1 star for decent location. The food is some of the worst my family has eaten. We got the 8 oz grouper dinner for 30.99. The fish was rubbery. The sides- veggies with garlic sauce were from frozen and the potato salad was from a tub. None of it was good. We also had the haddock tacos. The fish and slaw were okay but they just served it up in a tortilla straight from the package. The giant hot dog was gross. The 1lb of shrimp was decent and the salad with strawberries looked okay. The service was meh. Overall the whole experience was half a star. It's a tourist trap. Extremely expensive for what it is and their charging is confusing. I do not recommend. read more

Such a fun experience! The staff were friendly and the view was everything you'd want from a dockside restaurant. I highly recommend eating outside! And the food! Simple and delicious. I had the best shrimp cocktail I've had in a long time, and the sauce had just the right amount of horseradish to give it a bite (without a kick.. the way I like it). I saved what was left to put on my mahi tuna wrap. The other two in my party got the mahi fish tacos and substitute the chips for a house salad -- it's what they get every time, because the key lime vinaigrette is their favorite! Love love love! Parking can be a challenge, but it's worth it. I think I've gotten just about everything on the menu! My fav used to be the Greek salad with shrimp salad on top, but I've been all about the peel & eat shrimp lately. Get the smoked fish dip, it's so worth it! The wait staff is incredibly welcoming and the new shaded deck is a perfect spot for Fido to hang out and look at the water. Last time I was there we saw a manatee in the marina, it was pretty epic! read more

This place has gone so far down hill it's sad, this used to be my favorite spot especially when people visit from out of state, this has been my go to for years, well no more! I live 14 blocks from Clearwater Beach yet I'll drive all the way to Dunedin for this place, went there for the LAST time Tuesdays 3/11 I started off with a lb of peel and eat shrimp which I get EVERY TIME I GO THERE I get the garlic butter, in the past I'm able to scoop garlic from the bottom of the butter, unfortunately there was very little garlic sprinkled on top of my plate but nothing in the butter it was plain butter, I asked the man ( server) if I could get another butter with some garlic in it, he preceded to tell me " it's just garlic butter we don't actually put garlic in the butter" when I explained I eat it all the time and there's actually always real garlic in the butter he argued with me in front of my entire table then says " I see garlic on your plate" are you kidding me? I've been in the hospitality business 50 years still am ( own my own place) if any of my staff EVER spoke to a customer like that I assure you they would not have a job for much longer, so instead of continuing on with the scene he was making I said ok never mind, then after my meal I asked the woman server for a wet nap since eating butter shrimp my hands were greased up good she says sure, 10 minutes later she brings me ONE napkin, HA thanks, so yea I'll spend my $200-$300 a month I usually spend there elsewhere, I guess their business is doing just fine that they don't care how they treat their customers but this one's out! read more

Fun Saturday in quaint Dunedin! But where to dine! Sooo glad we chose the Olde Bay Cafe! Not much to look at from the outside, and for sure, not very big...but boy oh boy, was it a great choice! We put our name on the list and didn't have to wait long at all til we were seated. Small, high-top table with bar stools...it sits directly on the water providing a lovely and casual atmosphere! Our waitress was immediately present for our drink order, and we each selected the homemade sangria (one red, one white). I highly recommend that you try the sangria. Both were fabulous, generous, refreshing & reasonably priced. I selected the grouper...a staple of Florida cuisine while my friend chose the scallop wrap. Can't say enough about the freshness or quality of both. And for sides I selected slaw & potato salad. I think the slaw was perhaps some of the freshest & lightest I have ever eaten! No mayo, perfectly shredded with perhaps a hint of lemon? I wish I had asked if they'd share the recipe, as I'd love to replicate it. The potato salad was creamy and delicious. I cleaned my plate...and that's where the 5 stars materialized! Try it...I don't think you will be disappointed!! read more

