It's been several years since I've been in this restaurant. I really wanted to eat elsewhere but this was too convenient and we didn't have a lot of time for lunch. The restaurant was very busy but the line moved quickly. My husband ordered the Reuben with a side of broccoli and I ordered a club with a side of potato salad. The last time we were here our meal was okay... not great. This time we were both blown away by the flavors and quality of the meats. The potato salad was absolutely amazingly delicious! I was also impressed with the quality and competence of the staff. Clearly they have a great management team in place at this location. The staff can make or break the dining experience and the team on duty this day was fantastic. I have to be in High Point again next week and am excited to eat here again. Highly recommend.

Again like 3 pieces of really thin small pieces of meat... no au jus no mayo or horse raddish or horsey sauce...
    Bonnie B.

I ordered from a delivery company but the order was easy and straightforward. French dip no Swiss add provolone and pickle chips. It asked about au jus and I said yes I wanted some. This is what came to me (in a very quick 15 minutes) no au jus half the meat as normal and the bun was as if someone ripped it apart. No quality control. I called and was hung up on. I also got carrot cake but it has gravy inside it because they packed the cake in a small to go box and then just laid the sandwich rolled in paper on top. The sandwich juice would be picked up by the paper then would run into the cake box. The sandwich had no taste. It was wet bread with melted provolone cheese and at least half the meat that normally comes. Overall, bad experience.

It's been a while since I've been to McAlister's, and I don't know why! The food was great, I got their veggie sandwich and their veggie baked potato and they were both delicious. My sandwich was flavorful and the veggies in both the items were fresh! Their sweet tea is a hidden gem btw! Service was quick as well and there's plenty of spaces to sit inside.

    TEA!

The food is always consistent. My half spud half salad was very good. My favorite thing is the tea. I will forever be a fan of the TEA! The service is always friendly and helpful. I appreciate that they bring your order to you. I love being able to sit outside in good weather.

Food - HORRIBLE! Order 150039 - 2 of 3 of the sweet teas were unsweetened but were supposed to be flavored teas. Angus Club was supposed to have extra onions. Mac N cheese was pasty and chalky. Service gets a ZERO! It was an online order. We wasted $52 on bad quality food.

HUGE glass of sweet tea. Delicious.

We decided to try McAllister's for lunch today. It was wonderful. The staff were very friendly and put smiles on our faces I got the McAllister's Club. It was so good. It came with honey mustard as well as mayo. Great flavor. I also ordered a side of Mac n cheese. It was FABULOUS. I wish I would have gotten two. So creamy and cheesey. Perfect. My husband got the Reuben and Chicken Tortilla Soup. I tasted the soup and it was very good. Had a nice spice to it and it's served with tortillas chips instead of crackers. The Reuben was good. They use rye bread instead of the pumpernickel rye that we are used too. It is also toasted instead of grilled. He said he liked it but would try something else next time And there will be a next time!

    Black Angus club with salad

I didn't go to the location. I ordered it through delivery. They package their food well. I ordered the Black Angus club sandwich with a salad. Layered with cheese, roast beef, lettuce, tomato and horseradish sauce. The horseradish sauce made the sandwich. It is good! This sandwich is well proportioned and has enough to put you in a food coma...so be careful ordering this for lunch lol if you do, pause on the second half..lol I turned my nose up a bit because the salad was spinach based, but I was pleasantly surprised that I loved it. I am sold on spinach salads. The ranch dressing was really good. I'm picky about my ranch dressing and I would eat this any day. I'm a pickle lover and they have the best kosher dill pickles. Yum!

    The Italian 12"

I ordered hella food because I wanted to a be a big back but I couldn't be with this fake 12" sub, it's only 10! I'm disappointed and want my 2 cents back. I still ate it though it very good I just wish I had my other 2". Good service though I got it pretty fast but I probably got it fast seeing as I was missing the 2".

The gentlemen working there are so handsome and helpful. They were eager to assist and the service is top notch. They get you in and out quickly, without sacrificing quality. Dats what I'm talkin about! Their artichokes look so good. I can't stop thinking about them and am kicking myself in the pants for not getting some. Oh well, I guess that means I'll be forced to go back and get some. Ha! What I did get was the Italian Stallion sub and the Meatball Parm sub. First. Let's talk about the bread. FRESH and slightly crunchy on the outside, with the perfect amount of chewy, and pillowy yet dense on the inside. The BEST bread on a sub that I've found in NC. The Marinara on the sub is authentic Italian marinara with just the right amount of cheese, but those MEATBALLS...I've never had a meatball quite like theirs and they are homemade, delicious with the perfect seasonings. Yum! The Italian Stallion. Absolutely the BEST sandwich I think I've ever eaten. They don't skimp on the meat that's for sure and its QUALITY cold cuts all the way. And the best thing about getting food from here? Their prices. They have kept their prices on the lean side while still keeping their sandwiches fat. Love love love! So what ya gonna do about it? Go back for more! That's what! This is a 100% YES and I will be recommending to everyone.

