There are two Ole Smoky's along the strip in Gatlinburg. One on each side of the street. Be sure to visit BOTH because each one has a different type of whiskey to try. The 'taster hosts' are a hoot! We had a great one at each of the two places. They make tasting a lot of fun! There is only one thing we suggested at both stores -- they offer a sampler pack of 12 small whiskeys - HOWEVER, not everyone likes the 12 selections they have packaged. Why not offer a six and 12 pack sampler and let the customer pick what they would like to have in it? I bet they would sell a lot more that way because people are more inclined to purchase something that they like rather than pay money for a package of 12 that may have several you know you would never drink.

Me and family had the best time at Ole Smokey! We had gotten a VIP tour through my dad's work. Tim did an amazing job explaining the history and making it interactive the entire time. After the tour, we had a tasting section where we were able to try 15 different alcohols. Tim gave a great transition into the different drinks as well as explaining the story behind the flavors. Johnny even came to visit our family which was very sweet of him. He even let us try some of his favorite drinks for the selection. My favorite were definitely the brownie and margarita. The staff were so gracious that they gave us 8 drinks on the house which we were so thankful for. Overall, we had the best experience and highly recommending anyone staying in Gatlinburg to visit here. The staff is the best of the best.

    Fans they were giving out.

Of course the tasting is what brought us in. We sampled a nice amount of Moonshine for a reasonable price. I'll say the experience was nice but I'm not a huge fan of Ole Smoky brand. They have some flavors that I like which are the sour watermelon and brownie flavor but nothing ends really stuck out. The person service our group was more attentive to the other people in my group but it's ok, I'm just there to drink. The merch was cute, just very expensive.

I went in for a tasting around 4:25 on 7/12/24 and the sampling bars were packed! Husband and friend stayed outside listening to the music while I looked for an opening at the bars to sample some of the flavors I'd not tried in the past. But I was impatient, couldn't find an opening, and joined them outside. I'll try again on another day. I understand why they charge for the samples (responsible drinking) and appreciate the credit towards purchase after the sampling (reasonable prices and SO many choices). I also appreciate the free entertainment outside their doors on their stage on a warm Friday evening away from the blistering sun. This place also has merchandise and hard working employees who are friendly, efficient and kind.

Ole Smoky Mountain Moonshine Distillery Review We had such a great time at Ole Smoky that we visited twice for tastings (yes, twice--don't judge, lol). The setup is a blast: you saddle up to the bar, and a lively bartender guides your group through a lineup of moonshine samples. We went for the full 12-tasting option (you can do fewer if you prefer). Most of the flavors were strong but smooth and delicious, with a couple that burned all the way down to the pit of your stomach--moonshine doing what moonshine does best, haha! By the end, let's just say we felt absolutely no pain. Outside, there are plenty of rocking chairs set up facing a stage, where talented bluegrass musicians entertained us with classics like "Rocky Top" and some Johnny Cash favorites. The music and mountain air made the whole experience feel authentic and unforgettable. We ended up taking home six jars of moonshine and scored a free sampler pack of Java Moonshine (amazing in coffee!) plus a free cooler. It was such a fun, entertaining stop--I highly recommend it if you're in Gatlinburg and want the true mountain moonshine experience.

The whisky tasting at Ole Smoky Moonshine was a must when we planned a trip into the area, and we have to admit it was pretty fun. Our whisky tasting bartender was funny and did a good job of entertaining everyone at his station. You do have the option of the premium or regular tastings. I believe the only difference is a premium bourbon and a 40 proof dill pickle piece? My extraordinarily beautiful partner and I did the regular tasting package, but the premium one did seem appealing. If we did it again, we would have gotten that one, as she really wanted to try the pickle. The flavored whisky shots were mostly nice, and the 40 proof mandarin orange piece was also tasty. I believe we found the watermelon whisky the best flavor as it tasted like a jolly rancher. If you're afraid that you would get buzzed afterwards; don't be, those shots are pretty small. They do give you a $5 coupon off of any whisky bottle you would like to purchase, but let's be honest. It's far more expensive here than it is in the stores.

Had a great time! We stopped in to do a taste testing, laughed a lot and had some great moonshine. Our bar tender Britt was great! She was funny and kept us laughing. Definitely a fun place to stop by.

