Outdoor seating - pistachio vanilla matcha

My favorite breakfast spot in mission! The lox bagel and breakfast burrito are phenomenal. Everytime I visit San Diego I'm here every morning. Love the pistachio vanilla matcha too. The service here is great, quick and friendly! Indoor and outdoor seating always a spot and the vibe is so cute.

Grabbed a croissant and a caramel latte. Both were good. Service was friendly and helpful. Ambiance was pretty chill and walking distance to the ocean. Definitely will be back.

This spot is known for a quick casual breakfast, but our experience this morning was not the most pleasant. The servers were very kind, however the food was disappointing. We waited quite a bit for our food, & when it came out I was in disbelief with the wrap. * Turkey Wrap - 3/10 (THERE WAS NO TURKEY. it was ONLY filled with lettuce, a few pieces of tomato, & one piece of turkey. i thought it was a joke as i can make this at home but even better. do not get the turkey wrap here or else you will just be eating lettuce. the tomato soup also tasted like canned tomato soup with a few pieces of croutons. i was absolutely disappointed with my meal) * Cousin's Favorite Scramble - 7.5/10 (it was an average scramble. the ingredients were fresh. the hash-browns were seasoned well, but we wish they were more crispy. the portion on this one was good)

This was definitely one of the most disappointing restaurant reviews I have left in a long time. There was so much hype about this restaurant and the outdoor seating was filled when we got here, so we expected a really great meal. Unfortunately, neither the food nor the service was very memorable. We went with scrambles and while it was fine, the hashbrowns were way too greasy. The bread that was served with it was SO HARD that you couldn't even bite into it. I actually could not break it with tapping it on the table AND they advertise that they have a bakery portion across the street. Hopefully the bread wasn't their's because it was awful. There's just so many better places in the neighborhood, so I'd hold on visiting again.

First time here and this place will for sure be moving to the top of my brunch list. Not because it's some fancy, "want to be Instagrammed" spot but rather because it's exactly not that. It's humble, with local vibes, delicious food and super friendly staff. Everyone loved what they ordered. The hash browns were something special for me though. You can just really taste the quality ingredients. Seating is somewhat limited, especially for parties bigger than 4. But you can get to go and eat on the beach. Parking is going to be the major issue for many as this is right on the strand between PB and Mission Beach but I'd encourage people to park at the ends somewhere in either and enjoy a lovely walk on the boardwalk to and from the restaurant. Definitely can't wait to come back.

Amazing chorizo burrito, service took 5-8 mins. Not too busy great food and it was nice inside

Was craving an omelette after a swim, found on Yelp and mobile ordered from their website. Parking at this location can be tricky but there is public parking for Mission Bay 2 blocks past it. Staff were friendly and bagging my order when it arrived, I added a black cold brew which they get from a local coffee toaster, it was good. I ordered the Popeye Scramble and Yogurt and Fruit bowl which I ate later, it was delicious. The scramble is not quite an omelette and it works. I tend to like my eggs fully cooked (not runny), this was closer to Medium-Well/Well Done. Didn't see ingredients but a traditional greek omelette (spinach, tomato, feta, olives optional) would have been a home-run. I don't eat hash browns these days but I did sample these, a mix of crispy on top and cooked/soft in the middle, nice taste. The sour dough toast was a hockey puck, I suspect it was stale before it went in the toaster (no points deducted). Very cute cafe with outdoor seating between PB and MB - highly recommend.

    Banana bread latte

The location is a block away from the beach. I arrived this past Friday and well... got a parking ticket for street sweeping.. so fyi to anyone wanting to visit on Tuesday and Fridays 8-10am is a disaster to find parking as the whole street applies to this. Anyways, the viral banana bread latte I thought would be house made syrup but unfortunately it was the standard syrups torani. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. I got a bagel with cream cheese, eggs and sausage. Lost a point because of the syrup and the parking situation. The place was busy at 8am on Friday so prepare so that on any given time.

