First time visitor and it was nice! Customer service was good and the food was pretty good. There is street parking and there was a free lot almost right next door with spots for compact cars. We made reservations beforehand and were seated quickly on a Friday evening. It was pretty busy so I recommend reservations, they seem popular. We started out with the Rockfish bites as an appetizer and they were really good. I got the gyro platter and a small Mediterranean salad. I do wish the gyro platter was more traditional with more pita bread. I wasn't a huge fan of the salad, it had a lot of different things in it which is good. Last I got the brownie à la mode. The brownie was alright, nothing special. I only spent $35 with tip which is very reasonable for all I got. Overall I would recommend them and I would go back!

Intended to go to happy hour at another establishment not too far from Olive on Main but ended up here. My friend have been here many times before so we decided to take a little stroll down Main Street and attend their happy hour instead. It's definitely a neighborhood bar/ hole in the wall and I could tell that it was a proud place for the neighborhood. We took seats at the bar and quickly started asking questions about the happy hour choices from drinks to food options from a young lady that was not the bartender but was extremely helpful. We decided upon a margarita and red sangria for starter drinks as well as baba ganoush and hummus along with the Thai Chili wings for bites. My friend asked for the wings to be fried hard and they came out really good. I got up to wash my hands and noticed the cute decor and snap the quick picture on my way to the bathroom. As I was coming back, I noticed that there were small placards on tables with different menu options including a key lime Margarita that caught my attention because I love love key lime! My baba ganoush and hummus were pretty much the same thing. It tasted like they were both seasoned with smoked paprika and both topped with unpitted olives and a few chicken peas. Although one being chickpeas and the other roasted eggplant, they tasteed almost identical with the only difference being the texture. I didn't taste any garlic in the hummus and I guess that's a personal preference but each time I make my hummus, I always put a little bit of garlic in it and it's not specifically garlic hummus LOL Moving on, the bartender seemed to be extremely busy because we weren't offered water or even second rounds until well after we requested after we were finished with our food. A small mishap occurred and the manager came out shortly after to address it. He introduced himself and asked our names and quickly took accountability. Now that's good management! Things are definitely be tricky and the restaurant world and being able to have a manager who can acknowledge it, take responsibility, and then ask how to make it right is gargantuan. Because of that, I may entertain coming back in the future.

Hey friends! I was excited to try this place again as I had it a few years ago and loved it. Unfortunately this visit was unpleasant. We ordered a Main Burger and Lamb Burger($38) to-go. We asked for medium and medium rare cooks. Both burgers were extremely overcooked. Beyond well-done. We asked for no Feta cheese on the lamb burger and still received Feta cheese on the burger. The fries were tasty. I unfortunately won't be back. The burger temp is the most important part of the cook, which the cooks blatantly ignored. Hope you enjoy!

This local spot has some of the best happy hour prices. I come here often, but always forget to leave a review. The happy hour is from 3-6 and features some quality items. This time around I ordered the chicken Shawarma Mediterranean bowl. The meal portion was perfect for happy hour and was really good. This place gets pretty packed, but the staff still manages to get the food out in a timely manner. My Stoli Blueberry Lemonade cocktail wasn't too strong which was perfect for me. The staff is fairly nice and there's plenty of street parking. Overall, it's a great neighborhood spot to come and grab a decent bite and drink.

Fast friendly service.Good came out hot and quick which was nice. Plenty of time to go get ice cream next door. But the food itself was pretty mid. The chicken was really pretty oily and for as much seasoning on top could of done with some simple salt. The fries were hot crunchy but equally bland. And the calamari appetizer not only lacked seasoning and was so chewy I couldn't eat it. Not sure I'd return and if I did I'd definitely skip the Mediterranean food and opt for bar food instead

We had a large party come after a funeral and the staff definitely were trying their best to accommodate us. It took about 40 minutes before we got waters but they quickly got our order and brought it out all at once. The food came out at a good temperature but is not the advertised mediterranean food we expected. The food was decent but not great. You could tell not everything was fresh such as the lamb burger and crab in the soup. The family still had a great time and appreciated the hospitality given the circumstances. The service was 10/10 but the food wasn't worth it.