There isn't enough moonshine to go around in Tennessee. I thought dinner was enough and we ended up here before heading back to our cabin to unwind. Our kids were at the arcade with family and friends while my husband and I snuck out across the street to have some Ole Smoky. It was around 9 o'clock at night and it wasn't packed. The rainy weather had a factor in it and we didn't let it stop us. I sadly did not get any pictures of the tasting shots and I do remember they were good...lol. We had a white chocolate strawberry cream, peaches, and some other ones to try. The bartender had a fun personality and she described how each one of the shots were made by the distillery. The butter pecan and key lime cream jars were our souvenirs to take home.

This spot has lots of energy. For the drinks $5 basic tasting $8 for premium/elite tasting. The tastings are a fun experience with the bartenders giving communion sized samples of the drinks. There's also lots of shopping options and you can purchase all types of items in addition to alcohol - clothing, hats, bags, etc. Definitely a nice spot to stop at if you're in Gatlinburg.

You'll…read moreavoid a lot of the tourist traffic here with its unique vibe, and you'll come away with a memory of "that cute British pub" when it's all over. NOTES: -This place is run on bare bones staff. I'd guess maybe two cooks and the single server. It is not a place to come if you need quick service or quick food. They're very friendly (even if you're not a local!), but definitely come when you have a lot of extra time. -This place is not accessible in the slightest. You'll need to go up two flights of very steep stairs to make it to the front door. The stairs are on the old side, and I was concerned about one breaking. There is no elevator. -The parking lot is relatively small and shared with a nearby Urgent Care. It's gravel and grass, and people mostly made their "own" spot where they wanted. As this made for a haphazard parking lot with small margins for cars, I wouldn't let a newer driver park here. PROS: -Lots of unique British dishes. We've never seen somewhere serving Bubbles and Squeak and lots of other dishes. If you're not familiar with niche British dishes, you'll probably have to pull out your cell phone to figure out what some of this stuff is - and that's really fun. -Food is really good. It tastes like food-your-mom-would-make instead of gourmet takes on these dishes. It has a really authentic, small business vibe to it. -Unique beers on tap too. You aren't going to find Bud Light or Miller Lite on tap here. All of their beers are unique pub fare. They do offer some of the American favorites in a can/bottle, but this is a great excuse to try beers you wouldn't normally have access too. -Despite the older age of the building, the bathrooms are very modern and very clean. Most gas station bathrooms are in worse shape than the ones here. CONS: -It's definitely a small, "small margins" business, and all of the cons that go along with that. Food took awhile, upcharge for using a credit card, non-focal dishes may have been frozen/reheated/canned, and parking was difficult. That all being said, we're looking to come back again, and the atmosphere (and the taste of their unique star dishes) make it one of those places you'll actually talk about when you're done with your trip instead of forgetting that morning you simply went to Denny's to scarf down pancakes.

Good choices. Limited food but for tourist area very nice vibe…read more Drinks high though and no specials I believe it will be better

So you're either all in, or you're like my grumpy self: wondering when you can leave, and wondering why your soup is being poured into your bowl from a foil-lined Tupperware container like you're serving time in a penitentiary. This show is bananas. I had no idea what was going on at any point. Don't ask me about the plot. All I know is that there were bison, and people riding horses, and people waving flags, and at some point there was a big boom and some flashing lights. It's a show, for sure. It's something to watch while you eat. The food is fine. You get a lot of it! This is a prix fixe menu, so I don't believe you can pick what you want. You get what you get and you don't throw a fit, basically. You get a whole game hen, for crying out loud. Contrary to what some people think, you are not forced to eat with your hands here. You are provided with forks and spoons. But the game hen is something that you can tuck into with your hands, if you wanted to. You also get soup (poured from the aforementioned foil-lined Tupperware pitcher), a biscuit, mashed potatoes, pulled pork, corn on the cob, and a dessert, which was some sort of vanilla and chocolate coconut cake. It's a lot of food. A beverage is included with the meal, but if you want an alcoholic beverage, then that's a separate charge. I got a glass of red wine, because there was no way that I was going through this experience completely sober. I am not the audience for Dolly Parton's Stampede, but I'm glad I visited. Before my visit, I talked to a friend who had fond memories of visiting this dinner theatre show with his family many times when he was younger.