We came here two days of our trip for drinks and small dishes. We had our pup so sat outside. They treated him so well. Remembering his name when we came the second time. The smoked fish spread was a bit dry, but great taste came with crackers and we added jalapeños. The pretzel with cheese sauce-the pretzel a bit overdone but the sauce was creamy and delicious. The best was the key lime pie. Crumbly graham cracker crust seemed homemade. Fresh whipped cream. The key lime was light and so well balanced. One of the best I have ever had. We found Olde Bay Cafe on the Bring Fido app while looking for dog friendly places near the beach. This place did not disappoint. They were very friendly with the dog. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. We loved being able to look out unto the Marina. I would definitely recommended Olde Bay Cafe. read more

Tom Terrific here with another honest review. UNSANITARY SERVICE. I was greeted by the man who was at the entrance and seated immediately. This gentleman cleaned the top of the table. I was greeted by the server who took my order immediately. I simply wanted a draft beer but when she placed it in front of me, she had her FINGERS on the top rim of the plastic cup!! Ladies and gentlemen this is Serving 101. AS A SERVER, YOU NEVER PLACE YOUR FINGERS ON THE BUSINESS END OF ANYONE'S FOOD OR DRINK. I know the pandemic is over but........ She handles paper money, coins, greasy plates, dirty napkins, credit cards, cleans the table with chemicals and does other things with her hands. Perhaps she runs her hands through her hair, wipes sweat from her brow, scratches her nose or worse, etc. Oh, Tom Terrific, you're being too harsh. Here's my primary point: If they do this type of unsanitary actions IN FRONT OF YOU, WHAT THE HELL ARE THEY DOING IN THE KITCHEN BEHIND YOUR BACK AND OUT OF VIEW?? My readers will know that before I started my life's work, I was a chef at three restaurants. I know full well what goes on in the back. Great restaurants like Bon Appetit have stringent sanitary procedures that employees follow. Had it not been for the friendly tidings I would have given one star. I have never seen a place go downhill so fast. New owners must've gotten rid of fresh fish. Even the dolphin that used to live there has left. The service was great. But don't bring anyone you're trying to impress here for the food. The drinks were great. The food is no longer off the boat fresh. Must be store bought. It used to be the place we would bring our family and friends who were visiting. No more. Big disappointment. Good luck trying to find seafood in your soup or wrap. No more fresh scallops. You feel that they are not happy when you order another glass of water instead of a 2nd beer. Pass this buy if you want a good vibe. Was on vacation for five days to visit family. Had the grouper taco and a blue crab roll. Both were pretty sub par and I'm pretty certain that the crab roll was a major contributor to the two days of Hershey squirts that followed. Our waiter was so bad that his coworker had to apologize for his incompetence. The second waiter is the only reason I'm giving this 2 stars. Don't go, not worth the Costco pack of toilet paper you will need to purchase following your meal. My wife had the stone crab cake and described it as, "the worst crab cake I have ever had". She had intense stomach pain for the next couple of days. My wife's mother took us here because it was their favorite place, but literally lost sleep over the next couple of days because she is considering going back to complain to the owner. read more

We came to this cafe in Dunedin per the advice of a local and we were not disappointed. We ate outdoors next to the wharf where picnic tables are set up. Casual eatery. I ordered a red sangria (delish) and a blackened scallop wrap. Not knowing what to expect, I was really pleasantly surprised. It was served cold with a sweet mango vinaigrette, strawberries, avocado and feta. It came with kettle type chips. I scarfed it down. The service was timely and again, very casual. Food was very good. Seating is outside with nice view but some will sit in sun. Parking difficult on the weekend, so plan to walk a bit. Service was so so. We had to ask for beverage refills several times. We had a party of six and were abruptly told by waitress that they could not split up bill. This made it quite a chore for us to figure out what everyone owed. She would have gotten a bigger tip if they hadn't already added 20% to the single bill we had to dissect. We usually tip 25-30%. Second visit, very disappointing. Started when hostest through our menus down in unclean side bar area. My husband specifically asked if he orded appetizer and meal at same time could we still have time between them, of course we were told yes. Yeah, a whole 2 minutues. His grouper and my salmon were fishy the tuna appetizer had silver color indicating on way to garbage. Then a single person took up three seats at prime view location and then had her face in phone the whole time she ate. Why are people so selfish.