My first time here and I want to thank all the yelp reviewers for their reviews as it was an excellent choice! I haven't been to downtown Laurel in a long time, it's really quaint and very nice. When I walked in, I was greeted immediately and offered my choice of seating. It's a cool little place and has a very nice vibe. I opted to sit at the bar and glad that I did. I was immediately greeted by Tori who was serving behind the bar, but also a manager. I ordered a beer and since it was quiet had a great conversation with Tori. I wound up sharing the Mezza platter with my friend, and it was absolutely absolutely delicious! Great place, great service, great food! I will definitely be back and thanks again Tori!

Continuing my photo series of 2024, to represent February is Olive on Main in Old Town Laurel. This place is significant because it was my girlfriend & I 3rd date was here on Wednesday, 2/21 and our first date at a sit-down restaurant for dinner. I had looked this up and heard about their good happy hour from the President of my condo board, who really likes this place. So, I knew I wanted to try based on her glowing recommendation. My impression was generally positive. Server was cordial and answered questions like the wine recommendations, etc. I had suggested the half-off to my date at the time (soon to be girlfriend) splitting the chicken nachos and the happy hour wine. After my g/f arrived, I talked to the server asking about the nachos saying we were going to split the nachos, is this a good amount? She was honest saying that's it's a half portion and not much to split at all. I was disappointed saying that the happy hour makes it sound like the half price, so I assume it's a nice discount off the regular order. But half off for half the amount of food is not any sort of happy hour deal as I'm paying for the same amount per nacho. To be fair, the wine deals were great. $5 or 6 for Pinot Grigio and other options. I did want to try the gyro platter, and the server did recommend it as being a solid option. I felt this was the best choice here as the happy hour and place had a Mediterranean theme. My g/f got a bowl. We both enjoyed our food. I thought this was one of the best gyro platters I've had. As for the place itself, the set up is awkward with the shape of the place, it's a bit cramped and noisy. The happy hour was misleading Half price nachos shouldn't be half portion too, or they should clarify this is a half or smaller portion than the normal one. One interesting note was that in spite of arriving during happy hour time in the early 5 PM hour, our conversation was great and ended up staying until closing time, which is always the sign of a good date. Another noteworthy thing I said to her jokingly that we should've come here on a Thursday instead of Wednesday, their happy hour is extended until 8 PM instead of the normal 3-6 PM time range on the other weekdays.

Visited here a second time with my mom and loved it! This time there was a slight stench in the place and I couldn't place it. Other than that the food was great! The wings are small though with not a lot of meat. Only order the spicy wings if you actually like spicy food because they are HOT! I got a stuffed burger with more cheese on top and it was awesome and actually medium like I requested. Fries were hot and over all our food came out fast and piping hot. Mom is a vegan so she got the tilapia salad or whatever it was. She thoroughly enjoyed it and also enjoyed her crab soup appetizer. We weren't finished our apps before our food came. Mom also said the sangria was really strong and for four bucks you sure get a lot of it! We came during happy hour. I think I'll be a regular! read more

I am definitely a fan. We opted for Olive on Main to try something a little different in the Laurel area. Side note, thank you yelp for helping us find it. I rarely go down Main Street, and didn't know this place was here. To start, we had the fried eggplant with Parmesan and mozzarella, which we loved (even our toddler). For our main courses, I had salmon with mashed potatoes and asparagus, my husband had pork loin with rice and asparagus, and my little one the mini hamburgers and fries. We found the food to be very good, all of it. Even the kids meal, the burgers were excellent! Our server was very attentive without being bothersome. And the prices were reasonable. We'll be back! read more

Found this quaint spot in Laurel on a whim. My cousin and I enters the establishment immediately greeted by the smiling hostess and pleasantly surprised by how cozy, comfortable the decor and its warm and inviting atmosphere. We happened on the Happy Hour and orders $5 martinis....the best Happy Hour drinks in a long time. Ordered a few of their Mediterranean apps...not one complaint. We're definitely going back for their bacon wrapped dates and calamari..yum delish! They were out of falafel for the platter but substituted our choice of fried eggplant. An enjoyable meal all around. Our waitress was most accommodating and attentive. Definitely going back ..: gotta try the falafel! read more

