My experience at Olga's today was disappointing. I've been supporting this restaurant for years and it's our go to when we want a quick light bite to eat. Today we walked in and waited to be greeted and seated. We waited for exactly 7 minutes and staff literally acted as if my family of six was invisible! The wait staff were really young and maybe that's why we got less than stellar service but I feel like they should be trained to make eye contact and greet their customers that walk in the door. I stopped going here for a long time. The other day I decided to give it ago again. I had the large original salad with the bread. The salad was nice and crisp and I am now hooked on them again. Service was fine; girls were polite. My order was take out and it was ready in no time. My only down yet is the parking lot is full and sometimes hard to get in and out of and Ford rd. is so so busy. read more

Ok, I can honestly say I have never been a fan of Olga's. The last time I set foot into one was in the seventies. And that was enough for me to stay away. This past holiday season, we were out and about shopping on the friday before Christmas. Around 8:30pm it was time for a bite to eat. Lo and behold hubs spys this location and says let's give it a try. I succumbed and agreed. So, entering with an open mind set we're greeted with a ten minute wait to be seated. Hubs claims it was only 5 max, regardless there was'nt hardly anyone there.Why would a customer be standing and waiting so long? In addition there wasn't any acknowledgement of a customer being present from the staff. What happened to hello, someone will be right with you? The counter person checking out a customer totally ignored our presence even though we were maybe two feet from the counter. Then when the food arrived to the table. My order was wrong! The waiter that delivered was annoyed that I would not accept something I didn't order. Finally:the food, to me, continues to be bland and tasteless. I also find that Olga's remains pricey. The tab totalled out in the mid twenties for two. Just not my cup of tea! read more

I laugh whenever I think about this place. The reason for my rating is that of the staff, they are always a little slow when it comes to your order. My friends and I always like getting the unlimited soup and snackers and they take their sweet time bringing us the food. This is an ideal location for this Olga's Kitchen - I visited last Thursday and it was packed full of people! A restaurant being busy is never a problem or a bad sign for me, that just means their service is in high demand! We waited for about twenty minutes and our host placed us in the most perfect table after we asked to move away from the kitchen! Such excellent customer service that I just couldn't ignore! I was blown away with how tasty their Mandarin Chicken Salad is... I must come back and order again next week! read more

First time at the new Canton Olga's was for the Grub Crawl, which offered samples of the polenta over a bed of greens with a delicious balsamic dressing and tasty veggie twigs. That was enough to bring me back with a dining partner. I had the turkey pastrami with artichoke pesto sandwich, with a side of curly fries for $9. It was a delicious sandwich (though a little lite on the pastrami and pesto for my taste), and one I'd like to get again, but not at full retail price. Partner had the classic Olga's, super tasty but also up in the stratospheric price range, so the only way we would consider going back is with promo deals like BOGOs or heavy discounts. Two sandwiches and one soft drink for $24.40 out the door with tax and tip--um, I don't think so in this economy! Honestly, for the amount, the value of the meal fell short. Not on taste, but on portion size for sure. The gyro sandwich Olga's serves is available at other diners in the $6 and $7 price range, which is more appropriate for that sort of sandwich. As for ambience and décor, nice, but as others have pointed out, why not deal with the loudness--it's like a cafeteria with constant clanking and banging. Is it because they want faster table turnover? If not, then why not put sound absorbers in the corners on walls or do something? The decibel level is off the charts, and I can't think it's good for patrons', much less employees', long-term hearing. Does one of their small plates offer hearing aids?! The parking lot is not much fun either with itsy bitsy narrow spaces and super tight alleys for turning around. It's almost like that lot could use one of those flag mechanics like they have at the airport to guide planes in and out of gates! Olga's probably wanted that location to capture Ikea traffic, but the space on Canton Center and Cherry Hill by the old Farmer Jack's would have been much better as far as parking goes. It's a new and fun place for the time being. I wish them well (along with their new partners on that mini strip) and hope to be able to return there at some point. read more

