Pepper Steak sandwich-same great taste as I remember from the 1970's!
    Shiro V.

I haven't had the Pepper Steak sandwich from the Submariner since growing up in the 1970's in this neighborhood and walked to this restaurant with my siblings. Same great taste! I highly recommend this restaurant-especially the Pepper Steak Friendly staff!

This has to be one of Westchester's hidden gem. The food here is amazing. After finding this on Yelp, I decided to try it. To my surprise, when I walked in, I was greeted by the owners. They're a mom and pop Korean couple, but it looks like they become accustomed to making great philly cheesesteak sandwiches. I ended up ordering the Western Bacon Cheeseburger combo, and it was delicious. The onion rings were crunchy, the bacon was crispy, the cheese melted and was nice and gooey. The fries were seasoned well. The burger was still hot, I can see steam coming out with every bite. Not only does this serve good food, they also sell lotto tickets and scratchers! Next time you're in Westchester ordering wonderful food, grab a lotto ticket for a change to hit the jackpot as well. I'm keeping this place in mind and will have to add it to my restaurants on rotation.

What they claim is on their Philly cheese steak.

I ordered a Philly cheese steak and it came with lettuce and tomato. What the hell is that crap? I ordered a PHILLY CHEESE STEAK not a chopped cheese, you don't even have a chopped cheese on your menus but that's what your serving. You swapped out the ground beef for steak put lettuce and tomato on it. Just because there's steak doesn't make it a PHILLY CHEESE STEAK. You don't even know what sandwich you're serving. There were no peppers, onions, mushrooms, like your menu says. Image attached. Who the heck wants warm lettuce in a sandwich. Imposter ass "Philly cheese steak" taste wise...it was slightly lower than mid. Try something else from this place I guess.

I visited again the other day. I was craving a cheese steak sandwich, but have been trying to eat healthier, so I got the half sandwich and fries combo, substituting the fries with salad. It was just enough to satisfy my cravings.

I was instantly so glad we chose this spot to celebrate our anniversary because it was the perfect setting for a romantic date night. Now, let's talk about the food! Everything we ordered was delicious, with the exception of the Korean aguachiles, which we probably could've skipped. We also tried the bluefin bibimbap, oysters, and the oh-so-tender short rib that practically melted in our mouths. But the most unforgettable dish was also the simplest: the Korean fried chicken. It wasn't necessarily something out of the ordinary, but it sure tasted like it. The perfect crisp, flavor, and seasoning had us eating every last piece right down to the bone. Our server also made the experience even better. She gave us some of the best recommendations and were incredibly attentive and friendly throughout the entire meal. We absolutely loved this restaurant and are already planning our next visit!

My friend and I ordered the soy marinated prawns, beef tartare stone pot rice, creamy chicken soup, Wagyu beef soft tofu soup. The prawns were nicely marinated in a slightly sweet slightly salty soy sauce, and came paired with some barley and seaweed to make mini wraps. Delicious and a nice way to start the meal. The creamy chicken soup was indeed very creamy and smooth but the bowl is really small and would've been better with a higher soup to noodle ratio since the noodles soaked up the yummy soup. The tofu soup was surprisingly bland even though it was very red. It could've used more umami flavor or spice - something to jazz it up since the tofu, egg, and beef itself were not seasoned. My favorite dish of the night was the steak tartare stone pot rice. It came with a lot of veggies that helped balance out the sauce and I'm a sucker for crispy rice. However, the rice itself wasn't seasoned thoroughly as some spots had absolutely delicious sauce while other spots were bland. And the sauce wasn't a part of the tartare on top so it wasn't a mixing issue. The staff are kind and attentive, even with us being tucked away in the back corner and hidden by a curtain panel.

Everything was delicious and way too much food for the three of us to finish. My personal favorites were the cast iron cornbread and the smoked ocean trout dip. I also really liked the creamed corn with the chicken dish but preferred the cook of the pork chop as I found it much juicier and flavorful. Service was friendly but the experience was very slow. It took 30 minutes to get drinks and there were long lulls between courses that we took most of our mains to go. Service was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu with great recommendations. The other note is that it is SO dark in there! Go after sunset and you won't be able to see your food or what's on the table. We're millennials and almost used our flashlights to see anything on the table. I think a combination of the slowness and darkness led to us not finishing our meal and just preferring to take it home. For the food: Deviled eggs - really tasty, nice small portion to share, it was two eggs. Mussels - delicious but should definitely come with a nice piece of sourdough to dip into the broth. We tried the house rolls for it, which were okay. Cavatelli - nice savory flavor, perfectly al dente, very rich dish. Chicken - my husband said it was great and recommends! And then to come back and ask if we wanted to remove the items we already ordered without us having to bring it up just lets me know that you remembered all this time but chose not to serve us until someone had to go ask to be served AGAIN. Even other venues that are 5x bigger than this one have better customer service/attentiveness. We also ordered the bottomless mimosas and only got through 2 bottles because it took them 20 minutes to bring out the first one and another 15 to bring out the second one when it was asked for.
