To the person below. Why would you order a salad at Olga's? That's like going to the Bahamas and staying in your hotel room. They are famous for the original and three cheese Olga. Olga's is hands down the best thing I've ever eaten. You sound like you are the type of person who would pretty much complain about anything if given the chance. You don't even have an issue with their service, your problem was that they ran out of several things. Guess what, sometimes that happens, get over it. I hope no one reading these reviews passes on a great restaurant because of a a whiny person like they lady below, who by the way is from Utah, the land of all things creepy, so go figure. read more

Very happy to see they brought back some items on the menu like the three cheese bites. The staff is very kind and the food is not that expensive. The Olga bread and Turkey club was good, even though they didn't listen when I asked for no tomatoes and they ended up giving our starter to another table. (Waiter ignored the pile of croutons on the table, when he asked "Do you need anything else".) We didn't have coupons and bill was over priced for quality received. read more

My sister and I stopped in after some shopping nearby because I was really craving Olga's. We were seated pretty quickly and our waitress was friendly and efficient. I ordered an iced tea, and to my surprise they don't have sweetener (don't need to risk cancer anyway LOL) or sugar on the table, nor do the waiters bring it to you. No big deal in the end, decided to drink the tea au natural. We ordered the original snackers which were good, but they don't give you nearly enough of the cheese spread for all those snackers. For my main, had the Original Olga with curly fries and my sister had the Three Cheese Olga with curly fries. I asked for extra sauce for mine on the side, which I didn't get and had to ask the waitress again for it. My Olga was good, but not great. Meat was a little dry and they put the smallest amount of sauce on it possible. So glad I got the side of sauce. Fries were nice and hot. My sister's Three Cheese was only somewhat melted, came with no tomato and again very little sauce. Very skimpy with the sauce here. Overall, the food wasn't bad at all. My niece and I just had lunch here this past Saturday and I was so excited that they put an Olga's in Canton. I couldn't wait to eat here. Inside the restaurant, you'll see that Olga's is trying to change their image to more of an upscale look (they also serve beer and wine which is weird to me). It was nice to look at but didn't really give you that family vibe that other older Olga's locations gave you. The staff was friendly. The manager was walking around the restaurant but was paying more attention to the cleanliness of the floor then the actual food that was coming out. At other Olga's locations you can order just a sandwich by its self but at this location you must get either a salad or fries. My niece got fries and I got a salad that went along with our grilled chicken pitas. We also ordered snackers and orange creme coolers. First our orange creme coolers came out, (by the way, they don't offer it on the menu), and it was by far the most disgusting thing I've ever drank. It didn't even taste like orange at all. All you could taste was the creme. I felt like I was drinking straight out of a heavy whipping cream container. I was only able to drink a quarter of it. Then we got our snackers. The snackers weren't bad. They were nice and hot. Then our food came out. My salad that came with my pita was drenched in dressing. It was the soggiest salad that I've ever had and my niece's french fries were rock hard and stale. So I didn't even eat that. The pita was the most disappointing item. Olga's is known for having this amazing pita bread that has a bit of sweetness to it and this did not. The pita bread tasted like regular pita bread. Definitely not the trademark pita bread that Olga's usually has. I was very bummed that this Olga's was so different. Their menu was severely different and their food was just plan crappy. If I have a craving for Olga's again, I'll be going to the Westland location or the Novi/Wixom locations. I really wouldn't recommend this location to anyone. If you want true Olga's food, go to another location that's been there for more then two years. read more

