We've been a customer of Herstine's since 2014 when we had our 1st home. We moved 20 miles away and we brought them with us. I work in pest control but I am a tenant and was given the opportunity for rodent and roach control by this firm from our landlord. We moved in less then a month ago and discovered the joy of both of these pests living their best lives in our garage. He set traps and bait stations and will be back in a week to check them. He identified the entry ways and placed steel wool in the holes. His wife, that's right a woman in the field (!) My wife and I have Herstine's treating our house on a regular basis. Since doing so, the amount of interior pests we've seen has dropped to zero. They are always on time, and they take care of matters quickly and efficiently. If they tell you they're going to be at your house at 1130am, they will be there at 1130am. They will be there at 1130am. They do not force "windows" on you as all of the other firms will, in my experience (e.g. no "We will arrive between 8am and 5pm"). We called Herstine's Pest Control because they are local and were recommended to us. We had a major ant problem. They fit us into their schedule promptly and they were going to be on-time but called us to offer to come early and we gratefully accepted. They listened carefully to our problem and offered comprehensive solutions. Their price was reasonable, under $200. They told us to call them back if we still saw activity after a certain amount of days. We saw activity and didn't want to wait as they asked and so we called and they came back early and did another treatment. The problem was totally eliminated. They work together, husband and wife and are pleasant, professional, extremely knowledgeable about their business and the products they use. Had my house sprayed for fleas. Was told that I would need to give time for all of the fleas to die off. When I called after a month and a half of still having issues, I was told there was going to be "a charge" for them to come out again. The issue was never eradicated by their initial treatment and now they want me to pay again? If I'm going to put out more money, I'll find a different company that will get the job done right the 1st time. read more

I really can't say enough about how great of an experience we had with Brian regarding an ant problem. He was so knowledgeable of pests in general and the specific chemicals he uses to remove them, and he took the time to explain these things to us so we could learn also. They both inspected my home & gave me a bid. We had rats in our attic. Found Herstine's Pest Solutions on Yelp and wanted to work with a local company so I gave them a call. Brian and his wife came out to my house to meet with me on my first available date (a Thursday). Brian set traps, sealed up entry points into the house, walked me through the process and patiently explained all of the details including to give him a call if we heard traps go off or started to notice an odor so that he could clear the traps. On Saturday afternoon around 5 pm I returned home to a smell in the house. I called Brian, left a message and he returned my call within 10 minutes and asked if he could stop by in about 30 minutes. On a Saturday! I was impressed as I thought that we were going to be stuck with a smell in the house through the weekend. Talk about service! Catherine and Brian are amazing! I called and made an appointment for next week to treat ants. Then I came home to find what looked to be thousands of ants in the house. Next week seemed so far away last night. So, I called Catherine this morning and told her about the ants in the house. She squeezed me in to their already busy schedule. They arrived right on time - who does that any more? They first explained to me what they were going to do and what products they were using. Then they went about their work. Carefully and efficiently. We have indoor cats so it is very important to use pet friendly products indoors. Catherine explained to me the product she was using was very toxic to ants in even the small amounts she applied to small gaps and behind plugs. She also explained that the cats wouldn't even know it was on a baseboard because it has no odor and if they were to lick it, the amount would be so small it wouldn't effect them. Toxic to ants but not toxic to cats in the very small doses she was applying. One of my cats has already "inspected" an area of application and walked away without licking it. I can't thank Catherine and Brian enough. I am so glad I called them. You won't regret using Herstine's! In fact, you will want to sing their praises - especially if you have ever dealt with another pest control company. Catherine and Brian are my pest control folks now! read more