The Kifta kabob was delicious but honestly this is a Mediterranean restaurant and you are missing the green part in the dish, so you need to add some veggi or salad instead of rice and bread , since you cannot substitute the rice and bread! read more

We found this place through Yelp as we were traveling from Virginia to New Jersey. The restaurant had a warm and casual atmosphere, and the food was excellent. Great quality, fresh and beautifully presented. The servers were nice and friendly. I will definitely come back. read more

We have been to Olive On Main twice in the past few weeks. The food is truly wonderful. I an the Gyro Wrap both times. I really believe it was better the second time. The land was warm, flavorful, and there was plenty of it. The lettuce was fresh and crisp. The feta and sauce were plentiful. The second time I opted for a small Greek salad instead of the fries. The fries, however, were delicious the first go round. My husband had the lamb shwarma plate both times and was delighted each time. The food was delicious and hot both times. We picked up our order both time. We also had a slice of chocolate pean butter Smith Island cake on our second trip. That was beyond delicious! I hope to eat in the restaurant someday soon. read more

Decided to try this place based on the many positive reviews. The food took a long time and was subpar but our waitress was very attentive. This place is wonderful. Good food, friendly staff, local microbrews on tap. One of the few restaurants I've been in that can cook a pork chop without turning it into leather. And the wings are top notch. There's a new city lot next to the Cork N Bottle which really helps with parking. read more

Anthony was great, very personal and nice. I did ask what three olives flavors they had for the happy hour but he forgot to tell me the one I wanted. (Espresso) Anyways- My only complaint was the table wasn't cleared off after we ate. It just sat on the table for like an hour... That only bothers me because I'm a server myself. ;) Decently priced drinks $8 for Hendricks! It's slightly noisy in here (bad echo) & they need to get the bathroom door fixed on the women's room as it doesn't lock. I'd try it again! Don't get this mixed up with OLIVERS. Happy hour is 3-7, enjoy! read more

Great Greek standards are on the menu, but also American fare that will satisfy everyone. The bar has a decent liquor selection and several wines by the glass. Two people at our table had the gyros and said they were very good. I stuck with a Greek salad which was tasty, but too big to finish. I'm ready to come back and try more items from the menu. read more

The servers we very polite, friendly, and accommodating. We realized shortly after we ordered how little time we actually had before we had to get to an appointment, our server brought our food out promptly and got us settled and out the door on time. Finally! A great local hot spot!! Great food and a nice view of Main Street. Makes you feel like you're in a small town away from the hustle and bustle of Maryland. The staff was awesome and very friendly. Prices are reasonable also. Great German beer! Took me back to my military days when I was stationed in Germany. I would definitely recommend you pay them a visit, I'm sure you'll love it! read more

Disappointed after reading other reviews. Ice Tea served immediately then waited,probably 20 min for appetizers. OK but not special. Then, Not 5 min. after they arrived, dinner arrived. Waiter said if we had ordered appetizers then when they came, ordered dinner everything would have been fine. Yea, OK My friends stuffed burger delicious but on nothing but a bun. served w/ ho hum breaded onion rings. My Gyro platter sliced lamb? sauteed generously in oil w/couple onion and green pepper slices + lots of rice and pita. Vegetables?? nada, just lots of carbs. Friendly wait staff though not too attentive. will we try again..........maybe. read more

We loved our delivery from here. Crab dip had lots of crab and the buffalo cauliflower was perfect. I liked the sweet thick batter on the onion rings as well. The vegetables were flavored and cooked nicely with my chicken skewer. Can't wait to order again! read more

I heard about this place on a Next Door post and decided to try them out. Yesterday, I had the black bean burger with hummus which was great. Today, I had the crab cake entree with green beans. DELICIOUS! I shared the buffalo cauliflower and hummus with a friend. Tori (sp) was pleasant over the phone and when I arrived at the restaurant. I appreciated her upbeat spirit during this time (COVID). I can't wait to try some other dishes while we wait for this crisis to be over and dine in at some point. read more