Like most other reviewers, I was super excited to see an Olgas being built in Canton. I've also grown up eating Olgas my whole life and is honestly one of my favorite places. However, the Canton Olgas has been a slight disappointment. I've noticed recently even at the mall locations that they are trying to appear more "high class" and this new location in Canton just takes the cake. Although I can understand updating the decor to be more modern and contemporary and I honestly find the interior design of the Canton location to be beautiful, I don't understand why they feel the need to offer a different menu at this location. The menu is very, very limited. Thank goodness my two favorite Olgas (3-cheese and Original) are still offered, but all of my boyfriend's favorites are not offered at this location. They've also redesigned their menu prices specifically for this location. The "small plates" and desserts are a reasonable $2.99 each, but I cannot believe they charge $6.99 for a bowl of soup and snackers. They've also raised the price on their sandwiches and they include fries. If you want something subbed for the fries there is an up-charge. To give you an example of how outrageous their prices are at this location, yesterday I ordered carry-out which was almost $17 just for myself! I ordered bowl of soup with snackers (I thought you still got the option of snackers or Olgas bread with soup, didn't realize it was $7 for this combo now) and a 3-cheese Olga. Then to my surprise, the soup I received was more like a "cup" size, hardly 1/2 of the plastic carry-out bowl was filled, adding to my disappointment and guilt over spending so much on a carry-out dinner for myself. One other thing I'd like to mention in case someone from Olgas reads this review....bring back the old spinach pies! The new redesigned triangle spinach pies are terrible and all you get is a bunch of filo dough with not enough filling. I much prefer the old square style. I'll probably go to this Olgas on occasion if I have a craving, but because of their limited, changed and high priced menu I probably won't be going as much as I originally thought I would. read more

Sadly, I have had the same experience at this Olga's as many of you: the food is only okay, it is overpriced, there is a lack of of parking (although there is more behind the restaurant), and the restaurant is in a poor location on Ford Road. With regard to the food, my boyfriend and I have been here twice and the first time I was told that the restaurant "could" make my favorite Fried Chicken Olga, but they "weren't supposed to." Since that was the case, and I was willing to give the "new" Olga's a try, I ordered a Thai beef sandwich; the flavor was okay but the meat was very chewy, to the point that I did not bother to finish the sandwich. My boyfriend ordered the original Olga, and was pleased, although he was disappointed that the restaurant no longer offers a Chicken Caesar salad. We also ordered the fried zucchini, but were completely underwhelmed; it lacked flavor on all levels. On our second visit, I simply ordered the soup, salad and snacker combination; that lunch was fine. We do enjoy their bread pudding dessert, the chocolate chip especially. Prices were high, but prices at Olga's have always been high for what you get. Overall, this new location has an interesting concept but I think an original Olga restaurant would do much better in Canton. What a disaster. We were told the manager sent a few servers home early so there were two for the entire restaurant. One of them was overwhelmed. He was trying his hardest and getting yelled at by his boss where all the customers could hear. The wait time was long the manager was the rudest I have ever seen. I would have walked off the job if anyone would have talked to me like that. She really need to find a different line of work. I was skeptical about visiting this location after reading the various reviews. While I have to agree with the complaints about the noise level and parking situation, I have to disagree with the reviews on the service. My family of 4 came here last week. We were greeted with a door opening and a smile by the host.. I believe her name was Sara. She escorted us to a booth and opened each of our menus and set them in front of us.. it was a nice touch. She proceeded to tell us that our server Amy would be with us shortly and if we needed anything in the meantime she would be up by the door and "don't hesitate to ask!" We don't go out to eat very frequently, but I was pleasantly surprised by the courteousness of this young woman. Amy, our server, was wonderful as well. She brought everything out in a very timely manner and never let our beverages get less than half full without offering a refill. She also brought out to-go containers and a bag so we could take her leftovers home. The manager Kris checked on us to make sure everything was up to par and thanked us for coming in. The host opened the door for us as we left and thanked us for coming in as well. Overall I am very happy with my experience, and my family will absolutely be returning to this location. I love Olga's, but this was one of the worst meals I've bad at a restaurant in a very long time. My steak and cheese was undercooked. The steak was bloody and the cheese was unmelted. Just a slice thrown on top. The pita was hard and stale tasting. My basket of snackers was awful too. Way too overcooked. I asked to have my steak and cheese heated up a bit to melt the cheese a bit, and they added onions to it for some reason. After sending it back AGAIN, the food was nuked. The wait staff was horrible too. The girl saw me sitting there waiting for my bill, yet never came over. I was the only person sitting in her section. She was also very rude and seemed like she had an attitude about everything. I will never to back here again. read more

