    Chicken parmigiana

I have been meaning to go back to Olio since a brunch party I attended many years ago, and finally I made it! This quaint restaurant is inviting, and the space seems clearly steeped in some local history, at least the building. The service did a nice job, continually cleaning plates and making sure everything went well. It wasn't too loud considering it's a small space, and the waiter was friendly and did a good job helping get us out of there as we had a show to catch. Now on to the food. Let me preface this by saying that I cook my own Italian food, so my standard is always high. We started with drinks, and I enjoyed the Basil Martini, though as suggested by the waiter, it wasn't very sweet. It had the feel of a pizza in a glass, which might be more bad than good. We then shared the pork bell appetizer, which were three small 2-3 inch cuts of pork belly, deep fried. On top were an assortment of pickled things including cabbage, cucumbers, and more. Each bite of this was two forkfulls of fatty, juicy, and perfectly fried porkbelly. They were my star. For my main dish, I had the chicken parmigiana with cavatelli in sauce. Now, I will say that cavatelli isn't my favorite type of pasta, but made in-house always enhances things. In this case, I let me brother finish off my pasta. The chicken parm was cooked well, had great flavor, and was overall good. A nice crispy cutlet, with just the right amount of 'stuff' on top. This isn't a 5 star because I don't think anything caught my attention to go back immediately for another go at it. But, I will go back, and I will try some other things and update to a five star after another visit where I believe there is the possibility to be more impressed by their food. So, to be continued!

Tangerine beef and wasabi mashed potatoes

Steve knocked it out of the park---AGAIN. The flat iron streak was perfectly cooked and the wasabi mashed potatoes were amazing don't forget the bread pudding and ricotta donuts

Once again Olio continues to perform to a higher expectation in culinary food for Valentines Day.

Once again Olio (Chef Steve) and his amazing staff brought a culinary delight to Valentine's Day with some great specials and a few great cocktails. Thank you ‼

    Cinnamon French Toast

Very good hidden gem in Stamford. Do NOT sleep on the bacon Bloody Mary. It was truly the best bacon I've ever had! Liked the French toast but would want more than 5 banana slices on top. The garnish didn't need strawberries and blueberries since it was a banana rum flavor. Excellent, but could be tweaked. Great service and awesome menu. Will definitely be back.

Never disappoints. Still my favorite restaurant in CT. The pork chop Scarpiello is my go to. My husband always tries something new and it's alway good.

Can't say enough wonderful things about this restaurant. My husband and I went there for the first time to celebrate our 26th Anniversary. The food was scrumptious, the owner was super wonderful and the atmosphere was delightful. Can't wait to go back!

Oh my, this restaurant is GOOD!! We were exploring the are and once I saw the breakfast options on Yelp, I knew it was a must. I was impressed with the quality of the meal, the presentation and artistic flare as well as the very attentive staff! Will be back!

They had such fun cocktails--we all ordered different ones to try, and none of them disappointed. The food was 10/10 and the service was impeccable. We shared the fried mushrooms, spicy rigatoni, and tuna tartare as appetizers- all beyond good. For entrées, we ordered the short rib, pork chop, duck, scallops, and tagliatelle pasta and every dish impressed us. Kyle was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and gave amazing recommendations. Such a great experience--we will definitely be returning!!

What was most frustrating was the complete lack of management oversight--both the waitress and manager clearly saw what was happening, yet neither took any meaningful action. No attempt was made to address the disruptive guests, relocate us, or even acknowledge the situation with an apology. This level of inattentiveness and disregard for guest experience reflects very poorly on the service standards. The food was ok, but it wasn't nearly good enough to justify the high prices or make up for the poor service and lack of concern for our dining experience. We will not be returning, nor will we ever recommend.

What ties them all together is quality. Every dish on the menu at Rosie is great with seasonal specials that everyone should try when offered. My two favorites are the Fillet Mignon and Beef Brisket Tacos both of which I've ordered and eaten more times than I care to admit. For non-meat eaters, Rosie also has delicious options on the menu for vegetarians and vegans; and you don't have to be either to recognize and enjoy delicious food without meat like the desserts; speaking of which Rosie is known for its gigantic muffins. When dining-in, I highly recommend saving room for a muffin or if you're too full at the end of your meal, order one or a few to-go. The banana walnut muffin is insanely good! Regarding ambiance, the restaurant is small, casual and quaint -- a place you'd expect to see in a small New England town that's also rated the best place to live in Connecticut. During the Spring, Summer and Fall months, you can dine outdoors with your fur babies. New Canaan is a dog-friendly town and the people and service at Rosie are great too. There's street parking in front and a public lot just around the corner from the restaurant.

I wish I could spell his name without butchering it. I ordered the fish taco and it was delicious. We also had the eggplant fries, bang bang shrimp, and the banana nut oat crunch muffin, which was excellent. We ordered some other food like an omelet, and the tostada crunch wrap. I can't say anything bad about the food here. What I will say, though, is that this was a bit pricey for a brunch spot. $15 for a small glass of lavender mimosas ... yeah, definitely overpriced, but again, the food and friendly staff made up for that. My sister and I agreed we would be back. Oh, and the inside isn't too big but could use a bit of personality. It wasn't the most appealing, but honestly, this place is about the food.
