If i can give 0 stars, I'd do it in a heartbeat. From the beginning the owner, Robert, was short on his answers when I asked about his services on pest control (roaches). We finally set on a date which was 3/15 between 11:30am-12 which he did not repond back to confirm. Unfortunately, it was raining that day. So at 12:07 I received a text from him saying "Obviously no pest control in rain let me know another day this week that will work for you?". First of all, what PROFESSIONAL starts off a message to their customer like that with no greeting or anything??? Secondly, is it obvious? Cause I was clueless and I'm sure others who don't know much about pest control might be unaware as well. I Ignored and brushed off that comment and told him to come the following day, same time frame. Again no response back to confirm. The next day arrives (today 3/16) and I'd thought I message him at 11 to get an ETA. AGAIN no response. Then I called him twice, once at 12 and the other at 12:26, AGAIN NO RESPONSE . So at 12:30 I decided that I'd cancel service all together. At 12:40 he finally responds back saying he was trying to "squeeze me in". You've never mentioned that when I messaged you before nor responded back to any of my messages where you could have told me. If you told me you had another customer before me , I'd understand but you never responded nor informed me about it. Is this how you've been conducting business since 1994? So unprofessional and so unrealiable!! He didn't even apologize but rather "hey that's the world we live in". If you need someone who does not communicate with their customers and are unprofessional, this is business is right for you! read more

I had a flea infestation that started in my backyard garden but spread to inside my home. My wife and daughter were miserable due to the many flea bites they were getting and their strong reaction to the bites. I got multiple estimates from pest control companies. Robert's quote was by far the lowest, which originally made me a little skeptical. He explained to me that his business doesn't have much overhead so he can keep his prices low. I was still a bit skeptical, but decided to hire him. I wanted someone to come out quickly. Robert was able to squeeze me in the day after I called, which is another reason I hired him. He did a thorough job both inside and outside my home. However, two days after the treatment, I was still finding fleas in the garden and inside. I messaged Robert and he agreed to come out to do a follow up. It took longer than I would have liked, but he eventually did the follow up treatment and since then my garden and house seem to be flea free. If I have one criticism, it's only that Robert was sometimes slow in responding (especially for the follow up treatment). But, as he doesn't have an office staff, it's understandable that he can't always respond immediately. The key thing is that he did come out to do the follow up and the follow up proved to be very effective. Overall, I'm happy with the work and the cost. read more

On Saturday at 9:30 pm my husband and I were enjoying a relaxing evening until we saw a RAT standing in our living room staring at us. We tried to corral him out the front door but he was too spooked and we were too! I left a message for Rob at Olde Towne Termite and Pest Control. He called me right back and assured me he would be out first thing in the morning. As promised Rob came out and lucky for us we found the critter in our laundry room. Rob went into action set traps, closed the laundry room door and sealed the space under the door to prevent escape. He told us that we would hear movement in the room, and when that stopped, there would be a good possibility that the rat was caught. Definitely seems like a nice guy , but a flake . I've read a lot of these reviews on his company, and the 2 and 3 star reviews seem to be accurate. Not sure why I was getting poor service from this company . I paid him his start up fee of 140 for first treatment. After that it was a challenge getting him to come back . He doesn't show up for his scheduled appointment, called and left a message, no response. Finally when I did get a hold of him he did show up , but the next time he again flaked on his scheduled appointment. I tried using a small company instead of a larger company , but this is the service I received. I found out my neighbor also used him and they paid up Front for a year and had a hard time getting h this guy to show up for his monthly appointments . read more

I had Rob come out last summer to take care of my ant infestation. He also found black widow spiders. The ants started to come back so I called him again. I like this company as they use natural compounds. I have pets so I don't have to worry that they will not get sick. He charged me $99 to spray inside & out. I've seen some of the other reviews regarding communication issues. I didn't experience any of those issues. I also understand generally understand the nature of house call visits and scheduling, so if people have a hard cut off time rather than work within a time window, it's usually best to communicate that up front. I contacted Rob through his chat feature on his site in the evening. He responded within about 30 minutes with up front pricing, options, etc. and called me shortly after. He came next day and was able to do the job quickly. He gave adequite information about the product he was applying. He gave fair recommendations on how to treat pests, unlike the big names that lead and push the most expensive plans. In general just seemed like a solid, honest, hard working guy. read more