I'm so glad that I decided on them to order lunch yesterday! I ordered the monstrous Torta with Al Pastor as my protein choice. It was difficult to decide, but I think that if an Mexican restaurant can do great Al Pastor, they just are great! It was so yummy, flavorful and the texture just perfect! Put a little of that red HOT sauce on it and it's killer. And yes, I emphasized that for a reason. The red sauce is firey! The green is a good choice for some acidity, but not so hot. My friend ordered 6 tacos and they were delightful! Two of each of the pollo, chorizo, and al pastor. They come with onions, cilantro and lime but you can add other toppings for an added fee. They really don't need anything else, but feel free to indulge! I would definitely order from them again! It's a small space - a few tables inside and a few tables out - but don't let that or the line you are likely to encounter deter you. They crank out sandwiches quickly here. Said sandwiches include about two dozen hot and cold offerings as well as the ability to build your own. The meats are Boar's Head, but the desserts and soups are made fresh in-house. Check out the display case for salads and sides that might catch your eye. O'Brien's prides itself on its Reuben, and so I went with the "mini" version (a quarter rather than a half pound of meat) with a pickle for my first visit here. Ordering at the register was a breeze, and I was fortunate enough to snag one of the tables for dine-in. Though I was a bit skeptical that the Reuben would match the hype, it delivered. I don't know that it is without a doubt the best version I've had, but it is definitely up there. The grilled rye was nice and crisp, and I appreciated that they used both mustard and Russian dressing. That, plus the meat, kraut, and melty cheese, made for a very satisfying bite. At $10, the sandwich proved a good value, too. Unpretentious and nostalgically comforting (for Northern transplants, at least), O'Brien's is a well-oiled sandwich-slinging machine. Though that Reuben will be hard to top, I look forward to giving one of their other offerings (maybe a Cuban, maybe a Spicy Italian) a try.

When anyone asks me where to find the best reuben in Winston, I tell them go to the place that proudly proclaims in their window that they are "The Home of the Reuben" and can back it up... O'Briens! It's a small place, a few outdoor tables, and probably 6-8 inside. They do a lot of to-go business, for good reason. The lunch crowd will never shy away from a sandwich here... of which I have had several. But the reuben indeed stands alone. One of the keys to their success is a happy and engaged staff. The owner, Josh, realizes this and takes great care of them. He believes his success should also be theirs, and that is evident in their demeanor. On to the Reuben. Why is it so good? The pictures really say it all. Corned beef stacked high, with a good ratio of kraut, swiss cheese, deli mustard, and grilled Jewish rye bread. Visually impressive, leads perfectly into orally outstanding. You'll be full and happy, and wondering why you'd order it anywhere else. Not to mention, check them out around St. Patrick's day for traditional Irish stew!

Part of that is due to its proximity to area businesses although the friendliness of the folks working here certainly helps too. The same family that owned Jack's Corner near UNCG owns this place. In light of that and of how long they've been around, I really wanted to like Wallstreet Deli. Ultimately, I found it to be solid if not impressive. Though Wallstreet bills itself as a New York-style deli, it really isn't much of one, and if you head in expecting that experience, you'll leave disappointed. Approach it as a sandwich shop with some Mediterranean/Middle Eastern offerings, however, and it acquits itself much better. The menu features hot and cold sandwiches, burgers, salads, plus souvlakis, gyros, kababs, and falafel. I was craving a cheesesteak, and the steak and cheese combo with fries fit the bill nicely. Even after adding mushrooms (an upcharge), it still came out under $15 pre-tax. I took it to go and found it satisfying. The sandwich offered a decent amount of meat and plenty of flavor. The fries were OK - not as crisp as they could be but not underdone or undersalted - though I would probably skip them on a future visit. Wallstreet Deli is a fast, friendly, fairly tasty lunch option for anyone in the vicinity of the airport, but take proximity out of the equation, and you can find better Mediterranean and better sandwiches elsewhere in town.