First time to an Olga 's kitchen. I was expecting something COMPLETELY different. This is essentially a gyro soup and salad joint. The flat bread (Olgabread) is the real motivation behind everything. Make no mistake--the bread is incredible. The soup and salad were very good as was the bread pudding. However I am really knocking off points here because I was very disappointed here, something that rarely happens. I ordered their "signature sandwich" the Olga special. The menu states it has Olga bread and Olga sauce. It costs $8. I was very intrigued. It was a gyro. Just a plain old gyro. Granted the flat bread was the best I've ever had, but the rest of it was no different than a food truck and it was also the most expensive gyro I've ever had too. And it was not big at all. I was shocked when it came out. The Olgasauce? Just typical yogurt. So the food quality is good, the service is good, and the soups are great. But I feel very misled about what Olga 's kitchen is and am shocked that they would be so proud of a gyro. read more

I have to say, I've loved Olga's in general for quite some time now. But it is without doubt that I say this is the ONLY and I mean the ONLY restaurant in all of Canton that I get genuinely excited to spend my time at. The service is the absolute best I've received in my entire life. The staff is SO helpful, and friendly, and fast, and AMAZING at making you feel welcomed. Each time they go ABOVE AND BEYOND. I'm so happy every single time I leave this Olga's, big thank you to all the awesome people that work there! Bear with me, this is long but a doozie: We will never return to this Canton Olga's EVER. I've eaten here twice before and was disappointed both times. But an Olga sounded good tonight. I considered driving to the the Olga's at Westland Mall, and really wish I had. But with all the construction everywhere, I decided to give this place another try. I went with an open mind. I psyched myself up, telling myself I wouldn't let the loud music and noisy accoustics here get to me. After placing our order, I went to the restroom to wash my hands. They have a super-strong lavender scented Meyer's handsoap. When I used It I thought "oh how lovely." But then, I realized back at the table, that my hands reeked of lavender. I tried rubbing them on my napkin, and my pants, on my shirt, even through my hair trying to rid of that strong smell. Our food came, and and I had to suffer to eat an Olga sandwich and fries with my floral-scented hands. I returned to the restroom to rinse my hands under warm water for several minutes. I just couldn't get the stink off my hands. On the way back from the restroom, I discretely asked the manager if he had any Wet Naps. I figured that would rid of or mask the odor of strong lavender. He said, "No we don't but I can give you lots of napkins!" I explained that I tried napkins, and I can't get the strong soap odor off my hands. I asked if he had any lemons, and he kindly squoze a lemon into my hand, meanwhile I suggested he may want to consider switching soaps in the restroom. He looked at me squarely and said, "I get a lot of compliments on that soap." REALLY? We had a brief one-way discussion about strong scents being unwelcome during a meal and lavender does not appear on the menu does it? I returned to my table and had to finish my olga and fries with a fork! But here's the even better part. Two gentlemen were seated at the table next to ours. One asked about ordering two kids meals, and the server, Amber said, "No, you can't." He inquired, "you don't HAVE kids meals here?" Amber said, "We don't serve kids meals to adults." The customer said, "Oh, so I can't order two chicken strip meals to bring home to my kids?" Amber said, "yes, you can do that." When the order came out, the customer began to eat the two kids meals. He then asked Amber for some BBQ sauce. Amber (must have gotten livid and) called the manager over. He said something about the sauce, and Amber piped up sternly, "HE LIED!!" It was just a ridiculous sight to witness. Who cares if an adult orders two kids meals? It probably came to twelve bucks or so anyway. She was so insulting to this customer, I couldn't believe it. She and the manager just walked away. The management here does not care about their customers and it trickles down to the staff. It's a shame. Canton really wants to love their Olga's but you make it impossible. read more

Walked in and was completely ignored by the hostess and all servers that kept walking past us. It's Sunday night at 7 pm so it was not very busy. It would have been nice to even be acknowledged. Luckily there are many other options in this area so we ended up at Tom + Chee. read more

