Yummy baked goods. I ordered an oat milk latte, I was asking for an additional shot of espresso, but the cashier clarified if I want an extra shot since the latte has a long shot already. We stopped in here for some breakfast since we got vouchers from our hotel. I didn't see many vegan options so I grabbed a baguette and a cappuccino with soy milk. The baguette was so fresh and it was a perfect dipper for the cappuccino! We ended up stopping by a local shop and picking up some jam (since I didn't see the option for any in the bakery) and it was deliciously paired with the fresh bread when we got back to our room. We came back the next morning for some more coffee and another fresh baguette to take home. If we would have had more time in the city, a sandwich would have been great for lunch. Amazing danishes! We tried the blueberry and raspberry cheese versions which had tons of creamy filling, juicy fruit topping, and tender pastry. We also tried their breakfast burritos which came with an omelette, pico, cheese, and potato strands- pretty solid but it was quite small for the size and had too much tortilla. Another one of those places that I have frequented for years... a review that is long overdue since they've been one of the most consistent places in all Key West. DISCOVERY Years ago... I frequented another bakery to buy breads but those breads included insane prices; amazing breads but those prices were a hurt on the wallet. Then this lady shopping in the adjacent Restaurant Store told me to try Old Town Bakery down the street. We graciously gave it a shot... We thought we'd end up buying a couple different types of bread loaves to make sandwiches at the house, but the baked goods, sandwiches and cheese were tempting and their wasn't too much in the way of loaves of bread... so, that first visit had us returning to the house with NO LOAFS OF BREAD; instead we ended up with a whole variety of goodies including sandwiches, danishes, palmiers, croissants and of course a couple brownies for the kids. RETURNING We had a routine of riding our bicycles around town but always start off with Coffee and breakfast/lunch from one of the local coffee shops (Cuban Coffee Queen or Sandys Cafe) but these sandwiches from Old Town Bakery are way too good to pass up and ended up becoming our standard stop; pick up our favorite sandwiches and bike over to one of our favorite parks to enjoy our meal before biking... THE PLACE The building is over a hundred years old that once upon a time was a Grocery store (until the late 70s) and the owners of Old Town Bakery converted the place into the Bakery (maybe 10 years ago). The inside is cute and cluttered but in a good way (not overdone that it's hard to find what you want). And the staff (especially the owner), are all so friendly and have that laid-back appeal that most people expect of Key West. OUR GO TO ITEMS Of course the breakfast sandwiches are quite good but the regular lunch sandwiches are just amazing so I normally got those for breakfast too. My favorite is the VEGETARIAN SANDWICH but it MUST be on a Baguette. The sandwich includes fresh mozzarella, spinach and sundried tomato pesto spread. Also, really good is the VEGAN SANDWICH and it too, MUST be on a Baguette (hummus, spinach, tomato, sprouts and a little red onion). Also great are the CURRIED CHICKEN SALAD (which I like as a wrap) and the T B & J (turkey, bacon and onion jam with some other fixings). The croissants are great, especially the chocolate ones and the ham/cheese is really hearty. The regular brownie is good but the O.M.G. Brownie is the ultimate treat for any sweet tooth connoisseur. All the Danishes are superb. OTHER STUFF We don't buy too much cheese but they do offer a wide selection of excellent cheeses. Same with coffee... I may prefer coffee from other places but the coffee is good and their frozen coffee is excellent. They also have soups, juices, spreads and from what I hear, an excellent Key Lime Pie. read more

The best sticky bun I've probably ever had. Flaky and croissant like bottom with just the right amount of sticky ness and a couple of nuts. Go before 10am or they will probably be out of them! We went the first day, then came back every morning (5 mornings, but on 2 they were out!) This review is solely on the key lime pie. My wife and I have tried several key lime pie shops in the area and as of the time of this writing I believe Old Town Bakery has my second favorite. I googled the best place to get key lime pie in Key West and found Old Town Bakery thru the Miami newspaper. It's a small little shop with only a bench to sit at outside. We each ordered a slice of key lime pie. It was very fresh and had a great flavor. It was extremely soft as a result of being kept at room temperature. I enjoyed my slice, but wish there had been somewhere else for me to eat it at. This place is best for takeout for sure and not eating there.I don't know if it's the best key lime pie in Key West, but I certainly enjoyed it. read more

Our daughter had their breakfast sandwich 3 years ago. When we recently took a trip to Key Largo, our daughter insisted we drive Key West, just to get the breakfast sandwich again. We had the tuna sandwich and it was pretty good. The tuna is fresh, but doesn't have much flavor or seasoning. Their bread, however, was AMAZING. They're a bakery so that's expected. We also got a variety of pastries to try. We LOVED the raspberry danish (accidentally ate before we took a pic lol) and the sticky bun (sticky bun was absolutely amazing, wish we got 2 ). Great bakery off the main drag of tourists. I could tell when I arrived locals frequent the place. I had an iced chai that was delicious; best one I've had since being in Key West on vacation. The breakfast burrito with bacon was decent, but could have used more egg and potato. The bacon was delicious and cooked great. I had buyers remorse for not getting a breakfast sandwich on bread they make in-house though. The real star of the show was the blueberry cream cheese danish I had....DIVINE!!
