We go multiple times, especially to compensate for the lame place the Breakfast Republic has become (in the past year or so). We love the fact they are mindful of gluten free people and offer different options. Although they only do scrambled eggs, I gladly sacrifice because of the great menu and other multiple options. While in San Diego, my friend INSISTED we go to olive cafe. The location is less than a block from the beach and was such a cool experience! The wait to order was outside and did not take long. The restaurant itself was small but had lots of outdoor seating! I ordered a turtle mocha and french toast and my total was just under $22. Our food took about 15 minutes to come out and all the staff was incredibly kind!!! In my opinion, the coffee was wildly overpriced and had a bit of an off flavor. The french toast however was worth every penny! The fruit was so fresh and paired well with the rich cinnamon flavor and maple syrup. Literally the best meal of our Spring Break Trip. Our airbnb was about a 5 minute walk - and I am so glad we decided to pop into Olive on our last day. The ladies working were SO friendly and accepted our custom orders very kindly. We ordered a scramble, a fruit cup, and a chicken sandwich. It was ALL great food and a great atmosphere.
