I like trying new-to-me locations for beloved restaurants so today we came to this Olive Garden. We were celebrating the last day of summer vacation and one of my kids picked OG for lunch. This particular restaurant appears to be older. Some areas showing a bit of wear and tear. The older Olive Gardens feel cozy and "like home" compared to the new modern ones like in Missouri City. We arrived around 1:40pm on a Monday and I was SHOCKED how busy it was. We got seated right away but there were so many guests already there. Our server, Michelle, was WONDERFUL! Such a sweet girl. Very attentive and friendly. We ordered our "usual" lunches: kid's cheese pizza and soup/salad/breadsticks. The Minestrone soup and salad were great as always and my child enjoyed her meal too. My wife and I were able to dine at the Olive Garden Sunday evening after a long day at an outdoor Market. Our waitress, I think her name was Kayli, was very helpful and had a wonderful disposition. She recommended to Sangria pitcher after the hot day and my enjoyed it immensely. She was also very quick to make sure we had enough breadsticks and salad and our food came quickly and was hot and delicious. Kayli deserves a raise, or at the least a pat on the back. read more

I came expecting the average Olive Garden experience but I left having the most amazing dine in experience of my life. Diego me and my girlfriends waiter went above and beyond to meet our needs and make sure we had all we need. It was almost like he knew when we needed a refill on food or drinks and breadsticks. On top of that the food was amazing alway hot steamy and fresh I tried a very different protein on my pasta and it came out nice tender crunchy and hot. On top of that you can't beat the Italian music in the background with the nice decor in the whole environment plus the very friendly and very well receiving workers greeting you at the door. 10/10 will come again read more

After being seated, it took quite a few minutes before being greeted by the bartender, who I'm assuming wasn't even supposed to take care of me as he said "she hasn't came by to get your drink order?" "She" never came so the bartender took care of me. All was well until 4pm rolled around. The bartender's relief came in and I suppose he was supposed to be gone at 4 but since I was still there so he couldn't. He then starts complaining, within earshot of me, to his coworker about how he never shouldn't taken this table. Mind you, I know I'm his only customer because the whole bar side of the restaurant was empty. A good ten minutes of complaining and his coworker shouting at him from across the restaurant "you should have given it to me" it doesn't take a brain scientist to realize who they're speaking about. To begin with, it's incredibly tough eating alone at a restaurant and to add on top of that, to have the wait staff acting like they absolutely can't wait for you to leave is humiliating. I love Olive Garden. However, this review is only for the one on Fairmont in Pasadena, TX & excludes all the other locations. I requested a booth in the bar area after arriving an hour before they closed. At my request, I was seated where I could watch the Astros vs Yankees for their last playoff game. 2 people were sitting at the bar watching the game & conversing with the bartender. I ordered their unbelievably delicious stuff ziti fritta, along with chicken gnocchi soup, chicken carbonara, and their perfectly made Peach Bellini Tea. I did not mind waiting for their garlic bread to finish baking because it was delivered a few minutes later warm & very soft. When the Astros were ahead, the bartender said "I hope the Astros lose so he would not lose his bet against them." When the teams where tied, he said, "the Astros are going to lose". The man sitting at the bar left the restaurant & the woman went to the restroom. The bartender changed the tv to the Dolphins football game. I asked him, "why he changed the channel". He said it was a commercial break and he liked the Dolphins. The manager told him to change the tv back to the Astros game. He was not happy about it. When the woman came back to the bar, the bartender complained about what happened to get her support. She then left the restaurant. Although the food was very good, I felt very uncomfortable eating there and quickily finished my meal. People like me who eat at the bar want to watch the game and root for their home team. They don't want to hear the bartender badgering their favorite home team. He should have just kept his comments to himself. I do not think I will return to that location again. There are plenty of other locations, I can sit at the bar and enjoy eating a wonderful meal while rooting for my favorite team. read more