Wow! My friend and I have visited many Olga's, and this one was by FAR the best one yet! Service, food, prices, and cleanliness were all awesome! It was an upscale Olga's, and we appreciate that! I tried to go to the Laurel Park location near where I work first, but the line was out the door. Decided to try this location for the first time. When I first walked in, I was like - whoa - the music is way too loud in here. But I got seated quickly, and my server was pleasant and came quickly as well. I ordered my food, and literally within 5 minutes it was all there. I was really happy about that. The peasant soup was watery compared to other places, and it was in a teeny bowl. My friend said that you can get free refills, and can change the type of soup that you get, but I was not offered that. Also it only came with 3 snackers...other places give you a plate with almond butter. Was pleasantly surprised to find out that the Olga comes with fries or a salad. I got the salad - way overdressed... I can see how the parking lot would be a problem. I went at 1 pm on a Fri, so got a spot, but during crowded times it is probably not good. After eating at the new Olga's location I felt compelled to write a review. My boyfriend and I were super excited that an Olga's had been built right near our home in Canton as it is a restaurant we really enjoy going to. The first thing I noticed was that the menu was about half the menu of every other Olga's Kitchen. And with that said, they don't offer broccoli soup every day! Olga's signature broccoli soup is what so many people go there for and what I was most excited to eat and they didn't offer it! The menu didn't even have some of the most original olgas on there. However, I did ask our waitress about it and she said they would be able to make the one I wanted (the turkey club). I specified TWICE what I wanted on the sandwich and that I'd like a salad instead of fries after she gave me the option of one or the other. When our food arrived, after nearly 30 minutes of waiting, my sandwich was all wrong and I had fries instead of a salad... My boyfriend had ordered the mediterranean olga, they managed to give him the salad he asked for instead of fries yet half of what was supposed to be on the sandwich wasn't even there. Because the waitress did not come back to check on us ONE SINGLE TIME we had to wait, yet another 10 minutes, to try and flag her down to fix our order. After she had brought out the rest of what wasn't put on our sandwiches she asked my boyfriend "are you sure it wasn't on there?" ...Really? I mean, being that I had been a waitress myself, I thought at the LEAST she'd have the common sense to be generous and bring me out the side salad that I had originally wanted regardless of the fact they had mistakenly given me fries. Or even acknowledge the fact that we were upset and offer something in return! Chances are we will not be returning to this new Olga's location but hopefully this as well as the other reviews will help improve the service as well as expand the menu items to satisfy future customers. It's Olgas. I love Olgas food, however portions have gotten smaller over the years. I love the Olga snackers and the Olga bread. The snackers here are better than other locations. I am glad they brought back marinara for the snackers, too. I order the sesame Olga, but sometimes there is just too much sesame sauce. I love the combination of chicken and veggies in the sandwich. 4 stars because the sides are very small-very small salads and small sides for the fries. Desserts are pretty good, too. It was a bit comical ... the first salad "California Coast" I ordered is no longer available. I was told their menu is in transition. The 2nd seared yellow tuna salad which was featured on their feature menu was not available because they were out of the tuna! Then I got to dessert and ordered the cheese cake dessert from the dessert menu and was told that is no longer available. Hah! Also my husband and I thought it strange that they name their ordinary iceberg salad their "Olga Salad". Shouldn't your namesake salad be amazing? Our waitress (Malinda I think) was friendly but she would often get sidetracked such as taking our water glasses to refill but would then do something else before bringing them back 10 minutes later. So if you don't mind an ordinary iceberg lettuce salad, half the items no longer available that are on the menu, and the other half not available because the kitchen is out of the ingredient, then this is the place for you. 3/22/2014: Olga's Loredana sent me a private message back in June 2013 asking me to contact her back with my email address for resolution to my not so great experience there. I contacted her immediately with my email address and never heard back. I followed up with a 2nd reply and again never heard back. As a result, I am lowering my rating from a 3 star to a 1 star ... because their customer service all the way around stinks. read more

I only get to treat myself at an Olga's Kitchen when I'm visiting the Detroit area. The food is always good, but this time the original Olga, with super cheese, was the best I ever had. The meat was tender and tasty. The made fresh bread wrap was just the right consistency. The server was very good and even when she was busy, other staff members checked in on me. I am certainly going back to this location when I'm back in that area! read more