This was our first time trying Olive on Main, and we'll definitely be back. We had great service, and the place is really cute-- lots of local art on the walls. I tried the Bacon Wrapped Shrimp, and my husband had a stuffed burger with jalapeños and gouda. Both were great! It looks like they have a nice happy hour M-F from 3-7 as well with $.60 wings, $3 dips, and $5 margaritas, so we'll probably try that next! read more

While traveling grow tired of the panera/Chipotle rotation so decided to check yelp reviews for something different. Quaint downtown area, storefront and wouldn't have ever tried if not for the good reviews. Order the gyro platter which was simply pita's, rice and gyro meat, however tons of meat...which is amazing since almost always restaurants skimp on the meat. Not this place! So much meat ran out of pita's. Delicious. Went for the onion rings for dessert. Beer battered, crisp, and the right onion to batter ratio. Will be back next time in area for sure! read more

My experience is always great when I go to Olive on Main. On my most recent visit, my server Tori was very attentive. The crab cakes and falafel are to die for! Management is very active in everyday operations. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for authentic Mediterranean food and a pleasant dining experience. :) read more

Found this gem on yelp. Russell was our server. He was great. Laid back, not overwhelming. Served us in a timely manner. The food was delicious. For appetizers we had the crab dip (good flavor, not too salty), calamari, and mozzarella sticks. For entree I had a crab cake sandwich with fries (hot and crispy). Crab cake was a good size and lumpy with great flavor. Would definitely go back. read more

The Middle Eastern Cuisine and Olive Lounge where the first to come for the Hishmeh Family. The Middle Eastern Cuisine was established in in 2001 and the Olive Lounge later opened in 2008. We have colibarted the two menus and come up with the concept for Olive On Main which was formed by the brothers Nadol and Chris Hishmeh.

Even with the burger still was not good and the patty was so thick with no flavor not even salt and pepper was in it!! I tried their punch drink which was really good but for $15 a pop in a regular water glass was ridiculous. Make sure you don't get too tipsy as they already have like a 20% gratuity added on each of our checks no matter how small or big your group is which again is ridiculous! Will I come back...maybe only because I would like to try some Jamaican food they offer. But for brunch...it's a no for me!

Had a Mother's Day Dinner today with three generations of family. Food was very good. However what I did not enjoy was a hole in the floor near where my seat was positioned between the wall and our table! I never noticed the holes in the floor because they were covered and camouflaged by a thin piece of rubber close to the same color as the floor! Shortly after I sat down on the chair, I adjusted my seat and one of the legs of my chair slid into one of the holes in the floor giving my body a sudden and unforgiving jolt! I immediately felt my lower back twisted and hurt as a direct result of this negligent hole in the damn floor where there were chairs inches away from them! I complained to the manager Chris about what happened shortly after the incident. He stated that he knew about the holes in the floor and they were covered. So management had knowledge of these dangerous holes in the floor and purposefully covered them up with thin rubber so customers wouldn't notice them, yet still arrange their tables and chairs next to the hole. Chris the manager explained they could not fill the holes or permanently cover them since they were some kind of drainage holes. People of color, please stay away from this place. They are blatantly racist. Racism is a sick mental condition. I am so tired of the toxicity of racism. People do not have control over their race or preference to be born a certain nationality. I believe in putting it out there. No race card playing, here. It is what it is. I am calling it what it is. I am writing this review so that people can make an informed decision. If you do not prefer to deal with people of color, then do something else. We are tired of your toxicity. Stopped in to get a burger for lunch. Ive been a few times, it's been ok before. It's food, but a bit pricey for the place that it is. Burger was over cooked and they didn't seem to know what medium meant because the waitress said that's how I ordered it. Customer used to always be right. Last few try's here havnt been that great. They need new people, I guess it's hit or miss. Next time I'll just go to Olivers. read more

I particularly enjoyed the stuffed burger topped with bacon and the Chopped Mediterranean Salad. The customer service is a bit lackluster though and you might need to wait longer than expected. What a disappointment. I ordered what looked like a promising salad and it turned out to be a jumbled mess of old lettuce and other unappetizing toppings. The young waitress, seemingly perturbed at having to refill my water, spilled it on me while delivering it. Poor service poor food.
