Hey family! It's been a while and hope each of you are well. I popped in the recently renovated Ruby Tuesdays on Thorndike. It looks soooooooo much better inside. It's much more inviting and adequately lit. I'm impressed with the marble countertops. I saw my favorite bartender Josh and he was amazing. The food is still good and they're promoting their happy hour Monday-Sunday from 4-7 and 9-11. They have some very filling $5 appetizers like the spinach artichoke dip, queso and chicken bites. I like coming up here because it's very chill and if you like sports, they have all the tvs on with popular games. Come check them out. They are open now!

The restaurant is completely remodeled & it looks really nice inside. The waitress was very friendly & helpful. My cheeeburger was cooked just right. My fries had pepper on them which I do not really care for but it was still okay. They have a excellent salad bar too.

Saw an advertised special they have on Mondays and decided to give it a try. Haven't been to a Ruby's in years. Always loved the salad bar. Monday is the endless salad bar accompanying a single patty smash burger with fries or tots for $9.99. That's what we ordered. The salad bar was fresh, clean, and well stocked. The burgers were good but next time I will get the double burger for $2.00 more. The bun was brioche, a plus. Our server was ok. Kind of got lost when we needed silverware. The manager got it for us and all else was fine. It was good food for a good value. We'll be back. Look on the website for daily specials.

Saturday evening dining. (And thank goodness I was done before a bus full of guests arrived!) I was promptly greeted and seated. Server was efficient and friendly. I had the chicken parmigiana with a trip to the salad bar. It was more than an ample portion of food. I actually requested a take out box for 1/2 of the chicken parmigiana. Good flavor, pleasant experience.

I'm so sorry I gave them another chance. It was the BOGO that got me but still not worth it. The bun on burger and cheesesteak was soaking wet, the cheesesteak had no cheese, I said no peppers and it had peppers. The bacon looks like it's a month old, the fries taste like they were cooked in 3 week old oil portion was a joke. The cheese on burger looks like it was made in a lab! They need to burn this place down, rebuild a new one & hire staff from California! Better yet, just burn it down. So disappointed, never going there again!

It's never too busy at this location. Very clean and the salad bar is always stocked up. The actual food could be fresher as far as the meals go. But the salad bar is the gold area for Ruby's. Sanitation grade is great here as well.

One word TYLER! He was the highlight of our visit. Wonderful service, very friendly and knowledgeable of the menu and specials. The restaurant was pretty cold, glad I grabbed a couple of hoodies to bring. My kids were freezing. The food was disappointing. The runs gave off a spoiled odor, so I ate around them. I ordered the triple play which comes with a half rack of ribs, shrimp, and tenders. The tenders were old and hard. Which I was pretty sad about because they use to be my go to menu item. I also ordered a margarita and returned it as soon as it came out. It was nasty. My husband also ordered a margarita, his was tasty. The kids food was pretty cold and not fresh. This was totally a waste of money. Glad we had snacks back at our hotel.

Our waiter Josh was a 5. Chicken quesadilla was pretty okay. Salmon was good with zucchini and rice. Free refills on lemonade. Plays sports on the televisions. Josh will try to get you to order dessert.

Not the best picture because I dug in too fast. This is the blackened fish sandwich

Great casual atmosphere, the staff have really come into their own, and the food is simple but has little touches that often make it a small cut above most other sports bar type places around. My favorite things to order are the smashburgers, chicken philly (almost as good as the one at Old Town, a restaurant also belonging to this same owner), and now the fish and chips. I decided to get those last night, and the fish was two good size thick cod filets, fried and breaded perfectly. The fish was flaky and tender, the remoulade it came with really elevated it, I'm glad it was not plain tartar sauce (gross). The appetizer favorite here is the pulled pork nachos for me, otherwise, we usually just get meals. If I had one small complaint, it's that the tea is usually brewed pretty weak. Steep it a little longer, and you've got me fully hooked.

We loved their homemade dressings. Service: Our server was great! Attentive, kind, and offered to let us taste test. She also was helpful in her descriptions and recommendations. However, our experience fell short upon arrival. The hostess said they don't have a table for 5 but we could add a chair to a 4 top. And when I said that's not a comfortable or reasonable set up for 5 people and asked if we could push two tables together, she seemed annoyed. Who thinks it's acceptable for a party of 5 to sit someone at the corner point of a 4 top table when there are open tables all around? Management advice: If this is truly your approach, I'd recommend you rethink that logic. This is basic hospitality.

I don't know if the ownership has changed or if they just made some decisions to alter things, but either way it changes our opinion of the place. First and most important for us, they used to be the only place we were aware of in NC to get Gluten Free Crab Cakes which was a major reason we frequented Sammy G's. That has apparently changed and the new Gluten Free menu is basically just the meats menu which is a real shame. It looks like they have made some other small changes to the regular menu as well, none of those were all that concerning but the loss of this GF treat is a real blow for us. If you are a celiac and found reviews about the GF crab cakes, please be aware they appear to be gone now. Additionally, the prices across the menu seem to have gone up by a few dollars. When you consider that Sammy G's was never a cheap place to eat, and given the state of the economy these days, that actually does come out to a noticeable change and makes it harder to justify going. However, with the loss of the old GF options, it's unlikely we'll come back anywhere near as often as we used to.