Went to dinner we were seated at a dirty table, our waitress was good. Waited over 25 minutes for her to come and take our bill to pay, so instead we just went up to the front to pay and and another waitress walked in from outside and said that I needed my waitress to take my bill and when I said that we have been waiting and she has not come back, she then rolled her eyes and said "then do whatever you want" I really wish I would have gotten her name, but I didn't (she was a blonde) I did get a little loud and the lady at the register never apologized for her employees behavior. I love Olga's and the food they serve, but the service (mainly the hostess) was mediocre at best. Waited 10 minutes to get my online order as she seated people dining in without even addressing us and cleaning off tables while we stood literally on the counter waiting for food. This review is based on not appropriately accommodating families. I went out to lunch with my 20 month old son, we had an appointment in the area before lunch and wouldn't have made it home to eat in time, so we stopped in for lunch as my son loves Olga's mac and cheese. Food and service were great (our waitress was Jaime and it was her first day, she did great). The problem we had was that all 3 highchairs were being used so they brought us a booster seat to use which should have been no problem.Unfortunately, all of their booster seats had broken belts (I asked for a new one when I noticed it was broken and this is what I was told). Well in case anyone doesn't know a 20 month old rarely will sit still unless buckled in. My son wasn't trying to run around, just stand on the booth to look around. Our lunch turned into him sitting on my lap eating, so I could keep him seated and me packing up my lunch to go and eat at home. Olga's if you're reading this you need to fix the buckles on your booster seats or replace the seats. It is both a convenience for a parent as well as a safety issue if a child were to fall out of the booth because they weren't buckled in. read more

I have been to this location several times. Every time we go there, we get very bad service. I am not sure if they are just slow or maybe we get a new waiter every time. This time, it took 10 minutes to get drinks order. Then another 10 minutes to get food order. OK, then food came out pretty quick so this part was good. My husband and I ordered unlimited Soup & Salad and finished. We wanted to our refill, so waited to the waiter came back for 10 minutes...15 minutes...20 minutes....we waited and waited. The waiter never came back and checked on us! We were trying to get his attention but didn't even paying attention and just talking to other stafft there. It didn't seem like it was busy at all in the restaurant either. He finally came back and we said we would like more soup, he started saying something about their screen to bring our food in order so he can't bring them right away. It didn't make sense at all! He kind of sensed we were getting frustrated but still no apology. We were just trying to have a nice family dinner together but put us in totally unsatisfied mood that night. If you pay the same for a to-go order, shouldn't the quality and quantity be the same? Not here. Recently visited this Olgas twice...once in-house the other to go. What a huge disappointing difference! In-house peasant soup came full to the brim, snackers warm, and large container of their special cheese. Next visit to go, ordered kids' meal with regular Olga (definitely did not look like picture...one piece of meat) no fruit slices or drink; also a regular Olga, peasant soup cup, and snacker basket. Bill came to almost $30 with tip. Only live 2 miles down the road. Everything was cold. Soup container half full, regular Olga had two skimpy pieces of meat, and literally less than a teaspoon of the cheese for the snackers. Like too many places, they know you won't find out until you get home. Unfortunately due to medical reasons, trying to find good, reliable to-go restaurants...this is not one in our books, sorry. read more

Visited Olga's Canton today, and was pleasantly surprised! Last trip there was just so-so, but today my daughter and I walked into a warm greeting by the manager, "David", seated and served immediately. Food was perfect, service was better, and the atmosphere was the best. The place had a good vibe about it....friendly, servers who actually enjoyed being there...better service than most 5 star restaurants I've been to. She never came back to check on us once our food was brought out. Refilled our drinks once and never asked us again. We had coupon for unlimited snackers and had to ask every time if we wanted more. Everytime we order out my husband's olga is made wrong (even when we order in) So frustrating!!! We order out to make things quick and easy and it's not like it's a hard sandwich to make. Literally 3 things on it, nothing special. And then by the time they finally get his right my olga is cold! I just had lunch at the new Canton Olga's with a friend and it was a wonderful experience. The hostess, the waitress and entire staff was prompt, knowledgeable & courteous. The food was delicious. It was a generous portion on the bowl of soup & my sandwich was hot & fresh. I had no problem parking either. I liked the decor and didn't think it was "too" loud. From the rude managers to the loud music i can say that I will not go back there. Even though there was only one family in front of us there was a host standing there with a clipboard and was just about to get my name when a women who said her name was chris or christine(i'm guessing one of the managers from her business attire) snatched it out her hand told her to go clean off tables then took my name down. After about 10 minutes my name was called by that women and she practically shoved the menu's into the hostess hand and told her to seat us. I was a manager at a cafe for 20 years and I just do not appreciate people like her abusing the fact that she is in charge, further more the hostess seemed to be doing nothing wrong but after sitting at a table next to the door seeing how rude the women was to her every time it made me want to just get up and leave. I am not sure who she is but she doesnt have very good people skills. If she is a manager she needs to be in the back away from the public. read more

