Went in to find out what my local deli shop was all about...and I am amazed. I ordered a turkey & provolone sub with everything on it, including mayo and mustard. The proportions were perfect, the bread was incredibly soft, and it was made right in front of my eyes. To top it all off, I picked up a gooey chocolate chip cookie that was baked just this morning. Amazing jersey style subs and you can grab a small side like pasta salad to go. This has been my favorite LA sub shop aside from Bay Cities since moving here. I recommend getting "the works" with mustard and mayo on any of the sandwiches - you won't be disappointed. This is a solid little neighborhood deli, complete with display case full of cold cuts and salads. They also have a small retail section complete with olive oils, pastas, dressings, etc. There are daily specials and home made soups, as well as sandwiches which often consist of paninis. The sandwiches are geared more toward Italian flavors, however, the vinaigrette they put on the sandwiches tend to over power the rest of the flavors and the delicacy of the meats sort of get lost in the mix. Along with a sandwich I got the caprese and some fresh olives. I destroyed the sandwich in no time and loved the olives as well. I love this type of business. Small locale, yet fresh and delicious ingredients used for their sandwiches. I have been twice and both times I was thoroughly impressed with the taste and freshness. I also got some additional olives (they sell them in the small ($2) or medium ($4) containers) which were already flavored with pickled garlic. Nothing too intense, just the right amount of added flavor. And Leslie and her staff are super friendly. Sitting might be limited, although both times I've been, it was off-hours. read more

The way it works here is you make your order. Step away then have them make your sandwich then pay. I ordered and waited to pay while other orders were being taken....oops. New here. The staff was very friendly. I saw smiles all around. I ordered the turkey and provolone. I wanted no mayo but somehow mistakingly order one with mayo, didn't like it but! The sandwich was on a very soft roll. The turkey tasted good. Tasted fresh cut. Had shredded lettuce and nice fresh tomato. I added some chips in there for a better crunch ( you gotta do that) I did like the sandwich but didn't love it as much as I thought I would but it was still good 8/10 The reason I'm going to come back is because I love the happy and good attitude there! Seems to be they have good service :-) love that They do have homemade salads that yelp nation might like. And some homemade ice cream that looks cool in the individual tubs they have. Best sandwiches in the south bay. This place is delicious, and the sandwiches alone are worth the trip, but their frozen foods are also excellent. Check the freezer - the soups and meatballs are delicious, and if you have kids, they are a quick, easy, and healthy meal that keeps you and your lazyness from ordering some dumb chicken sandwich and fries on postmates. I wish I still lived near Olive It because it is my favorite sandwich shop. I often get cravings for their Jersey Subs, especially the prosciutto and mozzarella. Whenever I order a prosciutto sandwich elsewhere I find myself comparing it to Olive It's version, and the other establishments' sandwiches never stack up. Wide array of cold cuts and freshly made salads to choose from. The broccoli salad with cashews is a winner. Tried this place out last week for lunch. I ordered the freshly made mozzarella and prosciutto ham. It was nicely done. Good size sandwich ror the price. I think a thinner bread would have worked better. My roll kind of over powered my meat and cheese. And maybe a little more mayo and mustard. The thickness of the bread made the sandwich dry. I had a side of potato salad which appeared to be mayo based. I was too lazy to get up and ask. Other than that it was tasty. There are two small tables to sit and that's about it. It would be good to swing by and take some home for dinner. The regulars gave us "the tour" and basically said everything is good and made fresh daily. Definitely will return. read more

