Olive Garden did not disappoint today! I ordered in for me and my family because it was rainy out and we just wanted something warm and comforting at home. My driver, Jazmine, was so sweet, she brought it all right on time and everything was still piping hot, even with the weather. We had the cheese ravioli with meat sauce and extra shrimp (so good!), the shrimp alfredo, and the chicken & shrimp carbonara, everything was delicious and really hit the spot. And that chocolate lasagna? Amazing. The breadsticks were soft, fresh, and perfect like always. Olive Garden and Jazmine made our rainy day feel cozy and taken care of. Definitely ordering again!

Standard Olive Garden, good service. I've been to this Olive Garden a few times and it has been consistently a solid experience. They tend to overcook pasta (like most Olive Garden locations) and you need to ask the server to priorize putting gnoccis in the chicken gnocci soup, otherwise it is typically only a few. I've been surprised as of late at the rising prices. I know that prices have ben rising at most places, but it has gotten to the point where it costs as much as a non-chain/more authentic Italian experience. I will say that I've never had a bad experience with service at this location. The staff seems well managed and tends to be quick with service (which is clutch when breadsticks are on the line). Overall, this spot is good for a simple dinner, perhaps with the family. It's predictable and who doesn't eat pasta/basic Italian-style food? In my experience, it is a solid option when folks won't agree on where to go eat, but is never the first choice for anyone in the group.

Tour of Italy. Good. Could use more sauce and the server was nowhere to be seen

Ehh. The food was good but if you know me and read my reviews I am big on service and the the service was just ehh. Not horrible but certainly not excellent either. Very indifferent on this one

Ordered catering from this Olive Garden location. Ordered chicken panini, chicken parmesan, salad, and breadsticks. The order was ready as discussed and everything was there. The food was well packaged and fed a group of approximately 30 people. Everyone had their fill and I heard no complaints. I definitely recommend them.

Olive Garden is one of those feel good restaurants. You know what you are getting and most of the time is consistent good food. It's always a friendly atmosphere with lots of family and people celebrating an occasion. Just a great place overall. Olivia who was the waitress was SUPERB! Super friendly, very attentive, kept checking on the table, overall, amazing experience with her. Thank you Olivia for a great experience. As you can see from the photos, I tried the fried mozzarella, the chicken parmigiana, and the black tie chocolate mouse cake. I opted for the salad. However, I did not take a pic of it or the breadsticks. I ended up taking half my meal home, because the portions were very big for dinner. Everything tasted delicious. If I had to say one thing was that the pasta was a bit bland so I took it home and added some salt and pepper and some cheese and it was great for leftovers. Would definitely recommend.

Prices have climbed. But the atmosphere, the service, and the food are still great! I love the consistency, and quality of their food. It's comforting to get a bowl of soup, or a complete meal, and know it's going to taste the way you remembered it. The waiter was great, very attentive. Took great care of us. Went the extra mile, working to make us happy!

Had a reservation for 11 (family) at 5:30. Our party was there before 5:30. Every 15 mins, we kept getting lied to that our table was being cleaned. Finally got to sit down close to 6:30. I get it...it's Sunday...we had a large party, but we also didn't just walk in. Our server was very prompt at refilling our drinks, bread and salad. She alone put some review stars on the board. What didn't raise the stars was the food. The food is just not like how it used to be and the prices have gone way up. The choices are slim and the food you get is so bland. I picked the chicken and shrimp carbonara, because I knew how bland the fettuccine can be. I had it at another location a couple of weeks back and it was one of the worst pasta dishes I had ever had. The chicken in the carbonara had a very weird texture. It was way too soft almost mushy. Not that I like my chicken tough, but too soft was kind of weird for me. The peppers and shrimp were lovely and the pasta was cooked...but you could really tell it was microwaved. Some of the dish was hot while other parts were lukewarm. The food is just not "fooding." You can find some really spot on restaurants at this price point. Not rushing to go back.

I haven't eaten at Olive Garden since before the pandemic. I know, I know....it's a chain restaurant but I've always loved it. It goes without saying that their salad and breadsticks are awesome! I ordered Giant Stuffed Shells fill with 4 cheeses topped with marinara and Alfredo sauces and toasted bread crumbs. I've never ordered this entree before and it was to die for! I ate half and brought home the rest for lunch tomorrow. It was a very generous portion. I also had a Very Berry Sangria. It was delicious. My server was excellent and took great of me. When you're single, most people want to seat you at the bar. I'm never going to sit at the bar. The main reason being I'm not comfortable sitting on a barstool. But the hostess didn't mention the bar and she seated me at a lovely little 2 seater table. Thank you Olive Garden for a great dining experience!

Anna is amazing, she took great care of us and made the meal so pleasant! The creamy mushroom sauce is my new addiction and you cannot go wrong with salad and breadsticks! Sometimes you just need a laid back meal at the Olive Garden!

