I popped in as a walk in on a whim with a general idea and mind and was matched up with April as I wanted a piece in the American traditional style. April took her time and created a beautiful stencil that I was immediately enamored with. We decided on the placement and size and were off to the races. April didn't rush the piece and really took her time to create a true work of art that I'm beyond elated with. Her skills as an artist are absolutely apparent as evidenced by her own personal artwork lining her station, and her portfolio at the front desk. She is incredibly kind, patient while tattooing you, and has quite possibly the most gentle hand ever with a tattoo machine. I've never had such great shading work done with such minimal pain! The shop itself is incredibly clean, has an amazing American traditional/classic tattoo parlor aesthetic, and the folks who work there are EXTREMELY kind, easy to talk to, and funny. DONT GET PIERCED HERE PLEASE i went in w my gf to get my second nostril piercing . I pulled out cash and went to the back of the shop to get pierced and there was a pipe and a grinder beside me and NO ONE MOVED IT lol. The piercer was in my nose longer then a min and scratched my nose. He also made me STAND . It was soooo swollen i barely could get my other piercing back in. LONG READ- If you are looking for a piercing, I suggest not going here. Went to go get a cartilage piercing done and whoever pierced mine (I don't remember the name) did not do any standard basic procedure besides wear gloves. Not sure if the "piercer" sterilized the needle either. Instead of inserting a internally threaded piercing (after putting in the needle) with a flat backing, the dude put in a piercing like one you'd put in for a lobe instead of cartilage. Signed a consent form and all, but they didn't even ask for ID. Money wasted. Yes, I took out the messed up piercing, and will let it closeup and heal, then I'm re-piercing it somewhere else. DO NOT STOP IN HERE! I walked into this shop a few weeks ago while on spring break from work. I'm an elementary school teacher and I have a sleeve of artwork from my students in addition to over 40 other tattoos(including a full sleeve) mostly visible, from multiple artists, so had they been decent people I probably would've gotten some work done here just because the inside of the shop admittedly has a pretty dope aesthetic. I was getting some sketches done at a shop with a much better staff and atmosphere just down the street and was told I had about 20 minutes to kill, so as one does, I took a walk down Hollywood Blvd. On my way back to the other shop, I walked in here by mistake because the two shop are about 2 blocks away at most, and realized as soon as I walked in, from the layout and interior I was in the wrong place. I explained the situation and that I had already paid for my sketches at a shop nearby and that I was wondering if they could maybe direct to the shop based on the description. The owner, along with two other men came out from the back while I was talking to the only decent person (a lady who I assume was a tattoo artist but the conversation didn't get far enough for me to confirm) on site at the time and began cursing me out and calling me disrespectful for.. making a mistake? I attempted to explain why I stopped there and that I was just trying to get back to the place where my work was already paid in full, but once I realized that this had gotten hostile I apologized and turned to leave. As I was walking out the owner walked up behind me and kicked me in the back, and proceeded to dare me to take them on in a 3 vs 1 fight. I walked away because it was highly unlikely this would end in my favor. Either I would lose the fight or win and potentially have the police called by another staff member hidden in the back somewhere, when all I was looking for was directions and a few tattoo. I hope this review saves at least one person from having to deal with the awful staff they have at this location and their lack of professionalism. Edit: #1 Yes i had been drinking, I had gone out for brunch with a friend for her birthday prior to entering the shop, but no I wasn't drunk. I wasn't rude, I spoke to everyone very calmly and even apologized multiple times for entering the wrong shop. The unfortunate thing is that YOU Christian as a shop owner we're seemingly sober and was still hostile about the interaction. The biggest issue of all is that you seem to think that even if I was drunk it justifies you assaulting someone for wrongly entering your shop. So my point still stands. read more

So my girlfriend and were vacationing in LA and ran across this place as it was right off the strip and near our hotel. We decided hey let's just go in and check out their work. My girlfriend and I dropped in on May 26th and we were so thrilled with their prices and work we came back again on May 27th. To say that the guys over at Old Tradition are phenomenal is an understatement. I had the pleasure of receiving work from both Rafael and Felipe. My first tattoo was a freehand letter "B" done by Felipe on my forearm. Yes I did say freehand!!! Let's just say he definitely specializes in lettering. If you're looking for some kick ass lettering he is definitely the guy to see. My second tattoo was done by Rafael. He did a complete coverup on my ankle. The detail is imaginable. I could not believe the completed piece. There are no remnants of the piece that was on my ankle before. I'm in "awe" and a very happy consumer. The reason for my late review is of course due to wanting to confirm how well it would heal. I'm absolutely ecstatic! In my experience the healing process causes my ink to fade. I went to the last Friday the 13th event and the wait was not bad. But the tattoo itself is definitely less than perfect. I was put on the chair on the right as soon as you walk in and someone bumped me as I was getting tattooed. The artist didn't say anything to me about it but he mentioned it to the other artist that bumped me. So its pretty cramped in there. I even had to ask him to put some kind of wrapping on it when he was done. The lines are crooked and squiggly, idk if I'd ever go back. The experience was ALRIGHT. UPDATE-The artist's name was Alex. And Yes, it was on Friday, September 13th. I went with a group of people and I will attach their tattoos as well. They were done by other artists and one of my friends got the same tattoo.