Entrées followed in a reasonable time, no real issue there. Sammy G's has been in High Point for years and offers a wide menu with a little bit of everything. They also bring out little yeast rolls that are pretty good and they were warm when served. We started with the thin cut onion rings. My husband said "less than spectacular," and that sums it up. Some were sliced so thin you mostly tasted breading, and they were a bit greasy. I would skip these. He ordered the fish sandwich with Brussels sprouts (premium side with a small upcharge). The sandwich was okay, nothing special. The Brussels sprouts were good, nicely cooked with solid flavor. I had the Fratellis salad with greens, cranberries, feta, mozzarella, Granny Smith apples, and candied pecans, and added sirloin for an upcharge. They forgot the steak at first, but brought it out shortly after in a separate bowl. Not a big deal. The sirloin was cooked medium as requested, a little red inside and tender enough to cut easily. It had good flavor. I chose the apple cider vinaigrette, which worked well with the salad. I also ordered the chef's selection soup, which was supposed to be lobster bisque. If there was any lobster, it was microscopic. The flavor was slightly bitter and just not good. I asked for it to be taken off the bill. Service handled everything well, including the mistake with the steak and the soup. Atmosphere is casual tavern style, relaxed and easy for a weekday lunch. Must order: Fratellis salad with sirloin and apple cider vinaigrette (yummy), Brussels sprouts Heads up: Skip the thin cut onion rings and don't expect much from the bisque. Other soups, I've had here in the past have been great though.

After hearing so many great things, my family and I finally decided to try it this weekend, and all I can say is... WOW! What an incredible experience from start to finish. First, let me say that Zee, the owner and chef, is one of the most welcoming restaurateurs you'll ever meet. He not only prepares amazing food but also takes the time to personally greet his guests, making you feel like family the moment you walk in. We started with the Hummus and Fresh Flatbread, and it was absolutely outstanding, fresh, creamy, and full of flavor. Next came the Börek (Ground Beef and Feta Cheese). Think of it as the best, most flavorful "egg roll" you've ever had, but with authentic Turkish flair. Simply delicious! I had the Bugu Kebabi, served in a clay plate with red onions and tomatoes. Sealed with baked bread. I'm usually not a lamb person, but when Zee explained that the lamb is marinated for hours in an onion-based broth, I decided to step outside my comfort zone. I'm so glad I did! The lamb was incredibly tender and packed with flavor. The presentation was also unique and memorable, with the delicate thin bread cut open right at the table. It was more than enough for my daughter and me to share. My wife ordered the Beyti Kebab, is a Turkish dish consisting of ground beef, grilled on a skewer and served wrapped in lavash and topped with yogurt sauce and butter sauce. Every single bite was bursting with amazing flavors. Another outstanding dish! All the desserts are to die for, many are imported from Turkey. Before you leave, don't miss the opportunity to enjoy an authentic Turkish Coffee, Turkish Wines, or a Turkish Beers to complete the experience. If you're looking for a restaurant that offers healthy, authentic, delicious, and very reasonably priced food, Zeeyum Kitchen should absolutely be on your list. The service is exceptional, the atmosphere is warm and inviting, and there's plenty of convenient parking. Highly recommended! We'll definitely be back!!!

It's not to be confused with Fig and Olive Cafe in Greensboro. Fig & Olive is new to Stock + Grain. It opened last month, July 2025. Stock + Grain opened in early 2022. The food hall has really filled in since then. We visited for dinner before a Carolina Core soccer game and the place was packed. My wife and I were drawn to Fig & Olive's menu. We wanted something light and relatively healthy. They sell sandwiches and bowls, priced at $11 to $18.50 each. We both got the Portofino Bowl for $16.50 each. It comes with baby arugula, soppressata, bresaola, marinated artichoke hearts, shaved pecorino romano, fresh lemon, and extra virgin olive oil. The bowls/salads were presented nicely. One of our friends commented that they looked "delightful." Unfortunately, the bowls looked better than they tasted. They were unbalanced and hard to enjoy. We were unable to finish them. While the portion sizes were decent, I was working/chewing through a lot of dense, cured meat. There wasn't any dressing except for the EVOO (which I'm not sure we even noticed) and some lemon wedges. Overall, the bowls weren't that flavorful. They felt incomplete. The quality of the ingredients was fine, though. They give you a pager so you know when to pick up your order. When I went to pick up our bowls, they made a mistake and only prepared one bowl instead of two. I let them know and later, the cashier brought my bowl directly to where we were sitting. She was polite and apologetic. No big deal to me. It looked like there were only two people working and they were busy. Given how new this place is and the appealing menu, I'd be willing to give it another shot. Maybe they were still working some kinks out and/or we ordered the wrong thing. Fig & Olive is certainly a nice addition to Stock + Grain's lineup. According to Fig & Olive's page on Stock + Grain's website, the business is "a social enterprise" of Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest NC's Providence program where "all efforts and profits support workforce development programs." Very friendly and seemed genuinely excited for new customers and gave some recommendations. She provided excellent service! We decided to try the Spinach Artichoke Dip with Tortilla Chips. It's a sports bar atmosphere with several televisions and ample seating. The servers are always kind and attentive. Their burgers are delicious, which I normally get with hot chips on the side. Tonight I tried the steak tips with Mac &cheese and green beans. It was delicious, and I cleaned my plate! My daughter got the chicken nachos which were so tasty. The chips were actually made in house with flour tortillas! Can't beat the variety and flavor, along with the prices that are comparable to other places in the area. Give it a try!