Let me start by saying how much I've always loved Olga's Kitchen. But this location seems to always have a problem with providing decent service and food that is hot and fresh. Our wait to sit down was minimal, but once we sat down, the real wait began. Very unusual for an Olga's to wait for a server to tend to your table. But today it seems we had a server that simply wasn't on the ball or new--either way, service was slow and painful. Salads And snackers took about 13 minutes to arrive from the time of order. Once our food arrived shortly thereafter, our Olga sandwiches were not even lukewarm, and the fries were cold. For sure these sat on the counter waiting while our server was busy explaining another customer's bill. I rejected my entire order and sent it back. My wife went ahead and ate hers without the fries. Another 10 minutes and my sandwich comes back with what was obvious to anyone was french-fries that had been re-introduced into the hot grease instead of making a fresh order. They were as hard as potato chips and so well done, that I couldn't believe her or the cook would serve them. Again, I complained, and she all but ignored my complaint by saying she would talk to the manager--who incidentally couldn't be bothered to come by our table and inquire about our experience. This isn't our first time we've had issues at this location, but it will definitely be our last. I usually drive bit further to the Westland Mall location where our experience has been much better. The server handed us our check even before she provided the dessert that we had ordered at the beginning of our meal which I found odd. In all, this visit was a trifecta of failures for this Olga's location. While the server tried to care, she just didn't seem to be the type that could. Otherwise a manager would have shown up at our table to inquire about the problems we encountered. We paid the bill and left, still leaving a 20% tip. For the amount you pay for a meal here, anything less than timely, hot, fresh, and made to order food is unacceptable. Get it together Olga's Kitchen. read more

I am hooked on the chicken shawarma no bun served over a house salad! I am not familiar with Olgas but it was close to my hotel on a recent visit. I enjoyed it so much that I ate the same meal twice during my weekend visit! The staff was friendly, the restaurant was clean and the food was great especially for the price! I would definitely recommend this location for anyone staying at the Hampton Inn in Canton. read more

Man I love me some Olga's. Every I come in to town this is definitely one of my stops. My only problem is is I can't choose between the original or the three cheese Olga. That's easily solved by getting them both though. This location is clean and the staff is friendly. Parking can be a little bit of a pain there's only a little bit upfront the rest of it's all the way in the back. Nothing that would steer you away from this location though. read more

Olga's has a good atmosphere; our waiter was very kind and friendly. The food was good as well. However the wait for our food was ridiculous. We waited about 20 mins for a salad, soup and fries. Once we got the fries they were lukewarm and not very tasty. We had ordered bread with the soup and got the snackers instead. First time I ordered, we were sent home with the wrong meal. Not even close to our meal. Figured, okay, people make mistakes. Ordered CURBSIDE tonight (a few months after the first incident) and NO ONE came to my car. I sat there for TEN MINUTES, watched a host open the door for guests, saw servers at their tables, no one acknowledged I was out there. Could I have gone in at that point and gotten my meal? Sure, but I didn't because of the principle. Don't offer curbside if people can't pay attention to it. Now they can throw my food away and eat the cost and I won't recommend this place to anyone. I understand being busy, that was not the issue. My issue was that the server never came back other than to deliver drinks. We didn't have silverware until after we got our food that got to our table cold. The manager and another server brought us food. She then proceeded to get snotty and rude when she didn't get the tip she thought she should have gotten. She tried to throw that she only makes $3 an hour in my face. Not only that but when I called to talk to the manager her friend at the front desk answered the phone and lied to me trying to claim he was a manager when I tried to explain what happened. I love Olga's and usually try and go frequently but if you are looking to do a carry out please do not choose this location. I've already had to return 3 times for incorrect carry out orders. The managers on staff are really apologetic about the errors or burnt food but the amount of time lost to get the correct food is truly an inconvenience. Now if you have the time to go into the restaurant and sit down k would recommend to do that. We rarely haves y problems when we go in and if I could solely base my review on the dining experience my review would be much higher. read more