First off, my family loves to eat at Olgas. We have been regular patrons at the location in Westland Mall since the 80s. This new location on Ford Rd is a bit closer to home, so we thought we would try it. The first thing of note was the blaring techo style music. It was so loud that it was impossible to carry on a conversation. I asked about turning it down and the waitress, who could barely hear me said it was so loud because it was echoing off the ceiling. I told her I didn't care *why* it was so loud, I just wanted it turned down a bit. She said she would send the manager over since she wasn't allowed to do this, which was fine. However, he never came. Also, the menu is different. My wife normally splits a snacker basket ($4.59 at the mall Olgas) with my daughter. Come to find out they only have half-size baskets for $2.99. So, it took $5.98 to get the same amount of food as the Olgas in the mall. I ordered the Original Olga sandwich. When it came, it was cold and the fries were cold. Also, no Olga sauce was on the sandwich, so I had to flag down the waitress and wait to have everything remedied. After waiting a *long* time (the rest of my family was done and waiting by the time my new food arrived), I found, mixed in with the new warm (but still not hot) fries were a bunch of super hard/chewy fries that seemed to be super-stale leftovers from the Paleocene period. Ugh. The Iced Tea and Lemonade each had only 2 or 3 ice cubes and were lukewarm. Had to ask the waitress for a cup of ice to fix. Decor is neat and contemporary/modern. The place looks very nice - no complaints with that at all. Parking lot is quite small and had to navigate for about five minutes as people were trying to jam in and get out at the same time with not much room. Described above is our second trip - I didn't think it was fair to rate our first visit (which was no better) because it was only their second day. However, both times, the music was *way* too loud and apparently, they must think it is a good idea to do this for some reason - for me it was a *constant* irritation and I couldn't wait to get out of there. We will stick to the Olgas in the mall. This one has been unsatisfactory after two tries. read more

My husband and I ate at your restaurant today. The food and service were great. The food was pricey for what you got though. This is the second time that we got sat in the booth with the yellow golden leaves. Next time, we will get asked to move. This booth is totally trashed and full of grease and dirt stains and marks all over the fabric. You might want to go and take a look at it! It is disgusting and it makes me lose my appetite! The other booths looked dirty too. Maybe you might want to clean the fabric or replace it. Also, every time I come to your restaurant, it looks like no one has vacuumed the black front mat in over a month. It is right when you walk in by the door. Today, there were several food items on the floor and no one cleaned it up. Before you seat someone, you might want to use a broom and sweep up the area once in a while. There was probably a child there earlier. I just question the cleanliness of the kitchen since the dining room was not clean. My husband and I were there about 4:45 pm today. We ordered a chicken swarma sandwich and small salad plus an original Olga with a small salad and spinach pie. We both had water. Next time, we will try another Olga Restaurant. i am an olgas lover but i will NEVER go to this location again. it was the worst food..no ch balls or white bean chicken chili and you cant get a small olga salad... Absolutely. Awful. I would be classified insane thinking that each time I go back it will either improve or we'll finally get a waiter who doesn't have their head up their... You know what. First, no greeting... The customer service at this location is atrocious. I'm not exaggerating. A complete joke as if we're scum walking in their front door. After waiting for over 10 minutes to be seated as we we're about to leave, we're finally greeted and sat at a dirty booth, which was so sticky we asked to be wiped down again. No greeting such as "welcome to Olga's!" It was just a what can I get you to drink. Which finally came 10 minutes later. At this point I was ready to leave but my partner loves snackers, which were cold, tasted as if they sat out for an hour and barely any seasoning... Not to mention the splat of almond cheese that looked as if it were the size if a teaspoon. Then the food... Or should I say the second round of appetizers. WHAT a joke!!!! I actually had to request more chicken on my sandwich, and was disgusted with how cold it was. I took one bite and decided I was done. Absolutely done with this location. Outrageously expensive for what you can essentially get at a Coney Island... For half the price and double the food. I don't even want the free coupon they offer for a bad review.