Find parking for a Sunday morning can be a little challenging but worth it! You order first then you find a table and they bring the orders out by name. We were luck enough to get a table in by the glass outside. We had the machaca burrito and the cinnamon French toast. The burrito was super filling. The French toast also good but not too sweet.

    Corned Beef Reuben

This was a cozy spot that had outdoor seating. The menu had a number of different options ranging from sandwiches to traditional breakfast items to baked goods. The ordering was done at the counter, and the food was delivered when ready. I had the corned beef Reuben ($15.25) which was a special on the day I attended. It was a traditional Reuben with their homemade 1000 island dressing and artisan sourdough bread. I also opted for the macaroni salad as the side given. That was alright. It was a little plain for me. The Reuben on the other hand was very tasty. It was grilled perfectly and there was plenty of filling. The corned beef was tender, and the homemade dressing was great. It was just the right amount as well. Will I go back? Yes.

We were brought here by locals and now I understand why! This place is great. We came here for brunch and loved it. You wait in line to order and find available seating. They have outdoor and indoor seating, but overall it's not a huge place. People usually are coming and going fairly quickly though. We tried the Cinnamon Roll French Toast and the Breakfast Quesadilla. Both were so delicious! Would get them again no doubt! They also have a great coffee menu, too. Really enjoyed the vibe here! It's only 1 block off of Mission Beach which is perfect for a post-brunch walk or beach day. Definitely add Olive Cafe to your list!

    Stella Z.

Great place for a quick breakfast and it's like a 2 min walk from the beach. Despite them being super busy on the weekend their service is super fast. My goto is their chicken pesto panini with their tomato soup and I finish it every time. They also have plenty of breakfast items that are super tasty.

Finally made my way to Olive Cafe to try the viral banana bread latte and it was absolutely worth the hype. I came in on a Sunday around 11 and there was no line. The staff were so sweet and i loved the aesthetic of the cafe - super authentic, colorful, and cute. The banana bread latte was insanely delicious and so banana forward. The espresso paired nicely with the flavor. Definitely going to be coming back for this latte and the other food/pastries!

It's a big place with multiple indoor/outdoor seating options. Cute. We ate there every morning for breakfast because it's the best option nearby and opens early. It has baked goods, all do the coffee options, a full bar that opens later in the day, and good prepared meals. Didn't like the waffle as much as I thought I would, maybe 4 or 5 on the star scale. The fruit, whipped cream, and syrup for it were solid. My friends tried chai bowls, fresh fruit, banana bread, breakfast burritos, and other pastries if not enjoying the (delicious!!!) turkey sandwich. I did find myself wishing there were fresh juice options. A fresh OJ or green juice would have hit the spot and I couldn't find plain fresh squeezed I the area. I'm just extremely disappointed with how poor my experience was today because I had only super positive experiences previously and was looking forward to dining there this morning after sometime away, but holy hell ....today's experience has been so profoundly bad. Firstly, my husband ordered two breakfast burritos - one with bacon and the other with bacon on the side. I'll chalk this one up to miscommunication, but they put bacon in one, and bacon in the other too - and then added bacon on the side to the other and charged us $5.50 for the extra bacon. Again, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt here and will be sure to communicate explicitly next time. They kindly made me a new one, but the new one had potatoes that weren't cooked thoroughly (likely to rush the food to me, so I acknowledge the difficulty here), however there was hardly any avocado. I literally had to complain again because I didn't believe there was any avocado at all. I wouldn't be as pissed if this weren't an EIGHTEEN DOLLAR breakfast burrito. Lastly, the coffee lids don't fit on the cups. We tried to put one on and ended up spilling the entire coffee. I chalked this up to an accident on our part, however another patron who observed our incident said "their lids don't fit the cup, right??" And I was like "oh so it wasn't just us??" And she was like "no, I almost spilled mine all over too." This random patron encouraged us to ask for a new cup of coffee as a result (thanks, random patron!). The Molly's team did kindly make us a new (albeit quite bitter) drink, which I appreciate. However, the lid was still an issue - it would spill out of the cup all over the rim between the cup and the lid when I'd try to take a sip, so I took off the lid entirely, but then was stuck with dealing with spills while walking around - I had to move at a snail's pace to prevent spills altogether. This was easier to deal with random leakage around the entire cup every time I'd sip with the lid on. Ultimately It was just a lose-lose with the ill fitting lid situation. All this to say - Molly's Team, yall were fantastic just a month ago. What happened? I understand food and services in the beach area stuff are often expensive and rarely good, but you guys are *too* expensive for this poor of service and quality. Two stars because at least the folks there are generally nice.