Salad to go with brown lettuce

Olive Garden is a very nice commercial Italian restaurant. I know that all of their food comes premade to them and they heat it up. Meaning their lasagna. I'm sure their chicken Parmesan comes breaded but they bake it and put cheese on top of it and sauce. The big complaint I have is the salad. When you dine in the salad is fresh, albeit it's already pre-shredded and brought to them in a bag. But when you order takeout, like I did this evening, they give you the brown lettuce. I love lettuce and if it's a little brown, I will still eat it. I will give them the freshness of the olives, the peppers and the tomatoes. So if you want, authentic, authentic Italian, go to a mom and pop restaurant near you. If you want, run-of-the-mill, Italian food, that's better than frozen entrées that you buy at the market, Olive Garden is your place. Tour of Italy is good but lasagne is pre made.

OG's *NEW* Chicken Marsala--grilled chicken tenders, mushrooms, spinach, fettuccine, and marsala wine sauce--parmesan on top
    Krisdena R.

Came here midday on a Saturday (2:30pm) and was advised there was a 25 min wait for seating. We were seated rather quickly in the bar area. There was an annoying alarm going off all through our meal (turns out it was a customer's car alarm ‍). Heads up OG has changed their chicken marsala--grilled tenders, spinach, mushrooms, fettuccine and a new Marsala sauce. Waitress advised of new recipe prior to ordering. I'll forewarn you--the sauce has a strong wine yeac flavor--I personally think cook did not allow alcohol in marsala to burn off, but I did advise waitress of issue. Service was a bit slow and we received plasticware for kids, which seems odd, but all in all food is what one would expect from OG.

Most of the time, we order online and use the drive up window to pick up meals, so this is the first time in a while we've been inside. At first I was disappointed to see QR Codes on the table for menus but we were promptly brought real menus (which I prefer). I was surprised to see it seems the menu has expanded quite a bit, not only with breakfast but also things like burgers and pasta dishes. We had the rotisserie chicken omelette and a breakfast burrito. Sides were hash browns and the home fries. The omelette and burrito were both reasonably good, not the best I've had but certainly still good. The potato sides were both great. Food came fast and hot, and service was attentive. I still prefer Why Not for dinners over breakfast and this won't become by new go-to in the morning, but it's a good option and I'm glad to see them expanding the business.

We were greeted with smiling staff who asked if it were our first time here. (Guess us looking around in wonder while I snapped photos was a dead giveaway ) They offered samples of the broccoli cheddar casserole. Delicious! My sister got some with her meal. I had the Why Not Chicken wrap which has fried chicken, bacon, cheddar, and some other not-as-important stuff that all tasted scrumptious together! They made this fresh so it took a few minutes (info for those that may be in a rush) but hot and freshly made was fantastic! They have steak fries which were cooked just right. Despite the friendly young man telling me they had the "good good" ranch, they in fact do not. (If you know, you know!) But the ranch was good (enough) regardless. The restaurant is very clean, has a nice open feel to the layout and also has a small space to the side if more private dining is needed. The staff were all great! Super friendly and helpful. The owner (what I assume is the owner) has a great personality and sense of humor. My sister and I definitely enjoyed our lunch. We told them we'll be back!

This time I came back by myself and tried the noodle bar instead, and it's a completely different experience but still worth it. The noodle bar is set up like a small Korean grocery store station. Shelves of instant ramen to choose from, you grab your bowl, add your noodles and seasoning, then use one of the machines to cook it. There are three settings and I used M1, which came out just right. The broth was hot and the noodles had a good texture, not mushy. This is a basic setup. No fresh toppings, no eggs, no extras to dress it up. Some places offer that, but this one keeps it simple. If you go in expecting a full ramen bar you might be disappointed, but if you understand what they're going for, it works. And don't break your noodles. Leave them long so you can slurp them the way you're supposed to. If you watch Korean dramas, you've seen this a hundred times. Slurp the noodles and drink the broth after. I also ordered the Cajun tiger roll, 10 pieces, and that plus the noodles was more than enough food. The roll had tempura shrimp and cucumber inside, topped with spicy crab salad, spicy mayonnaise, and flame-seared salmon. The sushi chef used a handheld torch to sear the salmon right in front of me, and that added a nice finish. Between the noodles and sushi, I was full. This is a good option if you don't want to do the full all-you-can-eat. It's quick, easy, and you still get a good experience without committing to grilling at the table. I'd still recommend this place for groups, but now I'd also tell people not to overlook the bar if you're by yourself or just want something lighter. Must order: Instant ramen (use M1) and the Cajun tiger roll Heads up: Noodle bar is basic with no fresh toppings, manage expectations accordingly