A great deli that uses quality products and most importantly GOOD BREAD. It's a small establishment so don't expect to find seating during the lunch rush. When I went in there were multiple dudes with Italian accents waiting for sandwiches, which tells me it's as authentic as you can get. I got the #10 jersey sub and it was great. This is one of my favorite sandwich spots in LA. I have been going here for many years!! Family owned and awesome!! All of the sandwiches are reasonably priced. About the same if not cheaper than subway and 100% better!! Their Prosciutto and Mozzarella sub is really the best. I always get extra olive oil and vinegar. All of their side salads are so good as well. I've never tried their warm food, only because their sandwiches are what I go for. Watched the man make my sandwich with his bare hands, no gloves, no washing. Then he went and rung someone up and continued with my sandwich. Kinda gross.. 2. Very basic ingredients. 1 cheese to choose from, NO AVOCADO, no sprouts. A sandwich place should have these options 3. Very bland taste, not a lot of flavor, nothing special. 4. Nothing is labeled, and ingredients are not listed under each sandwich. Therefore you will be surprised with at least 3 ingredients that you did not know would be on your sandwich. read more

The woman who runs this shop is super sweet and is more than willing to give you a sample if you have inquiries which is leads me to their tuna sandwich. Everyone makes their tuna different so I wanted to see what's up with her recipe. Sampled it and bam - got it! Jersey Shore Sub: Tuna: A+ Tuna, mayo, mustard, oil, vinegar, red onions, salt, pepper, shredded lettuce, tomato on a sub roll, sliced in half and sent to go! It's quite delicious! Nice and savory but not overwhelming with the mayo. The submarine roll is a nice bread to have this with fosho! Specialty Sandwich: Turkey & Salami: A Turkey, Salami, roasted red bell peppers, provolone, lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, salt, pepper, mayo, mustard on Rye bread. So I gave this sandwich an A rating vs. the Tuna because the tuna was better than this turkey. In any case, if I only ordered one sandwich, it would've gotten an A+. The sandwiches here are made fresh daily. The cuts of cheese and meats are also cut and made to order. They accept credit card here so that's a bonus! She also has some frozen italian entrees that I might wanna pick up for dinner so stayed tuned for my review on that. Parking is free for an hour on the sidewalk. HOLLA! read more

I went here at 4:40 pm on a Monday. Since the store advertised itself as closing at 5, I thought that since 4:40pm is prior to 5pm, this would be fine. A gentleman was in front of me at the back door ... he said they were closed. A few minutes later, sure enough the door opened and he went in. The person working there welcomed me in - after all, this is still 20 minute before closing - plenty of time to make a sandwich. However the man in front of me insisted that they were closed, that he didn't know me and that I just followed him in - despite the fact that I asked the employee prior to coming in whether they were still open (he nodded). After being profusely rude and chastising to me I asked the man whether he was the owner. He claimed he had some "vested interest". The people who worked there eventually did state that they were closed after I had been personally escorted into the dining room. I felt very awkward and then saw myself out. So here's some Pro-Tips (tm) on how to run a business: 1. Stay open the hours that you claim to be open. 2. If you are closed, don't let customers in. 3. Finally, don't leave it up to your customer, or "vested interest" to inform your would-be customers of such things. I'm sure they may make great sandwiches and have fantastic food - but with a customer experience that in no uncertain terms, makes me feel more like a cat-burglar than a customer, I really can't be brought to think about returning. What a terribly uncomfortable experience. I just wanted a sandwich. read more

I also had a Chunky Chicken Salad Sandwich and normally I'm not really a chicken salad person but a friend that I trust* recommended it and it was EXCELLENT! I'd been hearing about this place on yelp for ages and the buzz was really good! Since it was Spring Break for LMU I hoped the lunch time rush would be slightly less, so I ventured over there one day. It was really hard to choose the sandwich because they all sounded delicious. I went for a roast beef with tapenade (but know that I'll be back to try many others). I chose to have it on marbled rye - because it's usually a softer bread but still with the rye flavor - and it's pretty as well. Because I hadn't eaten breakfast, I went for 2 of their sides made there. I didn't feel I could disrespect the sandwich with just a bag of chips so I ordered the avocado cole slaw which was SO tasty. I also ordered the broccoli salad which was similar to one I make at home - but better! The sandwich was a good size. Truthfully if it'd been a normal day - eating 1/2 a sandwich with 1 side could have sufficiently satisfied me from a quantity point of view. After eating this - I don't know if I can return to regular sandwich chain restaurants. I washed it all down with a bubbly water which was perfect to clean my palate between the two sides.