The food has that made-from-scratch feel to it, and is always fresh and high quality. I've had breakfast and lunch here and haven't left a crumb behind either time. I loved the waffle with berries for breakfast, and the veggie sandwich at lunch time. I also LOVED the drink menu-- had the best matcha latte with housemade syrup (passionfruit I think?) and a really delicious old fashioned caramel latte. Some people might consider the downside of a place like this to be the small kitchen, as it can impact wait times and the kitchen's ability to accommodate specific requests. However!! I think this just makes the experience more special-- having to slow down and savor a dining experience instead of rushing from place to place is truly a treat. Although not always speedy necessarily, I've had amazing service every time I've visited here. On one occasion we had longer wait times for our food and were treated with a delicious cake at the end of our meal. On another, we had a very minor snafu happen where a server was adjusting an umbrella and accidentally knocked something over on the table next to us-- the staff comped all of our meals out of consideration which was just so generous and understanding. Overall I can't recommend this place enough! They have so many fun menus and specials. I can't wait to try their Peasant night in a few weeks. Grateful to have this spot in the neighborhood!

I rarely leave critical reviews for small independent spots, but our experience here went well past…read morea typical busy brunch delay. We were seated in 15 minutes, ordered within 10, and then waited a full hour for two entrees. When a kitchen has a strict "no substitutions" policy under the premise that it keeps order tickets moving efficiently, making customers wait 60 minutes for a standard breakfast defeats the entire purpose. They have this hatch chili cheddar biscuit that is not included in any of the meals. It would have been an amazing substitute as a Benedict base and a completely low effort switch but they were staunch on their no substitution policy. Fine, whatever. But it definitely added to the annoyance of waiting over an hour for my food. When our food finally arrived, we had crossed well past normal hunger into pure metabolic refuel, scarfing everything down in under ten minutes. My husband stood up to pay the check. Our table was right next to the register so he literally just needed to stand up and take a step towards the register. Our server was working the register. She smiled and asked him, "Were you seated inside or outside?" After a brief pause to collect his composure he simply answered, "Inside" and nodded towards the table next to them. She unapologetically nodded and rung him up and the terminal prompted an $11 tip on a $51 (pretax) bill. As we were driving home my husband said, "I didn't want to say anything while we were there because I know the entire reason we were eating was because you needed to take your meds, but right before you took them I watched our waiter consolidate multiple partially used, open water carafes from bussed tables into a single used carafe and immediately set it out for another table without so much as wiping down the neck or exterior." Thanks for watching out, Dear. Sigh... They couldn't even remember who we were even though they took our order and then stood next to us for an hour as we slowly went from hungry to ravenous. There is no way I trust them to notice if a customer does anything weird like drink directly out of a carafe or cough/sneeze all over one. If you don't mind an hour-long wait for eggs you aren't allowed to tweak, the setting is cute. But between the complete operational gridlock and the recycled table water, we won't be back. I can't give an honest review of the food. I was past the point of being so hungry that everything tastes amazing and was firmly in the territory of "So hungry I'm just shoveling food down my gullet without tasting it". Food was inhaled in like 5 minutes. I think it was good.