This isn't our usual Olive Garden which is on the Southwest Freeway. We go to this one after we've gone to the Pasadena Convention Center, usually for Repticon. This location gets a low rating not for service but for the food. Not the quality of the food. I ordered a gluten free pasta dish and about halfway through it, I found a couple of regular wheat noodles. Looked like fettuccine. Yeah, I got contaminated, I got symptomatic. Some mildly uncomfortable tummy rumblings on the way home, a headache later that day. Then a couple days later a nasty flare of irritability. Damn. And damn, Olive Garden. Some of us are on a gluten free diet out of necessity. I have no choice in the matter. Either train your cooks better or don't offer gluten free. This is a great location; my wife and I come here quite often. We have never had a problem with the service and the food has always been excellent. Last night we ate there and our server was Micah. He was great and definitely an asset to the team. He was friendly and funny, attentive and creative. I mean he even made a face in the salad with the vegetables. Visited 12/20/2012, the day before I thought the world was going to end. I probably would have put some more thought into having a meal that would have been more memorable. However, it wasn't too bad. Arrived at the restaurant and the place was packed. Luckily, we had reservations. The restaurant had a nice atmosphere, but there just wasn't enough room between each tables. Try walking to the restrooms without getting in the way of the waiters. It's a TIGHT fit. maybe not more than 3 feet between the back of your seat to the other table. It's horrible. Their menu has a special menu such as Gluten-free/Allergens section for those allergice to gluten and a kids section. What did I order? Drink: Bellini Peach-Raspberry iced tea I thought I'd try something different, aside from an unhealthy soft drink and just plain water. Although the flavor was delicious, it was just too sweet. I don't normally like pre-sweetened tea because of the level of sweetness, but I forgot to ask whether or not it was unsweetened. All in all, it was delicious and you get non-stop refills. Salad/breadsticks: Received the usual Italian dressing mixed salad and breadsticks. The salad contains the typical hearts of romaine with slices of tomatoes, purple onions, croutons, parmesan cheese and Italian dressing. I don't care for the purple onions because it makes your breath stink and the smell lingers. They're easy to just pluck off your greens. Luckily, the salad wasn't overly coated with dressing. That was a bonus. The breadsticks always comes in a basket covered in a cloth to keep it warm. But, why do they always have to coat it with so much garlic salt? Every single time I visit an Olive Garden, I have to scrape off the salt with a fork. There is enough sodium in the main course that has yet to be received. Main: Chicken & Shrimp Cabonara Chunks of grilled chicken, bacon, shrimp, slices of red peppers with noodles and topped with bread crumbs. I was a bit concerned about the shrimp. Sometimes it can taste too "fishy", but nope. Tender and perfectly cooked. Overall, delicious, aside from the portion-size. It was enough for me to split into 4 servings. For some, it may be a good size, but someone who is only 120lbs, it's a bit much. Dessert: Chocolate Strata By this time, I should have just said no, but some of the desserts on the menu were just too hard to resist. It was a toss-up between the Chocolate Strata and the Chocolate mousse (can't remember the exact name). I went for the Strata and split it between my husband, and it's a good thing I did. It was too large to eat alone. It was served on a square plate with drizzles of chocolate and raspberry syrup. There were about 4 thin layers of cake with frosting in between them and topped with a dark chocolate ganache. Talk about rich. I was "chocolated" out after the 4th bite. Overall, the meal was delicious. I would probably suggest laying off the amount of salt put in the dishes. If I can feel my heart pitter-pattering after the meal, then I KNOW I had ingested too much SODIUM. read more

Went today 02/13/2019 for lunch. Food was very good, service by Gabby our waitress was excellent. Overall it was a very good dining experience. CON: The busboy (a middle aged man) was absolutely obnoxiously loading (slamming loudly) dirty plates and glasses onto to his bus tray, throwing trash from the tables onto his bus tray. Instead of quietly clearing the table and quietly wiping the tables and seating clean, he would whip his towel repeatedly at the table and seating slinging waste food upon the floor. The food and the server was nice. Our drinks were not refilled until we were finished with our meal. The dishes from the salad were not picked up. What was really concerning was that it was a holiday (President's Day) and they were not staffed adequately for lunch. We were a party of 3 and only had about an hour for lunch. They told us it was a 15-20 min wait. I could see multiple tables available so I asked if we could be seated at one of those tables. We were told that servers could only have 3 tables so we couldn't be seated there because they didn't have enough servers. I got a waitress that is either new, or just doesn't care about her job. She was attentive at first, got my drink order and even brought out breadsticks while I waited for the other members of my party (who accidentally went to another Olive Garden). I finished my drink and tried to wave her down several times for a refill but she just kept walking looking lost. My party arrived and so did our waitress asking if they were ready to order. They hadn't even sat down yet. She started to walk away but I thrust my glass at her, asking for water. She nodded and ran, then began wondering around again looking lost. Finally she brought me a new water when everyone was ready to order. I asked for extra olives and tomatoes on the side for my salad. She brought out the salad with extra tomatoes no olives and one single olive in the entire salad. Whatever, I didn't say anything. We asked questions about the food and she knew nothing. She would point at the menu and say things like you can find all the specials in there. If you want dessert, don't order it through me, it's all in that computer at your table. It orders desserts. The next time she offered me a refill was after we paid and were about to leave. To top it all off, she did not give us mints. Those are why I go to Olive Garden! I know I can get an entire box of them for a $1 at HEB, but it's not the same. The mints are a part of the Olive Garden experience. Otherwise, the place was clean.
