good. By the way, I'm female, and I feel that it is harder to find a trustworthy auto shop as a woman. It is a plus to consider how well he treats female customers. Everyone in my family takes their car to see him, despite the fact his garage is two+ towns away. By the way, his garage is on the corner of a street, so it is easy to miss. You can approach from the Brandeis side, come down Vernon Street, and it will be directly on your right as you emerge onto Prospect. read more

Great shop with friendly, knowledgeable people and dependable service. So far I've had oil changes done here, replaced brake pads/rotors, and will definitely come back for any other issues. The service was always fast (I either waited for less than an hour, or left the car for a couple of hours and picked it up same day), they gave a great price, and were straightforward about what needed to be done. had a wonderful Saturday morning there "working" with Molina on my spoiler installation. I quoted in several shops before deciding to go Auto System because they offered the lowest price $75 (compared to Shell on main st $80, Perfection on Pleasant st in Watertown $100 and Paul's on Charles st $120). Molina is a very good guy, warm and fun. The whole installing process was enjoyable as I offered my suggestions (learned from YouTube) and we together finished the project. Molina also helped polish some scratches on the rear left side bumper $25, great job!! lastly, the young apprentice was quiet but worked on my car like his own when polishing the scratches. Will definitely recommend to all my friends!! read more

These guys have been my mechanics for at least 8 years. I buy second hand cars - don't want to have a car payment and can carry lower insurance with these old cars. So when I bring my car in, there is always a calculation - how long are you going to keep this car, how long is this car going to last - and that helps decide the way the car should be repaired. So rather than trying to milk a problem for the most money, they help you take the most logical approach. Think about an exhaust system - one part goes bad and some are getting worn. A newer car, you'd replace the whole thing. An old car, you fix what has to be fixed now. Despite the fact that they "leave money on the table",. their approach seems to make them successful because they are always busy. read more

Words can't express the gratitude I have for Guillermo. He fixed a noisy exhaust in my Scion xA for a mere fraction of what the f***ing Toyota Scion dealer would've charged. I went to Prime Motor Group in W. Roxbury for just an oil change - with a coupon of course. While I was there, I inquired about fixing that noisy exhaust problem. They came back with their "repair estimate" in writing - get this - $234.25!! They will replace a donut gasket, some spring bolts, and springs - all for only $234.25?!! C'mon give me a f***ing break. Rip-off bastards! A brand new muffler assembly would probably cost that much or even less! I politely declined of course. Then I read about all the positive reviews about Guillermo in Yelp and decided to give him a shot. This morning, I went over to his shop. He hoisted my car to inspect the exhaust and said only the gasket and a rusted bolt need replacement. He recommended I get the part and he'll install it. So I drove over to Advanced Auto Parts down the street and purchased a replacement gasket for only $10. Guillermo replaced it and a rusted bolt in a very short time and charged me only $40!! Total: $50 - sure beats shelling out over $200. No more noise, and no more rattling - problem fixed. Guillermo is the most honest mechanic I met. I know where my cars are getting fixed from now on. Lesson learned - never ever go to a dealer to get your car repaired...except an oil change with a coupon special. :) read more