Sad really. Avid loyal Olga fans here. Got a carry out today and they are majorly missing the boat on carry out. So disappointed to say the least for the money they charge. 1) One two ounce cup of almond butter for multiple orders of snackers. We had to pay extra to be told upon pick up "well our menu is changing because we are loosing money on breads". 2) Paper the sandwiches are wrapped in is the worst. The bread sticks to the paper and it turns into an experiment to get them out. 3) Broccoli soup thick as wall paper mud upon getting but by the time we were back to the office it was like water? Another experiment? 4) Bacon on sandwiches and tomatoes was like it was used first yesterday. 5) Fries are stuffed into a closed box, no venting...so by the time you get to them they are a soggy mess. I love Olga's & like others, was REALLY excited for one to be in the area that's not inside a mall. i called for a carry out order, & find out they don't have the fried chicken olga, the steak and cheese & also don't do snacker baskets! so we decided to just show up & get some orange cream coolers, & they were more like shakes instead of what their suppsted to be. As a former employee of Olga's Kitchen I know how they are supposted to be & also know that its just a mix u put in a machine. so I'm wondering if ALL Olga's will be like this one or if its just this particular one. if it is just this one, then it looks like i will be traveling to outer drive for my Olga's food, since this one doesn't even OFFER what my fiance and I usually order. I visited the new Olga's in Canton despite the so-so reviews because I am a huge fan of the other locations. I was pleasantly surprised by the new location. They have a bunch of new, fantastic looking items on their menu (although not everything from their old menu), including more ethnic choices. To respond to some of the other negative reviews, the portion of soup for both the bowl and the cup were generous, I'm not sure what other reviews were talking about. Yes the dish is shallow, but that doesn't mean it's small. Also, they may not have the snacker basket, but they have 2.99 orders of snackers, which included plenty of food. The price seemed comparable to what I have seen at other Olga's locations, maybe a little high because they included fries with the sandwiches. The bottom line is that I would definitely recommend this location if you like the traditional Olga's, or if you're looking for a twist on the same, old sandwich/wrap place. read more

Just got back from this pleasantly surprising experience at Olga's. This was by far the cleanest Olga's I've ever been to. Turns out this is a bit of an experiment (not the 'clean' part). They actually serve beer and wine here...and they don't skimp on the wine pour. The presentation of the sandwiches is actually quite impressive as well. It's more than 'slapped together'. I'm not the fondest of Olga's in general. So my rating is a bit biased. On an Olga's scale of 1 to 5. This is the only 5 around! read more

My wife and I had a recent experience at Olga's for which we were not pleased. Olga's showed concern by contacting us and treating us to a meal of which we could be very satisfied. Olga's is handily located across from Ikea, one of our favorite stores. The three of us agreed it was one of the best meals ever! The service was flawless, and the food delicious. We started with the Hummus Dip Snackers; the pita pieces were crisply toasted, and the hummus was very good. If you don't like garlic (or it doesn't like you), there is a small amount of garlic on them that can be easily brushed off. Two of us had the Chicken Shawarma Sandwich, but had them put Olgasauce on it, instead of the garlic yogurt sauce (not a fan of garlic, if you didn't figure that out already). The vegetarian in the group had their Three Cheese Sandwich, which she really liked. We all got a side of fries with our sandwiches, which were very tasty and a generous amount. Really, I shouldn't have ate so many, but they were so good. I left 4 on my plate so I could say I didn't eat them all. We were all stuffed, but couldn't resist ordering one Orange Cream Cooler for dessert to share. It's a creamscicle flavored shake, and the waitress was kind enough to serve it with 3 straws. It was plenty big for us to be happy with our third of the share. We have discovered nirvana; one of our favorite stores and now a newly favorite restaurant all within one block. My sister and I stopped in after some shopping nearby because I was really craving Olga's. We were seated pretty quickly and our waitress was friendly and efficient. I ordered an iced tea, and to my surprise they don't have sweetener (don't need to risk cancer anyway LOL) or sugar on the table, nor do the waiters bring it to you. No big deal in the end, decided to drink the tea au natural. We ordered the original snackers which were good, but they don't give you nearly enough of the cheese spread for all those snackers. For my main, had the Original Olga with curly fries and my sister had the Three Cheese Olga with curly fries. I asked for extra sauce for mine on the side, which I didn't get and had to ask the waitress again for it. My Olga was good, but not great. Meat was a little dry and they put the smallest amount of sauce on it possible. So glad I got the side of sauce. Fries were nice and hot. My sister's Three Cheese was only somewhat melted, came with no tomato and again very little sauce. Very skimpy with the sauce here. Overall, the food wasn't bad at all. I've been to MUCH worse Olga locations. read more
