I DO NOT like giving out 2 stars. This is a Mom and Pop place...so when you walk into this place with the BEST name ever you THINK you'll get more quality than Subway or any other chain places. For a $7, you'd EXPECT to get REAL greens NOT a mixed bag of romaine lettuce. I went at 3pm and the turkey I wanted was not available. The young lady there said "he didn't cut anymore" I was the only one in there and "HE" has to leave and you leave ONE worker, that worker should KNOW how to operate EVERYTHING in the store. My salad was mediocre at best. Really I could have walked across the lot to the chain store and gotten some at least spinach with my Romaine. and here is the kicker. I ordered the OLIVE IT salad...there were NO OLIVES!!! ummmm hmmmm okay whatever. SO OVER it an disappointed. The young lady dropped a cucumber on the floor and picked it up and put it in the sink instead of trash. you ALREADY know what I'm thinking. The salad was prepared with bare hands. *sigh* as I read the other reviews...I REALLY want to feel the same way. Work down the street from olive it and if you looking for amazing sandwiches this is your stop. We come here at least once week the place is small cute local place everything is always very fresh. They have selection of home made side salads . Have tried all of them non have them let me down. To be honest, I did not have high expectations when I walked into this place. I was a bit worried that Yelped had let me down, but I was completely wrong! The nice lady recommended the most popular sub which was the Neapolitan. Oh, it was delicious and that hoagie was on point; soft with a slight but of chewiness. The bread is what makes or breaks a sub. I also had a small side of the mozzarella and tomato salad (Caprese). Man, that was one helluva side! I make Caprese salad at home all the time fresh, but theirs was phenomenal. They made it fresh to order and also added olives which was the perfect touch. Food here is really affordable and fairly priced. Gotta support good 'ol Mom n Pop places. Metered parking on the street. Only one table with 4 chairs and a few other tables against the wall so I recommend taking your sub to go. read more

Family! A lovely Italian sandwich shop where I felt like I was at home in a kitchen full of love. Olive it? I love it! Fresh cuts, a variety of homemade salads (pasta salads, vegetable salads, a popular broccoli 'power' type of salad with raisins, etc. etc. etc. This place is truly a diamond in the rough. They are fair (I asked for my sandwich on a pretzel bread and because it holds less meat, they charged me less to adjust) and just good at being a place where you feel good to give them your business. The food is incredible and always fresh - I love that they have different salads every day, and the prices are super reasonable. Though the menu is limited, allowing them to spend time making what they do better. A sub that taste just as yummy as the one in Lake Tahoe Keys. I love a good sub with soft white sub bread that is chewy and not tough to swallow. Picked the #1 holding off the ham. I've only experienced this place once and I was not happy at all. I was only third in line and it took me almost 30 minutes to get 2 sandwiches. First of all it was blistering got in there and it made the wait even more unbearable. Ahhhhhhhhh! As I was waiting a few unfortunate things also happened. A little boy with no shirt on had free range of the place. Going to the front, back, kitchen, and bothering the sandwich makers very unsanitarily close. I think he was part of their family, but it was not comforting seeing how close he could get to the food. A little later on a regular came in and said she wanted "the usual". There are only two people making sandwiches and instead of finishing up my order, she started on the "usual". My sandwiches ended up coming out the same time even though she came in 5 minutes after me. I began working in the Westchester are about a year ago, and my one of my Co workers took me to go eat here for lunch one day. I have been hooked every since. The subs taste so good. I prefer eating here over subway and Quiznos which is also in the area. I have no complaints about the service or the atmosphere here. I've walked past Olive It many times over the four years that I've lived in the neighborhood and never realized it was a deli. The unassuming storefront on a street filled with beauty salons and vacuum cleaner repair stores is easily overlooked by the uninitiated. But when I saw my friend at Headquarters, a salon across the street eating one of their salads, I had to give it a try. The friendly, family run staff made me feel welcome the instant I walked in. And their food is amazing! I love their Olive It salad with tuna. The lettuce is piled high and topped with marinated red peppers, a variety of olives and slices of provolone cheese. There's so much flavor it doesn't even need any dressing. I tried their tuna sub and broccoli salad the next time and they were both outstanding, very fresh and flavorful. You realize they're not just making a sandwich for a customer, they're making lunch for you. That difference in attitude is matched by equally excellent quality. I don't know why anyone would go to a subway when you can get fresh, homemade food for the same price. This is Westchester's hidden secret. I just wish they had longer hours. read more

Never been here before. They close fair early and I keep missing them. Finally I was able to get in. I asked for something not on the menu, a muffuletta, reminisce of New Orleans. Olive my life I've been waiting for a deli like this!! I love Italian deli's and am really excited to find a good one. We got an assortment of sandwiches which were all delicious. The broccoli salad and pasta salad were great. Not too heavy of a sauce, just right. Antipasta platter was displayed very nicely and was a big hit. A little mom and pop whole in the wall that is great if you are looking for a quick/filling bite to eat. The 14inch sub is great to share or if you are a fat kid like me it will definitely fill you up! I get the turkey, capicolla and provolone or the tuna salad but everything is good! Since it is a little mom and pop shop they have abnormal business hour and decide to close the shop on random days so i recommend calling ahead to see if they are open. read more