I'll tell you wait, this place is a hidden gem though. The place itself is an old Pizza Hut located between High Point and Jamestown. It's a small building with a drive through and quite a bit of parking for a small establishment. Nothing incredibly fancy but they had some nice touches such as homemade wicker decorations and traditional sauces on the tables. The lighting was not overly bright but was a nice ambiance setter. Our waitress was phenomenal. Very polite and explained everything to us. She reviewed the items we ordered and made sure we understood what everything was. She even explained to us how traditional Vietnamese people ate some of the dishes which added to the experience. We ordered 3 appetizers to split and get a taste of different things and it was nice as she brought out each one separately so we could enjoy what was just served. As for the food, we had the following: Rice Paper Rolls - all the ingredients were fresh and the vegetables were crisp. The peanut dipping sauce was to die for and could have been eaten by itself. Pulled Pork Sliders - a more modern take on pork buns. These were one of our favorite dishes . The cilantro was a little heavy but a minor complaint. Chicken Satay - absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. The peanut sauce was glazed on and not too heavy. For our main course my wife had the House Pho and I had Beef Shortrib Banh Hoi. My wife really enjoyed her Pho although the tendon and tripe were chewy and not to her liking. The Banh Hoi was absolutely delicious and a fun way to eat dinner. For those who haven't had it, it's almost a make your own lettuce wrap with meat, a sheet of noodles, cucumber, and carrots. You then dip it in a broth. All of the flavors meld nicely and it was delicious! I had the short rib which were seasoned and cooked perfectly. Highly recommend this little gem for a fun night out or to try something different.

It closed in early February for what were supposed to be renovations, only to reopen months later with a new name and a new concept, trading slightly upscale Southern for more upscale Italian. In some regards, this makes sense - it fills a void created by the closure of Lulu and Blu - but in other ways, it's a massive gamble. My wife and I went for our anniversary dinner, and while it was an overall pleasant experience, it also made us miss Magnolia. The higher price point is the chief culprit. Otto and Blue offers pastas in the $20s and entrees starting in the $30s, bread and olive oil not included. While we were celebrating an occasion that merited such a splurge, it's hard to imagine the restaurant remaining competitive at those prices once the sheen of newness wears off. Look past that, however, and Otto and Blue shines in both ambiance and service. It's classy without being stuffy, and the dark turquoise tones suit it well. Allison, a Magnolia Blue mainstay, was personable and attentive and provided excellent service throughout the meal. Otto and Blue's menu offers apps, salads, pastas, and entrees. It's predominantly Italian albeit with a few options for the steak-and-potatoes crowd. The dishes range from recognizably classic (rigatoni Bolognese) to conspicuously elevated (halibut piccatta). After mulling over several offerings, we went with the bread service, tagliatelle, and duck cacciatore. The food ranged from fairly good to outstanding. While $9 for bread is a tough pill to swallow, they executed it as well as they possibly could have: a hot, fresh ciabatta with tasty herb butter, olive relish, and a quality olive oil-balsamic combo as accompaniments. The cacciatore boasted a pair of duck legs confit, and while I'm usually no fan of dark meat poultry, these were prepared well with crispy skin and plenty of meat. For a typically hearty dish, the sauce seemed light (and a bit subdued), but that could be a consequence of serving atop polenta (more absorbent) rather than pasta. Speaking of pastas and sauces, the tagliatelle hit a nice balance of creamy and zesty without swimming in its white wine lemon sauce. Surprisingly, the highlight of the meal ended up being the dessert that Otto and Blue kindly offered as an anniversary gift. A scoop of vanilla bean gelato came adorned with a Biscoff cookie, a drizzle of olive oil, and a dash of salt. If salt and especially olive oil on ice cream seem vaguely blasphemous, don't knock it until you try it. Each bite was thoroughly delicious. It's a given that good food doesn't come cheap, but even so, Otto and Blue has no margin for error to justify what it charges. On food alone, it was close but not quite there. However, the overall experience made it worthwhile, and I have no regrets about dining here.

I stopped by a little before noon on a Friday to find the establishment very busy, a testament to Alexandria's loyal following. As much as I wanted to like this place, however, it just didn't strike me as anything special. Positives first: Alesha is a friendly and welcoming presence, and the staff here seem hard-working and personable. Though the menu is fairly limited, several items - a crostini and a spinach/hummus/red pepper/quinoa wrap - held appeal. I ultimately went with the day's special, an Italian sandwich. It took a while to arrive, but given how busy - and new - the bistro was, I'm inclined to cut them some slack. While the sandwich featured a good amount of meat, it was oddly sweet due to the choice of pepper. Banana peppers and a dash of oregano would have been a welcome remedy. Like a few of the other sandwich offerings, the Italian clocked in at $12 with a bag of chips included. Some of the salads reached ambitiously into the teens. I may need to give Bistro 1605 another shot after they are fully up to speed at their new location, but initial impressions suggest a place that will serve you neither a bad lunch (and there is something to be said for that consistency alone) nor a particularly memorable one.
