We ordered the breakfast burrito with bacon and the breakfast sandwich on a croissant. Inside the breakfast burrito was scrambled eggs, has browns, black beans, and cheese in a soft flour tortilla. It came with a side of salsa. The breakfast burrito was delicious! I would have loved avocado with it. The salsa added a great flavor to the burrito. The breakfast sandwich on the croissant was more plain and bland. It needed some aioli or sauce on it. The croissant was fluffy and soft. We would order the burrito again because we really liked it! Stopped here for brunch one morning as it was near our resort and everything was fresh and delicious. I got the chicken quesadilla and my friend got the lox bagel and we enjoyed both. Little update for yall the GM remade my bagel to standard. However he insisted on "educating" me on how to order a bagel. He said they double toast their bagel every time so that's how it looks if some orders it double toast. I'm sorry but any other bagel place, correct me if I'm wrong, but does double toast mean BURNT? Then he wanted to educate me on how much cream cheese establishments use. I do not care sir, I would like a quality bagel. THEN he told me that I needed to call ahead for a BAGEL! If you're in the Mission Beach area, this place is a must! It's a cute spot with a small indoor area, but a solid outdoor area. It's counter service, so I'd recommend grabbing a spot under an umbrella while waiting for your food to be ready. The breakfast burritos are truly unreal. Something about the combination of flavors was just perfect. You could really tell that the ingredients were high quality and cooked nicely. The inside was a charming older dining room. We actually opted for the patio, which was basic but nice. The service was friendly. I wasn't expecting ordering at the counter, and it was a bit hard to get helped due to how busy it was. The food, to me, was average. My coffee was rather strong and my parents didn't love their breakfast combos. They said they were just okay. My tuna melt was a bit different with the celery but I enjoyed it. I also got a cup of the Spicy Tomato Soup which I thought was worth the price. I don't know if I'd go back because of how many options are in the area, but it was fine. The location is easy to find, a few minutes from the beach or the bay on the east side. Standard breakfast items, drinks and coffee. The hook for this place is the location, the staff is friendly, menu is simple and there is seating on the outside to watch the foot traffic. We come here after paddle boarding for a couple of hours on the bay and we'll come back here because of the location. This place gets popular during the morning and brunch rush so getting there early is the key or be patient. This place hits the spot if you are looking for nutrition for breakfast or brunch and you get here early then you are in luck. The challenge is getting parking anywhere that is legal, especially on the weekends or during the summer. Parking near the beach gets impacted. As far as the food, it hits the spot and staff is friendly and the short order cooks are able to crank out the orders within 15 minutes so that is a plus. Everybody has different taste buds but if you are hungry after a day at the beach this place will satisfy your appetite. My friend ordered the pancakes and I was impressed by that dish. I had the breakfast burrito, it did the job. My wife ordered the cousin scramble, it did the job. read more

Solid cafe near the beach, I like to come here sometimes for a quick bite to eat after surfing or hanging at the beach. They've got a really big menu which is cool. Food was good, nothing special but did the job. I did notice their handicap accessibility greatly lacked. Their wheelchair lift is broken and they only have a tiny set of stairs to enter the restaurant. A couple came in with a baby in their stroller and had a hard time entering the cafe. On another day I got the machaca burrito that was very delicious. Service was awesome and very pleasant workers. Ambiance was nice. A cute mom-and-pop breakfast joint about two blocks from the beach. This is a order/pay and sit-down establishment so its a no-frills vibe. I got to try the breakfast burrito with sausage. It came with a side of tortilla chips and salsa. Overall, the breakfast burrito was filling and just for $14, it can easily be two meals. The service was quick and I love the olive designs in the restroom. It really adds to the Olive Cafe character. I'd recommend also checking out their Olive bakery across the street at the corner. For a little over a year I've been wanting to eat here, but I didn't think that I could get in because of my bigger electric wheelchair. I did not ask, which was my mistake. Turns out they are in the works of getting the front deck wheelchair lift repaired, which will be even better. For now you can get in through the back entrance if you ask them for help. They have a really good breakfast burrito, amazing dessert breakfast options and delicious savory options! The Popeye's scramble is a tasty healthier option! We go multiple times, especially to compensate for the lame place the Breakfast Republic has become (in the past year or so). We love the fact they are mindful of gluten free people and offer different options. Although they only do scrambled eggs, I gladly sacrifice because of the great menu and other multiple options. While in San Diego, my friend INSISTED we go to olive cafe. The location is less than a block from the beach and was such a cool experience! The wait to order was outside and did not take long. The restaurant itself was small but had lots of outdoor seating! I ordered a turtle mocha and french toast and my total was just under $22. Our food took about 15 minutes to come out and all the staff was incredibly kind!!! In my opinion, the coffee was wildly overpriced and had a bit of an off flavor. The french toast however was worth every penny! The fruit was so fresh and paired well with the rich cinnamon flavor and maple syrup.