His free inspection was far more detailed than a competitor with a 2 man crew just hours prior. Rob took the time to educate about the types of termites as well as the industry. Our neighborhood attracts hornets and I didn't realize for quite some time that a hornet nest started right above our courtyard patio connecting our house to our garage. I noticed one morning 3 flying from our second story window and finally looked up to see a huge nest. With a newborn in the house, we called for quotes and wanted someone to come out immediately to remove it. Poor communication. Really thought we found a good pest control company. Did a great job on the initial expensive visit but then it was like pulling teeth trying to get him back out for the monthly service we signed up for. I just gave up. Upon receipt of the owner's response trying to shift blame by stating, "We are sorry that you allowed only 20 minutes to perform an inspection", I find it necessary to correct the misstatement. As I noted in the initial review I received the first call from the owner 20 minutes after the 9 am appointment time that he specifically agreed to. I then waited another 10 minutes. When he was more than 30 minutes late, I left to address other needs. It had nothing to do with me "only allow[ing] 20 minutes". When someone (particularly someone seeking your business and hard-earned money) tells you they will show up at 9 am and do not tell you there is a window and they are not there by 9:30, I think it is fair to call it off and not waste more of my time or give them business for their tardiness. I found someone else who could do what they committed to do. You can too. I changed my rating from two stars to one because the owner's misstatements and the below is from the Yelp email exchange I had with him immediately after the incident that shows he knew when he posted they were misstatements and went forward in trying to blame others nonetheless. You judge for yourself. The below is written by the owner on 2/2/21: Upon same above mentioned conversation you asked how long the inspection took and per your asking I informed you 30-45 minutes. I called as a courtesy at 910am to let you know I was on way and I would be there in 10 minutes you cancelled as I pulled up.If you didn't have the 30 to 45 minutes you could have cancelled when I texted to begin with. I apologize that you heard I would be there at 9 sharp but unfortunately it doesn't work like that and to write review based on no inspection, no work being done it just goes to show you how instant gratification society has become. This is an updated review. The owner, Rob, tested positive for covid so he self quarantined. Unfortunately, I didn't know and I wasn't able to get in touch with him during that time, so I left a bad review thinking he didn't honor his 30 day warranty for his treatment of roaches. After leaving the review he got a hold of me and explained the situation, so we set a time once he felt better to spray the house again. Rob, the owner, was very thorough in explaining the chemicals he's using for our crawl space/attic/and I believe he also sprayed some on the fence that looked infected with termites. I appreciate that he is honest in a way that he won't try to upsell extra services to you. it's always refreshing to find people you can trust here on yelp, and Rob is definitely one of them! And his carpentry guy Gabriel, was awesome too :) - he changed some fascia boards that had termite damage but he accidentally did "extra work" on our shed and Rob didn't charge me for it because it wasn't part of the contract. So I needed a pest inspection and Robert agreed to come the same day as the general inspector. He actually forgets the appt, so we had to wait a couple hours for him to get there. The floorboard underneath the sink had dry rot, so he's like this isn't as a result of termites, but I need to report it anyway to blah blah. He then offered to fix it and said what I paid for the termite inspection would be counted toward the repair. Cool. I close on my place and he follows up to see if I need the work done, I say I'll let him know if the seller agrees to fix it. the seller wound up giving me a credit so I hit him up. He has coronavirus and said he'll get back to me once he's better. A couple weeks go by and he gets back to me, I ask what the price is, he's says $300 and I respond, so $300-125, great...when are you free. Crickets. I follow up again, radio silence. Honestly, why offer if you had no intention on following through. I can't speak to his ability to eradicate pest, cause his inspection took all of 10 mins, but this is bad business practice. My initial request for service on a Sunday was great. I had an ant issue and Rob sprayed inside and out. Two days later the ants were back. When I talked with him he said that it was not unusual for that to happen. All was good for two weeks and then I was inundated again with the ants. I tried several times to call and all I got was voicemail. Left a message, but no return call. Also sent an email with no response from that either.
