Extremely Disappointing Experience - Rude Sales Management and No Follow-Up…read more We visited this Honda dealership as we begin shopping for a new Honda Pilot. Our goal was simple -- to understand current pricing and trade-in value so we could compare across multiple dealerships before purchasing by the end of the year. Our salesperson was polite, but the sales manager, Joe Jemley, was shockingly rude and dismissive simply because we mentioned that we planned to compare pricing from multiple dealerships. He actually questioned whether they "wanted to give us pricing" on a car and refused to provide a trade-in value for our vehicle. His attitude throughout the interaction was abrupt, condescending, and completely unprofessional. After the visit, I reached out to our sales rep and asked for someone above Joe to contact me to discuss the situation. I was told the GSM, Trustin Hampton, would call me the next business day -- that call never happened. I then called the dealership myself and asked to speak with Joe Jemley's manager, Chris Denny, and was transferred to his voicemail. That call was never returned either. This experience reflects a complete failure of leadership at multiple levels. Joe Jemley's conduct showed a total lack of professionalism, and the fact that no one from senior leadership followed up only reinforces the poor culture and accountability at this dealership. We will not be returning, and we strongly recommend visiting AutoNation Honda or Rusty Wallace Honda instead -- their professionalism and customer service were exceptional and a night-and-day difference from what we experienced at Airport Honda.

After calling AAA and having the car towed to Twin City Nissan in Alcoa Tennessee where a nice man named Brown said we could leave it after hours and that they would look at it first thing the next morning. That was so nice, given that we were stuck out of state and were trying to get back home. The next morning we called and spoke with a man named Jodie, who said their diagnostic work showed that we had a blown head gasket. Ouch. That's a huge repair. We decided that we would rent a car to get back home to Atlanta and have the car towed back home a few days later. Twin City allowed us to leave our broken car there for on the lot for three days until AAA came and picked it up. Not only did Twin City Nissan NOT charge us a three day storage fee, but they also didn't even charge us for the diagnostic. (Our dealer in Roswell GA would have charged us $139 for that). They were so friendly and helpful and we can't thank them enough. The kindness and caring nature of the folks here helped make a crappy situation a little better. :o)

They politely offered the same price as online and then when drafting the paperwork, added a $3200 "adjustment" and $1500 for fees in the quote, making the "discounted" vehicle more than sticker. When asking about the mark up, they were honest and said that is their additional profit and that they do not actually sell cars at the advertised price. I went to another dealership and purchased the exact same vehicle without the markup and with reasonable fees. Buyer beware. They will use deceptive practices to mark the vehicle up. Be sure to check your contract.

Don't hesitate to walk away if something feels off. My experience with this dealership has been nothing short of a nightmare. I feel completely deceived and violated. They lowballed me on my trade-in value, basing it on what I paid vs what it is currently worth. They then charged an outrageous $5,000 over the sticker price of the new car I purchased. I didn't realize this discrepancy until after I had already signed all the paperwork and driven the car home, making it impossible to reverse the deal, though I tried. It's incredibly frustrating to think I could have avoided this if the dealership had been upfront and transparent with their pricing. I understand dealerships need to make a profit, but I expected a fair, honest transaction--not to be taken advantage of.

He started our interaction talking to me like I was either stupid or a child. Condescending tone and irritated. I told him we are adults and he doesn't need to speak to me in that manner. His response? "Well, you're acting like a child!" Mind you, this was maybe 15 seconds into our interaction. This was for a warranty repair which he and his team decided to blame on the tint installer. The problem with that is the tint was installed 3 years ago and the defective part didn't show any signs until last month. So just deflecting blame so as not to honor the warranty. I will never recommend anyone to get service from this dealer so long as Mr. Sergent is there. I will actively advise people not to bring any business here. Purchase, trade or service.

Take my experience with them and save yourself the hassle and expense of what they put me through. I bought a car from Whitehead Auto Sales, Alcoa, Tn, on December 28, 2025. When I drove the vehicle to the bank to get the money to purchase the car, I realized the heater wasn't working. I was not presented with the option for a warranty until after I had paid for the vehicle. I told Austin that the heater wasn't working. He said he would get it fixed. I I told him I didn't need a warranty as long as they would get the comfort system working on the vehicle. He said he would get it fixed. Since it was warm that day on my test drive, we had the ac on, and it worked well. He called the service tech over to set up an appointment the following Tuesday. If they were not willing to repair the issue, I would have walked away from the purchase immediately. The car has been back to the lot 5 times over 4 months to get the comfort system to work. Once it became apparent that the repair might become expense, Robin Whithead advised they would not be willing to repair. I should have taken the technician's warning at Firestone that Whitehead will do the cheapest repair even if they know it is not the proper fix solution. I guess all I can now is sue them.

I hate that I have to write this review - I was even hoping we could do more business together. Life is hard enough right now without getting ripped off for doing honest work. I would not recommend buying from a dealership who handles business this way. If they did this to us, imagine what they will do when you buy from them.

Finally the "manager overnighted one from Cadillac". (Not sure why they couldn't do that even a month or two before). Ok that's fine it was fixed but here's the kicker. I brought my 2025 Acadia here because the "safety restraint system" light came on. They found the airbag connector sensor had a small tear in it on the passenger seat. (WHICH IS A KNOWN GM COMMON Problem-look it up) same code and everything. Get this...they tried to tell me I must be storing something under the seat or "maybe a mouse did it" yes they actually went with the mouse excuse. Funny thing is when I came in for an oil leak on my other car I overheard them tell some old man "whelp it looks like rodents got in there and messed things up". So this sounds like that's their thing at this dealer. Also said it would take " 2 weeks to get the parts and it would be $900". I asked why can't they try and get this under warranty and the service manager steps in and swears up and down it's not a warranty item and sends me a video of him moving the seat back and fourth with the connector literally almost touching the side rail. I feel bad for poor Robert the service advisor he's a good guy but his manager and techs will just try and do whatever it takes to get out of warranty work and make assumptions instead of actually diagnosing things. Please run from this place there's so many better GMC/Chevy dealers in Knoxville. I went to a different GMC dealer down the road and not only did they COVER it under warranty but they also got me BACK on the road the next day. Can you believe it lol. Run for from this place. It's terrible. They lost tons of business from me.
