Definitely a poor choice for dinner tonight. Got two lasagna's and a small spaghetti. This is go to Walmart, boil some pasta, throw some low grade sauce and cheese and serve it to the kids who aren't going to complain type of bad. I mean, terribly low quality everything. I like Italian cuisine more than most others, so I'm used to average Italian because I've tried most of them. This is at the bottom of the list. This was a takeout order, so I can't speak to the service. Any Italian restaurant, in my experience, should have the basics nailed down solid before I can try the full menu. The basics are well...pretty sub-standard. Won't be back again. Oh, and their prices are unreasonably high. $20 for Lasagna is out of this world bad. Maggiano's Italy, easily the high-quality Italian chain people respect in Jacksonville, offer's a regular portion lasagna meal for $11 and their double portion is $16. This place is a really terrible option for real lovers of Italian - and for people looking for a desperate late night bite. The burger joints across the street would be a better option than this unfortunately. Shame. read more

Pretty good food w generous portions. Most of the menu items are very similar with the protein option being the main difference. I did really enjoy the Masala dish that had flavorful pasta and well marinated chicken. The only thing I can suggest for improvement is to change the way people are greeted. We stood near the entryway , in the center of the dining room for a while which felt like we were standing over other patrons eating. It took a while to get clear direction on where we would wait and we saw it happen over and over again as each group of guests came in. Good food, very poor wait service. The food was average but good, better than the chair old be garden but the waitress was neither professional nor helpful. Bare minimum of getting the food from the kitchen to the table. Had dinner for the first time last week- short staffed due to covid but the food was delicious. I am a local and I would go again for sure. I had the manicotti and it was perfect. Bread was fresh and warm and yummy- soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside. They offer salad only, so that was my meal with grilled chicken. I was surprised when my grilled chicken arrived lightly battered and it wasn't a mistake. The food and service were basic. I ordered take out of chicken florentini, priced at $17 (per picture of menu posted on Yelp) and got no chicken. I suggest you call the restaurant for their website or correct pricing. Just pasta florentini (very creamy and buttery) was okay. I've had their chicken piccata 2-3times in past, and it's really good! I also went in my sweats to pick up to-go order and felt very under dressed (you have to walk past all the patrons to pick up at bar). Authentic Italian feel, as someone from back kitchen came out and cursed the bartender/employee to stop chatting up since they were slammed, but he was giving good service as I could tell the patrons at the bar were enjoying the chatting. This was out first time trying this place and it was pretty awesome. For years my family has always ended up at the big chain Italian restaurant and lately it seems we've grown tired of it. We've driven by Olive Cove for years and finally decided to drop in. My mom had heard some negatives about service / speed but we had no issues. There were six of us and they had drinks and salads on the table within a few minutes, our food was out within another 15-20 minutes, our waitress kept the bread basket and drink glasses full which is all we can ask. The food was better than expected. In our group of 6 we had lasagna, tortellini, fettuccine alfredo, and a chicken parm dish. They were generous with the sauces, which I loved, pasta was cooked perfect, and it was all nice and hot. The decor was very cool. Lots of dark wood and heavy wood / metal chairs and benches. Its at the end of a strip mall but it was a great atmosphere once we got inside. Overall we all agreed we're going to give it another shot in future. read more

My husband and I had lunch. I had the shrimp marsala and my husband had lasagna. The marsala was almost tasteless and served cold. My husband's lasagna had a small amount of meat but the taste was good. The bread that was served with the meal was a toasted hamburger bun with garlic. The salad was good and fresh. I placed my order online and picked ip on the store. The staff didn't quite seem comfortable with how to work things. They were confused on how to handle the order and work the register. When the food came out, I was given the wrong order at the time of pickup and had to swap with another customer who ordered online as well. The food tasted okay, nothing too exciting, the flavor was decent but very over seasoned. The best part was the salad to be honest. The downfall is that it gave me food poisoning the next night. My wife was also very ill as well, she didn't finish her meal, only ate about half before throwing the rest out. The following morning i woke up in the hospital confused and delirious. read more

Very disappointed and didn't eat anything. Attempted to eat there last with wife and two teenagers. They seemed moderately busy. most tables were filled. I was handed one of those beepers as we waited. Had to wait outside front door behind one other family. about 20 minutes later the door opened and the man let them in. He definitely saw us and knew we were waiting. It was a rainy day and as we stood there, heavy storm clouds were streaming in down rte. 200. 15 minutes after that a family that had been eating left and we could see through the glass that they had left a large table that could perfectly accommodate the 4 of us easily. They didn't immediately clean off the table. The clouds were getting heavier and it started to sprinkle. It must have been 10 minutes after that that the man who had let in the family before us walked towards the door but rather than let us in, he kneeled down at another table to take their order. The open table still had dirty plates and silverware on it and now it was raining. I waited longer, was getting soaked and decided to go elsewhere. I opened the door, walked to the front counter and handed someone the beeper they had given me. They saw I was wet and pointed to the cluttered table and suggested I sit there, but I was wet and done. we went to Op's, got seated immediately and you know (?) the meal was very good. And for dessert, I would highly suggest their wonderful beignets. I expected mediocre food so boy did I get a surprise! I ordered chicken parmesan and my husband ordered a meat lovers pizza. Salad and garlic bread come with the dinners. My salad was very fresh and the Garlic bread was too. Now for the stars of the show! Ron's pizza was so thick with meats and cheeses that he had to use a fork. My chicken was plump and and flavorful. It was accompanied by a large helping of spaghetti with sauce. I ended up taking most of my dinner home so I'd have room for cheese cake! This area is growing and I am doing discovery trips as often as I can. Olive Cove has maybe only been open 4-6 months as of this date. I walked in - fairly full - sat at the bar and all of the staff were very personable and nice. I am not completely any label of "consumer" but Olive Cove was very accommodating to my requests. By the time I had my to go boxes packed (great food quality and quantity) the place was to capacity!