Oh my God!!! The Jersey Shore must be fantastic, I'm a Bruce fan, but I'm from Coney Island Brooklyn a little North on the Atlantic Ocean. This place made me feel like I was back in junior high school cutting out during lunch break to go get the best sandwich "Hero " in back of the Italian market up the road from school. Ive been coming here over the years since Ive worked at LAX. Sometimes its hard to make time to find a good deli/sub shop that can make good food within a matter of minutes to get back to work so Im used to the quiznos/subway lifestyle. But I found this gem randomly when I first started using YELP and still to this day I would recommend this to anyone whos looking for authentic deli food and sandwiches. Located in westchester in the la tijera triangle plaza,owned and operated by family, they provide delicious sides and sandwiches from the #3 Ham, capicolla and proscuitto which has always been and always will be my favorite..because how can you go wrong with any sub that puts prosciutto in it?! Now, dont get me wrong..I love this place so much but Ive noticed that yes, they have lessened the amount of meat they put on the sandwiches because my meal last week, even the 14" didnt really seem filling and I had more veggies than the meat itself. Also, since they have done more catering, which is great for them, unfortunately being only open from 11:30-5 is kind of a letdown because I think they could make just as much money if not more if they were open a little earlier because so many people at my job who have had it now would love to get an early breakfast or lunch from them. Oh man, I keep craving this sandwich. I came just after opening (11:30am) on a Thursday, and it was busy but not packed. I ordered up a prosciutto and fresh mozzarella sandwich on a roll (they have 4-5 different kinds of bread), a side of chopped veggie, and a soda. All in all, with the 10% Yelp discount, it was just under $9. A huge steal. So the sandwich was amazing. The prosciutto seemed of high quality (not chewy like some can be), and that fresh mozzarella was out of this world. The chopped veggie "salad" was crisp and fresh with good flavoring. There is minimal seating inside, especially when it gets busy (which it did pretty quickly after I came). The people are super friendly, and serve it up as quickly as they can, but it isn't a fast food burger by any means - wait a few minutes, and you'll be rewarded. read more

Yummy! I had the Roast Beef (why did I capitalize it? Oh, it was just what I wanted.) and provolone with red pepper and tapenade. I asked for it with everything which includes onion, which I don't usually like, but they sliced it so thinly, it had just the perfect amount of taste without that yucky funk that thick slices of red onion contribute. It's a small shop on a side street tucked in between a bunch of busy streets near lax. They have two small and cozy tables. While I waited for my sandwich, the other patrons and I shifted position between the tables and the counter area as they grabbed a soda from the refrigerated case. It all felt nice and easy, but the sandwich was good and judging by the number of customers in this small shop, it's a local favorite. It's one of my favorites now also. read more

Came here due to the high ratings but was thoroughly disappointed with the food Hole in the wall type deli shop with a very simple menu which surprisingly gets quite packed around lunch time! I tried under their 'specialty sandwiches' Turkey w/roasted red bell pepper & imported provolone on wheat bread. Honestly, the bread tasted like it had been sitting out for quite some time...really rubbery and stale tasting. The deli meat was mediocre and the provolone was really dry. I can definitely build a better tasting sandwich on my own by purchasing my own bread and deli meats at a grocery store. I also tried their pasta salad which I thought was a bit bland but I suppose it was light and refreshing. My friend tried the prosciutto w/roasted red bell peppers and fresh mozzarella and didn't exactly have kind words for her meal either. Staff was friendly and service was pretty quick but the sandwiches were extremely underwhelming. I really wanted to like this place but for around the same price, I would hands down go to Subway over this joint read more

Let me start by saying I have never been here for lunch so this review is not for that. What I did come here for was their Kalamata spread and their Pepper sauces, they are amazing. I have not been able to find them anywhere else, so if you stop in for lunch check out their spreads and sauces, amazing! Custom made Sandy's that are scrumptious is there fare. I had a turkey on sourdough and it was really good. Olive It is in an unpretentious shop in the Westchester Triangle, so you might have to keep an eye out to find it, but it's worth the effort. The counter person was friendly and happy to make the sandwich just the way I wanted it. That may not sound like a big deal, but to me sandwiches are a really personal affair, and most sandwich makers just slap the fixings on with no attention to what they are doing. Olive It takes care while making my sandy and for that I take my hat off. They have a nice array of what I assume are house made salads. I went with chips instead but next time I think I'll try the pasta salad. I think they do catering too, and now that I know where they are, and what they do, I'm going to try to use them for a party some time soon. read more
